Location and breakfast were excellent. All staff very pleasant and made us feel welcome.

I am an average size woman in her sixties and I couldn't get in to the shower. The gap between the sliding doors was quite small. My husband was able to get in, but found it claustrophobic. Very small cubicle.

This was my 4th stay at Mayfield rooms clean staff very friendly

Myself And my daughter had a lovely time ,the staff are so friendly and the play area keeps the little ones well entertained, food was amazing and our room was perfect with all local necessities close by even a play park over the road . We will definitely be back again soon ❤️

I booked 4 rooms as was our Son wedding the day after in Scarborough. When we checked in the receptionist I said that I’d specifically booked two disabled rooms. The receptionist said well we do not have any disabled rooms. You should have contacted us directly. I showed her the email from booking.com confirming my request. She apologised and said well we don’t have any disabled rooms now. I then had to get my very disabled mum and Dad up and down the stairs. I’ve had two knee replacements. I would not recommend this for anyone with any issues in mobility. The rooms themselves were okay but needed some maintenance. The fans were in all rooms due to it being humid, but some worked some didn’t.

Very clean room & bathroom, Lovely clean, good quality bedding, comfortable bed & good quality towels. Evening meal in the restaurant was good value and tasty.

It was very stuffy and warm when we arrived in the room. There was a small fan on the dressing table which was on, however there was no remote or method of adjusting the speed and air flow. We had to open the windows to get some air in.

Room (5) was a little too warm, despite window being fully open. No one available on check-in desk - rang bell 3 times, and finally had to go into bar area to find staff

This was a great location as we were heading into Scarborough for a concert and the train station is really easily accessible. It was so roomy really clean and well equipped we'd stay there again in a heartbeat

Welcoming and helpful staff, excellent food, comfy room - extremely well run establishment.

Room too hot and lack of attention to smaller detail of cleaning , ie; base of chair and the shelf above the hanging/‘wardrobe’ area were both very dusty. En suite floor edges need attention as does rusty towel rail and no toilet roll holder.

Extremely clean and very comfortable. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Bedrooms were ready early.

The bedrooms are on the small side. Breakfast had to be paid for separately which added an extra £24 on to a one night stay.

Food was good quality, staff friendly, efficient and timely service.

We was in room 12 the front door was hard to open due to the spring. And the doors into the room was hard to open due to the spring. The sliding door to the bathroom was difficult to slide open but they are problems that can be overcome.

The TV kept buffering

The location was a bit quieter than staying in Scarborough itself. There was a big free car park for guests, and the train stops 10 mins away but there's a bus stop into town directly opposite that only takes about 10-15 mins. The room was excellent, really well designed to make the best use of space available. The bed was comfy. It was a hot day but the windows opened and the Dyson bladeless fan was brilliant. Staff were approachable, amenable, and accomplished. Breakfast was ample, and all good produce.

I'd have liked instructions for the fan.

Spacious room and bathroom, clean. Welcoming, friendly staff. Good choice of breakfast. Well situated and surprisingly large. The room was quiet even though it overlooked the Main Street.

The room was upstairs and was accessed by leaving the main building and walking around the side. The decor was a little tired and the carpet on the stairs was stained.

Excellent hotel, lovely modern room, could tell great thought had gone into the decorating. The fridge and the dressing mirror were just class unexpected but very much appreciated. The Dyson fan too very much needed snd appreciated. Breakfast was generous well cooked presented well. Small thing the coffee was a little weak for my taste. But would not deter from staying again . I highly recommend.

Fantastic hotel in a lovely location and just far enough from Scarborough, bed was comfy and overall it was clean. The rooms are very quite to say it above a pub I was surprised how quiet it was. The pub serves excellent food which is quality and not too overpriced the standard. Nice extra touches in the rooms such as a fridge and variety lighting options.

Pillow were too soft for me but that's personal opinion and not hotels fault, been a larger person the shower was tight but I managed but next time we would upgrade to the superior for my space. The room was very hot and out fan was broken and we asked for a replacement which was arranged by taking from another room so if the hotel was full we would have had another night of poor sleep. Could do with buying spare ones. Minor issue with housekeeping but raised with managed on departure so hopefully will take on board.

A comfortable clean room with a good English breakfast. We only stayed one night while visiting family.

The staff were very accommodating and polite, they honored me a late check in after traveling for a concert.

We were in an upper room whch was warm and the fan wasnt very good . However we opened a window .

