오래된 건물이지만 관리를 잘하셔서 불편함 없이 잘 지냈습니다. 이번이 3번째 방문일 정도로 벳푸를 가면 이 호텔을 선택합니다. 이번에도 잘 머물다 왔습니다..
Great ryokan, very comfortable futons, friendly staff, used the private onsen for 500 yen for 50minutes which is a great experience. Please note parking is charged at 880 yen (this is per entrance).
The two of us enjoyed a very pleasant stay and slept comfortably on the Japanese futons. The facility is in good condition and has a wonderful public bath to wash off the stress of the day. Free hot refreshments are available anny time and the breakfast was excellent. Many nice restaurants are a short walk away. Wish I could have stayed longer.
-Cheap stay hotel option but safe and clean -Lots of space In the room. -Double stack futon if not used to hard beds -unlimited laundry for 300yen. -need to ask for hair dryer -nice public lounge room -free towels for public onsen, for guests -can book private family onsen for 500yen
We loved everything about this cute local place. Very comfortable and nice . The staff are very helpful. The place is very calm, the breakfast is absolutely amazing. Highly recommend it.
Great loca
Staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed booking the private onsen with the mosaic art on the walls.
We can’t thank the staff enough for their outstanding care during our stay! My husband sprained his ankle, and they went above and beyond to ensure he was comfortable and well taken care of. From providing ice packs and extra pillows for support to assisting us with finding local medical care, their kindness and hospitality were truly remarkable. Every interaction with the staffs was met with genuine empathy and a willingness to help. This level of service made a challenging situation much easier to navigate. We highly recommend this hotel for their exceptional hospitality.
The place is not obvious from the main road and it took us a while to find it, using Google Maps. The inn is walking distance from Takegawara Spa, which had better signage. There are nearby shopping malls so food and shopping is not a problem. The staff were very helpful. After storing our bags before our check-in, the staff were very helpful in guiding us how to get to Beppu Hells. The bus terminal, next to the JR station, is walking distance away. There are free public baths within the inn but we rented a private one for 50 mins. It allowed my shy family members to each take turns to use the onsen privately. Such a great option for us! The breakfast experience was lovely. Even though the serving staff could not speak English, she was very enthusiastic as she gestured how to eat and enjoy the food.
Excellent value for money. Very enjoyable stay in close proximity to everything from food to shopping and rail station.
Very close to Takegawara Onsen and Beppu Station! In house public onsen was good (L1 and L2 onsen swaps genders in the morning and evening allowing guests to experience both available onsens).
Convenient as there's transport to various attractions
this Ryokan full of traditional effect ,the Japanese room was fantastic, full of cultural senses, it was a wonderful stay
We chose ryokan, and there is no attached bathroom for shower. You can either use the public bath or book the private onsen. My son sprained his ankle while visiting the attractions. When we went back to the hotel, the boss gave us ice wrapped in the towel to ice the swollen ankle, arranged with the hospital staff for an appointment with the doctor and called the cab. He even came to our room in the evening to check on us. All the staff were also helpful and friendly. 👍😊 Great breakfast 😋
Everyone was extremely nice, welcome, and accommodating to last minute changes. Awesome stay!
Good location near airport shuttle and beppu station. Onsen small. Laundry room two wash two dryer very handy. Manga lounge chair very comfortable. Good value. No bicycle rental available even though website says so.
It was a great little ryokan. Only annoying part was despite the fact it was a modernized Ryokan, they had no privaye showers, just a public bath with no private showers. You can book a private hot spring for 800 yen, it was on sale for 500. Very nice hot spring, but i wish the had private showers
We hasd to change the room because of old tatami
The ryokan is an unusual experience for most travelers. I know what it’s about so I enjoyed it. It’s a traditional Japanese room with access to on-site public and private onsens. While the WiFi was not reliable, the other amenities like laundry, the lounges, and the friendly staff more than made up for it. Be forewarned though. If you are not familiar with what a ryokan usually offers, you need to research it. Otherwise, you may disappointed to find that you are sleeping on a futon and not a traditional mattress. Also, the surrounding area was quiet but the location was slightly suspect.
It was overall a nice stay. We enjoyed the private onsen a lot and the ryokan had a nice atmosphere. It could though use a bit of renewal some places, because wear and tear throughout the years, but it wasn't anything that bothered us at all.
Proper Japanese style Ryokan with hotspring bath at a great price in the right spot of Beppu.
The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. Close to Takegawara Onsen.
