Property grounds were lovely.
Bed slightly uncomfortable. Bend in the mattress.
The main building was a charming combination of architectural styles and beautiful design. Our room was in the stable block which was also in a lovely setting, surrounded by rolling hills and over looking a nearby vale and distant hills. Facilities in our room were perfect for our needs.
We have no concerns to report.
Impressive hotel in beautiful surroundings
Modern facilities and design
Lovely country setting that welcomed dogs. Great evening Feasting on the deck -staff were attentive and resolved and addressed what needed to be done promptly.
All good.
Really lovely place to stay. Top marks for views, room, food, service.
Prachtig hotel met uitzonderlijk vriendelijk personeel !
The breakfast buffet was excellent. Apart from the "full House" option the others were overly rich.
The dinner offering. Far too fussy. And the chef, despite our requesting no salt, salted everything. Unpleasant. I wouldn't take dinner again, having given it two chances. No sence of a management presence.
The breakfast was plentiful and it was a beautiful location

Staff were amazing and restaurant and bar were very good
A little bit out of Broadway. But lovely walk in if weather is fine
The little touches like the radio, the complimentary drink, the lovely welcome at reception and the bar and restaurant
It didn’t impact us but the rooms are down a steep hill so older guests or people perhaps less mobile might struggle
We have stayed a few times and love it here. Great decor, lovely staff
Our room was in the stables with under floor heating that couldnt be turned off. It was unbearable in the night. Lots of other customers were unhappy.
Such a lovely place to stay, great location so good for dogs too! Staff were so lovely and helpful
Cotswold
The location, staff and Lodge where the social activities took place were amazing. The staff couldn’t have been more professional, friendly and helpful. The main comment we had that was for the price, we felt the room was a little small and would have preferred a larger bed too.
The size of the bed
Great location, good views, all the little touches
Very expensive for a slightly underwhelming experience - a bit too resort-like rather than exclusive / boutique hotel.
Everything! It was excellent and far exceeded expectations. Already planning our next trip to come back!
The hotel, the facilities and the service are very good.
The mattress was a bit hard. The estate was quite hilly, and also the surroundings, and there were no path for people to walk on the side of the roads.
Everything was so clean, we loved the little details we found around the estate. The sweet jars, the milk bottles, the doggie treats and the wellies! The staff were so welcoming! The lemonade on arrival was such a treat. We loved that dogs were welcome.
The only thing I would say is it would have been nice to be shown to your room. We got quite lost trying to find reception also. The directions were “the fish” this way then all of sudden the fish disappeared and the accommodation was split into different names. We called reception after a while and they kindly guided us to the lodge where you check in and retrieve your key.
Situated in its own estate. Peaceful and secluded
Rooms were remote from the main restaurant and bar area. 4 Car chargers. We found 2 were unserviceable
Beautiful location - friendly staff - immaculate throughout
Great location in a beautiful part of England
No air con in stable room and fan cooler in room not very good
Absolutely AMAZING stay in the hide away huts at the Fish Hotel. From the moment you walk into reception it's clean and fresh. There are multiple relaxation areas with plenty of seating where you never feel crowded or squashed. The hut itself was amazing and really cute. We walked into a cozy seating area. Nice touch the soft lighting was on and the radio playing giving an immediate warm welcome feeling. There was a shower room, which for the type of hut I must say the shower was awesome and quite powerful. Coupled with gorgeous good quality shower products. The complementary mini fridge was stocked well and replaced daily and really appreciated the fresh mini bottles of milk and soya. Good touch!. The bedroom area was actually quite spacious with a very comfy double bed and wow, a gorgeous roll top bath with soft lighting overlooking the outside wooded area. Again, quality bath products, robes and really soft thick, white towels. Then the hot tub area. LOVED this outside space. Again towels and robes provided but most importantly the 'buzz for booze" button reachable from inside the hot tub. There was a little confusion as to what drinks were actually available in the hot tub, but this was rectified by the on duty manager with exceptional first class service. Maybe a QR code would be helpful so clarity on drinks service is clear from the start. The overall cleanliness of the hut was exceptional, and I simply cannot fault any aspect. The communal areas as I said are vast. There are several veranda's to relax with amazing views of the grounds. All areas were spotless and the staff are friendly, professional and attentive without being over the top. Food in the restaurant was very nice. We ate here and at the neighbor Dormey Hotel which I believe is linked to the fish hotel, both offering really good service and food options. We also walked into Broadway and ate at the Coach House Indian restaurant which I really do recommend. The Deli in Broadway served amazing Ploughman's lunch! Overall, we had a Fantastic time here and cannot recommend The Fish -Specifically the hide away hut enough. Can not wait to return later this year.
