Broken bathroom doors. Dirty towels No restaurant despite advertised.

This was my third stay here. I love the location, the rooms are cozy and quaint. While I knew what to expect, I was a bit disappointed in the room for the price paid for my stay this year.

The shower was clean, or so it seemed. There were some black hairs on the ceiling and the walls. The towels had some marks, again - they seemed clean but had marks. For the price of these rooms, you would expect a certain standard. And I stayed here again because I’ve stayed here twice before.

Quiet place, pleasant owners.

The Lake view was not as expected with all those trees in the way.

Queen suite was well.apppinted with beautiful and peaceful view of the lake Grocery and laundromat next door was also wonderful.

Convenient location, dog friendly

Unfortunately the air conditioner broke down on our second night, spent a very uncomfortable night/morning as room was very warm and screen in window was ripped and we were unable to even open a window. Unable to find a staff to advise about issues.

The room was clean and well equipped and the beds were comfortable.

I do think the hotel was overpriced. It is an interesting idea to provide french presses for coffee. However, the amount of coffee provided was not enough to make even one reasonable cup of coffee - they should quadruple the amount at least. Also, the handle on our french press was broken.

We liked the extra space the room offered. It was quiet, clean and comfortable.

We did not like having to climb with all our luggage about 24 stairs to get to our room. We are in our seventies and this was a bit much!!! Not at all convenient! The room was quite dark, even with all of the lights on… needs more lighting!

Very rustic. The only window was a sliding door which accessed the walkway. In order to keep a window open at night or even to look outside, we had to risk security. Broken door lock which was very difficult to open. Once we checked in there was no one available to talk to about issues

Not much to look at, in fact I would probably drive by, but the accommodation was very good. Surprisingly better than the curb appeal.

If you like rustic this is the place for you.

Steep stairs were a bit of a challenge for someone with slight mobility issues. Would be impossible for serious mobility issues.

Lack of windows made the room really dark. The only windows were on the doors coming in, but they were frosted glass, so no view of the lake from inside.

Location was quiet and loved the lake view.

Screen on door was broken and bent on bottom so couldn’t open that side which would have been nice for fresh air for my cats, but didn’t want them to escape. I was worried the shower rod was going o fall off, wasn’t mounted very well. Other than some minor cosmetic issues, it was a wonderful stay. Would definitely book again.

We were charged and paid for 2 people. There was enough coffee provided for one person (for a bodum coffee pot) The rate was high enough that another 2 scoops of coffee would NOT have broken their bank. Rather frustrating for an early morning departure

Parking was accessible and close, and the room view was good.

The living room was extremely dirty. The sofa was heavily stained and unclean. The curtains were messy and dirty. The bathtub had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. The room lighting was very poor, to the point that I had to use my phone’s flashlight to locate the second light switch. It was previously stated that a coffee maker would be available in the room; however, there was none—only a French press. There was also not enough drinking water provided for consumption or for making coffee. Additionally, there is no access to any nearby restaurants except for a Chinese restaurant that belongs to the same property. Overall, I do not recommend this place at all.

Nice location, clean room with local decor.

We were on the 1st floor and could hear people above us walking. The small fridge didn’t have a freezer for our ice packs.

Pet friendly

There is no staff on site or available in any way outside of their “business hours” of 11 am to 9 pm. There is no emergency contact number for guests to contact staff if needed. The recorded message on their business phone states their hours of 11-9, and literally states NOT to leave a message. My wife accidentally locked herself out of her room while taking her bags to the vehicle in the morning, and had to wait until staff showed up at 11 to get back into her room. Absolutely ridiculous.

Liked that the property was close to a grocery store

The smell of pinesol was so strong in our room that I had a headache all night. I realize they use it for cleaning but it was REALLY strong. They advertise a Chinese restaurant but it’s for take out only and the food was cold when we got it. Even though our room was about 10 steps from where we picked it up. There was a wired coffee maker in the room and not instructions on how to use it. The beds were old and not very comfortable. There was no heat or air conditioner in the room that we could control. Overall not really happy.

A bit far from anything

Big space, updated tvs and bedding, comfortable bed, beautiful view from 2nd floor outside unit. Quiet and private.

Had a bit of an odour, poor lighting and no temperature control.

Although it was a struggle to get our 11 year old dog to climb the stairs, the 3rd floor suite was worth it. It was nice to have the extra space. Loft ceiling and the seperate seating area with couch, chair and small table w/ chairs make this an excellent value for the price! We only stayed the night on our road trip but the suite would work for anyone staying for a few days. As per the usual in many hotel/motel spaces it needs a bit of a deep clean, dust behind the tv's and on the picture frames, kettle needed a wipe down, just the little things that are missed if you are not the tenant/guest. Otherwise the bathroom was clean and the towels and bedding were clean and of good quality. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was dirty. Like there was spilled sticky stuff on my floor from the previous guests. The television only has audio. There was no staff there to answer to phone or desk when the problem arose to me.

Leur café maison est excellent. Je ne savais pas qu'il faisait leur propre café et il était excellent et ils n'ont pas hésiter à m'en redonner.

Room was cozy/comfy but the room above us was loud. Anytime someone would walk it sounded like they were moving furniture. Can hear everything. The furnace/AC unit is also very loud and looks very old-needs cleaning. The bed sheet on one of the beds was stained. I put the other sheet on top of it just incase it wasn’t clean. Otherwise nice location, for the most part was a clean room.

We've stayed here once before and we had a great experience both times. The rooms are rustic, but nice and clean with comfortable beds. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Any time we're in the Kenora area we will choose this hotel.

Great property! lovely setting with views of lake. Spacious 1 bedroom suite felt cozy and relaxing. Bed, shower, and furnishing we all excellent. We'd stay again.

Staff was great. Contacted me before I arrived and layed out check-in instructions. Lockbox entry to room. And responded quickly to a question. Thunder storm while there but I’m sure it’s great in the summer to sit around outside.

We were confused with the check-in procedure as the message only came at 1 o’clock while we were travelling and we didn’t see it till after we got there we are not used to checking in through a lock box on the door

Spacious and very clean rooms

Best bathtub ever!

Parking spaces much too narrow for today’s travelers. Too many travelers driving the oversized trucks that’s made to haul trailers and other heavy machinery. We hybrid drivers don’t stand a chance to squeeze between 2 trucks.

Staff was friendly at front desk. Room was great. Cant beat the location, nice view of lake.

Clean room with comfortable beds.

There was a full size French press with about a tablespoon of ground coffee. Not enough to make even 1 coffee. No tea bags, but a lot of coffee whitener and sugar. So no point really.

This is a hidden gem! Comfortable rooms with a lake view! Great take out restaurant plus ample outdoors space and balcony for each unit. A short walk to the beach with a swim dock and playground. Will stay here again! 😀

Room was spacious and clean. No traffic noise. The Inn is old and tired, needs work and the restaurant isn't really a restaurant as the kitchen is only open for take out.

We really enjoyed the ambience of the property. The individual rooms were very unique. We would have enjoyed the common area as it’s beautiful but it was raining.

The hotel was a nice stay . We would go back and recommend it
