Perfect location for my needs. Lovely character villa & being greeted with a pot of tea on arrival was a nice touch. The supplied breakfast was over & above expectations & so good.

Pauline was a wonderful host. She provided a lovely breakfast and cooked an omelette for me everyday while I was staying there. She was very friendly and easy to talk with. She made me feel very at home.

The staff was kind and friendly. I had a comfortable stay. It was a really good time.

Xie gezellige en gastvrijer ontvangst en gesprekken met de eigenaar (ook Nederlandse van oorsprong). We hebben heel veel met elkaar uitgewisseld over het leven in Nederland en Nieuw Zeeland. Ook gesproken over het schrijven van gedichten en liedjes over het leven.

Het matras had iets beter gekund. Helaas heb ik daardoor wat slecht geslapen.

Paulina is an exceptional host. Her breakfast was amazing and delicious. Her conversation stimulating and she has a wealth of local knowledge. Her home is a unique, peaceful and beautiful villa set on a hill overlooking the city, but easy access and a lovley walk. I would highly recommend Paulina's home as a place to stay, explore the city and recuperate. .

Wonderful array of breakfast options & delicious menu

I liked everything about the accommodation. The house itself is beautifully restored and decorated, the room comfortable and warm, lovely touches like underfloor heating in the bathroom and the host provides a wonderful breakfast.

The host was amazing, kind, and we were greeted with an amazing cup of tea and relaxed conversation. The views, accommodation, and wealth of information provided by the host were exceptional. The breakfast provided was made with love. From start to finish, both my partner and I loved our stay.

One our favourite places in our seven-month round the world trip. The apartment is huge! Full of light. Loved the terrace, the kitchen, the stunning gardens, the water.....I could go on.

I love the room's interior! Felt homey, my room had all the essentials I needed. It’s clean and very organised—thanks to the lovely host who anticipated her guest's needs. Paulina is the best! She made us a delicious omelette for breakfast. She’s very accommodating! 💗

Excellent location, close to town centre. A hidden gem. Comfortable and cosy. Paulina is a great host showing us everything and having a list of great restaurants and things to do in Nelson. We had terribly dirty car windows, luckily Paulina even had glass cleaner and paper towels!

This is a gorgeous villa in a beautiful garden setting, presented beautifully. It has a functional little kitchen and a bohemian feel.

The owner and host is marvellous, with attention to detail for all comforts. The included breakfast is inspired, special and delicious. A very relaxing oasis.

Wat een pittoreske plek in een fijn stadje in Victoriaanse sfeer. Het uitzicht op de schitterende tuin is prachtig. De lodge is sfeervol met een fijne veranda. Binnen is een gezellige ruimte gemaakt van mooie materialen. Alles is met zorg en smaak gedaan. Het ontbijt van Pauline is een exclusieve traktatie met veel keuze en met aandacht bereid; het was heerlijk!!

A very nice and cozy house to spend a night. Room is spacious and comfortable, and everything is clean. There are tea and coffee in the room. Close to the city center but without all the buzzing noise. Plenty of spaces to park on the street. The host is very friendly, love the breakfast.

There is no common kitchen.

Excellent location with easy parking. Stroll down the hill to central Nelson. It was clear that we were shaing a bathroom and that worked. Our balcony cute,with good view. Nice place for a glass of wine. Superb breakfast. Paulina very helpful and interesting.

Fantastische tuinstudio in alle rust met mooie vijver en ideale ligging dicht bij Grampians Walkway. Alle nodige faciliteiten en comfort. Prachtige inrichting en ecologische sfeer.

Geen aanmerkingen. Alles was zoals we gehoopt hadden en beter. We hebben een klein beetje moeite gehad met de wandeling berg-op dus voor sommigen is een taxi misschien nodig.

We were made to feel so welcome by Paulina in her beautiful home. What a find! We had an upstairs bedroom with a balcony and a fantastic view. We shared a bathroom across the landing which was not a problem for us. An extensive breakfast was made for us with some unique touches. The omelettes were delicious.

Eine liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung mit allem Komfort. Schöne Terrasse mit Blick auf den wunderbaren Garten, mit Bachlauf und Gartenteich, phantastisch! Völlig ruhig, uneinsehbares Grundstück. Sehr nette Gastgeberin, die viele Tips zu Nelson geben kann. Das Zentrum ist fußläufig gut erreichbar.

The property is a tranquil haven surrounded by beautiful gardens and ponds. Inside, the cottage is charming and very tastefully decorated and furnished showing a real eye for detail. Paulina is a most accommodating host - we wish we could have stayed longer; next time…?

The villa was quite dated and seating not all that comfortable.The entrance was down a very steep drive with no hand rail which would have been impossible for elderly guests or those with mobility issues.

Paulina was very welcoming and provided good information about Nelson. The breakfast was wonderful! Lots of variety and a home cooked omelette. Her house is gorgeous and we had a little balcony overlooking the garden. I can highly recommend Joya Gardens. Great walking tracks on the doorstep.

It was old world, but beautifully maintained, with a classic styling , very spacious , with lovely comfy furniture , a great bed, lovely bathroom,extensive kitchen, and even an outside veranda overlooking a beautiful quiet garden with a spacious three seater lounge seat with a table in front, and as you arrive , the lovely owner Paulina greets you and shows you around , perfect stay!

Besonders hervorzuheben war das außergewöhnlich gute Europäische Frühstück mit sehr viel Liebe von der Gastgeberin zubereitet und die vielen Tips die ich bekommen habe. Der Blick von meinem sehr schönen Balkon war traumhaft und das Zimmer ist mit Liebe und hochwertigen Möbeln eingerichtet.

Individual property with very friendly host. We had great views from our small balcony over the garden and Nelson. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Vegan breakfast was very tasty with lots of care taken by owner over preparation.

Ein tolles großes Apartment mit gemütlichem Bett. Schöne Terrasse mit Blick in den Garten und ins Grüne.

Leider kam nachts ein starker Wind auf und es schlug dauernd etwas an, wo und was könnten wir nicht herausfinden, aber leider war so trotz verkehrsberuhigten Lage kein schlafen ohne Ohropax möglich.

Host was amazing and very attentive. Breakfast was lovely. Very taste omelette.. We relaxed and enjoyed the balcony views all evening. Thankyou.

Paulina was lovely and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and get us on our way to the wedding we were in town for! Couldn’t recommend her place enough!

The driveway was very steep but fine for us and well worth the beautiful terraced garden outlook!

We had a lovely time at Joya Garden and Villas. The room was spacious and clean, and breakfast was delicious. A perfect place for a one night stay.
