Loved the location and staff, very nice outside area to read in the evenings which let me enjoy the area even more.

The bed could have been more comfortable and there were a few amenities missing from the room (tissues and glasses). Suggest a heater for the pool as a future improvement

My room was on the inner courtyard with a pool and loungers. Big overhang outside the room with patio table and chairs, felt like a southern resort. Very short walk to the beech (pics)

Great family friendly place to stay. The small pool is great for toddlers & small children. The cleaning staff was awesome & very friendly.

They need to be clear on their pet policies. There are no signs saying that pets can’t be on the property. They allow pets but they cannot leave the rooms or be on the prop grounds.

Dirty, lots of different color hair on bed sheets, they promised me to chenage them but no one ever did in two days. Noise portable A/C and funny smell inside washroom and outside of the apartment.

The location was good.

The management was not flexible and was dismissive. Not very customer friendly. Did not listen to our concerns or reasons. We booked through a third party, and he refused to honor the price match and change the number of people in the room from 3 to 2, as the third person wanted to book her own room with her pets. Before arriving, the third party tried connecting with the property, and the manager failed to respond. Once at the property, we advised the manager that they tried connecting with him, and he advised that he never received the emails that were sent to him, but after talking to the third party minutes later, the manager had responded once we left the office. He stated that he would have denied the request anyway. He also said it was between the third party and me to reimburse me for the additional fees. Felt like he was not being truthful. The property did end up getting an extra booking for 2 nights, so it seemed unreasonable for the property not to adjust the rate for the original booking. The one coffee pouch they provided was terrible. No sweetener or stir sticks. Not very clean. The fridge did not have a freezer. No Kleenex provided like other properties. The sheets on the bed did not look like they were fresh. The pet policy is horrible. If you have pets, they cannot come into the courtyard, and there is nowhere for them to relieve themselves, and there would be an extra fee charged if it were found that they did. The pool needs some work. The cleaning equipment was left in the pool and on the pool deck. Tiles were broken, and the pump and filters were exposed, and I'm not sure if this is a safety issue if you have young children in the area, so keep close watch on them, as it does face the children's pool and it is not fenced off. We were only booked for two nights, and even if we had only stayed for one night, we would still be charged the full rate for both nights, so we ended up staying for both nights.

Accommodation was clean but very basic.

No coffee maker but cups and coffee. When we asked at reception after checking we were questioned about whether we were correct about the missing coffee maker. After explaining that we did not have a coffee maker the young man at reception indicated he would make sure we had a coffee maker. After our stay ( 2 nights) the said coffee maker never appeared!

Old style motel with pool + grass area/bbq s in middle with car parking on the outside perimeter. Good for families. Property well maintained and units clean. Great pub and beach just a block away with nice coffee shop and italian restaurant across the road. Also family amusement park within walking distance.

Well the bathroom was small but that's how it was built in the 60's.

It was well maintained and had lots of seats. It is only 400 m from the beach and the pool was fantastic.

The bbqs were not very clean. A large family took over all three bbqs and all the seating outside for their own use for 2 of our nights. It was uncomfortable to access. It would have been helpful if the staff had spoken to the family to ensure other guests could use the facilities

Good location

Hotel needs some work, doors sagging, paint cracking, baseboards missing, spider webs on ceilings, balcony loose, stairs have some soft spots, loose linoleum, tripping hazards, rooms need painting. It’s a good location so why not invest in a little facelift. The courtyard was nice with all the flowers.

Direkt am vielbefahren Highway. Auch nachts immer viel los. Pool war total überfüllt. Keine Chance in Ruhe zu schwimmen.

The location was great

The cleanliness was lacking tenfold There were literal feces on the supposed to be clean towels. There was drops of blood on the sheets. And damage on the walls.

Place was messy , keys didn't work and we asked to get them replaced never happened. Pool is not heated at all , parking is a free for all and not by unit . Blind didn't work or the TV . Looks like the people before felt the same and were screaming and crying into the pillow case which is evident from the mascara on the pillow case.

Housekeeping was pretty nonexistent. One time our room was missed altogether. The only reason we knew there was housekeeping was because of the 1 packet of coffee left in the room.

