Very friendly staff

Beautiful, convenient, comfortable.

Wish they had a real coffee machine, and not just instant coffee.

Die Lage direkt am Fluss ist super. Man hat einen tollen Blick auf die andere Seite. Alle sind sehr freundlich und bemüht.

First impression are great with a well presented, well decorated and maintained, spotlessly clean room with a nice terrace overlooking the river. Warm and friendly staff, excellent housekeeping. BUT….

Two essentials for me are a quiet room for a good night’s sleep and a good shower. Sadly the noise from the nightly live music at the outdoor restaurant/bar is so loud that you cannot sleep and it goes on til after 11pm. The shower has hardly any water pressure and both the water flow and temperature fluctuate continually - really poor. Also a little too far out from the centre if you prefer to walk (30 mins)

Nice feel, interesting design

I had a plane to catch on 1st of January at 6:30. I asked the staff 2 days in advance to help me with a taxi at 3:30AM. I was lead to believe it was arranged however in the morning they told me to use Grab. It is 3:30 on the 1st of January, there are no Bolts or Grabs, this is why I asked you to arrange a taxi, I know how to use the apps and I know drivers are rare and expensive on new year night. EI ended up paying twice the amount and almost lost the plane after waiting 45 minutes in front of the hotel for someone to pick me up. If you are useless and can't help with a taxi at least say you are. I could have arranged it myself if they said they don't know taxi numbers in the city they live in. Being misled is the worst. Everything else was ok, I would have rated 9 but the night staff makes it a 4.

Cozy hotel in good location with a beautiful patio facing the river. There is a motorbike/car rental right across the street which we took advantage of. And a great upscale market just a few steps from the hotel. Very nice owner, doesn’t speak much English but all can be worked out with a translation app.

Breakfast very basic.

Staff and Safety

Clean , polite staff, good location

Lovely hotel! Easy walk into the old city. Quiet clean room right on the river. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very nice place, we loved everything about it. The staff very nice. It’s a small quaint hotel. They is a nice little garden out back, on the Ping river peaceful sitting area. The price very reasonable. I hope to return sometime soon.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Chiang Mai Clean comfortable and very friendly staff I won’t stay anywhere when I come to Chiang Mai

It’s location

TV not working. Clogged bathroom. The grumpy middle aged lady at the front desk.

Nice place, close to the bridge to HRC, night market, McDonalds, the Red Lion Pub and lots of street food stalls.

It was very nice and cozy place near to everthing you will needed. I was in third floor and had very nice view .just the hotel dosen't have elevator which is could be a bit hard for the older people other than this perfect place to stay.

Stayed two nights; then extended stay. Eceptionally clean, super friendly staff and a gourmet supermarket called Rimping right across the street and it’s incredible. Rooms are immaculate, place is like an oasis. Grounds around hotel are well maintained.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It has a terrace next to the river with places to sit and relax. The whole place was very clean and free of clutter. Our room was a good size, at the river side of the hotel. The restaurant across the river likes to entertain the whole neighbourhood with its live music, but it didn’t bother us as we were out or not ready for sleep until it stopped anyway. If you’re early to bed, use your earplugs (necessary in Asia!). There’s an excellent supermarket in the building across the road by the way.

Easily the best place I’ve stayed in 20 years of coming to CM. Great location right on the river. Great dining options, entertainment and easy walk to Night Market. Definitely staying here again.

Location

A bit too noisy from traffic along main street in the morning.

The rooms are spacious and very clean, the staff friendly, and excellent location walking distance to restaurants and markets.

Loved the design of the building and the location was ideal, away from the bustle of the old town but near enough to walk. The riverside looks very beautiful.

There was a slight odour in the room, possibly caused by condensation.

A lovely stay along the river, just outside the Old City. The hotel was comfortable and clean and service was excellent. If you stay here, make sure to watch the sunset on the back patio space by the river. The floral arrangements and nice decor make for a lovely experience.

Nice host great location

This is a beautiful hotel sitting right on the river, close to eveytou need and nightlife. Rooms are neat and clean but the best part is the staff ! They have helped me find my phone about 4 times already after to many drinks ! They are super friendly and I have actually decided to stay an extra 5 days instead of swap hotel as I like it here that much ! Great place and great value !

The place is so nice. Small place to go in and out and located by the river which is excellent. Staff are great. Love everything about it.

Beautiful restored historic building. Our room #3, was lovely. Great ambiance, quiet, air conditioning, plenty of hot water. The location is close to the key attractions in George Town. Jane, the manager was welcoming accommodating, and friendly. She connected us with Lau who was our personal guide for the day. He was wonderful, book him! We designed our own day and got off the tourist path to the best local food. If the hotel is full and you can’t get a room call him on WhatsApp +60 19-410 9467. I’m not easy to please and I was very happy with this stay. We will definitely book here again next time in Penang.

One good restaurant within walking distance (outdoor sitting only)

I have stayed here over many years and the Baan Ing Ping never disappoints. The location is perfect it is central and yet quiet.

Nothing

I enjoyed my stay. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The garden is lovely, and being on the river felt like a true taste of Thailand. There are night markets with a wide selection of goods and delicious street foods within easy walking distance. There's a very nice, reasonably priced Thai restaurant less than a block away and a terrific supermarket just down the street with every food item you might desire. The staff was very sweet and accommodating. They happily allowed me not only to check in early, but to check out late when I was changing hotels. That was very kind of them.

The hotel was very cute, with the river view and nice decoration in the room. The bathroom was practical, the beds were comfortable and everything was super clean.

