The pool is in good size and beautiful location of the hotel

The hotel is bit far from city centre for shopping and food. Need to call taxi for in and out. Only 2 round of shuttle transfer to and from airport which should be more frequent

Only reason I needed this hotel was I had a 40 hour stopover in Hainan on my London to Sydney flight on Hainan air (brilliant airline by the way). It did the job but I would not dream of going there for any other reason. As other reviews correctly state it's a bit dated and scruffy...by Asian standards it's a 3.5 star hotel. But plenty to like....big room big bed big telly very good breakfast very good gym and spa.. swimming pools big and clean so for the money I paid was happy. 50;yuan from airport via Didi or 100 normal taxi

Beachfront, it has a lot of swimming pools, one even has the canoe facility. Room size was big and it has plenty of delicious food for breakfast.

Definitely a bit tired and in need of some TLC, not sure if it was just our room but smelt like a former smoking room, not all facilities/restaurants open likely due to low guest numbers, bit far out but taxis are super cheap

Great hotel, very spacious and quite grand in certain areas - the lobby is beautiful. Felt airy and also clean. Very nice swimming pool space. We were welcomed by Justin who was extremely helpful. Perfect bedroom with great view of the sea and a good nights sleep on both nights. We tried the Saturday evening buffet dinner and found a lemon grass infused soup which was delicious. The restaurant staff were more than helpful. We have been trying a few hotels in this area having recently relocated to the city and this one is our favourite so far. Very good value for money.

Slightly outdated in parts and the carpets could do with some cleaning. Try putting some dehumidifiers in the corridors. No mini bar in the room which was a pity. The bar/lobby staff really need to receive some training as they seemed very inexperienced in serving drinks. They also need to stock up more on alcoholic drinks as we enjoyed one bottle of bubbly but it was the only one they had and it was warm and needed to be popped in the fridge for a while! I would avoid the lobby bar food - we tried it on the first night and it was very poor, I'm afraid. However, the buffet the following day was great and the Chinese Restaurant had a very nice looking menu choice.

Плесень в номере. Стойка душа еле держалась. Мы боялись, что она вот-вот упадет на нас. Душевая кабина протекала, поэтому вода постоянно попадала на пол ванной комнаты. Внутри отеля рестораны со шведским столом были, но не работали для нас (скорее всего, работали только для арендаторов конференц-залов), нам приходилось выезжать в город, чтобы пообедать и поужинать.

Absolutely amazing hotel. The staff can speak really good English (thank you Justin Chen) and I was even upgraded to the massive multiple rooms suite in the highest floor! 10/10 recommendation for English speaking tourists. And the breakfast is phenomenal

The smell was a bit musty, messaged the hotel for airport shuttle but they didn’t respond. The shuttle always has to be booked in advance fyi!

Отель очень понравился. Бесплатно повысили категорию номера до двухкомнатного. Номер просто 10 из 10. Убирались очень прилично, постоянно обновляли щётки и тапочки. Отель раньше был очень пафосный, сейчас немного уставший, но в целом не на столько чтобы выговаривать. Сейчас соотношение цены и качества полностью соответствует. Завтраки вкусные, конечно больше китайские, но и мы нашли что поесть, даже десерты очень вкусные. Получилось взять пару дней ужины, также шведский стол. Не знаю с чем связано, но в первый день было 168 юаней на взрослого , а на следующий день 138, на третий вечер вообще все было закрыто, выяснить почему так - не получилось. 10 летний ребёнок на ужин прошёл бесплатно. Ужин однозначно рекомендую, очень вкусно, очень много всего. Несколько бассейнов, один со стеклом. Пару бассейнов было закрыто. Есть контактный зоопарк: кролики и морские свинки, их можно покормить и погладить. Также есть павлины и белки. Теперь про море, печально, но не смотря на расположение отеля на первой полосе, воспользоваться им не получится. За 3 дня не увидели ни одного купающегося, море грязное. Променад тоже не особо получится полоса короткая, вечером какое-то оживление появляется, огоньки, но что именно проверить не получилось. Послушать море и насладиться бризом можно. В целом отель для спокойного времяпрепровождения. В город вызывали такси. Есть трансфер в аэропорт хайкоу.

