Fun location in the backwaters, you can just sit outside and see the kettuvallams past by. Room was clean and looked like in the photos. Staff helped us to organize tours and a taxi to munnar. Breakfast was good.

Dinner is not worth it. It was precooked and unfortunately it was the worst meal we have had in India. Also it would be easier/more clear if there would be a catalog about the tours and the prices.

The hotel is beautiful. It’s set right next to the canal - you can watch the boats go by and even relax in a hammock. The staff were really friendly and helpful, we couldn’t ask to stay in a better hotel - they even arranged a private yoga class for us. Thanks again for a beautiful stay.

The hotel is on an island and so slightly outside the main area and requires a 2 min boat journey to access it. This wasn’t an issue for us as we were aware at booking. Also, a speedy tuk tuk ride gets you from the town centre to the jetty in no time. However if you want to be within walking distance from ‘the action’ this probably isn’t the hotel for you.

Lo staff molto cordiale e gentile...sin troppo oserei dire..dico questo solamente perché siamo giovani viaggiatori abituati a prenotare le nostre attivitá in autonomia, e lo staff ci ha chiesto innumerevoli volte se volevamo prenotarle tramite loro. Una mattina quasi ci entra in camera chiedendo sempre le stesse cose. Un pó esagerato che ne dite? É comunque stato un meraviglioso soggiorno che consiglio.

The property is situated on an island and is accessible by a small boat. Our room was right by the water so we spent many hours relaxing and watching the boats go by. Staff were very attentive and amusing.

There was nothing not to like but maybe a little more attention needs to be taken of cleaning patio areas . The pool was exceptionally clean though.

The guy who seemed to be in charge of the place came across as a very shady disreputable character .

Had a great stay at the property.It’s a peaceful place overlooking backwaters just as the resort name says! Scrumptious food, impeccable service from staffs and the rooms are clean. Don’t miss to try their Vattayappam (steamed rice cake with lots of ghee roasted cashews and banana) and Fish Pollichadh !

The location is kind of quirky as you need to catch a little boat across the canal, it only takes 2 mins and the guy taking you across is lovely. You need to message the resort manager to find out how/ where to catch the boat. It's peaceful listening to the birds and watching the boats going past. Our room was ok Breakfast was ok The manager was pleasant. Swimming pool was lovely and clean but no shade available (a couple of umbrellas would be a good suggestion.) With some TLC this place could be great.

Our room was ok but the whole resort is in desperate need of some maintenance, while the place is lovely and clean it's looking old and worn which is a shame as it's a lovely place. Very overpriced for the facilities and the state of the rooms with mould and flaky paint everywhere. Mouldy shower curtain. Breakfast was ok no choice and no coffee offered either. With some TLC this place could be great.

We loved that this is right on the canal so you have almost the same experience as living on the house boat but the freedom to walk around and swim in a pool. The sunrise and sunset is simply beautiful. There’s a village that is close by to experience canal life. Up from the property you can talk to a person who rents kayaks or can take you on a canal tour for an affordable price

The location on the backwaters. The hotel courtyard is relaxing to sit and enjoy the boats and houseboats pass by . The birds are chirping in the background, indeed making a relaxing environment. There are mosquitoes in the evening however on request the house keeping put anti mosquito agarbatti making it comfortable again. We had occupied the villa which had a very authentic entrance. The hotel has the facility to drop you on the other side of the canal Appu is glad to ferry you accross even till 930pm.

They need to improve the kitchen services.

Absolutely a wonderful resort. It was very clean and the staffs were very accommodating as I was travelling with my young son. They were warm and welcoming. Surely coming back with my entire family

An absolutely beautiful island location in Alleppey. Superbly organised and well managed. Laxman was in touch with me beforehand to make arrangements to collect us. He provided a menu and details on how to reach the resort. We were collected from our drop off point in a small boat. As soon as we arrived, we could begin the enjoy the tranquility of Alleppey. Various areas to sit and watch houseboats sailing by! Laxman very quickly organised us a 4 hour boat trip, which was perfect. He was also quick to book us a taxi for the following morning as we were going to Kochi. The pre ordered meals were delicious. Bedrooms peaceful and quiet. We had time for the swimming pool, which we had to ourselves. I cannot praise this resort enough. Thank you, Laxman and all members of staff for our wonderful short stay.

It is very close to the Bamboo lagoon, the staff there arranged for our Boathouse and kayaking and was very approachable for any kind of help. Special mention to Laxman there, is a very helpful and kind guy.