Excellent dinner & breakfast, lovely free glass of welcome wine. Room well equipped. Passage too many fire doors. Nice sitting areas outside. Views.
Directions to Reception, turning space in car parks.
The Hilly Hut was so cute and had everything you needed.the hot tub was great.
Beautiful location. Clean. Great staff. Small touches made all the difference ie: welcome note, radio playing, sofa bed made up, complimentary drinks. Amazing stay
Amazing hotel! Beautiful views of the Cotswolds. Attention to fine details made all the difference. Overall, wonderful stay. Will return and definitely will recommend to others.
I think overall, the property is beautiful, wonderful estate, and the hilly hut was perfect for a 3 day adventure in nature. Lots of beautiful nature trails, broadway is close with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. My son had a great time doing the walking trails.
I don't think there is enough value in the proposition. While the estate is beautiful and this is pretty much the draw, there are no activities included, no padel courts or tennis courts, no pool, restaurants are decent but nothing to write home about but quite expensive for what it is. There are some activities but they are paid and the registration process is cumbersome - you can't just call someone, they make you register and pay online in advance. Some of the staff are pretty nonchalant, I think the experience can be much much better than what you get. It's easy to make people feel special but the front reception staff are quite cool and detached.
We came to The Fish Hotel as a group of friends to catchup and have a meal together on the “feasting deck”. I’ll start with the good. The lounge and bar area are lovely. Lots of nice areas to sit. The feasting deck meal was fantastic. We had a personal chef who prepared a selection of bbq meats and veg which was delicious and plentiful. The buffalo chicken and the salmon were my favourites. Everyone enjoyed it. The hotel location is down a VERY long windy road which is very steep. The views from the hotel car park and grounds are spectacular of the Cotswolds but sadly you could not see the view from the hotel itself or restaurants due to trees. The breakfast was good, though I’d asked for a side of black pudding and I got 1/2 of one slice which seemed quite measly considering it was an “all inclusive” breakfast. The room in the stables was nice and clean and the room came with a wine card so you could have 2 glasses of wine from a wine vending machine in the entrance to the rooms. The not so good. On arrival we walked up and down through the hotel a couple of times looking for the reception. We had passed a couple of members of staff who were chatting the whole time. We stopped to ask them where reception was to be told that they were reception. It is a casual informal reception, which would have been fine if the staff had been paying attention to see we were looking for it. Honestly the check in was not great as the vibe was not friendly, but rather a little pretentious and the staff did not apologise that we had been walking up and down for them. The service at the bars was very slow and there was a general vibe of somewhere that thought a lot of itself, which I didn’t love. I have been to as nice places which treated guests more appreciatively and more genuinely welcoming. The wine dispenser thing did not have any glasses and I called reception from the room to have some restocked but the phone rang for 2 minutes before anyone answered. I called again later to enquire about the WiFi and once again it took forever for someone to answer. I mentioned that I had been waiting for a long time and rather than receive an apology, the lady simply said “I was busy with a guest”. I would have expected a simple genuine apology. On checkout I was asked how the stay was and I honestly said that the check in and slow service had marred our experience. The lady to her credit seemed to take my feedback on board and genuinely apologised. They took some drinks off the bill which was very appreciated and not why I had told them. It brought up my rating of the place from a 3 to a 4. I would say this place could be really amazing if the staff were more genuine and attentive considering the very high price of staying and eating here.

