Le Chalet Waiheke Apartments

The owner met us, told us where we could park the vehicle and unit was self contained.

Unfortunately, there was a very strong fragrance that I found overbearing. I got back late in the night and felt like I had to have the doors and windows open just to allow some fresh air in. Obviously this made the place feel cold, but I just didn't want to be breathing in that strong fragrance. I don't know if it came from cleaning materials or air freshener, but I even considered going and sleeping in my car instead.

The house inside was like the pictures it was comfortable there were nice Extras like hot beverages,chocolate Biscuits and milk nice products to wash your hair and body. The location is gorgeous in the bush near the water.

The bathroom had dust and hair it wasn’t very clean but outside was like a rubbish dump tarps, trailor gardening hoses and stuff all over with a Heater thrown out I Felt Catfished comparing the pictures of the lovely gardens in the pictures if the outside was tidy I would plant have said anything but to be in a gorgeous garden was why we chose this place Over Others.

With the most beautiful views, this is a special place to visit. Homely and comfortable, thought and care has been put into the accommodation. We had a wonderful stay and recommend highly.

Location was perfect for our stay for a wedding at Tantalus. Dave the host was very nice and went above and beyond by driving us to the wedding when Waiheke Island Taxis failed to honor our pre-booked reservation and neither called or turned up.

The lovely Chablis studio room was very nice and perfectly adequate for two people. The only issue we had was that it appeared that the cleaners had only done a very superficial job and the bathroom in particular needed a good clean to get into the corners and pick up all the stray hair.

The place was comfortable and inviting.

Clean, lovely view, spacious, milk and choc biscuits in fridge, very comfy beds and pillows, conveniently near ferry.

Staff did not respond to messages so had to call them. Great place to stay so a small thing, but would be great to get easy response.

Quite a nice large room with comfy bed at one end, grateful for the pool in the heat of summer.

Sofa one end of room TV the other, impossible to watch unless sat on bed viewing at an angle. This perhaps a NZ thing but a sink with toaster and microwave is not a kitchenette surely some cooking hob or mini-oven should be included? Little storage space in kitchenette area. No drawer space for clothes. Only 2 coat hangers. Only plastic glasses for pool area but none provided.

There was an unpleasant odour outside of our room for first 24 hours. Suspect it was rubbish due for collection.

Directions to find it were ambiguous. There are 3 gates, it would be easier if they were numbered instead of the description. It was also not clear how to get to the pool.

Comfortable stay, bed linen very good and studio unit exceptionally clean.

Maybe a bit worn around the edges as compared to the pictures, but lovely for a 1-night stay.

Well- equipped, comfortable, lovely pool and spa

Nice and quiet location. Only stayed here to sleep before getting on the next ferry in the morning so can't comment too much further.

Location is a little hard to find especially in the dark at 11pm but didn't take too long to work out where we were going.

Cute, comfortable wee chalet, perfect location for our brief one night stay on the island. Had all the basic amenities, surrounded by an established garden - the flowering wisteria on the deck smelt incredible! Had a brief interaction with the host who was very friendly and accomodating ☺️

Would have loved to had a top sheet on the bed! Cleanliness wasn’t really up to standard, it was definitely over due a deep clean. Decor and furnishings were a bit tired. The plug-in diffusers smelt too strongly of artificial scent, had to unplug and open the windows on arrival.

The room was lovely with a comfortable bed. Tje host was amazing and even offered to take us to the ferry in the morning.

It is a wee bit out of the way. So either pay for the hop on hop off bus or catch a taxi.

It's private and the hosts are friendly. The price is very reasonably affordable and the place is clean.

What a peaceful place to stay! The host was lovely as well. It was a great place to stay, had everything I needed, clean and comfortable.

Honestly the worst thing was the hill getting here as I had heavy luggage 😂 Taxis on the island are expensive. Once I'd unloaded though it was quick and easy to get to where I wanted to go using the public busses.

The apartment was very comfortable and the hosts were very helpful.

The location was perfect. Close to local shops but away from noise. The views from the main bedroom were amazing and the kitchen facilities were more than adequate for us as a group of 4 adults. We were met at the main door by the owner who pointed us in the right direction. The room was extremely clean and tidy with plenty of bathroom essentials too.

