Ryokan exceptionnel!

Nichts.
Hotel magnifique, personnel charmant, très bon emplacement
Exceptional ryokan, we loved everything! The rooms were more than big enough for a family of 4 with a nice view on the canal. Breakfast and dinner were tasty and plentiful. And the shared onsen was great with outside bath, sauna, …
Nothing.
Traditional meets modern. Exceptional attention to details. Clean sleek onsen to include outdoor.

I love the newer ryokans. This was really nice. Friendly staff and a great location. The onsen and sauna were great. And rooms very comfy
The room was gorgeous. The onsen was amazing! Lots of beautiful products in the room and onsen. Staff at desk and shop were super helpful.
Everything was really great overall. The one this that surprised us was that there was no instruction about breakfast, considering this hotel serves so many folks from foreign countries. The manual in the room instructed us in English about the onsen etiquette and many other amenities in the hotel. But it would be beneficial for them to include a sheet about the Japanese breakfast. We had no idea what most things were and when or how we were supposed to eat them.
property was absolutely outstanding beautiful we had a Sweet with a gorgeous view of the water. The shared bath Osen was luxurious and indoor outdoor and a micro steam bath for the ladies and a hot Sauna for men! Upon arrival they take your bags provide you with the welcome drink and guide you to your room. very close to being able to go up tram bikes were available on the property for a nominal fee. We wrote them across and then took the boat back and took the chairlift up on the other side. Everything is very well explained the sushi place about 300 yards down. The road was also amazing for breakfast was delicious only Japanese tourists while we visited. just now if you arrive later in the day very difficult to get a dinner reservation Hotel was kind enough to call around for us and we were able to get into a family restaurant right next-door which was a very fun experience with the Hotel dinner looked well worth it.

Proximity to sights, food, and shopping.
The hotel was beautiful. It was calm, quiet and full of traditional Japanese character. The decor, including gardens and artwork, were very tasteful. Our room opened out onto a beautiful ground-floor garden. The breakfasts, both Japanese and Western, were beautifully presented and tasty. The Japanese evening meal was exceptionally good.

Thank you so much for having us!
Everything was perfect
Beautiful location, nice staff, and really relaxing room.
Food was below expectation - like a canteen n some dishes (lobster) overcooked. Quality n service not what I expected from ryoka at that price point.
Some staff good n some can do better esp the front desk
It was beautiful and serene. Lovely amenities. The food was outstanding. Great location.
We loved it all.

Simple beauty without any cheap clatters that you see at many Japanese hotels/ryokans, good amenity and facilities incl Nespresso machine in the room, beautiful view, clean everywhere, clean and beautiful modern onsen, great additional amenities. Friendly staff called for dinner reservations. Food was good and nice presentation. Room lighting can be improved with more soft indirect lighting. Beautiful view in the room but can have some small light outside to enjoy the night view from the room. The chairs were obviously set to watch TV but seeing the view through their large windows should be more priority (we moved the rug and chairs!). Pick-up and drop off were helpful on the rainy day with heavy luggage.
Staff lack of words other than “thank you” Lighting outside by the water was missing to enjoy the night view from the room
Everything was amazing. Staff were very friendly, close to the station and great facilities. Loved the outdoor bath!

Perfect resort i went there for my honeymoon very helpful staff and the room was perfect with an open air bath
Very attentive staff. Excellent service.

It’s quite near the train station (about 15 mins walk). I But the best part is, it’s just opposite the Amanohashidate cable car station which is very convenient. There’s a bus that goes to Ine Bay which is just opposite the hotel, though the journey is far. The dinner & breakfast were great. Perhaps the hotel should provide a warmer link away to the restaurant which is located outside the hotel, it’s very cold walking the link way during winter. The Onsen is great but water is very hot. The amenities provided in the Onsen is more than sufficient. Price wise is abit to the high side. The view of the river in the room was pleasant and there’s a open walk way at the back of the hotel that link to the river. Will consider staying again if there is an opportunity.
Nothing
A very traditional Japanese style establishment: sleeping on tatami, with a small onsen, and traditional style of service (shoes conficcated at Reception, and no slippers provided - unusually to Japanese Hotels - but Yukata supplied.
No slippers, walking on the corridors - it was cold.
Location location location Also the service was good . bfast and dinner was very good too. Will definitely recommend