Чистота, комфорт, внимательное отношение к гостям. Всё на высшем уровне. Очень красиво. Тренажерный зал работал 24 час., очень удобно, тренажёры хорошие, для всех групп мышц, оборудование для занятий йогой и гимнастикой, большие зеркала. Есть спа. На территории работают кафе. Для детей - детский клуб. Всё чистое, красивое и функциональное. В комнатах гладильные принадлежности, всё есть в комнатах, очень удобно и комфортно себя чувствуешь на территории отеля, есть где прогуляться. Также отель предоставил бесплатный трансфер в аэропорт на конылртабельном автобусе. Предоставляется в определенное время. Работает камера багажа. Персонал свое дело знает. Никаких вопросов к ним нет. В этом отеле прекрасное обслуживание, направленное на обеспечение конформного пребывания гостя. Тут можно отлично отдохнуть и без купания в море. Завтрак тоже соответствует пятизвездочному отелю. Спасибо за предоставление отличных услуг и комфортное пребывание.

Большой бассейн не работал, возможно, из-за малой заполняемости отеля. Но было ещё два бассейна: для детей и для взрослых. Приятные, чистые бассейны, хорошо покупаться. Море грязное, сам пляж нормальный, в отеле всё продумано, сделано с умом, комфортно. Можно прогуляться по набережной.

Service is more like a local 4 star hotel. Breakfast and buffet dinner has very less varieties. Sashimi from dinner buffet wasn’t fresh. Chefs were busy on their cellphones and reluctant to do their jobs. Isolated location.

The peacefulness of the location and the wide open spaces it offered. Extremely clean and well maintained main full size swimming pool.

Perhaps they should consider having some adults only areas specially after a certain time.

1. Nice big hotel with great ambience. 2. Clean and comfortable. 3. Huge selection of breakfast. One of the best we had so far in the entire trip. 4. Multiple lifts for the guests. Plenty of onsite amenities options including kids play area multiple swimming pools, spa and restaurants. 5. Walking distance to beach. 6. Staff helpful, polite and courteous. 7. Free shuttle to airport and duty free store. 8. The onsite store for Agarwood products were good. Bought few items , the lady was super friendly and helpful. 9. Beds were comfy and good size, rooms had proper lighting. Room size was big.

1. Coco bar good for drinks but terrible with food. Ordered 3 different food items and they were all equally bad and overpriced. Although their passion fruit drink and coffee, orange juice and latte were good. 2. Staff at the front desk were helpful but took very long time to deliver. On arrivals, the luggage to the room was delivered atleast 30min late, ditto for room service for food. They forgot to send the drinks which they offered the next day. While checking out requested luggage to be picked up from room. No one turned up.We had to bring it down ourselves. The young gentleman at the reception time was apologetic and sincere. 3. The hotel needs to change the carpets in hallway and lobby. Very worn out and the on 8th floor where we stayed had a weird smell in some areas. 4. Hotel offered airport shuttle but very limited service. 5. For a hotel this size, I was surprised that staff spoke little to no English. Maybe they are not focused on servicing international tourists.

The hotel is off the beaten track, so you need to take a taxi to reach the center of Haikou. It is very large, and in some areas signs of wear and tear are already visible.

The room is specious, clean & more than enough. The food hall & the variety of food was extra ordinary. I am a fussy eater, but there where lots of choices even for people like me. The hygiene of the place is on another level 👌 this is important to me more than anything & it exceeded my experience. The out side space & the beauty of the greenery is beautiful beyond words can express ❤️

I wish if there where a special transport service or which connects to the city, so that gusts can go in & out or amenity in the area.

The place is quite far from downtown. There is no restaurant near the hotel. The Wi-Fi was too slow and I had to use a roaming.

Мы остановились здесь на 1 ночь, т.к отель находиться недалеко от Аэропорта. Прекрасное красивое место. Приятный бассейн, вкусные завтраки. Персонал очень оперативно решал мои запросы.

Если хотите посмотреть город, придется добираться на такси примерно 15 минут. Рядом нет магазинов, а питание в самом отеле довольно дорогое.

Das Frühstücksbufett war unglaublich reichhaltig und vielseitig.

