Retford town itself

Long walk to the railway station

Great location and priced fairly.

No negative comments.

lovely big house. The room was exactly what I was after.

The Owners/Staff gave very good instructions for entry and departure. The room was as expected and the bed was fine. WIFI provided an exceptionally good connection even during a rainstorm. Lovely location close to the centre of Retford and easy walking distance from the local train station. Lovely town with a beautiful local Church (great organ). Delightful. Maybe another visit when I am in the area. Thank you, all.

Nothing...all was fine.

Great friendly hotel. V. Clean and tidy with loads of parking, a short walk into town.

Nothing.

Staff were fantastic and really helpful, facilities were spotless, beds were so comfy, close to town and food

None

Accès facile, accueil efficace, rapide, toutes les facilités pour cuisiner sur place.

The size and cleanliness of the room and the wonderful greeting we had upon arrival. Also the swift replies we had to correspondence prior to our visit.

Everything was perfect except the departing guests at 6am..i presume they were tradesmen, off to work.. They made no effort whatsoever to leave the premises quietly.

Really kind staff who were able to accommodate special requests for us which was incredibly helpful. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The layout is slightly odd but having a communal kitchen was really useful and would only be more useful if we'd stayed longer.

Lovely. Large room. Love kitchen access. Just wished we'd picked a king size bed (my fault, not theirs). Highly recommend

Spacious and clean fridge in room

We were attending a wedding nearby and they were so accommodating when we requested early check in and even sorted us a taxi to get to the venue when we were struggling to book one. The room was really spacious and clean with all the amenities for a very comfortable stay!

The Lawns was the perfect t stay for us. The Manageress was lovely and helpful. Accommodation was spacious, well furnished, clean and comfortable. The kitchen facilities were spacious and excellently supplied with fridge, cooker, microwave, etc etc. There's an Asda, Lidl, Aldi, Greggs just down the road, and of course, numerous restaurants and bars in walking distance. The location is great for Retford with ample onsite parking. I can highly recommend this Accomodation.

Great location. An easy walk into Retford centre. Plenty of parking space. Great staff and very helpful. Very comfortable room.

Nothing to dislike.

Room was clean, everything was in working order. Kitchen available for meals and fridge for guests. Easy parking. Thank you for rearranging, after initial room had lights failure.

Ceiling lights and bathroom lights were not working in initial room provided, as well as TV connection. Quick response from staff to move to alternative room. Bed in new room was not entirely comfortable, as mattress sinking into the middle.

Spacious, comfortable.

All fine

Great! No complaints

Travelling as a family of four particularly liked the room having an inner door do effectively two rooms in one. Very comfortable beds with clean bedding. We didn't use the kitchen facilities on this visit but they seemed very well equipped and clean. On site parking a bonus.

Very happy no negatives.

Lovely and clean. Huge bedroom and great facilities. 15mins walk to Retford centre. Car parking available.

Le personnel, la chambre spacieuse, la propreté

Unique property, friendly staff

Nothing, it was all nice

We liked the location with it being close to my mums The fact we had a good sized family room split into 2 rooms and having the use of kitchen facilities Which was all very clean

If there is one negative it is the fact that the 2 children's bed were closest to the room door and had the kettle in it I feel that it would be better if the children were in the room which currently accommodates the double bed

Room was comfortable and off road parking is always a bonus. Was aware that the accommodation did not provide breakfast but there are 2 large fully equipped kitchens at the property which make it easy to prepare an evening meal/breakfast. Short walk to the nearest supermarket. Would stay again.

Very good location to get to. The room was very clean and spacious. Management made sure there was a fan in the bedroom to keep the hot night feeling comfortable.

The bed could have been more firm for better comfort.

Very easy check-in even though I arrived late. Very responsive to queries. The room was clean, biscuits, tea, coffee were provided. There was also fans which were very welcome given the heat when we stayed All in all a very pleasant stay.

Very clean, good welcome tray, comfortable bed. Tastefully furnished room Parking facilities were excellent.

It seemed strange not to meet anyone upon arrival. It is just more personal that way. Not a complaint but a shelf in bathroom would be nice.

Perfectly located a short walk from town with ample parking. Fabulous staff can’t help you enough and the place is just the best. It has two kitchens fully equipped with a lovely social space to meet up for breakfast or an evening get-together. Have stayed here for the past three years running and wouldn’t go anywhere else ! Thanks Estelle

Nothing!

Great location Spacious rooms Excellent facilities

Nothing - everything was great

Very clean

No fans in room on hottest day of the year. Thought booking a deluxe room this would come as standard. A normal priced room come with a fan No lock on bathroom door in family room Cracked sink.

Great place staff brilliant

Nothing

Very clean

Location and parking were easy. Room clean and a good shower, plenty of hot water

Lovely staff, comfortable room, good location

It rained on both Saturday and Sunday night and there was dripping outside my window which disturbed my sleep.

Huge room! Comfy bed, nice bathroom, plenty of parking.