The hotel, views, surrounding areas were all so beautiful. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our room in the coach house was spacious and very comfortable. We ate and drank in the bar, which was great quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast was great the next morning. Overall couldn’t rave about this hotel enough, we’ll be back!
service v friendly and hands on esp Alfie. The Hook restaurant is excellent. peaceful spot

Lovely accommodation and grounds. Breakfast was superb. Great easy walk into broadway.
Lack of facilities, for the price would expect a gym, spa, maybe tennis courts.
The cutest weekend away in a shepherds hut at The Fish. We absolutely loved the room which had everything you needed from a roll top bath, hot tub, huge bed with skylight window and log burner - all spotlessly clean. We ate at Hook which was absolutely unreal food and explored the local area on other nights. Breakfast was lovely and one day we had a breakfast room hamper delivered which was fab too. Accessibility wise, it was quite difficult with a wheelchair due to uneven ground and hills but we knew that before we went and were well prepared to handle it.
Calm and excellent attention to detail The staff were incredible
It was perfect
Wonderful location and thoughtful touches in the shepherd’s hut. The Hook was disappointing for evening meals - poor quality and overpriced.
Gorgeous hotel nestled in beautiful countryside, fantastic staff, classy decor and amazing food in the restaurant. We were there with our baby and toddler and the environment was very refined but we felt very welcome, and the grounds were laid out perfectly for a toddler to roam and explore safely. Very impressed and would definitely visit again, beds were so comfortable and the facilities were top notch overall.
The team were excellent from the greeting from Katie, to the bar and morning breakfast. Casual and calm was the vibe throughout. Our hut was perfect and a real escape in nature.
Having to leave!
Gorgeous location, fantastic staff and beautifully decorated comfortable rooms. Amazing breakfast and lovely facilities for children.
Location, dinner, breakfast, surroundings.
Reception was different, a message to explain would have been helpful.
If you are considering this hotel to stay at then please do so, it is a magical place. Lucky to say I’ve stayed in some luxurious hotels all over including the current no.4 hotel in the world, and The Fish was truly special. Phenomenal service and food with a beautiful room at the stables. Loved chilling by the pond with our glasses of wine from their wine machine (unique experience which we loved). Also enjoyed the maps for walking. The walk into Broadway was truly beautiful! The handwritten card inside our room and congratulatory dessert We are planning on returning later this year! See you then!
Room was great, breakfast was great, everything was good.
Nothing.
The facilities in and around the hotel. A lovely setting with far reaching views of the Cotswold plains. The food was excellent and so was the service - plenty of staff members. The room we had in the Stables was spacious and very clean with a view of the grounds.
We had to walk a short distance to the main hotel and facilities.
We loved the hotel. I gave it a 9 for location only because it is a bit remote, taxis are limited and we didn’t have a car. However, the location otherwise was magical, and if you are a walker, Broadway is a short 30 minute walk away. Everything is green and quiet with lovely animal life nearby. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very caring. They loaned us two plugs for our iPhones and gave us maps for shirt and long walks. Our room was cool, comfortable and clean, with snacks and even a free glass of wine. We definitely would recommend the hotel.
We wished they had down pillows but the beds were quite comfortable.
Location very tranquil a place to get away from everything.
Poor signage on entering the ‘hotel’ doesn’t really explain that it’s called the fish hotel but your actually staying in one of many various out buildings. Far too expensive for the quality of product and service you receive.
Beautiful grounds and well laid out. Nice walk around the estate. The restaurant, bar and lounge area were fantastic. The room was spacious and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Great location near Broadway and Stow.
Some furniture in the room was a little tired, eg the drawers were older and would come right out if not careful. We stayed during a hot week so air conditioning would’ve been nice (fans were provided so was still comfortable for sleeping).
Breakfast was excellent with wide variety. Service was excellent and staff were very friendly. Facilities excellent. Rooms clean and functional. Location superb. Overall great experience.
Nothing.

Where our room was as we had our doggie with us and we were right at the entrance so everyone entering the building our dog could hear and would bark and stay up all night!
Beds were very comfortable and bedding lovely ! Facilities are pretty basic and would be better if they paid attention to small details !
