Well located, the restaurant was a plus. Great pizza

The property was in the middle of renovations which we can appreciate however if you are going to undertake heavy construction work like jackhammering you need to block out the facility. As a result the sewer was also blocked for the duration of our stay and was overflowing. Dont get me wrong we have stayed before and will again in future however pay attention to the scheduling of large renovations.

It is so safe and they are so understanding. we messed some coffee on the bed and I offered to pay for the cleaning, but they said it is fine and they would take care of it. They are very understanding. the vibe is just good too.

Bar is ridiculously expensive...

Besonders gefallen hat mir die gastfreundschaft und die Aussicht auf das Meer. Die Lage dieses Hostels ist nicht zu toppen. Ausserdem war das Essen sehr lecker und die Surflektionen haben mir grossen Spass gemacht.

The area is a bit unsafe, can't walk around at night. Many of the facilities are a bit tired and could use replacement or repair, and kitchen equipment a bit limited - though we we able to borrow some things from the main house.

Simply one of the coolest hostels we have been to so far. Huge location, easy going staff and simply anything you could need. Nice bar and awesome view!

Difficulties to make an appointment with the yoga teacher. Wetsuits are of really poor quality and wont keep warm since they have a bunch of holes each.

A localização da cozinha comunitária não é boa. Fica fora da área de convivência e para chegar nela pode ser um problema se estiver chovendo.

Lots of noise during early hours of the morning making me a bit uncomfortable as we were two ladies

Excellent location directly on the beach and with awesome views. Spacious communal areas. Very clean throughout. Reserved a Beach House room with private bathroom, which was great value for money. Secure parking onsite. Solid WiFi.

At this price point, nothing at all to complain about.

Lange Wartezeiten beim Abendessen - es bleiben oft Gruppen zu Besuch, womit die Küche stark beschäftigt ist. Es ist ein Hostel, das Preis Leistungsverhältnis passt absolut aber sollte man bzgl. Hygiene oder Ausstattung nicht mit Hotel verglichen.

Nous avons finalement ete loge dans une maison juste a cote de l auberge et la vue etait magnifique.

Toilets abit to far from cabins for late night toilet runs for the ladies.

Das Hostel liegt wunderschön und mit toller Aussicht auf einer Anhöhe vor dem Strand. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Charmaine war ein Sonnenschein und hat unseren Aufenthalt dort versüßt. Die Surfstunden bei Waseem haben uns auch sehr gut gefallen! Darüberhinaus bietet die Unterkunft noch viele weitere tolle Angebote an, um den Aufenthalt dort attraktiv zu gestalten.

Es könnte sauberer sein und in unserem Zimmer war die Toilettenspülung defekt.

Im Zimmer waren die Holzteile der Betten und Nachttische frisch gestrichen. Allerdings mit einer unerträglich chemisch stinkenden Farbe. Der Strand war recht dreckig

The main house has no tv nor a radio it was an inconvenience having to walk all the way to the backpacker at night for entertainment

Beach view

The vibe of the Hostel was great. From the private rooms you are able to view the ocean anf beach with nothing in front of you! The location is really good. Right next to the beach and a 5 minutes walk to shops and cafés. The room is clean. The interior is simple. The private rooms share a big balcony or terrasse, which has sitting options in front of every room. Thats lovely and its easy to meet people. The shared kitchen has a nice vibe since its kind of outdoor and there is sand as floor. We liked that. Other than the shared kitchen you're able to order food at the bar. The hostel offers laundry service (can recommend), surf lessons, beer pong matches etc.

We waited really long for our food (1-1.5h). But to be fair there is only one lovely women who prepares the food fresh and it tasted awesome. On one day there was a group in front of ous as well, which took some time to prepare their food first. However, just have in mind that a Wrap and Pizza takes time and just order in advance.

Wooow first row on the beach. Amazing view on the ocean and sunrise. That makes me so happy. For a hostel the best rooms and view I've ever had. Beautiful balcony. Polite stuff and cozy vibes all through the hostel. Food in the restaurant is good.

Don't forget it's a hostel. No equipment in the room. But towels and sheets for the bed.

The hospitality, friendliness of the people. Good food dont need to go anywhere. Beautiful view. Will go again.

Ottima stanza con vista oceano. Molto confortevole . Ottimo per chi viaggia in compagnia o con amici. Ostello pulito e fornito di servizio ristorante e cucina. Organizzano quotidianamente lezioni di surf ed attività di tutti i tipi. Area comune pulita e rilassante.

The shared kitchen wasn't very clean because of everyone using it.

Spending a night at Island Vibe Backpackers was only for one night, but it completely blew me away. We had our own private room with a bathroom and a balcony, and from the moment we arrived I was so excited. The location is insane — literally on the beach. You can walk straight through the gate and be on the sand within seconds. We even woke up to watch the sunrise, which felt like a little gift. The place has so much character. There’s a pool table, a TV where people gather to watch soccer, a book nook, hammocks, a bar, a food spot, beer pong, and a boma area for evenings when they light a fire. My boyfriend quickly found people to play pool with, and I loved how many international travellers were there — meeting them and hearing their stories was a highlight for me. We even played chess while waiting for our food! And the food… wow. I had a chicken burger with homemade chips, and you could taste the love that went into it. Simple, delicious, and honestly one of the best meals I had on the trip. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with the balcony as a lovely bonus. I worried about the surrounding residential area at first, but the property is gated and safe. Everyone was friendly, especially Charmaine, who welcomed us and showed us around. Even in one night, it felt like a place where you could linger for days — waking up to the ocean, meeting travellers from everywhere, and settling into that effortless Jeffreys Bay vibe. Island Vibe isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place you feel glad to be in.

The view was very beautiful outside the reception . The staff was very friendly.

The hatch was too long couldn't really see the sea in the rooms downstairs otherwise it would've been a very beautiful view. Had to shower with cold water because of the power, please consider having generators for moments like that

We loved the proximity and access to the beach, hearing the soothing sound of the waves, and the views... It is a hidden gem. Exploring the rest of the property, we would definitely opt to stay in the private en suite rooms.

The door opening at the bottom does not have a weather guard, and it rattled with when wind picked up. The bed was harder than we'd expected - sponge mattress. Though the linens were clean, there wasn't any mattress protector.

The room we stayed in the plugs didn't work we had to charge our phones in the communal living area.

Der Ausblick von unserem Zimmer direkt aufs Meer war fantastisch. Mitarbeiter äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Allgemein eine ideale Unterkunft für Junge und Junggebliebene. Super Ausblick aufs Meer von allen Bereichen des Hostels. Man muss die Anlage eigentlich gar nicht verlassen. Leckeres Restaurant.

Hatte ein Zimmer im Strandhaus👍👍👍 super Blick auf den Strand incl. Sonnenaufgang. Insgesamt tolle gechillte Atmosphäre und das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Von der Ausstattung her darf man nicht allzu viel erwarten. Zimmer war recht spartanisch mit dem Nötigsten eingerichtet.

This hostel is absolutely amazing! There are great food and drink options available on site, which makes everything very convenient. The private room is wonderful, very comfortable and well organized. The location couldn’t be better, right on the beachfront. The bathroom is good and the shower works very well. It was everything perfect, comfortable bed, clean bedding, and a truly wonderful stay overall. I would definitely recommend it!

The only small issue was that the bathroom drain was a bit clogged, so the water would flood slightly during the shower.
