Facilities in room were good. Size of bed good. Nice breakfast and food in restsurant was of a good standard.. Outside area was well kept and attractive. Staff were attentive.
Number of steps up to the room , no lift. . For some this would be a real problem. Lack of safety catch on window which meant it kept blowing open so had to shut it, also windows were dirty and hadcobwebs and dead flies.
Amazing as always. Jenny and her team are fantastic hosts , always welcoming and helpful. The hotel, food and staff were great . No complaints from us. 5🌟.
NOTHING!!!!
The Hotel was quirky, loved it. Reception and Bar team were great.
Food was awful and waiting staff were poor getting food wrong twice. We did complain at the time
rooms
nothing
Great breakfast. Lovely outdoor space. Good bar and dining room.
Could have had diffusers around to give a good fragrance as you move around the hotel.
The location was really good. I liked the interior design, combination of modern and traditional style. We had comfortable beds as well.
Breakfast was excellent. Didn't have any other meals. Nice to have guaranteed off road parking.
Lovely stay
Very friendly service and excellent food
Hotel and breakfast was great
A good large car park
The dining areas were very sparse so not much atmosphere at all. Cafe style wooden tables not much comfort.
Friendly staff and good variety of dishes for dinner
Batter bit too thick
Nicely decorated , the outside area was lovey and well kept
Lovely Victorian property with many original features
Noisy eating evening meal in the open layout with bar adjacent
Good comfortable surroundings pleasant dining room
Considering the weather aircom in the bedroom would have been good
Food was very good, though in the hot weather would have been nice to have more salad based dishes
Missed having a fridge in the room. Otherwise facilities excellent.
Very welcoming and considerate staff. Tasty breakfast. Good evening meal.
Decor in bar and dining areas is a bit sterile. Too modern and minimalist for a period property.
Overall holiday was very enjoyable
Nothing
Excellent well cooked and presented food.
Exceptional clean bedroom and bathroom. Staff very helpful.
Staff and food was brilliant.
The room was not very clean. The sheets and towels were very clean but the room was not. We opened windows because of the heat and the windows and frames were very dirty inside and out. The lamps in the room were covered in a layer of dust and the fan was broken.
Nice roomy dining area , location Close to town with lots of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Try the marmalade ice cream it's fab.
Room was stuffy its was very hot and the bedding was far too thick as was summer. Should have ceiling fan at least as no air con. Had to ask for another fan as one in room didn't work. There was a lack of plug sockets and the room layout was poor as only 2 sockets usable and the hairdryer was difficult to use as had to sit on floor to use it so was as close to wardrobe mirror as possible so hardly practicle. Bathroom window locked so could get any fresh air in there. Carpet was a bit stained I feel the room warranted 4 stars.
Staff were so friendly and under pressure so good at their job
Hotel was excellent but further out of Southwold than expected and no near pubs
Great service and friendly staff
The table with tea making facilities was rather low and impractical. Bit dangerous when using a boiling kettle
Location
Clean and tidy. Parking safe and plenty of space
Location and friendly staff
No carpet our soft furnishings in eating areas, pine floors, Bar areas very pubby and cater for locals.Gravel carpark potholes ,beware, drive slowly.
Excellent welcome , beautiful room, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast.
It was all very good
It was spotlessly clean
Lovely facilities. Great service from the staff. Evening meal was fabulous. Perfect portions and the bedroom was excrement comfortable with great ensuuye facilities.

Breakfast is a highlight at the Randolph. We had to be careful on this trip though as we were having an early lunch with friends and needed to be able to eat something!
Not much. We had dinner we friends the night of of stay but they wanted to eat elsewhere as they felt the menu was too limited at the Randolph …sadly.
Room was very good Breakfast was very well prepared and nicely done
Very nice Good choices Nice bar in evening
Nothing
The Breakfast was very good and service was excellent.
Beautiful building. Lovely rooms. Great food. 20mins walk to Southwold
NA
Clean and tidy Hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Short walk in to town. Ample on site parking at no extra cost. Great base for exploring the Area. Food in the Restaurant was excellent especially the Breakfast with the Chefs special recipe Black Pudding
Nothing
Breakfast excellent
Noise in bar area and dining area. Nowhere to sit in the bedroom. No quiet lounge area.
Lovely large bright sunny room and nicely decorated. Very friendly staff and very good breakfast. Good quiet location with large garden area .easy walk into Southwold ..would stay aga
Location, parking, lovely staff
Some items in the room could have been cleaner. Glasses left for water were not clean and stuck to table top .
Good location. Friendly staff. Parking and very good value for money. Food very nice.
Small menu and no chicken.
Local to our venue, reasonably priced.
Good location, great staff.
Nothing, it as all we needed
Great location with ample car parking. The hotel was well maintained and the room (9) was spacious and well appointed. We liked the homemade shortbread biscuits in the room! We dined in the hotel and enjoyed two excellent meals. The bar has a nice local feel to it but there is also plenty of restaurant space for a bit more privacy if needed. Staff were super throughout our stay.