Die Anlage befindet sich neben vielen Bauruinen und ist das einzige aktive Hotel in der Umgebung. Die Stadt oder andere Aktivitäten sind nur mit Taxi zu erreichen. Der Standard entspricht nicht annähernd einem Hilton-Standard. Das Hotel ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen und bedarf einer Modernisierung. Viele Anlagen (Pools, Poolbillard, Springbrunnen, ...) waren außer Betrieb. Das Servicepersonal (außer Rezeption) war nicht gut qualifiziert. Eswurdenur an der Rezeption zum Teil englisch gesprochen.

This hotel truly feels like the Hawaii of China, peaceful, welcoming, and the perfect place to recharge. I stayed here during a short stopover before my trip back to America, and it was exactly what I needed. The receptionist was especially kind and went out of their way to help me order a taxi, making my transit smooth and stress-free. Thank you for your warm hospitality!

The hotel is located along the Meilan bay, right next to the beach. The beach was fenced off during my time for some construction work. There are many abandoned and unfinished Resorts in the neighbourhood. It’s a large sprawling property with impressive architecture. My HHoners status was recognised and I was upgraded by the friendly check in staff. The room on the top floor had a nice sea view and was reasonable in size, but in dire need of a re-furbishment. The executive lounge provided decent food and drinks during happy hours. The lounge staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast spread was decent; although the coffee machines were not functioning most of the time. Besides being outdated and in need of refurbishment, some areas of the resort looked outright shabby. Especially the defunct fountains and water features in the garden with their broken leaking pipes were the ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes, which were ever present on the balcony from late afternoon onwards. I would love to give 5 stars because of the recognition of my HHoners status and the friendly staff; but the lack of maintenance and up-keeping of the resort does not allow we to give more than 3.

The worst hilton I have ever stayed. The hardware is in a very bad condition, breakfast is like a local 3 star hotel. Breakfast service is equally bad. Checked after 11pm, the hotel has two receptionists, serving around 6-7 rooms check in, very very slow. No lift security as there in no card access to guest floors. I have to say that the bed is quite comfortable, room facilities are very old, balcony wall has broken and lack of maintenance. Executive lounge only open after 9am, which is not convenient for business travelers.

1. During Check-in, there were 7 staffs there at the lobby. They were chit-chatting and only doing the paperwork. Only 2 of them helped the guest check-in, I approached the counter and needed to ask that I want to check-in. Another 5 staff that were chit-chatting had no mindset to help guess check-in or asking. It is Hilton and I found it super unprofessional. If I hadn't ask, I would have just stood there, in one of the lines. 2. The staff that checked me in, informed me that as a diamond member, I can eat 'for free'. I knew that it was no such thing. The restaurant told me that it is only 150Y/day. I actually went back to the lobby and told the check-in staff not to provide any wrong info the guest again. 3. Nobody at Chinese Spice cant speak English, waitresses stared and laughed at me as an ASIAN FOREIGNER can't speak Chinese. That was really rude, I addressed to 2 managers but they still stared until the end of the meal. Bill was wrong, there was no Y150 deduction as a diamond member. Nobody understood that the transaction needed to show the Y150 negative and the customer was only charged for the exceeded amount. I have asked to correct it 4 times, but because no English speaker at all, It was really extremely frustrating and seemed impossible to make them understand the meaning! One of the waitresses told me that I didn't have to check the bill and just sign it, and that was the 3rd wrong bill that I asked to revise. I denied to sign (that 3rd time), and told her that of course I needed to check the bill, and why would I sign without checking plus it was a wrong charge. She was upset. At that point I had asked 5-6 times for somebody that cant speak English, I sat there and tried to have the bill correct for 20 mins. The restaurant manager came down, but with poor English, I still couldn't have him issue the revised bill that showed the negative Y150. He insisted that I have to sign the full amount and it will be deducted later. At that point, I didn't believe it at all. If sign on the full amount bill, of course I will be charged for that.

Fantastic breakfasts, very comfortable beds, and coffee capsules with two different roasts complement the comfort provided by the hotel.

The staff speaks English very poorly. Having one receptionist who is fluent in English is not enough. We had an issue with paying by credit card and had to wait for a specific receptionist to resolve the problem. It may be a minor detail, but it's always worth improving. However, everyone was very friendly and smiling.