No pool. No AC. No activities . We switched rooms and the new too. Had no map or notices on what to do in the area . No tv in the bars to watch the World Cup ! The entire restaurant cleared out and it would have been so good for business to watch in the bar and build not only community but a fun event to get behind !
Beautiful estate, lovely vista
friendly staff, very welcoming, ambience, location and facilities, excellent fan in the room to keep us cool, Delicious food and drink
no decaf options for tea and coffee in the room, no two pronged shaving point in bathroom to charge my toothbrush
Very clean and comfortable. Really nice touches, like the radio, toiletries etc.

Beautiful buildings. Amazing setting. Excellent staff. Just perfect balance of attention.

Great and extremely dog friendly hotel. We had a fantastic room, Tango found a bed, dog bowl, dog toy, ball and dog treats waiting for her in our room. Dinner at the Hook restaurant was very well executed and dogs welcome (and given bed, water and treats) at tables in a room before the main restaurant. The hotel is charming and the ground beautiful. We had a lovely room in the stables block and a very pleasant long weekend break. My thanks to the staff who were all extremely helpful and welcoming.
Beautiful Hotel! Stunning location! Superb naturally friendly staff! Very dog friendly and welcoming! Breakfast and dinner were outstanding!!
Our room in the Stables was fine, if a little tight!
Restaurant was excellent

I recently stayed at The Fish Hotel and had such a lovely experience. The rooms were beautifully done, really cosy while still feeling luxurious, and the surroundings were absolutely stunning. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made the whole stay feel effortless and relaxing. The food was excellent too, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was chic but still very laid-back. I’d absolutely recommend it for a countryside escape and would definitely stay again.
It’s set in stunning location and the breakfast and restaurants standards are high. Staff cannot do enough to accommodate you

This is a really beautiful place in a wonderful location. No a/c in the rooms which needs to be addressed and issues with service, especially in the bar, which became irritating. If these can be resolved it really is a great place to stay.
Amazing hotel, THE most dog friendly place I have stayed in. The staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The adventure experiences are fantastic. We did tractor driving and duck herding. We were there to celebrate my sisters 80th birthday and the staff helped to make it so special. Shout out to the chef on the feasting deck (Saturday 30th May) who produced an amazing meal for us. The waiting staff who were so attentive and to all the staff who worked so hard and always with a beaming smile. Thank you.
We recently stayed in Boaty, one of the hotel’s hideaway huts, and it was one of the most relaxing and memorable getaways we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful and idyllic. Nestled beside the beautiful lake and surrounded by trees, Boaty offered a unique sense of privacy and tranquillity. Waking up to the sounds of nature, rowing across the water, and relaxing in the private hot tub while taking in the stunning surroundings made for a truly romantic experience. The accommodation itself was fantastic – comfortable, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed to make the most of the beautiful setting. Every detail helped create a calm and luxurious atmosphere. The skylight above the bed was a wonderful addition to the hut, which also came with a fully stocked complimentary minibar and snacks. Nice touches. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, ensuring we felt looked after throughout our visit. The food was equally impressive. The fish in Hook was delicious (we had the katsu cod and plaice), with excellent quality ingredients and great service to match. Full breakfast in the morning was superb as well. If you’re looking for a romantic retreat where you can completely switch off, reconnect with nature, and enjoy a touch of luxury, we couldn’t recommend Boaty highly enough. An incredible experience from start to finish, and we’ve already booked to come back in the summer. Highly recommended! 🌿🚣♀️
I came in for food on friday evening, myself and 3 friends, I was served by an older lady named Michelle. She asked if we were staying at the hotel, when we told her no we were only coming in for food this evening, she scoffed and asked us for a last name for the tab. We ordered our drinks, they took 25 minutes to arrive, the bar was busy so we didn’t mind. However our food took over an hour and was quite frankly disgusting. We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 salads and some fries and everything was cold, tasteless and quite frankly inedible. We asked Michelle if there was anything she can do for us, she offered to remake the food and give us a free round of drinks. We decided we didn’t want to wait another hour for more food to then come back out and still be inedible so we asked for another solution. She was really rude to us and said we’re asking for too much. She stated in her opinion we should pay the bill and leave if we didn’t want the food remade. We asked for the round of drinks to be made as takeaway drinks, we only wanted teas and coffees, we were told that you didn’t have takeaway cups so were unable to provide this for us. When we asked to remove the service charge upon paying the bill, Michelle gave us a really dirty look and asked why, when we explained we felt it was unfair for us to pay this, she uttered something under her breath, we couldn’t quite make out what she said, but it was something along the lines of “cheapskates”. We are extremely disappointed with the food and service of this restaurant and we will not be returning.