Clean, close to the center and night market, very friendly stuff😀

We loved our stay here. Beautiful garden area, right on the Ping River and a fantastic restaurant next door. The staff at this hotel were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Lots of ground transportation close by, a grocery store and a nice little Cafe directly across the street. It was perfect.

Very clean and very helpful staff.

Very nice, clean and great value. Our room faced the street, but we could hardly hear any noise. Complimentary toast and coffee served in the morning in a cute yard facing the river. Corner shop, restaurants, atm, beauty parlour all nearby. Staff responsive. Highly recommend

Location was good, just across the bridge with night market, massage and food within walking distance. 7-11 is only opposite the hotel. Complimentary bread & instant coffee tea provided. Do note the rooms facing road is noisy, we paid for an upgrade to room facing river which is quieter. Overall it’s ok considering the price you are paying

The room was very nice. The garden is very beautiful. Itt was conveniently close to the train station 😁

Beautiful riverside location. Directly opposite S&P Bakery and Rimping Supermarket too.

The aircon remote control was hard to read as the LCD was spoilt.

Located on the banks of the Ping river. Lovely and quiet.

You can hear the cafe down the road playing loud music until about midnight. Plus the roar of traffic. So you might want to bring ear plugs or upgrade to the riverside room for 500 baht more. Otherwise the Rimping supermarket is great, just across the street. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast of instant Nescafe Red coffee and bread with butter and jam or tea cookies is not very exciting. But they do sell Chang, which makes any breakfast tolerable. There is a 7-11 & street food nearby, and a laundry service. No elevator, all walkup, not handicap accessible except maybe the 1st floor.

Staffs are nice and the atmosphere is really good!!!

Its location is excellent - close to the night market but in a quiet location by the river. Staff are courteous and attentive but not intrusive. There are also restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance.

I missed being able to make a cup of coffee anytime that I liked. But coffee (including a coffee machine) is available in the mornings during breakfast time.

Very clean property. Lovely patio on the river. Friendly and helpful staff.

The coziness of the place, like home. The room has a spa-like vibe which makes you relax. The outdoor space is great as well with a nice view of the bridge and river.

I wish there was a table lamp

Great location close to everything, and SUPER friendly staff. Bed was like a rock, and they're right on a busy street and next to some clubs so get ready to hear car engines and loud music all night

Bed was too hard and SUPER noisy from street and clubs near by

The lady at the reception was so nice! She did a good job at booking a taxi for us to go to the airport :)

We had an excellent vacation in this magnificent hotel, everything was excellent, the location is very good it is a walking distance to main places in chiang mai like night market, Tha Phae Gate.... The hotel is clean and at the riverside. All what we needed was provided. Thanks and I will be coming back.

Nice location by the Ping River...with the Rimping Supermarket just opposite the hotel. Room was on the 1st floor facing the main road...and it wasn't noisy for us. Staff was accommodating and helpful.

The hotel was very nice overall. good location and good view. Theres plenty of areas to sit and enjoy coffee, read or eat your lunch. The owner seemed nice and got us plates and sliverware.

It was difficult for me to maneuver around the room because there was no floor next to the bed. I think they should only but a full sized bed in a room that small. im an older man and it felt like i was staying at a hostel, albeit with a bathroom. The coffee is downstairs and not in the room but this isnt a big deal. The maid never came evem though we requested her on the 3rd day so over the days the room and towels just got dirtier. That made us feel like they just didnt really care.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, backyard setting/Ping River view peaceful and Thai/Western breakfast very reasonably priced. The standout at Baan Ing Ping is the staff, particularly the wonderful owner who worked tirelessly to try and connect with Expedia when they weren’t honoring a refund I was owed for a room we had to cancel several days before check-in. They went above and beyond on this and everything else - we felt truly cared for.

A great hotel clean rooms nice and close to the town bars shops and restaurants all near by . The staff were friendly helpful and generally nice people. Rooms were comfly and clean . Would recommend this place .

I wanted to stay in an other area of town. I had stayed a few nights on the old city area but I had heard good things about the riverside area. I was not disappointed. The hotel backed on to the river which was very nice to watch in the morning while eating breakfast. Also, there were many nice restaurants and bars in the area. The staff especially was great and very accommodating. I like that they brought my luggage up the stairs for me. Also, the manager was friendly and spoke English very well making it easy to ask detailed questions about Chiang Mai.

Very friendly staff, helped us a lot even after we left the hotel.

Baan Ing Ping is one of my all time favorite little hotels in the world!! It’s very simple, but it is adorable and cared for lovingly by the great staff. Pat was so helpful, every day, in so many ways!!! The location is perfect because you are right on the River Ping, a very short walk across a sweet little bridge and then 2 blocks to the center of the night market, etc. This hotel is sooo clean. You could eat off the outside steps!! The garden is tended every day and you can get a very inexpensive breakfast or walk across the street to an excellent supermarket/ coffee bar/ juice bar. I say again that the rooms and beds are very basic, but I loved it and would definitely stay in the future!!!

This hotel is amazing, the location, excellent service, cozy ambient and so clean and comfortable.

Great location at the river bank with a good Thai restaurant next door. Walking distance to the night market.

Absolutely fantastic. The owner is so knowledgeable about the whole area and beyond. She cannot do enough for you. Her recommendations for eating out and things to do were spot on. It’s in a great situation overlooking the river and only a 5 minute walk to all the action.

Family own hotel and the staff treat you like family. They will help you with anything without any hesitation. If I or anyone I know go to Chiangmai this is the place to stay.

The hotel is located right on the ping river and has is ina great location in proximity to various convenience stores and restaurants. Owners were extremely helpful and helped us get a taxi to the airport. Would highly recommend!
