Brilliant location, close enough to everything, without being too noisy in the centre. Good size room, bright and airy, with a lovely bay window. Nice bar, with comfy chairs, and a bit of everything; a darts board, board games, piano, tvs, pool tables. Parking is available too

In a twin room - my bed was veryyy uncomfortable, but the other beds mattress wasn't.

Springs sticking through mattress. ( no sleep) Carpets badly worn & very badly stained No wardrobe or hooks anywhere to hang anything. Stair carpet to exit door very dangerously loose!! Curtains barely covered windows, old and very creased. Pillows need replacing. Not very clean.

First of all the staff were very welcoming and polite for the duration The room was ok for what we required. The pub below had a very friendly atmosphere with locals telling you the history of Weston. A short walk around 25 minutes to the Grand Pier. The Wifi signal was good in the room. Games room equiped with pool table very nice and I played Darts.

Could not open a couple of the windows, this was not a big issue.

Location of hotel was a 10 minute walk from town centre, staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable.

WiFi was temperamental. Room wasn't ready until 3pm even though email stated it would be ready at 2pm. Pub below rooms is open to public so can be noisy and I felt uncomfortable when visiting with my son. Room is very basic, and it smelt of dog even the bedding. Bathroom is very small and shower is pathetic. No hair dryer or proper wardrobe. Lack of hooks or storage in bathroom.Lots of rubbish outside our window.

Staff was not very friendly and welcoming , room very, very basic,, expected it to be basic but was alot more basic than expected, shower very poor and a consistent strong smell of cannabis from bedroom window could be smelt from downstairs. Man breaking up chair very loudly at night which I didn't think was necessary to be done at that time

I be honest I’ve stayed in a few properties around the area for work. This was deffos one of the best, me and my colleague was very pleased. Staff was very helpful well mannered and the rooms were clean, fresh and comfortable. Thank you for hosting us, very pleased.

Great location, literally 2 minutes to beach and very close to the centre and pubs / shops etc but in a quiet area. Old school pub and everyone is very welcoming and the staff are warm and friendly.

Advertise with fi not working but did in the bar, waited hours for towels, they was in the dryer. No wardrobe at all. Tv remote batteries was held in by tape. Had to run the water for 6 minutes to get any hot water for a shower. Cubicle sliding doors dirty at the bottom where doors close. Pool table looked like all linen of some sort all over it, making it not usable. When you left had to leave keys in bedroom,front entrance was all closed. Had to go out a side door, so there's no hope you enjoyed your stay or nothing. Tried to post photos on here failed i bet it did

This was my second time staying at The Bear, as we stayed here last year, too, for the Sea Shanty and Folk Music Festival. The location is great for the town centre and the sea front. It's a quiet location, too, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed. The staff are all very welcoming. There's a nice little bar on the ground floor, too, which hosts live music events and has some outdoor seating. The bar stocks real ale, which is always a plus for me. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to partake of any this year, as we were out all day and evening at Festival events. My ensuite double room was immaculate and included a TV ( although I didn't get to watch it much ). There were plenty of drawers for storing clothes and personal belongings.

I should have requested a room with a free-standing shower cubicle, as this is my preference. I've one artificial hip, and if a shower is over a high sided bathtub, it can be a bit of a struggle getting in and out. I discovered that my shower was, in fact, situated over a jacuzzi bathtub. I managed to get in OK, as the inside of the tub was higher than floor level, but getting out was more difficult because it was quite a drop to the floor. A small fixed step would have been useful and perhaps a fixed handle to hold onto. I forgot to pack my rubber bath mat, which I use if a shower is situated over a bathtub, and unfortunately, one wasn't available. I would have liked to use the jacuzzi bathtub ( a real treat ) had it been working, but at this point in time, it wasn't. I was surprised to find no hook behind the bathroom door for hanging towels or robes, but this could easily be remedied. As it was summer and the weather was dry, I travelled with lightweight clothing, which was fine stored in the chest of drawers ( the only place to put clothing ) and didn't crease. However, in cold and wet weather, most people would like to have somewhere to hang clothing, especially a wet coat or jacket, even if on a hook behind the room door, or a rail fixed to the wall. A full-length mirror is always appreciated and could have been placed behind the room door, too. There was nothing majorly wrong with the room, but little improvements could make all the difference.

it was a very dated room, no headboard, creaky floors and very outdated, would stay again but not in that room, have stayed a couple of years ago and that was a lovely room, was very warm but no fans in the rooms, we did ask but they hadn't got any

Nice shower, Kettle etc provided and the milk replenished fhe next day. The bed was comfy. It was surprisingly quiet at night

I could have done with more hanging space. Plenty of drawers provided but they weren't really suitable for everything. We had 5 hooks on the bathroom door and 1 coathanger. The door was very noisy but that wasn't a problem for us, it would have been the neighbouring rooms that would have heard it.

Great position ,walk to the beach at end of road, walk into town about a 10min walk. Pub was down stairs and it had out door seating.

No where to hang clothes and picture kept breaking down on TV. A no frills room but good value,

The property was located away from the town centre, and close to the bus routes. The landlady was friendly & helpful on check in, my room was not over the bar so reasonably quiet. Once checked in, I didn’t see anyone and could come & go as I pleased. I didn’t experience any difficulties that couldn’t be overlooked.

Whilst the bar downstairs was in great order, the facilities in the room were minimal. One piece of mini soap, no shampoo, towels & bed linen were well worn (but clean) tiny TV with no signal, couldn’t connect to WI-FI, shower screen didn’t close properly. The latch on the Yale lock of main room door had been removed, as a lone female I prefer to be able to drop the latch for security. I didn’t raise as an issue as I was only staying for one night. There was no check out contact, a written notice instructed me to leave the room keys in the room but threatened to charge amongst other things (excessively dirty towels, other damage eg) for lost keys. Would have preferred to hand back the keys to staff under these circumstances, I took photos of where I’d left the keys & the condition of the room which I left as I found it.

Many list of problems, All 5 nights couldnt sleep because of the heat and the noise! Now they will say its a 200 year old building but not provide fans Blatant lie from staff about things not even needed to be lied about - asked for a fan, night after ask again and third night i wait in the lobby till i get one and he tells me its only half an hour away. Two hours later i see him rummaging through the storage closet and he says he borrowed it off a friend and doesnt usually do that for guests! Why lie? I just dont get it. I have asked for an invoice for the last two weeks, have not received it! Wi-Fi doesnt work! No service in the hotel! If i were to list even more complaints the list would go on. Hairs found in the bed beforehand. Sheets clearly deshiveled and worn. Price much higher than the average in the local area especially for the service and condition. Extremely dissapointed and my worst experience in a hotel so far.

Sadly place like this will continue to survive when people like me book last minute and just need somewhere to sleep. The devil is in the detail. I get really irritated where addressing some small things can give a better impression. Peeling wallpaper, just stick it down. Obvious scuff marks, just clean them. Grimy handles, just clean them Greasy pull cords on lights, just replace the end weight Flat pillows, just buy better ones. Mismatched bedding, just match it Creased pillow cases, making you wonder if they've already been slept on, just iron them Nowhere to put loo roll, just fit a holder Nowhere to hang clothes, just buy a rail Thin, light coloured curtains that let in heat and light, just buy blackout ones Unidentified hair, including pet har, just invest in a better vacuum cleaner Sadly the more I looked, the more I found. If some of these little things had been addressed before hand, I may have scrutinised the room a little bit less.
