Kagoshima Sun Royal Hotel

The professionalism of staff team at the Sun Royal Hotel Kagoshima is high standard. They also offer their existance around the lobby area like a wind that make guests stay comfortable being around. The Shuttle Service between the hotel and Kagoshima Central Station, Tenmonkan Shopping Archaide District, allows guests to have access to sightseeing, restaurants, and historical places in Kagoshima city. Besides that, there is 24 hours World-wide Anytime Fitness just across the street in the same area of the Family Mart and Uniqlo which also a positive point. Also, the hotel is located in the area where there is a beach walk across the ocean. The best Mt. Sakurajima view from hot spring. The breakfast has variety of food, good value for money. I specifically enjoyed fresh fruits.

It seems there is expected relocation of this hotel in the future, however, I am confident that the staff would offer excellent services wherever this historical hotels go.

部屋と大浴場から桜島を目の前に望み、最高のロケーションでした！ 大雨の天候で残念な部分はありましたが、それでも迫力ある桜島を十分感じることが出来ました。 スタッフのホスピタリティも良く、おもてなしの精神が伝わってくるものでした。 朝食も美味しかったです。

どうしても建物や設備の古さは否めない感じがしました。 これから上手くリノベーションして欲しいです。

展望温泉は空いていてほぼ貸切だった。夜は何も見えないが、朝は桜島が見えた。

シャトルバスの時間が限られているので、タクシーを使った。3人で泊まったので少し窮屈に感じた。

悪いわけではないですが、展望浴場が思ったより狭かったです。宿泊日は満室だったらしくお風呂が混んでいて余計に狭く感じました。

スタッフのみなさんのホスピタリティーがすばらしいです。中央駅や天文館からは少し離れていますが、市営バスが30分ごとに走っており、不便は感じません。

温泉は良かった。朝食も美味しかった。朝食スタッフの方は年配の方が多くて頑張っていらして良かった。

ベッドメイクはだいぶ適当で、見た目悪かった。入室時の印象が悪くなるので改善が必要。冷蔵庫も電源が入っていないので、冷える迄に時間がかかるので、予約が入っている部屋は電源を入れておいて欲しい。

逛街方便，附近機能不錯。 在房間就能看見櫻島，泡溫泉時也能看著櫻島好好放鬆。

部屋の窓から迫力の桜島！　これでこのお値段はリーズナブルだと思います。温泉も使い勝手がよく、気持ちよく過ごせました。駅からやや離れていますが、バスの便がよく、さほど不自由ではありませんでした。

大浴場の足拭きタオルが2日目びしょ濡れで気持ち悪かった。清掃の方がいましたが交換せずタオルの回収のみでした。その方は二度とも来ていましたが私が上がるまで交換されませんでした。それが残念でした

あの値段で温泉に入れて、クーラーもよく聞いてて食事も美味しかった。

申し込む時、シービューと書いてあったので桜島と海側を期待したけど、海側ではなかった。

Sehr schönes gediegenes Hotel mit einem perfekten Blick auf den Sakurajima! Frühstück und Abendessen ist ein ein umfangreiches Buffet, wo denke ich für jeden etwas dabei sein sollte! Auch das Panoramabad ist sehr schön mit Aussicht auf den Vulkan. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das freundliche und zuvorkommende Personal, das sich jederzeit für jedes Anliegen kümmert. Auch die Bar mit einem sehr netten Barkeeper und Restaurantchef verdient eine Erwähnung. Wir fanden den Aufenthalt sehr erholsam und wundervoll. Danke für die schöne Zeit!

Chambre vieillotte, pas très grande. Balcon inaccessible, dommage. Salle de bains peu pratique et très datée, un gros rafraîchissement s’impose.

