The woman on reception was friendly and polite and checked us in quickly with no fuss, it was a good experience. She was also friendly when we checked out. The large windows and light room was nice as was the seafront view.

The room was dated and the decor in the bathroom was very tired and needed redoing (around the bath, skirtings etc) Also, there was no hot water at all in the shower, so we had to have cold showers.

This was our 4th visit , staff go over and above to look after their guests , clean comfortable rooms , food is great , we will be back again :)

Friendly staff

No breakfast, thought it was too expensive. The location was spot on, close to pier,shops and beach. We had to vacate our room because above the window the rain was leaking in. About 2am, we were given another room. Staff were very helpful.

I didn't like that the cleaners came in without our knowledge. Wasn't ideal either being locked out of hotel at night in the pouring rain. Was given an outer doorkey, which was pointless because we couldn't get to it.

Really excellent breakfast

Our room was clean very comfortable beds But what made it even more special was the staff I traveled with my disabled mum, they helped with all our needs and very patient with us , they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable

Bar seems to close early, didn't bother us too much as we're not big drinkers. We never holiday in August was quieter than I'd expected.

I travelled with my son. Unfortunately, I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable right from the start at the reception. Lady call "Bee" was very rude towards me and my son. "Chris" from reception, pushed the door on me as I was leaving. Room had holes on walls and doors. Bathroom was in terrible condition as you can see on the photos. Location was great, very convenient but not worth the stress related to interaction with staff members. I think we were the only people staying there at the time.

Location was excellent and having g parking so near was fantastic.Highly recommend using the restaurant for evening meals.

Blinds in bedroom were not working properly and therefore to much light was coming into the room.

Location, wonderful sea view, and the grand pier. spotlessly clean and comfortable nice bar lounge indoors and good outdoors seating and additional bar did not have food but looked good what I saw at reasonable prices.

No parking spaces but location of hotel not possible, car park 5 min walk.

La stanza era molto grande con area salotto, il letto di dimensioni king size. L'albergo è posizionato sul lungomare, alle spalle dell'edificio vi è un parcheggio multipiano molto comodo.

L'albergo è vecchio e dovrebbe essere rinnovato, in camera le finestre non si chiudevano bene perchè vi erano alcune guarnizioni parzialmente staccate, il che faceva penetrare in camera il vento ed i rumori della strada del lungomare. Inoltre, le finestre erano sporche di deiezioni di uccelli. La reception è soltanto fino alle 21.00, all'arrivo viene data all'ospite una chiave per entrare in autonomia dopo quell'ora.

Friendly and welcoming staff.

From the moment we arrived the staff went out of their way to help us with carrying luggage to letting us have a jug of water in our room. Little things that made a huge difference to our stay, we don't travel often so it was nice to have that extra mile provided. B and the rest of the staff are astounding , so friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome and part of the furniture. Every meal we had was outstanding , really delicious !! Our four day break was just perfect ! We will be back to sit in our corner table watching the world go by with a bottle of wine and a cruzcampo or two 😉😊

There was nothing to dislike at all. Personal preferences will always be a problem to some people but for a four night stay we had a very comfortable time in a very clean room and we was even upgraded for extra space which came in very helpful for a 6ft 7in man with crutches. 🩷

Staff customer service wasn’t the best. Window wasn’t secured as per children requirements and opened fully so made it uncomfortable. Overall feel of the place is tired and dated.

How close it was to all the venues. Which was ideal for the shanty festival too. The breakfast was ideal as well.

The Shower door in room 109 very annoying so that might want to be looked at.

Location is fantastic. A short walk from the train station. Beach and pier are opposite. Other shops / restaurant etc just round the corner including high street and shopping centre.

Room was small. The window has left fully opened and I almost fell out to close it. It was stiff. The blinds were broke so had to put my towel up between the bottom of blinds and the ledge. There was a lamp beside the one bed but no plug for it! The soap dish was broke so when I put the soap on it , it fell on the floor. Room was very tired. Hotel was very tired with a musky smell. Knowone on reception when we checked out so just left the key on desk. Lift door open as we arrived on the 2nd floor which seemed dodgy so we used the stairs after , lots of clutter at the bottom of the stairs including a hoover and folding tables, which just looked a little unprofessional/ untidy.

Beachfront location. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Furnishings and finishing not new but expected in an old building. The staff were delightful and my stay was pleasant.. Stayed in 109. The shower was narrow and would not be comfortable for a person of larger build. I would stay here again.

Staff really friendly and helpful; lovely ground floor room with huge bed and good sized bathroom. Brilliant, well cooked and generous breakfast. No parking unfortunately but multistory just behind and convenient. We'll be back, thank you x

There wasn't anything to be honest.

