Sarasvati Borobudur

This is a lovely, colonial style hotel, close to Borobodur temple and local restaurants. We stayed in a suite which was spacious and comfortable. The pool was welcome after going out and about for the day.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is lovely, a heritage place which we like. Filled with interesting art pieces and comfort. An excellent location for Borobodur Temple and a nice pool to relax by. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Would recommend especially given the modest price.

Some ambient music in the foyer & restaurant area would lift the mood.

Hotel antiguo precioso con habitaciones muy bonitas. La ubicación genial y estaba todo muy limpio. La piscina ayuda a descansar del calor en verano.

Se echa de menos servicios, un pequeño bar en la piscina, un pequeño restaurante para comer o cenar. El desayuno con poca variedad.

Locatie is super als je de Borobudur en de bergen in wil. In de buurt zijn drie restaurants waar je redelijk kunt eten en om een biertje te pakken. Het hotel heeft een prachtige koloniale uitstraling met boeddhistische elementen. Heel sfeervol. Het zwembad is groot en het water heeft een goede temperatuur.

Het ontbijt is erg matig. Nasi en vlees is koud. Koffie is slap. Je zit in de hal van het hotel wat erg ongezellig is door de omvang van de ruimte met hoge plafonds. Dit is de reden dat we daar niet gedineerd hebben. De kaart beloofde ook niet veel goeds. Als er geen gasten zijn, dan heeft het hotel een doodse sfeer. De oude houten ledikanten kraken alle kanten op. Niet fijn als je met z’n tweeën er in ligt. Matras is keihard. Onze airco had kuren. Wat ik mis is aandacht voor de klanten. Geen bar in het hotel waar je een drankje kunt bestellen terwijl er genoeg buitenlandse gasten komen in het hoogseizoen. Nergens kun je direct zitten om een spelletje te spelen omdat de tafels de hele dag gedekt staan om te kunnen eten. Rondom het zwembad veel te weinig ligbedden. Kortom, dit hotel heeft zoveel mogelijkheden waar geen gebruik van wordt gemaakt, waardoor het cijfer net voldoende is. Jammer.

Het enige personeelslid dat we gezien hebben was vriendelijk. Voor een bezoek aan de Borobudur ligt dit op loopafstand.

Na 15 jaar hier weer geweest dat merk erg verouderde staat veel slijtage ook op meubels op de kamer. Ontbijt alleen op bestelling. Hotel is zeker aan een update toe.

We are very satisfied with our stay. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean and the location was great as well. A special thanks to Bambang, who was very kind. We had some lovely conversations together because I speak a little bit of the Javanese language. That made our stay even more special. Definitely worth coming back to!

The staff were courteous & helpful despite language barrier. The beds were comfortable. When we raised the issue of the aircon not seeming to work satisfactorly we were offer another room.

The room lacked space for more than one suitcase & could have done with an additional bedside locker.

We had a wonderful stay at Sarasvati Borobudur. The staff and especially the soft spoken Mr. Bambang, were friendly and always eager to help us for all our needs. The hotel itself is a lovely complex with its large colonial style architecture, a spacious lobby and comfortable rooms. It is very conveniently located too. Very close to the Borobudur temple and other local restaurants too. Though the food at Sarasvati borobudur is delicious and does not want to make you go anywhere else. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely come back another time.

The old buildings are beautiful they are just in need of some upkeep. It’s getting a little shabby around the edges but the bones are fabulous.

Wonderful quiet hotel located locally near the temples entrance. The staff was lovely and helpful in every way. Breakfast and dinner here was delicious and it is located in a local street with other options.

Le charme désuet et colonial de l’établissement , qui par bonheur n’a pas la Clim dans tous les espaces communs . Une jolie piscine et un jardin soigné vous accueillent pas très loin du fabuleux site de Borobudur.

Le petit déjeuner pourrait être plus varié même s’il y a l’essentiel .

Very nice hotel, colonial luxury feel. Especially the shared places are very nice. Food was good.

Reception upon arrival was not very helpful. In general while we did not have any issues, staff seemed missing to support.

The concierge was helpful and pleasant. Rooms were simple but clean and comfortable

This was the worst hotel we stayed in on our trip to Indonesia. The staff were not welcoming, no restaurant or bar in hotel. Breakfast was minimal, extremely basic and almost inedible. No atmosphere. The area around the hotel was not great, you need to get a taxi to somewhere decent to eat. Not within walking distance of Borobudur entrance. Our request to checkout an hour later was denied even though we were probably the only people staying in hotel. Give it a miss, I would not recommend at all. That said the swimming pool was nice.