The view was amazing, and the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options, but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the food much. Some of the fruits smelled like raw fish, which made us think they may have been cut with the same knife or prepared in the same area. We mainly came here to see the mountain, and for that purpose, it met our needs. Honestly, I’m not sure what to say about this hotel. It truly needs a major renovation. I’m sure it was one of the finest hotels of its time, but now it feels like it’s reached the point of becoming more of a historical landmark. Despite that, it’s still trying to keep going. The building and furniture definitely need to be updated. Also, they do not allow guests with tattoos to use the pool. Apparently, they still think even a non japanese woman with tattoos might be associated with the yakuza. 😅

鹿児島市内に近い。 ホテルのおもてなしがとても感じられました。 食事は、魚介類が新鮮で、地元の食材が多く考えられていました。おしゃれなお酒のつまみ感溢れる素晴らしいものでした。

私達が利用した日は、天気が悪くて、せっかくお風呂も部屋からも桜島が見えるはずだったのに、残念な結果になりました。でも、それ以上に、ホテルのおもてなしが感じられる、素晴らしいホテルでした。大体のホテルは、良くても、もう、おしまいが多いけれど、桜島が見えなかったことにより、どーしてももう一回桜島がこの場所で見たい❣️と、思いました。

The hotel has a unique feeling to it. Like stepping back in time. The facilities are great; shuttle bus to the station and tenmonkan, an onsen and a buffet breakfast with plenty of variety. The view of Sakurajima from the upper floor was also exceptional.

The room was a little dated but that could be a plus There was a little wait for breakfast but this was communicated to me the day before

Goed ontbijt. Goeie koffie. Overal in Japan trouwens freshly brewed koffie. Top! Ja het uitzicht op Sakurajima ! En die was uitgebarsten. Het leuke eiland Sakurajima. Nog wel een aardig eindje naar de stad en Ferry maar de bus practisch voor de deur, goed te doen. Suica card niet geldig hier, wel bankpas. Goed Frans restaurant met erg leuk personeel. Een heuse bar maar niemand erin te zien.

We booked a Sakurajima view room. The room we got indeed had a view on the volcano — which served as a backdrop to a vast vista of pachinko parlors and strip malls, garishly illuminated and quite ugly. Also, the smoke from the indoor smoking area permeated the entire first floor.

なんといっても、部屋から桜島が見える景色は、よかったです。 朝日が上がってきたのは感動的でした。 スタッフさんの気配りも良かった。

お風呂の温度が高い。 子供が入れなかった。 浴槽が一つしかないので、逃げ道がなかった。 あと大きな宿泊施設なので仕方がないのですが、 朝食後ものすごく混んでいた。 初見では、その後の予定が厳しいかも

水回りなど設備については築年数が経っているので古さはやむを得ないです。 一階レストラン、朝食時のオペレーションが悪すぎます。 ホテルで味わえる食事の雰囲気でない。

The hotel's facilities are dated (in a traditional way) but our stay was very comfortable, the room was clean, and we didn't lack anything there. The view from the hotel room was spectacular and made up for the remote location. A shuttle bus to the train station and to Tenmonkan was also provided, which was convenient. We could definitely recommend the Sun Royal Hotel.

We did not use the onsen due to the firm tattoo restriction but we were aware before, so it was not an issue.

The views of Sakurajima from the 13th floor Onsen and from the bedrooms are exceptional. Rooms were clean and spacious. Beds and pillows comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful - outstanding customer service. There are nice waterfront walking paths that would be great to jog around in the early morning before it gets too hot.

It is really far from the airport, which we didn’t expect as we were originally arriving by ferry when we booked the hotel. It’s a 55 minute taxi or 1 hour 15 on the bus (two separate busses). It’s also pretty far from any major attractions. Sengan-en is 55 minutes by bus but only 15 minutes to drive. We took a taxi to Shiroyama Park (15 minutes, Y20,000) and also to Amu plaza for the Ferris wheel (about the same). Easy enough to get around but just be mindful you will need to travel at least 15 minutes and pay for the taxi or a bus.

l'hotel est bien entretenu. Le personnel est gentil serviable la chambre est bien agencé à 06h aller à l'onsen et voir le volcan c'est d'un calme reposant et d'une force franchement rien que pour ça il faut y passer une nuit.

que la machine du lavomatic ne prenne que des pièces de 100 yens.

Location is decent, but it still takes a long time to get to the main attractions, staff are friendly.

Bathrooms are honestly horrible for a four-star hotel; the rooms look ancient, the view in the photos is cropped (the true view includes pachinko parlours that have club lights), the smell in the hotel is horrible, and the shuttle bus is, at most times, inconvenient to wait for. One of the lights in our room didn't work, and the bathroom did not have any ventilation whatsoever. Overall, for the price tag we expected much better.