Lovely hotel, fabulous rooms, comfy beds, and all mod cons, including the first time we've ever had a Dyson "fan". The rooms are very well laid out and make best use of the space available. Staff were excellent, really helpful and friendly. Food was well cooked, very tasty, and good Yorkshire portions. My Yorkie wrap was a delight and came choc full of well cooked beef. The pub has a great atmosphere, especially in the main bar (roadside area). There are also some family friendly spaces including a ball pool/play area for the children. Music was at a great level and very eclectic. The hotel has its own car park, but it's also on a direct bus route from York/Leeds, but also a medium walk from the local station. Being 10 mins out of Scarborough was perfect, and meant there was virtually no noise. Steamer is a lovely little place with nice grassed spaces and a small local supermarket.

Instructions for the fan would've been helpful fabulous, I somehow got it to go cooler but it was guesswork.

The setting was lovely, the breakfast was very nice and plenty. Sausages and bacon were of extremely good quality. Delicious. Staff were very polite and smiling and happy and very helpful. Bed was massive, took 2 full turns to reach the hubby lol. We stayed in room 7. The decor was nice and modern when entering the rooms. Bathroom was lovely and very clean.

The room was nice as you walk in, as the curtains were closed. But taking a closer look and opening the curtains, just a few things need attention. All the doors are filthy and could do with a clean and wipe down every time there's a room change. The wardrobe doors had fingerprints all over them. Just paying attention to these things would mean a better rating. Also, no air con, as we're in uk, but they provided a Dyson fan, but the filter was very dusty, so didn't feel the benefit of it, as was probably too clogged.

staff very rude. receptionist sniggering smirking. not helpful at all. when you leave something in the room to be told it isn't there. when we know for a fact it is. don't expect house keeping to steal something thag isn't there's. room 15 leave a charger and it's in lost property. we leave a charger and it's been stolen. wouldn't stay there again

Looked nice from the outside with good parking. Room looked nice. Good bed and tea etc refreshments in room.

Shower dirty, bathroom floor and skirtings had enough dust to form fluffy layer when I wiped it. Requested cleaning and also room to be made up. Apparently beds don’t get made up. Minimal cleaning done. Carpet not hoovered for days with bits of litter on stairs. bit awkward when trying see to apply make up, had to move a very big mirror to sit at dresser, lighting poor, window didn’t open as locked shut and may have been alarmed. The stars must be for what the rooms contain as level of care from cleaning staff questionable. On arrival was ‘greeted’ in bar with ‘are you walk ins as we have no tables’. Hello works better. Breakfast ok if you like or can eat eggs or full English. States continental but three choices of cereals, apple pear or orange and yogurt. No breads, pastries, meats/cheeses like most hotel continentals. Overheard that it was a pain for someone to go for alternative milk for special diet but they did produce this in the end. Manager returned costs without hesitation and probably expects poor review as he was shown photos of the issues but repaid us very promptly and fairly.

A nice room to stop off in Seamer, well equipped and clean. Nice to have a chiller in the room too for soft drinks and wine. Didn't eat in the pub but the drinks seem reasonably priced.

Wedding on that night and the room is above the function room so very loud until midnight. It didnt bother us but might other people with young kids. Pillows were a little soft for liking.

The business seemed to concentrate on the bar/restaurant business and not as much focus on the hotel side. On the Saturday morning our Room was not serviced/cleaned and therefore towels and bins etc not changed and emptied.

The beds stuck out a little and I kept walking into them. Also gap under the door made the room a little loud, also on the main Rd so traffic noise.

The bedroom was extremely hot as it is in the sun most of the day,even with a window open.Sirconditioning would be perfect.

Lovely clean room, nicely decorated and felt relaxing. Large comfortable bed. Fridge in room. Has places to eat and drink and a shop all just a few steps away. Ideally placed for a visit to Scarborough and Filey. Had a meal in the pub which was very nice. Overall, was very happy with our stay and would stay again if in the area. Happy to recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Shower a bit small but plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Only had one small shampoo and shower gel for 3 nights, could probably have asked for more but just used our own. Could have done with a bit more light over the mirror for putting on makeup.

We stayed here for the Teddy Swims concert and had a brilliant experience. The hotel was lovely, very clean and comfortable, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. It was the perfect place for an overnight stay and we would definitely stay again.

I liked the convenient location for the places I wanted to visit. The room was very comfortable and clean. I didnt have the breakfast this time but there was the facility in the room to make tea.

Always love the Mayfield and FIVE Star Stays. From the wonderful staff, the comfy beds and beautiful thick large towels. Never anything to complain about.