Very central location, staff were great, especially Michelle. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the night of our stay and the food was superb and plentiful. Bed was very comfortable.

Rooms a little dated and the bathroom could do with a refresh, especially the shower cubicle.

Old, shabby, terribly hot bedrooms with windows that could only open an inch and no fan provided. Not ideal in the heat wave. Shower was intolerable not big enough and the shower doors were broken. Very small double bed. TV badly positioned.

Bea and team were absolutely incredible, so accommodating and pleasant throughout our our whole stay. A brilliant location right on the beach and very good value for money. Would highly recommend staying here.

Poor. Clean roon but in general the hotel needs a makeover. The reception is not manned after certain hours and the key I was given did not work in the night entrance. The hotel phone is unmanned and only by seeing and taking a picture and zoomin in on a piece of A4 paper with 2 numbers written on it was I able to make contact. Many people I would think, and as I was thinking was I'd need to find another hotel at 11.30 at night.

The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive The food delicious.. The location is amazing too!

Everything is a little tired looking. This is reflected in the price, so not a huge issue.

So decided Thursday to get to Weston for the weekend. Very little accommodation available, but York had a room. Booked it from Saturday to Monday. Thought I would have a quick look at reviews and started to get edgy with the negativity on the previous reviews. Arrived Saturday at 2 expecting to leave luggage and come back later. Was greeted with let me check if your room is ready. Pleasantly surprised that room ready and positioned on main level. Taken to room and was delighted that room was big, airy, well decorated, looks like new carpeting and paint and good size shower room, far exceeded expectations and well happy. Having stayed at most hotels in this area this is as good as most other establishments. Used the restaurant in evening and again food excellent and reasonably priced. Sorry for previously peoples experience but can only state nothing at all wrong with this hotel, but as with all hotels in this area they are old buildings and need a lot of support and finance to keep upgrading. Thank you for hosting us and we will return

I have used the York hotel many times now. The breakfast is very nice , its all very laid back. If I havn't been happy with my room, I have gone to reception & the problem has been sorted out immediately. Upgraded if possible. B, on reception goes above & beyond to help guests enjoy there stay , Shes lovely. Thank you. Allison

The staff, food and location could not be bettered. Staff went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is dated and, unfortunately, during the heatwave our room was very stuffy, obviously the hotel could not be blamed for the weather. My sister uses a walker and there was some confusion, initially, about the use of the chair lift. On reflection having better access to the hotel would have suited us better.

Reception not open when needed. Room was full of damp! The smell was disgusting, with a jug and towel on the floor to catch the leak (we was NOT told about this when checking in)! Shower head holder broke so when I got in it fell and smacked me on the head. Blinds were broke in parts which let a lot of light in. No option for late check out, when I rang reception to ask, I was told no and phone hung up.

Close to seafront and reasonable price

Very dated , room was bit tired and we were next to the lift which was very noisy until about 1.30 in the morning when most people were in bed . Our room smelt smoky and there was a cigarette down the toilet . We only stayed overnight if we had stayed longer would have asked to be moved due to lift .

At first we thought this was going to be a good stay for one night and pleased we could checked in early. The apparent Manager of the Hotel named Bee gave us two keys which should have been a red flag as there was no way these keys were for a secure room more like an HMO room key. Took the shoddy lift which creaked its way to 1st floor and when we saw the outside of the door we knew this was going to be a poor standard room but we did not expect the shock when we entered. It was absolutely gross, broken shades, wardrobe , disgusting shower with mold, yellow stains everywhere, hole in bathroom door looked like someone had punched it. NO air Conditioning or even a FAN during a heatwave in the room. Unable to open the windows for air. When we complained to booking.com they told us to speak with the manager. BEE WAS INCREDIBLY RUDE AND HOSTILE! We showed her the pictures and she said the room was fine but agreed to a free cancellation and refund. She shushed us too the side of the reception to check in a guest as we did the cancellation request on booking.com. This has to be the worse Hotel in all of the UK!!

Large room with amazing views.

Unfortunately the hotel doesn't serve breakfast before 9am which was useless. The ensuite was a good size but the shower was a basic electric shower over a bath, the ceiling was in a grim state. Management's communications are poor both in terms of grammar and timelines. They were pretty defensive too, rather than encouraging people to return. I spent a lot on the room, I thought it was poor value for money.

I was only in there for a few hours really I had done the chase the sun bike ride and this was my over night but comfortable bed tea and coffee in the room and a very late check in proved to be very helpful

We had a double room, which was fine, but the shower cubicle was very small. And we were by the lift, so it was a bit noisy.