Everything was excellent

We stayed here during the lead-up to a major holiday, so prices were inflated and options were limited. We were put in an adjacent building which seemed to be a house in the process of being converted to rooms. The room we were given was incredibly cramped and unfinished. They seemed to have thrown together whatever old junk they could find to "finish" the room. Noise level - we were told that the pool closed at 10pm, but when I went out briefly at 11:30pm, people were still partying in the pool, yelling and splashing. I'm glad we were not staying in one of the pool-adjacent rooms! Around 12:30am the party apparently moved to our building, with screaming and laughing continuing two floors above us until around 2am. This is what you get for ~$400 CAD / night at the Sahara Courtyard Inn & Suites.

Grounds, ease of access, pool, amenities (kitchen in suite, 3 BBQs and tools available, flexibility. I initially ordered a regular 2 queen room, but needed more space and was able to upgrade to a family suite to fit us all comfortably. Staff were helpful and nice.

The family suite smelled like cigarette smoke. There were towels stuffed in the wall in an opening around the AC unit, and some cracked tiles in kitchen and bathroom. One bedroom window was missing a screen.

Amenities were not good, it’s just an old Inn hostel. One of my family fell down on the stairs because they’re broken. No one answered the phone which was given at the booking, somehow I found a different number. No first aid kit. A staff said he knew that the situation, but I didn’t get how they gave the room to customers or at least didn’t mention it to be careful.

The property looks beautiful in the photos, and in some ways it really is. The green areas are well maintained, and the surroundings are pleasant. However, there were several issues that significantly affected our stay. The biggest problem was cleanliness in the common areas. There were cans, cookie wrappers, water bottles, and other trash scattered around the property. When we arrived, I assumed there had been a recent gathering and that everything would be cleaned up the next day. However, we stayed for three days and two nights, and the same garbage remained there from the day we arrived until the day we left. Although I saw staff cleaning the rooms, the common areas appeared to be completely neglected. The exterior of the rooms also looked dirty and poorly maintained, even though the inside of our room was clean. Another issue was that our toilet did not have a seat lid. I was traveling with my dog and my young child, who has recently started opening doors on his own. This became quite inconvenient because he would enter the bathroom and try to play with the toilet water. I reported the issue several times to the receptionist on the day we arrived. I was told that a lid could be installed or that we could be moved to another room, but neither solution was ever provided. What was even more disappointing was that the concern was minimized, and it seemed as though they doubted that my child could open the bathroom door. As a paying guest, I believe it is reasonable to expect basic amenities such as a proper toilet seat and lid, or at least some form of compensation when such issues are not resolved. Overall, this property has a lot of potential due to its location and outdoor spaces, but the poor cleanliness of the common areas and the disappointing customer service left a negative impression on our stay.

The room we booked was well furnished and the bed comfortable. We made limited use of the kitchen (mostly the fridge and glassware) but it was well stocked for two.

We were unaware that our room and balcony were overlooking highway 3 rather than the pool courtyard and ended up not using the balcony at all, which was the only reason we selected the larger room. Also, the shower curtain rail was a "friction fit" one that kept falling off. This was annoying but we couldn't get it to hold better.

Great layout with the courtyard. Rooms need a major overhaul/updating. Overall clean and quiet. Water was hot.

Balconies in the queen room suite were nice.

The 'queen room balcony suite' is in another building, a house across the street from the motel. We were told it is the house that the owners live in. So, it felt very much like an Air Bnb, not a motel/hotel stay. It felt like you were staying in their guest room, and it was not equipped as a hotel would be- No hand soap in the bathroom, no room cleaning or service, no trash cans, no telephone to call the front desk and ask...! The room was not super clean either- cob webs on the curtains, one of the light fixtures was broken. So, not good value for money at all- It was more like an overpriced Air Bnb experience, which is not what we signed up for.

It is techinally dog-friendly, but I got a weird room in a dark hallway and the dog wasn't allowed to go into the courtyard part of the hotel so we didn't have an opportunity to enjoy the hotel itself.

Convenience

The room was very cold and we were not able to adjust the température controller. The sofa bed mattress needs changed.

Our 3 month stay wasn't without its challenges but the owners Gary and Mani went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our stay. I would 100% recommend for anyone who wants decent accommodations managed by a family who treats you like one of them.

Immaculate grounds, parking room was newly renovated, spotlessly clean and the bed was perfect.

The room was cheap and now we know why.