Beautiful impressive property, spacious, clean, nice big rooms, well equipped, comfortable bed, great breakfasts, large lobby with well stocked lobby bar, two additional restaurants, nice beach and comfortable pools. Some pools are unavailable outside the weekend, some dishes that were on the menu are not available in the restaurant. A big minus from the perspective of non-Chinese guests is also the lack of communication with the staff (almost no one speaks English).

Not very good hotel that far away from Meilan international airport. And too much kids here that make lots of noise at breakfast time. And the beach looks not very well. And they would not open air conditioners on corridors and lift room. But almost room is comfortable.

it’s right near the sea. large hotel

our hotel room aircon had a musty smell and we had our 1 year old daughter who had to sleep in that the first night. it was my daughters first bday and the hotel offered to prepare a cake for her which I asked them to deliver before lunch. they ended up telling me on the day that the cake would be ready at 7pm, my daughter had no birthday cake, and it was too late for me to order one.

Stayed here for a week with family. Rooms were fantastic; comfortable, clean and well serviced. The staff were great, spoke good English and tried very hard to please. The hotel is huge and the pools and outside spaces look fantastic on the surface, but after this, it all goes wrong. Pools are not well kept. Although the landscaping is well taken care of, the pool had a lot of fallen leaves in it which were not cleaned up during the day. The advertised pool bar isn’t really

Best stay ever!

This was the worst hotel experience I have had in years. On arrival I was quoted two different prices and then told to check myself. Then was told I had only booked one breakfast which was incorrect. I received a phone to say the hotel had realise I had booked executive breakfast. The rooms where clean but very tatty, marks on the walls, cupboards and surface areas. I went the executive lounge, empty of people and executive goodies except for a jar of cookies, raisins and nuts. No juice or water. We could not see how to get tea or coffee. No wonder it was empty. We order pizza's for in room dining, they were disgusting the base where rock hard and the toppings made the children not want to finish the pizza. Breakfast was shocking the food was either cold, dry out, soggy. The noise level was extremely high, with young children running the food area. The breakfast area was massively unstaffed and we waited five minutes for our table to be clean so we could use it. Also executive breakfast was in the same place - so not such thing second time I was lied to. I had to wait 10 minute for bread for toast, then I had to wait for butter. The bacon was bone dry I had to snap it rather cut it with a knife. We checked out after the appalling breakfast a very upset total hotel experience to the end of our holiday. I choose this place because of the beach, pool and distance to the airport. Wish I hadn't! I do not normally write negative review only positives, this was so bad I think it is important others need to know what it might like for them. I will never return to this hotel and will probably not use the Hilton groups hotel again.

This is a Hilton hotel but only on the name. Nice place, for sure. Pool is big, the room are amazing but we didn’t like some things. This was a wedding trip and even if we send a message to let them know about it, any particular treatment or welcoming was done (like in all the other hotels we stayed). Pity. Breakfast is normal, nothing special even on dinner. I m sorry but I didn’t feel welcomed

I stayed here for five nights and my overall experience was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor swimming pools. The hotel provides free shuttle buses to the airport, duty-free shopping plaza and city centre. Special thanks go to Daniel Zhang, Sophia Lin, Ceka Chen, Sen Fu, Daisy Li and housekeeping team to make my stay enjoyable.

I stayed at this hotel from July 20-24 in 2020. I will list all the situations I have experienced during my stay. If you gonna stay there during the pandemic, this might able to help you. Although called "Meilan", the airport name in Haikou, you'd better not expect to get on shuttle between the hotel and the airport. The hotel offers 3 rides a day in a really limited time from 9 am to 2 pm. The lounge is closed during the pandemic. As compensation, the hotel offers dinner during the stay, which is 150 rmb per person everyday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The time restriction is really really annoying when you travel in somewhere you are not familiar. Although there is no much travelers during the pandemic, I can only get an upgrade on view as a diamond member. The following issues I had enforced may happen anytime you stay here other than in the pandemic. The lobby is really hot and there is no AC. The bar and the business center is in the lobby so it would not be a good experience to stay there during the daytime. The hotel is not located in most of the car rental companies offering on-line services(I didn't find any). And there is no car rental in the airport. So there is basically no way to rent a car in advance. The hotel agent will find a car to deliver to the hotel, but there is no invoice and I have not get my deposit back till now. There are ants around the desk in my room. I didn't have any food and only drank water in the room. The hotel cleaned it with acrid sterilized water which really impact my quality of sleep at that night. The AC in the room seems broken. No matter how I adjusted the controller, the temperature fixed at 25 Celsius degree. Not recommended. Especially during the pandemic.