Everything. Luxurious Japanese style hotel.
The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond in helping me to locate a Japanese family member whom I had not seen in a long time who lives in the area.
Very nice traditional Japanese ryokan.
Sleeping futons are too thin.
This hotel is beautiful and located in a great area in Amanohashidate. Can't wait to go back
Staffs are very attentive and we felt welcome almost before we arrived. Kumar san did a thorough orientation for our stay. Same goes to all the front desk and Mon dining area staffs. Japanese Breakfast was meticulously and superb
Nothing about the property I don’t like. The fact I’ve already miss the place cause had only booked stay for a night!
The staff were very friendly and helpful with all my needs while staying Monjusou
Location was stunning. The garden outside of our first floor room, along the canal was peaceful and serene. I loved that they provided a futon mat to sit/lay down on to enjoy the outside as well. Our room was large and beautifully appointed. Loved making coffee in the room each morning and enjoying the view. Beds extremely comfortable and cozy. The private in-room onsen was delightful. We had a fabulous time riding along the peninsula on the one speed bicycles provided by the hotel.
Make plans for your meals. This is a very small town and any of the good restaurants will require reservations.
Location- The hotel itself and the surrounding area are beautiful. There is a nice beach and woodland walk next to the hotel. It is quiet and a nice break away from the hussle and bussle of the cities in Japan. Train station is around a 5 min walk. Staff- Very friendly & helpful with the majority speaking fairly good English. Public Baths- The male public baths were spotless and also include a sauna and cold plunge pool. Attention to detail- As with all of Japan, the rooms were extremely clean. The room had a great balcony looking onto a wooded area. I would suggest a 2 night stay to be able to fully enjoy the hotel and surrounding area.
Location- The vast majority of shops & resturants shut at around 6pm. If you haven't made a reservation at the hotel restaurant and the nearby restaurant 310 ( which is great by the way) is fully booked then you will struggle to eat. Bike rental- you have to pay 600 yen to rent bikes which is abit in an already expensive hotel. Breakfast- will not be to everyone's taste, especially westerners as it is mostly fish and soup.
Location, size, facilities, wonderful staff
Room temperature a bit hard to regulate, something not right with the toilet resulting in sewage smell.
Monjusou was a fantastic place to stay in Amanohashidate. It is close to the station, less than 5 minutes walk, and very close to all of the great sites to visit. The staff was excellent and treated us very well, and were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was amazing too.
Neat and beautiful
Our room has an excellent view just by the shore. Room was huge, with both Japanese and western area and the hot spring bath inside the room is excellent for my travel partner who is not comfortable using the public hot spring facilities. The two meals included were decadent, with lots of courses. Staff was friendly, attentive and the Japanese staff can communicate adequately in English. They do have a few foreign workers in the staff which speaks better English also. Location of hotel is just a 4 minutes walk from Amanohashidate Station.
Quiet and peaceful hotel that mixes perfectly design and tradition. Rooms are large and comfortable. Amanohashidate beach is fantastic for a swim.
Beware that you should reserve dinner in the hotel before arrival otherwise you will have to fetch for a restaurant nearby and they basically mostly close before 6 pm.
Comfortable accommodation, food, staff service and convenient location to the excellent sight seeing spots
Great location. Very nice room. Fantastic service. Very relaxing after a day of sightseeing.
The attention to detail.
It’s nicely renovated with a clean public bath and is located at a very convenient location. We can park our car at the parking after check out to continue the sight-seeing before leaving the area. Room is quiet and with nice view.
While the staff in general were friendly and helpful, we were very disappointed with the 2 staff at check out time. Two young staff - one female and one male - were just standing there watching me struggle with putting 3 full sizes luggages and 2 hand-carry into the car trunk. They stood there and just watched and didn’t help even my friend asked them too. This is not acceptable for a hotel if such high ratings.
Very clean and comfortable
Beautiful building, location, and ryokan rooms. Thoughtful touches throughout.
The hotel is very good in both general services, environment and food. The location is just 5 minutes walk from JR station and also very close to scenic spots. I love the little backyard of my room and allow me to walk out to the riverside. The only area of improvement is the dinner arrangement seems a bit rush and we seems need to eat in a hurry. Anyway the foods quality were good.
Pleasant stay. Hotel with history but spotless. Phenomenal view of the canal. Location is excellent for sightseeing.
We were arranged in a room at the end of the corridor, I think it is relatively old compared to other room but overall it was ok. Service was super good and caring. Just a bit disappointed on the breakfast.
very good breakfast & good location hotel. Their sevice was excellent
The dinner was by far the best meal I’ve had since being in Japan. Highly recommend staying here as the staff were over the top nice and helpful!! 10/10 would reccommend to anyone.
Monjusou has two carparks - one at the main entrance and another down the road. Driving to the location is a breeze and you'll get to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The staff greeted us at the entrance once we arrived and gave us discount coupons for the Land View attraction as we were early for check-in. They were very friendly and we felt like VIPs under their care. After we came back one staff showed us around the Ryokan, where we learnt that there's two onsen areas - one for males and another for females. They swap the onsen once a day so that you'll get to enjoy two different environments. It would be nice if the onsen can be reserved for private use. There's also an awesome massage chair outside the onsen area that you can use after soaking. The room is right along the river and it's huge - 10 tatami mats to be exact. The room also comes with a balcony, toilet, washbasin area, and a shower room with a wooden bathtub. It's really the largest and most comfortable Ryokan we've ever stayed in. The linen used for the bedding is so soft you'll not want to wake up. We walked around the Ryokan barefooted as tatami mats were everywhere. The staff didn't inform us that dinner would not be served in the rooms but at the restaurant beside the main entrance of the Ryokan, so we waited 30mins in our room in vain. The dinner was very enjoyable and took us over an hour to finish. Breakfast was equally delicious. This is really the perfect getaway place.