We got given a room that’ wasn’t cleaned properly. The main bedroom had soiled bed (pee) in it and it looks like the previous guest made the mess, the cleaners changed the sheets and did not change the bed topping. So obviously soiled the new sheets…. I spoke to the front desk to have it cleaned the next morning as it was late at night, when we discovered this.. I asked if they could do it at 10 AM because we had children. They said they would and the room wasn’t clean till 1 PM.. We went back into the room at 2 pm and the bed that we have requested to be clean was not clean the other two beds were… so I just tracked down the cleaners and asked for sheet sheets and changed it myself. The owners didn’t apologize and or cared when I went to the front desk I was not happy about this. The floors has food stuck to them and they were not washed properly. We asked for cooking trays and bowls to put food in and they couldn’t provide this, for us so having a kitchenette with not the right supplies. Made it hard for us to feed all the kids! Never had that happen during a stay . The one will provided had a crack in it even. On top of that when we went out for dinner on Saturday night and returned, our key cards did not work. The front desk was closed so they tried to obviously lock us out of the hotel room.. we had three key cars that worked prior to going for dinner…. Mmmmm So glad we left a window opened to get inside… If they would’ve apologized and give us a discount on our stay, we would have not wrote this review, but given that we never got an apology or the room cleaned properly and or maybe not locked out of our room…. the final night things would have been different.

We were very happy with the room. It is has been updated and was clean. The access to the pool and the lovely outdoor space only added to our comfort and a true vacation feel.

The only noticeable thing that would need some attention would be to purchase new towels. They were worn and stained.

Let me start off right away with the fact we did not actually end up staying here. Our review is based on the, what we consider, lack of any customer care due to a late booking cancellation. Nine days before our reservation date, my mom passed away suddenly, leaving me the only child to care for another elderly parent. We had three bookings all with VBRO or Expedia. The two VBRO rentals gave us our full refund even though their cancellation timelines were far shorter, one location even refused to take our administrative fee from us. When we contacted Sahara Courtyard directly, on the advice of Expedia, who tried to discuss with the owner on our part, they indicated they would think about a refund. We sent along a note explaining the situation and my mom's death certificate. We waited a week and then reached out again, no response. So we figured we would let folks know good old fashioned, considerate customer care is not alive and well here. So we didn't stay here, this review is about customer care and I wouldn't recommend it based on our experience. And before folks get all "small businesses need to take care of themselves", it was nine days notice at a motel - it wasn't late notice.

Halloween themed room without us asking for it… Spider Webs, mosquitoes flying around the room, chair having some stains and cuts that resemble torture chamber. Zero noise insulation in the room so you get to hear everything that is happening around you. Cherry on top was horrendously uncomfortable mattress that completed the stay experience. If you are considering this place, just do yourself a favour, spend additional $10-20 and get any other place around there.

Very helpful, nice attentive staff

The bed is comfy - so, that's good. Swimming pool is good for a dip and some short length swim. Room floor is dirty - took my shoes off to go shower and the underside of my feet is blacken - obviously not mopped. The sink's tap fitting is loose. The shower curtain is dirty. It doesn't go all way down to floor (it's a shower stall) and bathroom floor gets wet. The TV remote is sticky. And of course, the advertised picture is not like what I expected to get.

Easy check-in and staff very obliging. The room was small but everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Financially viable for us and pet friendly. We would return.

I booked the hotel and there was an option to check in early (1pm) for an extra fee. The hotel was practically empty so not sure this was necessary. The outdoor pool was cloudy so we went swimming at the lake which is very close - 2 min walk. The family room was good with our own big deck. The inside courtyard is the best part of this hotel. There is potential here but TLC is needed. I would not stay here again.

The first night in our hotel room, the air conditioner made a loud noise every 30 seconds. We ended up turning it off and opening the cracked/taped window for fresh air. Which was ok until other guests parked right outside our room left at 6:00am. We went to the desk in the morning to request to be moved to another room. They ended up installing a new air conditioner. Thank you for that. The rooms were clean. The property does need some some upgrading as it is an older property. Lounge chairs around the pool were torn. There was a hole in our bathroom wall that had what looked like kleenex stuffed in it. As they are going into their Off season, now would be a good time for them to do some work.

Die Zimmer haben zwar alle eine Klimaanlage, aber die befindet sich innen direkt neben dem Bett ca. 40 cm entfernt und ist super super laut. Man kann unmöglich mit laufender Klimaanlage schlafen. Wenn sie ausgeschaltet ist, wird es 5-10min später innen extrem warm. Wir waren beide Nachts komplett durchgeschwitzt. Ok waren halt tagsüber 37 C in Osoyoos aber was bringt es wenn die Zimmer tagsüber kühl sind wenn man nicht da ist.