Our family party of nine had an absolutely brilliant bank holiday weekend at The Fish. From the moment you enter the drive you can tell you are in a special environment. The location is breathtaking, the buildings exceptional, the restaurant and bar first class. The opportunity to enhance the stay with outdoor experiences was something we enjoyed taking up.
Tiny thing, but being charged service with then a further gratuity option on the bill to decline or accept is potentially awkward. Fortunately our service was so good we were happy to top up, but it’s not an approach I’m personally comfortable with.
A lot of green space
Terrible WiFi connection
It would have been helpful if we could have reached our room in the Stables without having to negotiate stairs. My wife is disabled and uses a wheelchair.
The estate is beautiful. The hotel felt cosy and we absolutely loved how dog friendly it was. The views over the valley are stunning. Our room in the Stables was very cute and comfortable. We loved the nice touches for our dog and for my husband’s birthday. The staff were super friendly.
We were a little bit disappointed with the food. We had dinner the first night and the food could be improved. The cocktails were really good however. Breakfast was similar. The buffet was nice. The cooked food was good but nothing special.
The estate was beautiful with stunning views
I didn’t like the service charge being added to every bill
The food was unbelievable. The best roast dinner I have ever had. Nothing was ever any bother to the staff. All so helpful, kind and very informative. The facilities were amazing and the hotel caters for everyone from couples, family's and even dog owners and if you are a fan of nature then this hotel is for you. Listening to all the different birds in the morning was so peaceful. Could not recommend this hotel enough
I couldn't get the kettle in the room to work but they may have just been me.
A wonderful hotel in the country side not far from Broadway UK in the Cotswolds. I can't say enough good things about the staff, Max, Katie, Grace, Grace and others whose names unfortunately I've forgotten. We were in a Coach House Suite with plenty of space. Dining in the hotel restaurant was great. A great base to explore the Cotswolds!
Lovely setting, clean, comfortable rooms, very friendly staff! Great breakfast and dinner at the Fish was delightful. Scrabble in the bar one evening was very fun.
Pillows were eh, so requested different ones which were there for us when we returned for the day.
All the food was delicious! The staff were lovely. Loved the comfortable outdoor furniture Loved the access to green field and views
Nothing really , we loved it and it fulfilled our needs to have relaxation, peace and good food!
Everything... we love going to the fish its ao relaxing and staff rooms and food excellent..
Only small complaint would be breakfast. Great cooked breakfast but need to sort out coffees and teas . We got our cooked breakfast before we got out tea coffees.....
The grounds were excellent for short walks or longer in to broadway. The bar and restaurant were very convenient and very comfortable
The WiFi was poor but hey we were on a break so who cares
Me and the OH recently had a night here at The Fish and had dinner in Hook and breakfast the next morning. Lovely location which feels secluded and far away from the maddening crowd. Easy to find with good sign posts and the instructions given by the hotel in their welcome email. Arrival and check in was smooth, easy and completed quickly before being directed to your accommodation. We went to the bar for a drink and were immediately greeted by a staff member and given bar menus however they then disappeared and we were just left in the bar area sat there waiting. Around 15 minutes later another guest went to find a staff member as they wanted their drink refreshed and once that had happened this staff member then asked if we would like to order anything. The hotel quite clearly says it’s dog friendly and I would say that’s an understatement, we did not have a dog with us and definitely felt like the odd ones out especially in the bar and lounge area where everyone else had one or more dogs with them (all very well behaved). Dogs are however not permitted into Hook, the restaurant. The accommodation is to a good standard and there was nothing ‘missing’ that we thought would be standard in this level of hotel, however you do have to be qr code trained as all the details on things such as heating etc etc are accessed through qr codes in your room. We are not particularly qr code savvy and therefore didn’t find this out until the next day when I asked how could I have done something and was told scanning the qr codes was the gateway to all knowledge. The hotel accommodation is spread out and some of the pathways / roads / steps between your accommodation and the main lodge are quite steep. We enjoyed our nights stay here and the food was very enjoyable, it was an experience and although we like dogs there were just too many around for us.
