Location was good not far fron the town centre only a short drive. We had a beautiful view. The staff was very helpful.

The design/angles of units to create privacy. The beds/pillows. The outlook. Tuis, faintails and gorgeous sunset. #6 The gas fire. The bedroom separation and extra room/single garage. Water bottles. Kitchen facilities. Laundry. Entertainment space. Sky sports.

Path to pool would be cool.

We loved that the Bach was warm when we arrived. It’s mid winter so that was important. We found the beds cosy and comfortable. We loved the peaceful environment

Such a great spot! So clean and had everything you would need! Beautiful property and lovely having a heated pool and tennis court. We had such a lovely time and would love to come back. Michael was very kind and helpful with check in!

We stayed at Riverside Matakana for one week and it completely exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, The 30 acres of landscaped grounds, vineyards, and olive groves felt like an escape from the world. Our bach was spacious, modern, and well appointed – Kiwi bach style but with luxury finishes. Our number 9 two-bedroom, two-bathroom layout was perfect for us. The kitchen was fully equipped (everything we needed for self-catering), and we used the outdoor, undercover Weber BBQ to cook our meals. The living area had a cosy fireplace, and the cosy, private deck offered stunning views across the Matakana Valley and river. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the showers were great and the place was spotlessly clean. The location – just a short drive to Matakana Village, wineries, market and cinema as well as beautiful beaches like Omaha (15 mins away). A short one hour drive and you're back in Auckland city. The host, Michael was genuinely friendly and helpful, providing great local recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. It felt personal and attentive without being intrusive. Pama, the housekeeping manager was a breath of fresh air - breezing by the bach every second day to offer us a huge smile, more complimentary water and see if we wanted our unit cleaned. If you’re after a relaxing, high-quality stay in the heart of Matakana wine country this is your place – Riverside is a 10 out of 10

I could have done with a reading light adjacent to bed by lounge. Had to use the bathroom light which also activated the fan which was a little noisy

The peacefulness and location

The configuration of the rooms in the main cabin were most unusual half of living area had no use . Also lack of storage space for food and clothing, tricky entrance way for an older couple

Enjoyed our weekend away at Riverside Matakana. Was a great base for a local wedding and the pool and river were lovely places to spend some downtime. Accommodation was clean and well looked after.

We loved the relaxing beautiful scenery! The bach was comfortable and clean. Our kids really enjoyed the pool. The location is great - an easy drive to beaches like Omaha.

This is my second time staying here with my family. Loved the grounds, cleanliness of the place and the heated pool!!!

There weren't enough toiletries, only 2 of each and we were a family of 4.

Property contains everything expected in this type of accommodation and includes numerous other things. We did not expect a washing machine and dryer, nor dishwasher and TV with access to Sky channels [not all], Netflix and Prime.

Potential mishap. Arrived and found my booking had been canceled. However, with 1 lodge still available, I was still able to move along with original plans.

Great location, awesome property and grounds. Had everything we needed. Internet was average but thats okay. Hard to get a bit of work done if you are trying to get paperwork etc done. Other than that played tennis, used the pool. Family loved it.

A last minute getaway and could not be happier! This was fantastic! Amazing place to stay, clean, warm, comfortable and the surroundings were beautiful. Will definitely be back to stay again.

The property was well set out and each individual unit had their own space. Was great for us and we had our own rooms. We had the unit in Winter and the heating was good and very quickly turned on

An amazing pleasant stay. Daughter got sick so had to spend the weekend indoors. The property was lovely and cosy with a gas fireplace. Had a heat pump and 2 wall heater. Was an amazing experience will defo be back .

Lovely clean modern Bach with lovely views. Private. Very comfy beds. Lovely gas fire - good heating in main house and sleep out. Bottled water provided every day. Loved that we could borrow tennis racquets free.

We did have a bit of an ant problem with any food left out but it wasn’t a major problem and there was insect spray to kill them.

Very spacious place, surrounded by lovely gardens. Very friendly staff and the fireplace was very welcome with the rain. We loved it so much we already booked for our way back.

Someone with I guess fresh linnens was parked in front of our units livingroom with running engine at 9 am. She sat there for at least 15 minutes. We kind off got the idea she was waiting for us to leave as we were the only guests in the section.

Great location. Amazing views and so peaceful. Loads of native birds singing and flying by. The 'bach' was so cosy and comfortable with both a fire and a heat pump. So relaxing!!

The Villas are beautiful! Felt private, beautiful views. Comfortable and quiet. Perfect for any sized families or a couple. We loved the pool. Perfect for any time of year! We can’t wait to come back in winter and stay cozy with the fireplace! Perfect location, close to markets and town centre. And at a good price point too. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, thank you!