No real problems but we thought the room door needed a bit of tlc with paintwork looking tired. I'm sure this is just ongoing maintenance.
Lovely and clean, room was bright spacious at top of House, immaculate bathroom, lovely staff and very good restaurant & Bar , plenty of parking
Nothing
Ideally situated to visit Southwold Nice to have balcony Lovely breakfasts Friendly Staff
Room quite small Limited menu as we stayed for Five nights and did not eat every night at hotel as after two meals we had no further choices perhaps more choices in the summer?
Very little sadly
The "Hotel" is basically a pub with rooms. There is no atmosphere or any spaces for guests to sit and relax. The bar is just that.. a drinking space. The restaurant is like a canteen - no carpet or soft furnishings - or pictures. Our room was just big enough for the bed (Room 4) There was a chair but it was a metal folding chair that you couldn't use. The "Hotel" closes when staff leave so there is no night cover which made me feel anxious as there was clearly no security. Its location was outside Southwold so not easy to get into if that is where you want to visit. Staff were at times stressed and the venue felt understaffed.
Location excellent, room really clean with nice attention to what a customer might want. Food was good .
Breakfast was lovely, didn't see croissants on the table with the cereal, but my wife tells me, you needed to order them.
I filled out the form for, biscuits, coffee bags and peppermint tea bags. But was only left biscuits and coffee bags, no peppermint tea. Radiator in bathroom was on full blast and made the rest of the room stuffy. Had to sleep with the windows open.
Comfortable bed, very clean and warm room
Clean rooms, nice staff, good food.
Bed (double) was a small double so a tad uncomfortable. It was also very soft although my kids room had better/ firmer beds (everyone has their own preferences mind).
Excellent breakfast
Room was very warm at night
Staff were lovely and food was amazing. Clean room .
Our room was large and the bathroom looked newly fitted. It was very clean.
Nothing
We had a lovely room at the top of the building. The whole hotel was well furnished and appeared newly decorated. Lots of parking.
You have to drive into Southwold. Not really walkable
Location, staff ,cleanliness, comfy bed.
No comfy chairs to relax in after a busy day. Menu not much Variety, perhaps pasta or salad .reported soap dispenser broken ,not fixed.
The staff are lovely, the place is spotless. The breakfasts are very good. Beautifully cooked. Same goes for dinner. We’ve not tried lunch yet. Although we’ve stayed a few times..Usually in the spring and autumn when Southwold isn't too busy.
Very little
breakfast
Room a little too warm
Breakfast was excellent
Nothing really.
It was generally a very relaxed stay. Good draught beers.
Nothing
Great location 15” drive to Southwold seafront. Shame the weather wasn’t very welcoming. Good dining experience both breakfast and dinner, attentive staff. Clean well maintained hotel.
If you’re a little advanced in years you may wish to request a room on the lower floor.
Clean ,comfortable,Great breakfast,Friendly staff,great service
The weather
Friendly staff. Lovely landlady. Beautifully decorated hotel
They had thought of everything
Nothing
Well run, warm, clean, food very good. Would definitely stay again.
Book a larger room next time,, a little further to walk to the town than we realised but not enough to spoil our visit.
Staff very friendly. Spacious room. Good food.
Top floor room, bathroom down 4 steps. My electrified a bit but didn't spoil the stay.
Friendly staff.... quiet location with easy reach of Southwold
All good, no issues 👍
Lovely small hotel with welcoming bar and restaurant
They don’t make up the rooms if you stay more than one night
The hotel staff were very welcoming, always available and attentive, the breakfast was truly excellent with a great selection. The room was lovely and warm, a good size with a recently refurbished bathroom. The building has a charm of its era.
Car park needs a little TLC !
Lovely stay with friendly staff and lots of nice touches!
Clean, comfortable and well appointed
Comfortable, warm, clean, great location, quiet, the room was exceptional.
Both excellent
Spacious room, lovely pub downstairs, lovely breakfast
Room temperature could have been better ( fan heater was provided though) Room was large , nice but had to rely on heater to back up central heating. It was very cold outside
Excellent choices with fresh good quality food . Prompt efficient service .
Restaurant a little lacking in decor and character but clean, spacious and comfortable .
Nice hotel with character, lovely breakfast and handy location
Room was a bit small, lot of potholes in the car park.
Booked the Churchill room, which was more like a suite. Great welcome in, and even some Prosecco and chocolates in the fridge. All food was really nice, beautifully presented. Only complaint could be that it was so nice that I over ate. Top breakfasts, 2 nice dinners & a cream tea to die for. 20 minute walk to the seafront was worth it, and don't miss the lighthouse tour.
The ambiance in the dinner area could have been a little warmer. Out of season gave good value, but weather inclement
Welcoming staff that served with a smile and made us feel comfortable from the moment we checked in till we checked out. Fresh, low key and comfortable room and rest of hotel to relax. Great food
Nothing
Excellent breakfast good quality food
Location and a big car park