Quiet place for relaxing

This is a very comfortable mid-range hotel in walking distance to the temple (about 750m to main gate). The hotel is quite lovely in the old style. Walkways have beautiful tiled floors & table lamps outside the rooms. The pool area is lush & pool water quality excellent. Staff are friendly and responsive. Our ‘junior suite’ was enormous: entry, lounge with desk & fridge, large bedroom with tv & chest of drawers, dressing area with wardrobe, main bathroom with shower & toilet plus a second toilet room near the entry! Bed was firm but comfortable. A/C was good. Breakfast (in a lovely spacious dining room) was a-la-carte with choice of western or Indonesian breakfast. Personally, I enjoyed the Indonesian options & it was actually nice to not be overwhelmed by buffet choices. I tried both the nasi goreng with egg & chicken & the chicken soup (soto ayam) & both were delicious. With coffee and fresh fruit, it was a substantial breakfast. My husband went with the western options (toast, eggs, fruit) and was also happy.

宮殿のようなとても素晴らしいホテルでした。アルコールは飲めませんがお料理は申し分ありません。シャワーの排水が悪く、すぐに対応してくれました。流れが遅いのは建物が古いので致し方ありません。とてもリラックスした時間を過ごせました。

It’s a little bit of an older hotel so think old world charm. But the staff were very friendly and the rooms were large and air conditioned, so all up a good mid-range hotel experience

Top quality hotel close to Borobudur. Great rooms, nice restaurant, & a gorgeous pool, all a 5 minute walk from the entrance to one of the world's most incredible sites.

Great service, beautiful pool

The hotel is brilliantly located ten minutes walk from Borabadur temple grounds and in the middle of the town - easy walk to plenty of food options, local market and just a stroll around the back streets. The staff are fantastic and helpful (we had a 4:30am departure and they packed us a great breakfast). It’s a 3 star hotel and exactly what you’d expect. People note the Mosque nearby and the early morning call to prayer but if you want to stay in the town that is inevitable. Only criticism would be it’s time to invest in new towel sets (perfectly clean but old)

スタッフはどの時間帯の人も親切で感じがいい ＜部屋は素敵なインテリアと高い天井だが設備には問題がある＞ シーズンオフで他のゲストとはチェックイン時に一人会っただけ、とても静か。その静けさの中、よく効くエアコンと換気扇を切ると天井に何かの機械音が大きく響いていた。換気扇を付けて音を中和？させ＋耳栓でぐっすり眠った。 遺跡観光後シャワーを浴びようとしたら洗面所の床に置いたままのバスマットとタオルからミニコオロギみたいなのが飛び出しビックリ。お湯は出るが排水は良くない、でも一段下がっているので溢れる程では無い。 部屋の照明が暗いのは、一階でプールサイドや庭から室内が見えない為には良いが、洗面台だけは明るい照明にしてほしい。ドライヤーはチェックイン時に申告して貸出制（とても小さい） ＜素敵な朝食＞ ジュニアスイートの大きなベッドに一人で一泊。二人分の朝食付きとあり冗談だと思ってたら、チェックイン時、インドネシア料理とアメリカ料理（と時間）を選ぶ際に「二人分だから両方から選んでいいよ。」と！！ 朝食は席に着いてから炒める音が聞こえて、出来立て。インドネシア料理のミーゴレン（複数から選べる）もアメリカ料理のオムレツ（プレーンとミックスから選ぶ）どちらもすごく美味しかった！パンもフルーツも選べる（私は盛合せ。スイカとパパイアあとパイナップル？） ＜緑も花も多くて素敵な庭＞ 到着時（日没後）も散歩したが、朝散歩すると見たことない花や南国の花が木に沢山咲いていていい感じ プールから見てチェアのある小さな建物と右側の宿泊棟の間の小道の先の扉は開いていてホテル正面のロータリーへ出られる。夜、外の門やその扉が閉められたかは分からない。戸締りと、女性はカーテンの開閉に気を付けるべき ＜その他＞ 充電は壁の中途半端な所にあったのでトローリーケースを台にして充電。扉の開閉はかたく感じたが、ヨーロッパのほど重くは無い。思いっきり押せば大丈夫 昼に沢山食べたのと、一人旅なので日没後外出しなかったが、ドライバーによると近所に沢山食べる所があって「ここも」「あそこも」と教えてくれた。人が歩いていなかったし、薄暗いので女性一人には・・どうでしょう？

Fabulous pool. Loved the beautiful reception area and the central courtyard with fountains in the middle of the rooms. Location couldn't be better, walking distance to Borobudur temple complex. Staff were a delight

Our room had a dusty dirty floor...there was a lot of dust on all the handrails and staircases throughout the building

Sarsvati Hotel is very close to the Borobudur complex and really gorgeous. We arrived by car and were a bit early, but the lovely gentleman in charge had our rooms ready and let us check in a bit early. The lobby and rooms are grand and beautifully decorated. The pool is fabulous and I loved the central courtyard aspect of the rooms. We had to make a very early start on our checkout day and the hotel kindly agreed to let us have breakfast at 6am, even though it normally starts at 7am. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for more.