Lakshman en zijn team waren fantastisch ! Stonden altijd klaar, iedere ochtend voor het ontbijt stond er naast de gangbare toast met jam en omelet, ook 1 of 2 Indiase specialiteiten uit Kerala klaar zodat elk ontbijt speciaal was. Enkele keren hebben we ook 's avonds in het hotel gegeten met een zeer uitgebreide menu en heerlijke gerechten. Iedereen was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam !! En een nachtje op een houseboat is wel een aanrader ! Dank jullie wel

De bedjes van het zwembad kunnen maar op 1 stand. Als dat de stand is die je wilt is het prime maar als je even wilt slapen of een boek wilt lezen, dan is het handiger als de rugleuning verstelbaar is. Wij gingen deze keer voor een rust vakantie en hebben vanuit het dorp Allepey wat tripjes gemaakt. Daardoor zaten we 2 weken op dezelfde plek terwijl er in Allepey niet heel erg veel te doen was om 2 weken mee te vullen. Voor ons dus prima, maar de volgende keer zouden we weer kiezen om er bijvoorbeeld 4 dagen te blijven en dan weer door naar een andere plek te reizen.

De locatie langs het water is zeker een top. Je waant je in een paradijsje. De kamers zijn comfortabel alleen een beetje krap om de bagage te zetten. Er wordt door Lacksman, de steeds aanwezige medewerker, zeer regelmatig contact genomen om te vragen of alles naar wens is. Je verblijft enkele kilometers van het centrum maar een Tuktuk of taxi wordt zonder problemen geregeld. Je komt er met een roeiboot die eveneens 24/7 beschikbaar is. Het aanwezige zwembad geeft de nodige luxe in de broeierige omgeving Alleen zou iets meer schaduw aan het zwembad welkom zijn

Aangezien je iets buiten het centrum zit is er weinig te doen in de omgeving en het eten dient vooraf besteld te worden. De gerechten zijn niet slecht maar we aten beter op andere plaatsen

The location is wonderful on the canal. It is so interesting to watch all of the activity on the canal and to see the tourist houseboats ride by. The decors is modern and tasteful. Rooms actually look better in person than on the website. The pool is large, in a pretty garden setting and so warm. Breakfast was tasty with fresh juice. The service was extremely good with the staff working hard to make guests comfortable. I like that you order your meal in advance. That way it assures that ingredients are fresh. I wish that I had stayed longer at Bamboo Lagoon Backwater. The canoe ride over makes you feel like you are having an adventure. I took the canoe ride that went down smaller canals and past tribal villages. I really enjoyed that the boat owner took me to his house, where his wife served tea. This was a fascinating experience.

Initially it was hard to locate, as my taxi driver did not know that the hotel was on an island.

The resort was very peaceful and our room was great. We spent most of the time relaxing on the balcony watching houseboats go by. Only one other couple were at the resort whilst we were staying here. We were well looked after.

Food options were a bit limited but the resort is on an island so this is understandable.

The location on the island is amazing. Taking the small boat to the other side whenever you want. Staff is very friendly , rooms clean. Lakshman did a good job and it felt like we had a personal assistant.

Like many other reviews, the food is just not good. Is very bland/tasteless. Its better to eat in alleppey.

Cozy and comfortable stay right at the edge of the backwaters. The property is accessed via a boat that is organized by the resort, on call. The staff was super helpful and responsive, especially Lakshman who organised almost everything for us - auto, shikara boat, food deliveries and so on. Location of the resort is picturesque and really gives an amazing experience of Alleppey. Ammentities were nice, such as the pool, breakfast was great, rooms were maintained nice and clean. It rained heavily during our stay but no issues caused by that.

The access is only through boat, but that’s the charm. Since the property has only 6 rooms, interaction with other guests can be quite limited.

The food was really bad. Choices were fewer as I understand that it is an island resort. But whatever food they make, it should have a minimum quality.

The hotel amenities exceeded expectations — the pool area was pristine,, and the on-site restaurant served some of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Breakfast each morning was fresh, varied, and delicious. Location-wise, it was perfect: close to local attractions but quiet enough for restful nights. We had a wonderful and truly relaxing stay. The homemade food was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally courteous and attentive. Special thanks to Mr. Lakshman and Vidhu for their warm hospitality. The deluxe villa was comfortable and well-maintained. Overall, it was a memorable and pleasant experience.

One area for improvement would be the maintenance of the surroundings, including the pool area and the space behind the property, which could be better cared for.

The hospitality was on point. Laxman, the manager of the property, was always there to help us with any or every small thing. The breakfast was fresh and adequate for each of us. The rooms were comfortable and the view was unbeatable.

Nice restaurant food, no choice for breakfast - but big and good. Location is far enough from busy city, quite and green. There are no autos there, you can reach the place 24hours with a country boat.

A small and very peaceful resort in the heart of the backwaters. The property can be reached only by a small rowing boat which picked us up very close to the private parking lot in front of the property, which was quite easy to find (even if the road leading to it is quite narrow). The boat is always available, and it didn’t limit us in any way. It directly faces a big backwater canal, which can get quite busy, but the atmosphere inside the resort is absolutely quiet and relaxed. We had a Villa and a double room. Both rooms are really big, very clean, comfortable and have a very nice style. The garden surrounding the small houses is extremely beautiful. We didn’t have time to use the pool, but we had dinner in the garden, and it was amazing. The staff was super friendly, took care of all our requests promptly and helped us booking a car transfer. They serve good food, which must be ordered in advance.

