Close to town, good for walking as it was flat

Executive Suite with spa was exceptional, clean and provided everything we needed for a three night stay. Host at reception was friendly very helpful and made some great suggestions for local day visits/activities. We highly recommend The Sails and would happily book again if we visit Nelson again.

So clean and fresh and lovely decor. It felt so welcoming. And a proper feather duvet so no horrid synthetics ! Very nicely done.

Bed mattresses quite soft but that's a personal taste thing. Still very comfortable.

The staff were very friendly and hospitable, nothing we asked was a bother. Really great and easy to use laundry facilities. The one bedroom apartment had a real homely feel and everything we needed for our two nights stay was provided.

It’s a really good spot. The room is a nice size and the lady at reception was very pleasant.

The cleaning of the bathroom needs to be more thorough. Mould build up on the window edges etc.

A really lovely apartment that was very clean and all amenities you could possibly need. Great location and although on a corner with quite a busy street, we weren't kept awake by road noise. On site laundry available too. Nice walk into town.

The hotel room was clean and roomy with a very comfortable bed. We would definitely come again to Nelson and stay at the Sails hotel. We would highly recommend the Sails Hotel. Also very centrally located.

We spent 2 nights at Sails, a first rate motel in a great location near the center of Nelson. Our room had a spa tub, with strong water jets and plenty of hot water for a great hot tub experience, especially after a day in Abel Tasman National Park. Dave and Cherie were great hosts, and went beyond the norm. My wife had an early morning video call, and they let her use the office. WiFi is excellent, and so is the kitchenette. This was an excellent choice for us, we highly recommend it.

Sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet, sogar mit Badewanne und einer kleinen Küchenzeile mit Kaffeemaschine, sowie Wasserkocher für Tee. Wir konnten unseren Campervan kostenlos auf dem Innenhof parken.

Loved everything about staying at The Sails from my first greeting, room was beautiful, Very clean, close to town I cant fault their service or rooms . Bed was so comfortable. My stay was so good I booked a 3rd night .

Well equipped large room and bathroom situated just as you come into Nelson. Friendly staff.Woolworths close by just up room so you can buy food. First thing in morning, there is the traffic noise as on main road but don't let that put you off. can recommend.

Six of us (3 couples) had a delightful three-night stay at Sails as we explored the Nelson area and Abel Tasman. What a great surprise! The apartments are clean, spacious and well-appointed. Managers Cherie and her husband were great fun, caring and personable, with wonderful in-room breakfasts and cappuccino fixings in the room. The location is perfect for downtown restaurants. We've stayed at high-end hotels that don't match the experience of this charming little place. Highly recommended!

The Sails is in a good spot, close to town. We had a one bedroom unit and the place was exceptionally clean. The bed was too hard for me but my partner loved it.

We were downstairs so right by the corner of the road, buses came past so it was a bit open for my liking.

We would give this a 5 except for the location, which is on Trafalgar Street, with many rooms right on the street. The hosts were great and the room, bed and pillows were excellent. It’s a short walk into town and there is parking available for your vehicle.

My wife and I have just spent five nights in the Sails Motel in Nelson. Right from the very warm and cheerful welcome which we received on our arrival, we knew that we had made an excellent choice: our allocated room was fresh and airy with the bathroom and kitchen facilities first class. The fact that the motel even offered beach towels for our visits to the nearby Abel Tasman national park spoke volumes - we have stayed in motels in the past but have never before experienced this level of attention to guest detail! In addition, the fact that the motel was located a very short walk away from the town was a very welcome bonus on the evenings when we chose to eat out! All of this said, what really made our stay at the Sails memorable was the friendliness and helpfulness of the husband and wife managerial team of Cherie and Dave. Nothing - and I mean nothing - was too much bother with both always ready to share their extensive local knowledge and make recommendations, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed and none of which we would have come across under our own steam. The owners of the Sails are very fortunate indeed to have such a managerial couple: their bonhomie and infectious sense of humour combined with their patience and “can do” attitude undoubtedly contributed to our lovely experience of Nelson and its surrounding area. The only thing, which was out of their control, was that it was a little noisy with an event at The Italian Club next door - but honestly, that was out of their control, and really not a big deal. It did not go on for too late really.