The only suggestion would be to put a curtain perhaps across the bedroom attached to the kitchen/dining area to offer a little privacy in that area. Otherwise the stay met all our expectations and we were extremely happy.

Quiet location. Comfortable bed and pillows. Extra sheet would have been welcomed as too hot with duvet and too cold with nothing.

Very easy place to stay. Comfortable bed. We didn't use the pool or spa as it would have meant asking where it was and how to get there, we didn't want to intrude. A description or map inside would have been good.

Property is in a good location. Good facilities.

There was construction occurring very close to our unit. While it didn’t start early it did make it too difficult to sit outside and enjoy a bottle of wine. It would have been nice to be told there would be construction noise before we booked.

The view was lovely. We especially loved the bird watching from our room!

Very well appointed accommodation option. Enough room for the whole family with the bonus of having a supplied cot. The location was great with views over the valley below.

The studio was a perfect base for a wedding. The bed was super comfortable with lovely pillows and duvet. Air con, well equipped bathroom with hairdryer. Everything you need for a shore stay. Bus stop and restaurants and shops and Ostend market a short 10 min stroll down the hill. We enjoyed cooling off in the pool!

Layout was unique, with a beautiful garden like feel to the property. The towel warmer was a nice bonus too

It's a great little gem. The owners are nice and the place is good. But the walk to get there is a bit uphill so if you have mobility issues and you don't have a car it could be a challenge. But if not it's a great place to stay.

No warning to tell you the towel rail was very hot. Bedroom in lounge needs a privacy curtain.

The apartment was lovely and clean and all the necessary requirements for the short stay. We would have used more of the lovely spa and swimming pool facilities had our stay been longer. The apartment was very quiet and private, so this was something I appreciated very much. We appreciated the courtesy car trips we received from Dave I hope I have the name correct. He was a lovely man and took us to a lovely beachside restaurant drove us to lovely winery and provided a commentary about Waiheke Island which was interesting. On our last day drove us to the Ferry. This was terrific and we really appreciated his kindness very much.

The steps to the apartment were quite steep and would not be a problem to the younger age group. The milk for 3 people was not enough for the short stay. We could have asked for another carton I expect. The distance from the main activities of this Chalet was a problem we were just lucky that the owner was happy to drive us to some of the places we wanted to visit.

Lovely bed and bedding, milk & necessities for tea & coffee, nice shower and kitchen. Sitting out area with pears and lemons growing. Handy location for Ostend with good supermarket. Easy parking. Friendly hosts. Pool and hot tub available tho we stuck to the beaches. Stayed an extra night.

The apartment has amazing views over the bay

My wife was bitten by a spider that needed medical attention. There were spider webs in the stairs and ceiling. The owner was unresponsive when the dishwasher was not working properly. There is no stove.

Great place attached to other rooms in the house, but private, clean and enjoyable.

Absolutely loved the apartment, spa pool and the view is to die for.

Such the unique stay. My favourite feature was the glass window in the main bedroom! Just beautiful! And all the little touches around the place. Absolutely adore. There are so many people asking already for the link to this property. Loved the check-in and how there was no face to face contact lol. We also had our two year old who loved the large open floor space. Couldn’t be happier:)

The view was outstanding especially from the main bedroom. The bed in the living area could have done with some privacy.

The room was exceptionally clean and tidy. Most things were well thought through. Great facilities overall.

Lovely studio on waiheke. Spa was especially great after a long day. Short walk from the bus to get you everywhere on the island. Very clean and super comfortable bed.

The bedroom off the kitchen had no privacy whatsoever. A screen or curtain would be needed to call this a “bedroom”. Also, not as clean as it should have been, especially the bathroom floor.

Luxurious, exceptional views, great communication. Beds were sooo comfortable, lovely bathroom, well equipped.

Tiled floors cold in the winter.

It was a perfect 🥰 pick for my family. We love every bit of it. Both beds were too comfy that I didn't want to go home. The chalet was clean, tidy, spacious and well looked after. The views from the room upstairs were amazing. Will recommend this 💯 Towels everywhere. Too much of all the amenities. We are definitely coming back in summer ☀️ We found chocolates in the fridge. Thanks to our host.