The friendliness of the staff and their willingness to sort problems out

A few facilities either weren't working at all, or not very well. Eg problems flushing the toiket, and the kettle didn't switch off

Parking on site & cleanliness

No staff or breakfast

Always a great stay at the Lawns. Very comfortable, spacious room for such a good price. Lovely staff too, helping me find my iPhone charger which I left behind!! Ideal place to stay when visiting family nearby

Location

Only a over sight but key not in box in arrival but a quick and it was bright to us within 5 mins

Large, comfortable, warm room. All facilities you need - brilliant having use of a fully equipped kitchen too. Close to town/shops/station. Easy check in/out. Lovely manager 😁

Would have liked option of an additional softer top pillow.

Hotel 2 minutes away from family home Hotel was clean and tidy and you cold come and go at leisure Tea and coffee and a kettle and hairdryer available Lots of parking available

Tea and coffee could have been replenished Was some damp visible under windows

Good location. Warm and clean with very good facilities. Welcoming staff.

Bed was a bit uncomfortable with quite a big dip in the middle.

You could not get a nicer person who owns a hotel absolutely amazing

Everything quiet peaceful and tranquil

Very clean, nice large room, easy self check in, perfect location for an event we were attending.

I do think it was slightly expensive for just a room.

Good communication, Easy access, clean and comfortable, welcome drinks, biscuits and access shared kitchen amenities all very clean. Close to Retford, nice neighbourhood

There was one chair in a double and 2 single bed room. Could have done with another chair to sit on in the room.

We loved the big open kichen and it had everything you needed and more. It was so clean we will be staying again. Easy to find and we traveled along way the room had everything g we need nice clean beds

Nothing our stay was fantastic. We wasnt expecting to have all we had to help us with our stay

good instructions, early check-in, great parking, clean room and good bathroom - very quiet

Mooi huis, fijne kamers en een praktische gemeenschappelijke keuken.

Het ligt naast een drukke weg, die gelukkig s nachts vrij rustig is.

lovely place to stay, me and my family loved it. the kids room was lovely, same as our room as it was spacious and clean. The owner was lovely, I couldn't get the key box open and rang her *quite late* and she was willing to come down and help us, luckily we managed to get it open on our own but she was very kind about it.

we came late at night and left quite early, but would've been nice to have a option to sit somewhere for food/lounge

Excellent room, clean, good communication with host

Nothing

The room was very clean and spacious despite being on the main road it didn't affect our sleep

It's the first time I e been anywhere where there isn't food being served and staff on duty but not the end of the world

It was beautiful and the staff are so welcoming

room was nice and fresh and quite.

three flight of stairs to my room

Room was clean and amazingly spacious. Appreciated the water and biscuits offered. Access to key was easy and uncomplicated. Free parking was a real bonus.

At my age it was challenging to get up the two flights of narrow stairs with suitcase!

Booking was easy and subsequent contact with the hotel was excellent. Welcome from staff was very warm. Kitchen facilities very good.

Not much! Perhaps a clearer explanation that although kitchen facilities were available for breakfast, you had to bring your own food.

Room was clean and warm.Especially appreciated the generous sized bath towels. Plenty of storage space for clothes etc. Liked having a fridge and kitchen facilities if needed. We just used it for breakfast as we were visiting family.

Large spacious room, friendly staff

There was a small issue with the heating not being set correctly

Clean and spacious room. Comfortable bed. Wonderfully quiet.

The room was very large and clean and was nice and warm. The host was generous to supply extra snacks in the kitchen over Christmas as the rooms were not being serviced. The host also gave us a Christmas card and crackers which was a lovely touch. It was in a great location for visiting family in Retford over Christmas and was a good price and standard compared to other local places.

The windows weren't sound proof and it's on a main road, so it was a little noisy. We could feel the springs in the mattress which was uncomfortable. The room was so large it would have been nice to have a long sized bed instead of a double. It could have done with having a side light near the corner with the tea and coffee making facilities.

Very clean and warm, the kitchen/ dining area is very convenient for breakfast

Spacious, clean, good location.

Nothing not to like

I loved that the room with 2 beds for our kids was thru a door to our bed. Seperate area

I think the main bed could be a bit wider

Very warm clean nice bed

What? What’s not to like

Love the set up there, 2 x kitchens and bring your own breakfast. Lovely and clean and warm. 👍 Under new management this year and can see some great improvements. We will be back for our annual Retford meet up. 🦞

The two fully equipped kitchens were excellent and very useful for the self catering meal option.

We loved the location of the property! It was close to town. Nice that parking is onsite so that you don’t need to worry about it parking! Felt very safe! Rooms were big, warm and clean!

Nothing to dislike. Everything was great!

Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was large and spotless.

We didn't have any teaspoons in the room but we found one in the communal kitchen.

Comfortable, clean room which was a good size. Tea/coffee available in room. Recently decorated to good standard. Flexible check-in hours.

Good location, great staff, good facilities

Room was very clean and kitchen was great with all needs met. It was great to be able to make our own breakfast with all the crockery and utensils supplied.

Very good communication. Thank you.