This ryokan is at a convenient location. We could wear their yukata, sandals, and also borrow their towel and walk to Takegawara Onsen for a sand bath. We stayed in a Japanese style room with tatami and futon. The room seems a bit rundown but acceptable. We also booked the family bath (500 yen for 50 min), which was a nice experience. There was free coffee/tea and water machine on each floor, and we had no problem with the wifi reception. The staff was nice and friendly and we saw many non-Japanese speaking guests there.
Breakfast was excellent, location was great. Only down side is the hot water in shower may not be hot enough
Quaint ryokan. Spacious family tatami room for 4. 2 raised sleeping areas. Bathroom has 2 sinks which was really convenient. At first I was worried about noise as the room is right next to reception but there was an inner door so we didn’t hear anything at all. Breakfast was delicious and sufficient with mainly fish and vegetables. Tables were pre-assigned and were already set whenever we arrive in the morning; so we got seated right away and the food were quickly brought out. Staff uncles and aunties at reception and dining room were friendly and helpful. Parking spaces very limited but we were directed to park at the lot right beside the hotel and it cost the same. A few minutes walk to the youme mall which is open till quite late. There is a laundry room for which you pay a small fee per stay to use. We enjoyed our stay.
Very historic family style ryokan. The overall hotel and most rooms are quite old but it was cheap with decent breakfast (though my child didn't eat much of her food for breakfast which was a bit cold and charged extra - she generally enjoys food). We had a room that didn't include cleaning and it was larger than expected but in the end we wished we booked something a bit nicer / better / newer as we stayed multiple nights (one night would've been totally fine).
Sleeping on Tatami was comfortable, very spacious room with a very big toilet, staff was very friendly and speaks decent English, parking lots can be reserved for the night.
Very convenient location to the train station and the Takegawara Onsen. The breakfast is served by the sweetest, jolliest waitress. It is a very traditional Japanese breakfast and worth the experience. The rooms are simple with beds on the tatami mat which I found very comfortable. Private bathroom included. The private family onsen is clean. The only complaint I would have is the sulfur smell coming from the plumbing but as long as the bathroom door is kept shut it was tolerable.
Stayed here for 2 nights. It's a traditional ryokan, facilities look old but otherwise clean. I reserved a parking lot when I booked the ryokan. Check in and out are efficient. The counter staff are very friendly and helpful. My only issue with this place is that water takes too long to warm up. Needed to keep water running for up to 5 mins. Felt so guilty with wasting water but had no choice because the water was really too cold.
Room looked newly renovated and the breakfast was elaborate and delicious.
The property is a little old, as to be expected from ryokan. But the rooms are big and comfortable, the public bath is small (fits around 4 people) but it’s not busy, and the staffs are nice and helpful.
- Convenient location: near the train station - Japanese-style room - clean and spacious - You can easily reserve a private onsen bath - Japanese breakfast - excellent - Free beverages - Staff - polite and friendly - Price is really reasonable!
A quaint little Ryokan in the heart of Beppu! No matter the package plan you made, please do try the Kashikiri (private) onsen! Staffs are friendly and can understand English! All in all 5 stars!
Staffs are very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. The only negative thing I will say, is, the toilet sink was a bit old.
设施比较陈旧了日式旅馆,但是可以看到曾经的辉煌与用心。个人认为性价比很高,有私汤并且是天然温泉。最后记得入住即预约私汤的时间
We stayed there for 3 nights with our dauthers and it was a very cool experience for us. The room was very big and clean. The location is near the bus stop and also the main Beppu train and bus station.
Excellent facilities, location, and service. We love the private onsen! It has good wifi. (When there is a wifi issue, they will reset it to have it fixed right away.) You can also adjust the room temperature to fit your needs. The other advantage is that there is free tea, coffee, and water. There is also coin laundry for your convenience.
We enjoyed our two night stays. It was an old property but it was clean and the oldness was one of the charms in the hot spring area. There were private hot spring rooms and my daughter who was shy in the public bathroom and I extremely enjoyed. Plus the stuff at front desk and at the breakfast were very friendly.
Nice small inn at the alley of Beppu. Nearby station ten minutes walk, and two more malls nearby. Lots of restaurant around although might not be open during weekdays.
Onsite onsen, attentive staff, reasonable breakfast.
Budget ryokon within walking distance of Beppu Station and a good variety of restaurants. Onset experience for 500 yen for 50 minutes was good but didn't use spring water. Coffee available in the breakfast restaurant on level 2. Bedding was very hard and uncomfortable but probably typical Japanese.
Old building, no USB charging
Nice room, helpful staff, very convenient location, excellent breakfast. Bookable private onsen was a plus. On the downside, parts of the facility need upgrade and the tatami/futon combo was super hard, like a rock in fact. Did my back in!