The pools were great, the room was comfortable, but.... the food (except for the breakfast buffet) was really below average. We ate at the "western" restaurant and the meal was quite poor, and served with cold rice. The staff was irritated when we complained about the rice, so we ate our food and left. The big problem with this is that the hotel is so isolated that it is not easy to get to another restaurant, so you either put up with it or leave. We left.

We stayed here for one night at the end of a tour. Very relaxing. Had a late check out the next day which was very helpful. Could not fault anything. Great room, pools, food, service. Caught the local bus 87 from around the corner to go into Old Street. It would have been nice to have more time to explore the Island further as we only had time to go into Old Street, have a mineral fed spa and relax!

100 of us checked in for the final stages of our group tour and the place still felt deserted EXCEPT at breakfast time when everyone seemed to appear all at once. This hotel appears magnificent but scratch a little at the facade and you see the cracks. I think it is older that it appears and this is particularly evident in the power outlets in the rooms, light switches and musty smells in the corridors. That being said, we had a lovely room with a good shower and a comfortable bed and exceptionally attentive housekeeping staff. We did not have much success with meals during our stay. 1 x dinner in Chinese Spice, 1 x lunch in Nodu Noodle Bar and 1 x dinner in Plantation Restaurant. No/minimal English speaking staff means a lot gets lost in the translation. This is a nice hotel probably more targeted at either domestic or Russian holiday market. Service & meals not up to usual Hilton standards for westerners. Dining options particularly during the day were confusing and staff were unable to assist much due to language barrier. The beach was closed for swimming during our stay and frankly I probably wouldn't want to swim there any time. Rubbish had been collected from the beach but still covered in litter & bluebottles. Pools were lovely and surrounding gardens and grounds very peaceful. Lovely for a relaxing stroll. Hotel offers gift shop, convenience store, day spa and more. Certainly a pleasant way to end our tour of China. The Hainese people were very friendly and welcoming.

The resort/conference center is absolutely beautiful. The front facade is impressive. The huge lobby leads to the back of the hotel which is equally impressive. There are plenty of open space at the back of the hotel with reflecting pools, swimming pools, walking trails and private white sand beach. The breakfast is sumptuous with many choices of American and Asian food. The rooms are also spacious, with beautiful balcony view of the ocean. This hotel, a 15-20 minute drive from the Provincial and City government buildings and the gigantic HNA Riyue Shopping Plaza, is the perfect place to hold large company retreats.

Hilton, one word that describes your stay. If you know Hilton, you don’t need a review for this hotel. The brand has kept up to its standard as always. You will never regret staying at a Hilton Hotel.

Property is right on the beach. Unfortunately there are no beach chairs or umbrellas provided for the guests.

空港から30分の海沿いにあるホテル。外観もとても立派な感じで大きな会合に最適なホテル。朝食、ランチ、夕食など、質量とも満足できました。特にディナーを館内の中華レストランで5人でシェアしたが、とてもリーズナブルな価格で満足できました。