While the secluded position is very nice, it could be difficult to get around without a car, since it’s far from the center of Alleppey. The indoor dining area is nice, but it doesn't quite match the beautiful rooms. Moreover, no breakfast buffet is available, which would be a nice addition. Mind that each room has its own water heater, and its unmarked switch is outside the bathroom (not very intuitively). It would be nice to have it marked or at least to explain it at the check-in, since ours was initially off. But those are all minor things :)

We had a great 2 night stay at Bamboo Lagoon. Our room (with a patio) was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They arranged a backwater trip on a shikara for us and also a taxi back to Kochi.. Breakfast was plentifu, tasty, and was served at the table. We ate here both evenings. The meals were delicious and very good value. We particularly enjoyed sitting out watching all manner of boats pass by and having a swim in the pool.

Probably the nicest accommodation I stayed at in South India. It is build directly facing a stretch of the Backwater. You have to take a canoe type boat to access and leave the hotel, but that is available whenever you need it. You can sit on your balcony and watch the houseboats going by, hundreds of them. But its a very quiet and peaceful hotel. In fact, if you stay here, there is no need to take a houseboat tour, just take a shikara tour on the smaller waterways. The rooms are lovely.

The pool was great, but like most pools in India it lacked shade. The umbrella needs replacing.

Bamboo Lagoon resort was great for our stay. The resort is facing the backwaters and you arrive from your vehicle on the opposite side. From there you'll have to take a small boat and cross to the other side. The boats are available all day. Taking the boat ride every time was a unique experience. We had arrived in Alleppey at 6AM in the morning and even though it was not the check in time, the staff allowed us early check in and were extremely helpful. Especially Laxman. He catered to all our needs. All during the stay, the staff were courteous and helpful. The property is nice, clean and green. There are 6 rooms/cottages with all facilities inside. The front porch area is relaxing and since it faces the backwaters, you can just sit all day and watch the houseboats go. There is a pool as well which is big enough and has deck chairs too. All in all it was a pleasant stay for us.

The breakfast options were a bit limited. There is no buffet style breakfast. The options daily were also just 2 dishes, bread and eggs and fruits/fruit juice. Atleast they have provide 4-5 options. The taste was good but yes complimentary breakfast options should be increased.

Lovely boutique hotel on the other side of a canal. The boatman was always available Very helpful staff who can set up trips and tuk tuks. Food can be ordered and was delicious. Our room was one of the deluxe ones and was spacious with a shared outdoor space. Nice bathroom. Very good value.

Cute little hotel in a beautiful peaceful area. Away from the noisy and busy town. Accessible only by canoe which gives it even more charm. We stayed in a top floor room with the lovely balcony and views of the canal and passing boats. The room was comfortable and had everything that we needed. Staff were really friendly and quick to help with anything we wanted. They organised us boat/ kayak trips and massage sessions. They also serve huge delicious meals in the restaurant or in the lovely garden.

Bamboo Lagoon was our favourite place we stayed at in India! Our room was comfortable, clean, and right on the river. The resort is peaceful and perfect for relaxing while you watch boats go down the famous Alleppey backwaters! Its very quiet while still being a short 15-20min tuk tuk from the main town. All the staff were extremely friendly and were happy to help us organise tuk tuks and food. Getting the canoe across when going to town was a highlight!

Very cool location! We enjoyed sitting on the porch and observing houseboats roam by while waving back to the passengers. The room was big and comfy, also has a smart tv to enjoy Netflix, YouTube in the evening :) Has a beautiful green garden and relaxing swimming pool, we really enjoyed having a swim there. The staff is great, always there and ready to help you with everything! Big thanks to Lakshman who helped us with taxis, food, and other requests! Overall, amazing value for the price!

The AC makes a lot of noise so a bit hard to keep it on during sleeping hours.

Perfect location and well maintained property. Staff was very courteous and responsive. Rooms although small were adequate for a couple. Good value for money.

Food was below average. The dinner was bland and not at par with property standards. Breakfast was still better but had very limited options. My suggestion to property would be to hire a better chef.

Lovely location and fantastic staff onsite who were very accommodating. They were happy to serve us our food at our room rather than us coming to the restaurant.

Pool was hazy and one of the rooms had a major drainage issue, even after they cleaned it we had to close the bathroom and use the bathroom in the adjoining room.

Could not sleep well with noisy AC unit. They kindly let us sleep in another room on the second night but it also had a noisy unit just outside.

The property is right on the waterside and it’s delightful to sit and watch the boats go by. The pool was of a reasonable and kept clean. Staff were kind and accommodating they even offered us a choice of rooms on day 2 when they became available. Vimal and Lakshman made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible and they assisted us with trips and onward travel arrangements.

There was nothing I disliked about this property, perfect for the price bracket.

Pool timings were excellent.Lakhman, the staff who was in charge of the days we stayed was exceptional and extremely professional.we would definitely go back to Bamboo Lagoon on our next trip to Kerala.