Parking was limited. Restaurants around were all full. Noisy with crows calling out at 4.30am. Only the front staff n dining staff were kind and helpful. However evening front staff were rather curt, and when we requested for ice, we were told it would be brought up but it never arrived.
I enjoyed my stay very much
The Onsen a bit old version
The hotel was located right in the middle of the strip so there was plenty of restaurants and shops to go to. It was also only about a 6 min walk to the station so it was very convenient. The room was quite roomy and was tatami style, which was very clean as well. There was a separate bath for men and women in the hotel. Also 2 private baths you can reserve for you and your family which was very nice and private. The hotel is conveniently located only a short 3 min walk to the famous Takegawara onsen if you want to experience a relaxing sand bath as well!
The hot springs at this location are hot, good temperature, maybe even too hot for some people. Old looking accommodation but fine for the money.
Nice old traditional hotel. Has nice onsen. Rooms are the old tatami type. Bathroom are basic. Friendly staff
Spatious room, not too far from the train station. The room i booked had Japanese futons which were really hard which, I assume, is how the Japanese like them. The onsen was good. They have a couple of private baths as well that you can book.
Onsen was wonderful, The staff went above and beyond to make your stay a positive experience.
Very nice property, staff is very friendly and helpful and the location is quite central to a lot of good food and restaurants. The room is well appointed and set up nicely with a complimentary phone/guide that you can take with you. The dining areas were clean and and the serving staff was kind. I do wish the onsen was a bit hotter, and also the food could be upgraded - the food was good, but more on the basic end.
We were supposed to stay at the hotel 2 nights, but got stuck at some intermediate train station the first night because of a typhoon, with the train being delayed and delayed and then canceled. It was a difficult, exhausting night, more stressful because our Japanese is limited. The hotel staff was so good to us, and helped us check in the next morning when we finally got in—outside of normal check in hours—and didn’t charge us for the first night that spent at the train station. And the hotel was lovely. Traditional Japanese but with the major convenience of a private bathroom. Kind staff who also gave us great advice on where to find fabulous ice cream. (Omg that ice cream. All sorts of tea flavors.) Clean, well-maintained, conveniently located.
The staff is kind and the accomodation is nice. It is very close to the red lamp District.
The location fo the property is good. But the room is old and not clean.
Stayed in this ryokan and was glad they have nice private onsen for family to use. The family room is clean and spacious. Breakfast is nice but have to order a day in advance. Nearby to a nice bakery. Convenient to walk to the train station.
It is a nice osen hotel, not the trandition type, but still show it's age. The staff are nice and friendly. A bit far away from train station but still within walking distance.
In centre of Beppu town close to shopping streets, area around at night has a lot of clubs, but safe. 5-10 mins walk from Beppu train station. Japanese room for 3 was spacious and well laid out. There was an onsen, which could get crowded at busy times. Room was clean. Parking is available for 500yen.
The room is nice, clean and spacious. Location is good.
It's my first experience in a ryokan. It's nice. This ryokan has thermal baths. I have enjoyed it. So relaxing. The tatami is harder than I expected, but I walked up without stiffness.
Onsen private bath.. Near station and near the sand bath popular place
Overall stay was good but the futon is so thin that i feel i am sleeping on the hard floor.
Simple and not expensive. Located less than 1 minute away from Takegawara Onsen - a must go to place in Beppu.
we stayed at toji room.the floor in the room is cold and there is no privacy at all with a thin door. you can hear external sounds, and you can not watch TV with out headphones.there are seasonal mosquitoes.there is neither a toilet nor a sink. if this is 1000 yen level. i will never stay again. people who do not understand talking acceptance, correspondence is the worst. tojiルームは最悪でした。
Stayed one night at the ryokan. While the shared area offered good modern comfort (water dispenser, lift, etc.), the room I booked was set up in the traditional Japanese style complete with futons and tatami mats. It's possible to book a slot to use one of the private onsens. Also, the meals I had were great, with the half-board option including a mug of beer in addition to a very filling dinner. The ryokan also accommodated preferences - with western-style eating area and breakfast choices (although I would recommend picking the Japanese-style options).
Nice private baths, room was big and had all the amenities. The staff were also very helpful and aided us whenever they could. Onsens were well stocked and well maintained. Very good stay! Highly recommended. It was also in an area that was close to convenience stores and shopping areas.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. However the room floor wasn't very hygienic, there were spots of stains all over and we had to sleep on the floor with tatami style so I wasn't very pleased. Also the shower room had this foul smell from the pipes so we had to keep the room door closed. The shower room had no shower head but other 2 rooms did as we had 3 rooms checked in in total, so it's inconvenient for us. Even our friends had the shower heads, the water taps weren't working properly like it's either super hot or cold which you can't adjust to have warm water to shower.
