Lovely old house, nice helpful staff who even packed some breakfast for us when we left. Nice and quiet and decent breakfast.

Ver steep wooden stairs to go up to the first floor, a little dangerous to come back down without shoes. (You have to leave your shoes downstairs). Very stuffy and hot communal area upstairs. I would still book again, not big problems!

Beautiful colonial property in the centre of Fort Kochi. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. All the main sites and the beach are within easy walking distance or short TukTuk ride. Asha and the Chiramel team are very happy to help with suggestions of places to visit, providing a map on arrival.

The breakfast was a little cold.

Clean, friendly and perfect location to enjoy Fort Cochi. Beautiful old house converted into a comfortable homestay with high ceilings, air conditioning, and a delicious Karala breakfast. We would recommend and if we are ever back in town we would come back to stay again.

Einfach alles. Wir sind ungeplant sehr früh angereist und haben sofort ein Zimmer erhalten. Das kleine Hotel hat einen wunderschönen Stil. Das Zimmer war gross und wunderschön ausgestattet mit einem niedlichen Loggia. Ventilator und Klimaanlage waren vorhanden. Der Vorraum ist auch total schön,mit klassischen Sofas und Schränke. Das ganze Personal war auch super hilfsbereit und extrem nett. Wir würden sofort wieder hin.

Frühstück ganz basic mit Toast, da gibt es in der Umgebung leckere Optionen. Das Bad hat keine Lüftung, daher wird es sofort muffig.

Sijainti oli täydellinen ja henkilökunta todella ystävällistä. Huoneet ja sängyt olivat erittäin hyvät. Kauniit huonekalut. Majapaikassa oli hyvä energia!

Charming homestay in Fort Kochi. Well located within walking distance to major attractions. Heritage rooms are spacious with separate lounge and bedroom and large bathroom. Tasty breakfast in common area. Excellent service. Our hosts Amy and Asha were great.

A wonderful old colonial property well located in Fort Kochi. The breakfast was fantastic and served in a beautifully ornate lounge/dining room. Rooms were comfortable and fully fit for purpose if a little dated. Staff incredibly helpful and couldn’t do too much to help arrange transport of provide advice……I would definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful guesthouse in the perfect location in Fort Cochin. The hosts are very nice and our room was large and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the Kerala breakfast every morning.

It was very quiet with beautiful wood floors. They made you feel very welcome and helped us plan our visit.

Chiramel residency was fantastic from beginning till end. They helped us planning our travel and making reservation with so much kindness. The place is just so beautiful and peaceful. Like a travel in time. We can only highly recommend !

This beautiful period property had a great location just a short walk to many of the tourist attractions of Fort Cochin. The room we had was spacious and quiet, overlooking the open courtyard area, with easy access to one of the common room areas. Breakfast was tasty, European and Keralan options, and plenty to start a busy day sightseeing. The owner was was extremely friendly and helpful, including booking our Kathakali tickets for us, and arranging a taxi transfer out to airport. Easy to leave our luggage for the day when we checked out too before our flight. Even if you don't stay in the historic part of the building, definitely take the time to go and explore it, as has a fascinating history.

A wonderful experience at a Heritage Home Stay at Fort Kochi.. One of the oldest homestay's in the area and has a heritage section and a modern section. The accessibility to all areas of Fort area is wonderful and you can literally walk everywhere. The hosts are wonderful people and explain to the guests the history of the town. You can also get confirmed tickets of the Kathakali Centre and witness beautiful performances. The food is simple but very well prep and as a homestay should be. The staff we lovely. The rooms were spacious and clean. The fans and AC all worked well. The building itself is beautiful and well kept. We had a perfect stay.

We stayed two nights at Chiramel Residency which explains our middle ground ratings. The second night /room deserve top ratings. We had reserved two nights in deluxe double room. The second night upstairs in the heritage part was beautiful and very stylish. The first night, we were downstairs in a non-classy room (compared to upstairs) next to the street (we had the feeling, we were sleeping in the street). The breakfast in the heritage salon was great. We liked our smiling door man who welcomed us - mornings and evenings Thank you for the post-discount for the first night.

Wonderful old heritage home, professional and friendly staff/owners. We were made very welcome. We raised an issue with an electrical outlet and a maintenance man was called over within 15 minutes. I would certainly stay here again and recommend Chiramel Residency to my friends.

the downstairs rooms are dark and a little noisy. I would opt for an upper room next time.

