The F&B staff didn't know what was available or was available during dinner and breakfast. Everyone kept asking someone for confirmation. When we wanted to place a coffee order during the night via room service it was informed that the coffee would be cold by the time it would be delivered to the room, which sounded ridiculous.

The hotel is located in a beautiful spot and we loved the experience. The hotel staff was very friendly, especially Chamodi, Nadeesha and Hansi. The food was great too.

Our stay was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. The experience started with the beautiful boat ride to the hotel, which was truly unforgettable and set the tone for an amazing getaway. A special thank you to Hansini from the Front Office, who made our stay exceptional. She arranged everything perfectly, provided us with all the information we needed, and welcomed us with such genuine warmth and professionalism. Her kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to help made us feel valued from the moment we arrived. She truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience, and her hospitality made our stay even more memorable. Thank you to the entire team for an incredible experience. We look forward to visiting again!

Reception on arrival at 2 am was excellent. Professional and efficient. I was meant to pay upon departure but they tried to deduct before we had even arrived in SL. Corridor to room had no lightbulbs and our room had incomplete room numbers on the door. Room was relatively clean but bathroom floor was peeling, bin was metal and rusting and was a swing bin so you had to touch it. Voile curtain by terrace were dirty and torn. Got an ironing board but limited plug points so choice was under the tv or physically shift the table and chair. Cleaners were thorough every day. The lights were fixed on our 3rd day and after I asked for them to maybe fix the door number, it was done in under 2 hours on our last day. Restaurant was ok. Main restaurant was exceptionally warm. We had to pay for breakfast which I would rate 6/10. Staff were really nice but seemed a little disorganised. Asking for a taxi took a lot of effort. It ended with the nightshift reception guy just laughing when I asked about prices and if he could translate for me. He just couldn’t be bothered and it showed. I made sure that we did not have him for check out. The receptionist who did the check out was helpful & efficient. Location is nice but trying to get a tuk tuk can be difficult unless you walk the 10/15 mins back to main road. We used the back road of the hotel to visit relatives in another hotel, nice walk and during the day, quite safe. Might be an idea to give guests a wrist band because we had to keep trying to prove we were staying there with security. I would not go back because I think you pay a lot for just accommodation. Bathrooms need a re fresh. Pool area is ok, quite basic.

Beautiful beachfront location, friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent facilities. The boat ride to reach the hotel made the experience even more special.

Location is perfect and boat service also very nice experience to reach to hotel. Overall it’s a good hotel.

Checkout process is also simple but the person who was at the reception was not doing it properly and not fast enough to arrange the baggages bringing back from room and had to check few times. And also reception is located non Air-conditioned due to that place is very hot. Air conditioning system in the rooms are bit old and not correctly control the temperature.

The garden and teh large pool with its warm water is great. the beach is also nice, waves are nice to play with but you have to watch your children very carefully. Souvenir shops are nice and cheap - recommend to buy your memories there. The boy who cleaned our rooms was very kind and creative. Our kids loved the animals he made from towels.

Personnel is disappointing, not helpful, not proactive. The poolbar bartender is rude. The á la carte waiters are slow. Those at the reception were not for solving your problem, not for answering your questions or help you with your problems. The whole building is a little bit odd - it has nothing to do with any NH hotel quality in Europe. Food and especially the drinks are poor. Be careful at the pool - in case you have nothing but the towel they give you and if you go swimming they just simply take your staff away and give teh sunbed to someone else...

The view of the river, lush greenery, boat ride to the property was a nice taste.

Had a musty smell in my room so poor ventilation. AC needs maintenance, the room could’ve been clearer as well as the linen.

Overall, the hotel is very nice and the location is excellent. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff are attentive and willing to listen. We did experience an issue, but it was resolved through open communication.

The main thing I didn’t like was the package concept. We booked an “all-inclusive” stay, but meals were only valid at one restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At the poolside areas, even with the all-inclusive package, you could only get drinks. Items such as pizza, hamburgers, and French fries were charged extra at the à la carte restaurant. In that case, why call it “all-inclusive”? It feels more like full board plus drinks. If you have children like we do, and they struggle with the mainly local cuisine served at the main restaurant, you may want to order more familiar options like pasta or pizza. However, even with an all-inclusive package, you still have to pay extra for those items.

The staff were not helpful, didn’t understand English and took their time to do everything. Just a pain to get anything done.