Good location, half way from JR station and beach. The room is too small for 4 people but the private onsen is the must.
We stayed two nights there with our toddler and baby. The room was nice led but nice size for us. We loved the location, room size, great hot bath etc... but we didn’t like the smell of Futon. The futon smelt cigarette so we had to wash our PJ every day.. it was really strong cigarette smell. Otherwise I would love to go back there!
A wonderful place. I would be glad to stay here again. Friendly staff and helpful. Needed to do some laundry (family of 4 staying in Japan for 2 weeks and was at Kagoshima volcano day before) and they help me out. We like / very good breakfast and it was quiet, yet close to where we wanted to go (sand baths) and not too far for us (~ 700 meters) to walk to the Beppu station at any time of day. Great price on ice cream in lobby freezer (well kids thought so) and relatively close supermarket / mall for shopping (less than 350 meters) where wife found some needed sunblock. Not perfect with English, but good enough and they understood what I needed using smart phone app translator. Happy with the onsen, better than my stay in Nikko.
Everything is good except my room didnt have a toilet
The ryokan is very well located in Beppu, with eateries and shops close by. Check in was quick and efficient and although the operators speak minimal English, communication was not a problem. We liked the on-site onsen and although we had to book our time slot, it was fine. There is a free vending machine for hot/cold tea and coffee on our floor (4th floor) and it is very welcome. Only problem for us was the ryokan does not have its own parking area and hence, overnight parking is charged at 500 yen, which is almost comparable to public car parks. Nevertheless, it remains a very good experience for us and we would recommend it.
I stayed at the ryokan for 1 night. Overall, I have nothing to complaint about my stay at the ryokan. The location was great - about 10 mins from Beppu station and it is pretty easy to find. The room was small, but it has everything you need - a bed and a TV. The staff spoke good English and was very friendly. There is also a public bath, which is free, and the private bath, which you have to reserve and pay for. I didn't have a chance to try them as there are plenty of onsens in Beppu!
Very chill Ryokan in the middle of Beppu. It is located about 7 minutes from the train station, so within walking distance. The hotel staff is very helpful and the food was delicious. There is an onsen right in the Hotel, giving you the real Beppu experience. You can either use the public onsen or reserve the private onsen which I didn't try since I only stayed one night. The beds in the Modern Japanese Tourist rooms are very comfortable. Now the flaws: The onsen seems to be outdated and the walls look as if they need some cleaning since a while, the mirrors in the onsen are cloudy and give you a dirty feeling. The water temperature was to high for my taste. Since there are no rules hung up at the walls unexperienced chinese tourists just walked straight into the bath withou rinsing themselves off, for me it was fine since it was my 3rd onsen ever, however an experienced onsen guest could consider that as wrong and not hygenic. Moreover, I have a fear of Spiders, I walked into my room and I had to see a spider sitting ontop of my bed which was already a downturn. Additionally, the walls are very thin making it hard to sleep at night espacially when guests upstairs have a good laughter... However, I give the hotel 3 stars because the breakfast (japanese style) was very delicious and the staff was very very friendly, the rooms were tidy and the bed comfortable.
We got a traditional Japanese style room, which was spacey enough. I liked to sleep on futon bed, my wife didn't. It's a little hard, but I think ok. Japanese style breakfast was also ok, as well as private onsen. Only minus in hotel is that almost all the interior needs updating, not in style, but in condition. While we were visiting it they had already started to renovate lady's onsen, so I guess other interiors will be better too... Location is great, near to everything in Beppu
We wanted to try a ryokan and this provided a good opportunity for one but with a few comforts. Our room was lovely with shower room, separate toilet and area with wash basin, table and chairs and fridge. It also had a TV and plenty of space in the sleeping area. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and everything was lovely and clean. It was within walking distance of the train station and close to the waterfront and Tower. We would certainly recommend it.
The hotel needs a makeover badly. The corridor leading to the rooms is dingy, the cabinet door under the sink is held up with adhesive tapes.
10 minutes walk from beppu train station. our traditional room was very nice and clean. Just a little bit noisy. Sea is 5min by walk but the most beautiful part is quite far, better to take the bus. The hotel is quite far from jingoku meguri but there is some bus too. The onsen were so great! There is some private one, so perfect for people who have tatoos.