Ett charmigt homestay med bra läge i Fort Kochi. Det är nära både till strandpromenaden och till shopping-gatan. Rummen är förhållandevis enkelt inredda, men de är tysta, rymliga och rena. Familjen som äger och driver hotellet är mycket trevliga och hjälpsamma. Frukosten är god. Vi valde indisk frukost och den var mycket bra.

A very warm welcome, and able to check in ahead of time which was a real bonus! We booked Kathakali through them which was a great evening! Early checkout and taxi booking was also very helpful! The place itself is very central in Fort Kochi and kept very calm and tidy.

The air conditioning is perhaps a bit old and noisy, but the owner was looking into the noise during our stay.

We stayed for transit and it was a great stay. The owner and staff showed great hospitality. We travelled with two infants and another kid, and were impressed by the professionalism. .

The house is beautiful and very well located in the heart of Fort Kochi. (as of October 2024 the pictures are outdated, the walls are now all white, which make the magnificent teak elements stand out better). Rooms are large, comfortable and well furnished with all the modern convinience with the charm of old rich houses. The staff is very helpful and available. Amazing breakfast, the kerala option is simple and tasty homefood, and it was different for the 3 mornings we had breakfast there.

Everything. The room was outstanding. The staff were incredibly helpful and supportive. There were a range of breakfast available and nothing was too much trouble. They organised excursions and travel for us and made our stay even more enjoyable.Would stay there again anytime.

Great location and the common areas are great to relax and meet other people. The staff were lovely super attentive and helpful with all the requests.

The room had a lot smell to humidity which made difficult to sleep. Also the bathroom was very small and as the shower was in the middle, it was wet all the time. Breakfast was simple, no fruit

Hostess is very gracious and helpful. Structure of this heritage building is well preserved and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast during our stay. We really liked the surrounding as it was peaceful and quite. One can enjoy walk to the nearby places. Location is really good as there are multiple restaurants nearby and all the attractions are nearby walking distance.

Only one suggestion would be to replace the existing pillows in our room as they seemed to be old and had a bad smell.

Location was spot on and within walking distance of the centre. The residency itself was a pleasant colonial style, clean rooms, and very comfortable bed.

The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and discreet. The location is central but quiet. The building is beautiful with many original details. You can choose between a western or Indian breakfast. As a family, we had a lovely three-day stay at Chiramel Residency.

The home is fascinating! We were given the option of a traditional bedroom in the old part of the house or a room in the more modern addition. The traditional rooms are beautiful, with old wooden floors polished to a high gloss, detailed wooden ceilings, and four-poster beds. The modern rooms are smaller but bright and airy. Service was friendly and prompt. Asha is a very gracious host!

The property is so charming - it’s a gorgeous Dutch building with split stable doors and lots of polished wood everywhere and is beautifully maintained with personal touches such as family photos.

We opted for the traditional Kerala breakfast, which was both copious and delicious.

We would have preferred rooms at the front, in the older more traditional section of the house, but these were unfortunately already booked. There are rather steep steps up to the first and second floors, something to be borne in mind by people with mobility problems. For us it was no problem and we enjoyed the exercise!,

We were very lucky to have found this place last minute, we have booked the "the luxe" room which was very nice and big. the common areas brings you back to the middle of last century, a real treat ! The hostess & staff are very friendly & helpful.

The airco works very well, but is a bit noisy at night even on the lowest ventilation. everywhere there are musquitos nets on the windows, and still they're able to slip inside.. the host provides repellent but its not very effective.

A very charming, family-run homestay in the heart of Fort Kochi. The rooms in this lovely heritage building were spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Asha and her team of friendly staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. We loved our stay here and would love to return again. Highly recommended.

Great location for the historic parts of Cochin. We extended our stay to see more and returned at the end our tour on our way back to the airport, 7 nights in all. Great breakfast selection and lots of it. Wonderful hosts offering local information and bookings for taxi, tuktuk and shows.

Great location close to delicious restaurants and the beach. The owners were also lovely and helped us organise various activities whilst we were in Fort Kochi.

It's such a beautiful and cosy home to spend a weekend. Best thing is the neighborhood and location from sea and all cafes. The staff are so helpful and polite. It was a very happy stay as we spent just one night

If you are traveling with senior citizens then can be a problem as rooms and dining space is not on ground floor but on 1st and second floor. And also if you need water or any help it's becomes a task to come down and ask for it as no intercom facility is available. The place does not serve food other than bfast.

Breakfast was a south Indian breakfast that started my day off perfectly. Abu was always a gracious host. Amina and Asha are a dynamic duo, making you feel welcome at every turn. The deluxe room was spacious and clean. Great location- close to sites, great restaurants, and activities. Highly recommend.