Welcoming arrival and promptly shown to our room . Free electric car charging also a great perk. Breakfast was very tasty with great service
Facilities were lacking , a gym overlooking the amazing view or an inside pool would have made the stay exceptional for us
What an amazing break we've had at The Fish. We stayed in the lovely Lancaster cottage overlooking miles of beautiful scenery and are only sorry we didn't bring the dogs along! The staff are simply amazing. From our arrival at reception through to check out and all in between (bar staff, restaurant staff, activity coordinator, who we bumped into on a walk who gave us a brief history on the place), all clearly love working at this idyllic spot. Amazing food in Hook last night and super breakfast this morning. If you want a relaxed bit of luxury away from home this place is it. No pressure, extremely quiet, clean and bright, a true gem. Thankyou to all the staff we came across you made our special break extra special and we look forward to returning soon.
As a dog-owner with a fair amount of experience of staying at 'dog-friendly' hotels across the UK, I feel qualified to make this statement: The Fish is by far the best dog-friendly hotel I've ever stayed at. We were met at the door by Katie, who was super-efficient and friendly and had us checked-in with the room key in my hand and information about all the facilities within 5 minutes. This included directions to our room, the bar, the restaurant, the boot room, the lounge, and what the best local walk was. There's plenty of parking at the various buildings that comprise the hotel complex. The room itself (in The Stables block) was perfectly decent. A king-sized bed, TV, solid WiFi, tea/coffee/water right there, a card for the wine machine down the hall (preloaded with a complimentary glass each), sweeties in jars outside, and all clean and fresh. Bathroom toiletries not from the dull Molton Brown collection you see everywhere but instead a variety of unguents from another brand I've forgotten, but all very pleasant. Our dog had her own bed waiting, with a towel and toy, food/water bowls, a scrummy treat, and tennis balls aplenty. Outside was a bath and agility area. Dogs are allowed EVERYWHERE except the restaurant - which is fine because... The bar and lounge areas are exceptionally comfortable - both for us and the hound (plump floor cushions and VetBeds aplenty for princes and princesses alike). Eating from the restaurant menu in the bar area was entirely acceptable - some hotels banish owners and their dogs to dark uncomfortable corners and treat them as second-class diners. Not so here. The bar was well-stocked and well-run - good prosecco was provided when requested, and they knew how to mix a whisky sour. The wine cellar was varied and priced reasonably - both reds and whites were entirely palatable. And the food... dinner on the first night was London West End quality (I know because I live there). I've eaten lesser food in celebrity-chef restaurants, and paid more money for it. Breakfast the following morning was a Full English and absolutely nailed it. The second night was a replica of the first - excellent dishes prepared perfectly and served with a smile. Wines by the glass or caraffe. Post-meal digestivos (a cocktail for me, prosecco for her) provided from the bar to the comfy chairs we'd decamped to. The country and woodland walks around the 500-acre estate are well marked, graded by difficulty/distance, and thoroughly enjoyable for both 2 and 4 legs. There's a lake, bee meadows, some wildlife (sheep in neighbouring fields, deer roaming occasionally) and stunning views. One minor niggle with the room: the aircon controls were locked, so the room was a little too cool overnight for her. We asked for, and got, an extra blanket for the second night, and it transpired that there's a combi cooler/heater fan tucked in a cupboard. The dog and I were fine though, so it's only those who are sensitive to the chillier night temperatures of early Spring who might need the additional warmth. I don't think I've ever rated a hotel as a 10/10, but The Fish deserves it - even with the little room temperature problem. It's not the cheapest hotel, but also not the most expensive, and if you're looking for a slice of perfection for yourself and your pooch, it's worth every penny. We've already booked our next stay here.