Propery location is very nice

Staff is very rude and our bed was broken for 2 days and no fix was provided and no one from room service came to check inspite of multiple calls to reception. I made a request for my son’s birthday cake and hotel confirmed at time of booking but no cake was provided from them on birth day. They literally ruined our experience.

Good breakfast selection was available however, hot food is always cold never hot.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Our room was big and spacious however, there was no bathrobe, slipper and hand towel.

The atmosphere is peaceful, the views are cinematic, and the entire setting is perfect for unwinding with family. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, conversations deepen, and every moment feels precious. For us, this wasn’t just a stay — it was an experience. Without hesitation, this stands as the best resort we have ever stayed in.

A disappointing experience for what should have been a beautiful stay. The property felt poorly maintained, with many things seemingly out of order. Food options were very limited and heavily catered toward Indian guests, leaving little variety for international travelers. Breakfast, however, was the one bright spot — well-balanced and enjoyable. We booked two rooms: one was acceptable, but the other was shockingly below standard. Basic amenities were missing, the TV and safe were completely broken, and no effort was made to repair them. The room key cards kept malfunctioning despite careful handling; over two nights we had to rotate through five or six keys just to access our room. The breakfast hall’s air-conditioning was also out of service, and staff did not inform guests. With all doors kept closed, everyone was left sweating and uncomfortable. Even at checkout, when we simply asked for tissue paper because we were drenched in sweat, the staff couldn’t provide a single one. We understand Sri Lanka has faced difficult times, but in a luxury beach resort, the essence lies in care, attention, and commitment. Many of the issues we faced don’t require major investment — just the right people with the right mindset to restore the magic this place once had.

Lovely hotel to start our Sri Lanka adventure. Great pool, right on the beach, excellent food and fun boat-ride to get to reception. Really helpful and friendly staff who helped with early check-in. Beds really comfy. Took about 90mins in a taxi from Colombo international. Would highly recommend.

The beach was nice and the swimming pool was ok.

There are many issues with this place. To sum it up, the facility is dated, the food is not good, and there are general hygiene issues. The staff are polite but lacked authenticity. Avoid it if you can but I should admit it wasn't my only unpleasant experience in Sri Lanka. So, avoid the country. It is not ready for tourism.

Понравился завтрак: яйца в разных видах, национальные блюда, сосиски, колбаса, сыры, выпечка (шикарные круассаны), фрукты, соки, овощи, хлопья. Хороший-чистый и теплый бассейн, всегда есть лежаки. Отличный океан, можно плавать, волны бывают, но не всегда, не такие сильные и нет такого сильного обратного течения как, например, в Коггала. Пляж широкий и пустой.

Обслуживание в кафе у бассейна. Поесть в отеле дорого, к стоимости блюд в меню необходимо добавлять 30%- обслуживание и налоги. В итоге, дороже, чем вне отеля, примерно на 30% как раз, чаевые ты вынужден отдать вне зависимости от качества обслуживания. В течение 8 дней заказывали по несколько паст Карбонара, но она разная, даже в рамках одного заказа паста может оказаться разной у двух человек, а когда это дети - проблема возрастает. Заказали три пасты-две принесли с жидким соусом и посыпанную сушеной травой, одна хорошая сливочная, без приправы. Ожидание блюда, как и в большинстве заведений на Шри-Ланке-более часа, поменять достаточно проблематично, надо заново ждать час. Один раз заказали Цезарь с креветками, принесли с курицей-попросила поменять, официант предложил просто дополнительно принести креветки, согласилась, прождала два часа, несколько напоминаний-креветок не получила. И прямо чувствуешь, что официант тебе улыбается, говорит «да, да», а по факту тянет время в ожидании, что ты не дождешься. Чтобы поесть вне отеля, необходимо пройти пешком минут 15-20 вдоль океана, но вечером выход со стороны океана закрывают.

Pool was good and beach was nice

The service in the hotel was terrible. the rooms were smelly very musty. The bed sheets and pillows smelt damp. The service in the restaurant poolside was very poor. The reservations team were very unhelpful. I paid almost $450 per night, not the level of service I was expecting for such an expensive hotel. I will not be going there again.