Inside the narrow street but near Takegawara Spa, easy to find. They provide free towel to let us to go to Takegawara Spa. Shopping and eating place are near. Big Japanese style room for our family with toilet inside. Free drink near staircase. Reading area at 3/F. JPY 150 is the tax for every adult. Private Spa reservation required when check-in.
It is close to Beppu station, budget to stay. However if you are staying the in the budget room that is without bathroom, the public bathroom and onsen environment is not so impressing. Room is decent but the sound isolation is poor.
Nice breakfast & comfort
We spent 3 night in this ryokan, we enjoyed it very much the japanese style room was very spacious and clean. onze a day you can reserve a private onsen for free and you can use the public onsen as much as you like. The onsen need a good scrub some time but overall good value for money. Location is nice also. Don't expect the staff to speak english though.
Good place to stay in Beppu. Good private onsen. Good service
We thought that it would be nice to try once a ryokan but I do not ever want to use this ryokan again. First we thought we have own bathroom, we did not. The room we got was so small that there were nothing but the bed and floor 2m x 2m. Toilets were far away from the room, there was only one for 8 rooms and it was dirty and cold. Dwellers came during the night from the city, last ones 3 am. We could not sleep because they talked loudly outside our door for an hour. The breakfast was not the one we were promised. If ryokans are always like this, they are not for me because I want to have a good night sleep to be able to enjoy my vacations. I was disappointed.
very traditional hot spring, nice staff and parking is close
A great way to experience private onsen facilities and a ryokan at an affordable price. This place ticks all the boxes. Walkable from the station and close to buses, they have both communal and private onsen options. There are 3 private baths to choose from, easy to book at the front desk. We stayed 3 nights so tried a different one each night. Our room also had a private bathroom. The room itself was spacious for 3 people. Tatami flooring and futon bedding was comfortable. We tried both the Japanese and western breakfasts included in the booking. I would recommend the western. Overall it was a great ryokan place and I would recommend to others.
I would recommend staying here. I showed up at 10:30pm, which is advertised past check in time but was quickly tended to when I showed up. Onsen was very clean and refreshing and there was lots of maps and brochures in English. The bikes rental was definitely reasonable at 500 yen but are not made for climbing the mountains to the hells of Beppu if you are not up for it. Overall, a solid stay.
Spacious room. Public bath available. 1 private bath available for reservation. Easy walk to train station.
Nice place, room is small but nice and clean. Public bath is small too. There are public hot water/ coffee/ tea at 3rd floor. 10 minutes waking form Beppu train station and there is a big supermarket around the corner. Recommended.
The hotel far form beppu station about 10 minute walk. Japanease style room was nice. Private onsen was very perfect. Breakfast was very delicious.
Location was really nice to stay. All restaurant located very close to ryokan. Room is good for asian but may be a bit small for europe or american. The private Bathroom was also special for our couple just only 1080 Yen and you can book in advance :)
Lets start with the positive. The rooms, at least ours at the south side were big. A small balcony can be used, but you look in the rooms of the hospital. Further on you can use the spa for an hour for each night you stay there. Very hot, clean, but register yourself early for the spa, otherwise you get the unpopular hours. Towels are minimal and small. Negative is the noise. From outside where the red light district is, but also from inside. We had a family with crying children above us. Checkin out time is rather early, 10.00. Lets finish positive; on the third floor you can take as much thea, coffee and water for free. Good if the cannot sleep from the noise.
good location with free private onsen. 6 minutes from JR Beppu
The staff are nice and warm, the public facilities are clean, however, the room cleanliness is not desirable, but acceptable.
very nice not far fromm beppu station can walk for 10 minutes to ryokan the reception is very nice and we can reserve private onsen by pay 300 yen for city tax that's very impressive about the room it's quite big for japanese type shower room separates from toilet room. overall room is clean, big, nice breakfast (japanese type), acceptable price. i will turn back again !!
Amazing breakfast service. There were Yukata in the room. Location is excellent.
Privet Onsen,Staff can speak English. the hotel area in the night like Red light area but it not dangerous.
Stayed one night here in November. I said weird setup because the bedroom is very basic with only a bed (very soft one to my liking, very rare in Japan!), a couch and a TV. Inconvenient for those who need to use bathroom frequently. Outside my room is already common area with lots of magazines and comic books for reading, couches, water machine and the washing area. I tried their onsen which looks rather worn-out and old and seems in need of update/maintenance... However this place is just a 2 minute walk from a legendary public bath where you can enjoy both onsen and sand bath (1000 yen). Great to do it on the morning before the check out. I did not have breakfast so I cannot comment on it, but it seems good to add that because there are no restaurants serving breakfasts nearby.