1. It’s far away from everything. The hotel is situated by the beach and is around 25km’s from the airport. The last shuttle from the airport to the hotel is just before 4pm. After that you need to take a taxi. The hotel suggested that the cost is around 80 CNY. Depends how good you are at negotiating with the taxi people – but basically, they started at 500 CNY. We ended up at 120 CNY. The hotel is one of the biggest I have ever seen. It’s enormous and there are many buildings which are just empty. Also, outside the hotel – the place is like a ghost town. Many homes – but all empty. No shops or restaurants nearby – you need to take a taxi if you want to get out of the hotel. There are only two restaurants – plus a bar that serves food in the evening and one further restaurant that serves Noodles – from lunchtime to 5pm. 2. It has RATS…… One evening we saw a Rat running through the Bar area where people sit. This is on the 2nd floor – or the Lobby section. We told the staff at the bar. They made a half-hearted attempt to look but did not seem to care. The next evening, we saw 2 RATS. Obviously, the first one told the second one there was easy pickings. So, by now, we are used to it – one of the evenings, we see a RAT running around the Buffet Restaurant – where the cooks are on show. 3. The Restaurants. Well apart from the fact there are rats – the restaurants are varying in performance. The Buffet Restaurant on the first floor is a disaster. They do breakfast in the morning and a buffet in the evening. Does not matter what time you turn up for breakfast – trying to find a table that has been cleared is near to impossible. Each time we had to help clear the table – and get our own utensils. Often you have to ask the staff to fill up the food buffet. It is understaffed and appears to have no management. The evening is the same – and it’s expensive – 198 CNY – about 30 USD for what it is per person. The Lobby Bar serves food and is better in cost – but takes 30 – 40 minutes before food arrives and is cold. Remember – you have to dodge the rats. The Chinese Restaurant is actually good – and reasonable in price, much less expensive than the buffet if you are with 4 people for example. 4. The Swimming Pools The photos of the hotel look impressive – but when we got there only one pool was open. A few days later another one did open. The hot tubs were all closed, and the Pool bar was not in use. In fact, it was a dumping ground for dirty towels Amazing a 5-star hotel can advertise swimming pools – and not have them open. Excuses ranged from maintenance to a recent big storm. Yet you never saw any maintenance going on. The pool that was in use – was dirty. They did not appear to clean the pools during the evening. The areas around the pool were poorly maintained – some wood sticking up, which could catch your foot before entering the pool. You had to hunt for towels as not every day would there be a supply of them. None of the staff prepared the chairs of the umbrellas – all had to be done by yourself. 5. The Beach. The beach is next to the hotel and easily accessible. It looks nice in a rugged way, but the warnings said that the sea was not safe to swim in and a Red Flag flew all day. On some days there we many large plastic bags were the local authority was clearing the beach of debris. The sea also had many Jellyfish.

Checked in on 26th July 2019. Met by friendly staff at the Reception and was promptly given our room. In fact, staff at all areas were smily and very happy to serve. From Restaurants, room cleaners, bell boys, transportation counters, management staff. For special mention was Ms Michelle Huang, who made sure we had our food served and to the best quality in The Spice Restaurant. She even gave us a complimentary fruit basket one evening and 2 glasses of red wine on another on her own account. She will speak to us to ensure we get the best every evening before she goes off to do her other management duties. Really wonderful! In the other areas, we had some minor grievances. Wife complained that the first room offered had a stale air about it. Hotel was quick to offer another one immediately. Stayed there for a few nights before we had to move again as the heavy thunderstorms, cyclonic rain wet our room badly on our 6th night. Work up and change immediately as carpet was wet and water all over the floor. Reception Staff quickly allowed us to change to another room. Overall the stay was quite memorable and the smily friendly staff at Hilton Meilan Haikou made the stay very enjoyable.

Can’t figure why such a massive hotel is located here. No noticeable attraction or business nearby. You have to book cabs to get anywhere. Amazing pools, including the Waves Pool, which has a glass side. Pool Bar looks derelict with sandbags under the water and on some of the submerged stools. Was still able to get a beer. There is access to the beach, but swimming is forbidden and the water is pretty murky. Everything about this hotel is huge, but feels empty. Massive foyer, large ball rooms, big dining area and a crazy entrance to the Chinese restaurant with a big fish tank. Service and everything was good, but I would probably prefer the Hilton Haikou for the proximity.

The hotel is new and modern. The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful especially the cleaner. The room we had was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to visitors. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Beautiful hotel with access to quiet beach.

We were bitten by the SAND FLIES at the pool area. Be careful, you will not realise you have been bitten until several hours later and for days, you will itch. The itch even keeps you awake at night too, unless a visit to the doctor for an injection and applying topical antibiotic cream will reduce/ stop the scratching.

amazing resort with friendly staff

Really far location, few commuter options, lack of restaurants/cafes on the property, and the staff wasn't the most helpful.

The hotel looked amazing, and was in great condition. Friendly service staff all round. An added bonus is a huge garden and beach - perfect for a relaxing walk. However, do note that the location is rather far from Haikou city center, about 20 min by car.