Hansini greeting me with her kindness on check-in, She politely saw my tiredness and said, I have upgraded you to a junior suite and no need to pay now, settle in to your room and you can pay later. Incredible. I was fortuitous to meet the Director of Operations, Dammika, and the Executive Assistant Manager, Tharanga, and the Front Office Manager, Shalindra who were meticulous over my wellbeing and importantly making me feel like I was an extension to their family, the hotel is driven by empathic values and the level of detail showed in the employee responses to everyday needs. The breakfast team were incredible too; Suranjith, Shashini, Halantha, Ruwin, Tharanga, Vinod, Shevin and Dananjaya. Every day my room was cleaned to a high level of detail, twice and on some days 3 times with the bed down service, the bed would be decorated daily, with kind messages, Madushanka and Kalihga were exceptional. The restaurants offer some of the greatest dishes of Sri-Lankan cuisine from street food, to fresh fish, I was particularly happy with the service and food I received in the Siam Pearl restaurant and the New Years Eve Gala was truly amazing. Everyday there are activities around the hotel, Chintaka will keep you busy with water aerobics or water volley bowl, he was a sensation. If you decide just to relax I found the pool staff incredible, organising my sunbed the towels and my regular spot. Finally, the Spa, WOW is the only word I can use to describe Dulmi and Raith, the massages and treatments across my stay were totally rejuvenating . Truly the best, on arrival I had a 2.5 hours treatment that was simply the best treatment of its kind, the treatment was some of the best I have ever received globally in any Spa. After two weeks, I am not sure how you will ever experience a better resort under the stewardship of its leadership than Ceysands.

Excellent Location right in front of the beach. The Beach is very clean, but the hotel does not provide you with beach benches :-( Very good and a big pool.

The Property Claims to have the best breakfast. We acknowledge that there were a lot of options, but they lacked taste. Hotel Staff from Front Office to Housekeeping to Room Service take a long time to respond. Most of the time, you have to visit them since they do not pick up your call. The property opened in 2014, and it seems not a single rupee has been spent on renovation and upgrade. The Front Office welcomes you with time-old furniture. Access to the Property is via boat since there is no parking at the property. It sounds fancy, but it is very tiring and time-consuming with a 10-year-old boat. Rooms on the Ground Floor facing the Swimming Pool may experience uninvited guests such as lizards/crabs, etc., since the room is in front of the pool/beach. We were honored to have a crab visiting at the time when we were having dinner.

We experienced bed bug bites during our stay. As a result, we had to discard our luggage, isolate ourselves, and seek medical treatment. Despite multiple messages, the hotel stopped responding entirely, which is unacceptable.

Nothing . Wifi was strong and so was the boating facility was fast to cross river to reach either side .

Food was most horrible . Staff including reception staff were fresh and untrained Intern staff . All staff were very slow be it at front desk or restaurant . Chef was most untrained We tried to order Ala carte they did not bother to professionally serve . Horrible experience .

The property was really dated compared to what we would expect from the pictures and the price we paid. There was a smell of mould/damp in the room so we turned the air con off and after a day it smelt better, which is concerning. The bathroom had a really bad smell. You have to get a boat over the river to get to the hotel when you arrive which some might find nice but I found it annoying. Also, you are not allowed to leave the hotel via the beach exit after 8pm which was frustrating as we were going to the hotel next door for dinner. There are simple things such as water bottles being replaced in the room each day which didn’t happen and we then had to ask for, and this stops it from having a 4 star feel. Overall the staff were ok.

Smooth check-in, rooms were ready, a very warm welcome at the reception. House keeping staff was amazing Mr Nuwan kept our rooms super clean and tidy, when travelling with kids, this is a warm feeling for me. breakfast spread was wide, local cusine was enjoyable, the chef and staff gave their personal touches and thus the BF didnt feel like mass produced food. Ms Shashini at the restaurant always welcomed our family warmly, the staff made us comfortable.

We liked the pool and the beach.

This hotel is NOT good value for money, actually one of the worst place we have stayed at for the money we paid. Our room was really humid and smelled like mold, even the bed sheets smelled like mold.. It was dirty, stains on the sofa, on the curtains, on the table. It was water slowly coming down one wall. We talked to the staff and their solution to the smell was to bring a scented candle. Would not advise anyone to book this hotel. Not value for money.

We stayed here for five days, and from beginning to end the service was excellent. We received a very warm welcome at the reception, and the restaurant staff were all exceptionally kind, friendly, and always greeted us with a smile. The rooms were comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Housekeeping also provided very good service throughout our stay. We would especially like to thank our housekeeper, Mr. Suresh, who consistently went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. He is very friendly, polite, and kind, and we truly appreciated his efforts.

The hotel needs serious renovation. Beds are old and uncomfortable. Fridge was missing in the room, room was very old and dirty. Also very loud music to late night and you hear everything on the path-side outside starting at 06.00 am.
