My stay was good, but I booked through Hotels.com and it seems they didn't send my booking confirmation through to the hotel so it took longer than hour just to check-in. How frustrating.

Pleasant stay. All was in order. You should consider eblarging the breakfast station though.

We were disturbed during our stay twice because our room was double booked, and the receptionist walked in our room without knocking. Our privacy was invaded.

My Stay was very short as I had booked in and plans changed and had to leave again. The Bed was comfortable, shower big enough. Really good stay. Will definitely recommend toothers.

No towels or soap for use in the room.

The rooms are clean, everything you need, was in the room, staff are friendly but the odor is unbearable. It is a health hazard to inhale the polluted air. All three of us staying there has sore throats the next morning. When going out at the back door entrance, the odor became worst. Unfortunately I can not recommend your establisgment due to the odor.

It was an amazing stay.

Hotel are good value for money. You feel safe in the surroundings. Breakfast was good. The general overview of the room and facility is 3-4 stars. The front desk staff on check-in was friendly and helpful. Hotel appearance is generally good and you feel safe at all times and it is quiet. Perhaps pillows can be re-looked at.

Beds are not soft, cushions very flat not good for a great night's rest, breakfast expensive for the variety provided. Only scrambled egg and dry chicken strips with chakalaka and toast, for R120 is a bit expensive. Also recommend dustbin for the room and not only the toilet,as well as toilet brushes

I liked the fact that you can walk to carnival city in less than a minute

The service was amazing and it was my second time going there and again I felt at home and I was super happy and satisfied with everything.

The place was clean but found the bathroom very small. No lift or bag carrier to help with bags up the 2 flights of stairs and no phone in the room to call reception. Breakfast is also over priced. Liked the vending machine at the entrance but it wouldnt take new money notes.

Nothing was bad but the room was too small and in my bookings there were no specifics about the size and all..we did even have drinking water in the room

Our stay was very comfortable, Check in was excellent thanks to Nosipho's warm welcome and friendly gesture she demonstrates while performing her duty... The room was neat and clean.. It would not be too bad to add sugar, making coffee for 2 people becomes challenging as there's only 2 sachets of sugar and 2 candarel.

Good stay

The hotel location is very convenient to walk from Carnival city. The hotel is okay, friendly staff. The room is not spacious (small). Breakfast was finished before we could self servuce. Overall the stay was convenient not great.

The room smelled like mould . The carpet wasn’t clean

Short but staff was great. The service was good and the room was on point. The price was great value for money and the location was 7 Km to my destination. I also had a special request which was acceded to. The was a microwave which came very handy to my needs. There was an ice maker as well. The shower had hot water and there was a plan for loadshedding. Disappointing was the vending machine which refused to take money.

The room was clean, no complains, environment is good and no noise, staff is friendly, breakfast is mouth watering, no complaints I enjoyed and will definitely come back, next to the mall, lot of variety restaurant inside the casino

Aircon/fan wasn't working. Guy was drunk screaming and fighting at like 1am until the ambulance came. Toilet was not cleaned properly. Floors don't look so clean. Very noisy. Bed was comfortable

From the receptionist to the cleaner, i never experienced this type of treatment plus it was peacefully sleeping there. I'll always recommend it next time to other people who coming from far for any leisure at Carnival city. Excellent service

Disappointed that no provision made for cellphone charging, insufficient room refreshments, sugar, tea for two persons. Overall comfortable but a bit overpriced, taking into account that the interest is more about the entertainment offered.

From the reception to the cleaners, I'm impressed and will book again for the 10th of December 2022 because at Carnival city top arena they'll be Skhumba's comedy show

Our room was neat and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. All the attractions in walking distance from the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Worth the money

Aircon /heater did not work

The stay at road lodge was very interesting, the furniture was okay and we hardly struggled to get by. However, the tea and sugars that were provided left much to be desired as the tea bags were not strong enough and the sugar was not sweet enough. Apart from this, the stay was okay.

After a 4hr journey, I went to the room. Very small but ok to just sleep. Them I went to the toilet and closed the sliding door just to find old dried up vomit all along the rail and floor. Hygiene is avery huge factor when it comes to travelling and using facilities numerous people use. I was so disgusted and appalled by the lack of housekeeping as far as hygiene is concerned. Then to after that, have no welcome pack of basic body wash or shampoo to take a shower after ones journey. Re eption said the 1 crumble bar of soap is enough for 2 guests. I asked for a women to use? Not considerate at all! We arent men. All genders should be taking into consideration.

Room was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the temperatures in SA in summer require a working air conditioner. Third year in a row with faulty air conditioner. Could not open the window as there was an extremely noisy central conditioning unit outside, presumably for the reception area.

The carpets is a no no no. My sinus was troubling me the whole night because of a carpet. There is no fridge, no toiet brush no air freshener in the toilet. There was one glass to be shared by 2 people. The tiles in the toilet were sticky. The room was stuffy, air conditioner was not working. I am not a fussy person but i was disappointed by the state of the rooms.

The stay was great, only two things bothered me; 1) the toilet made a noise as if the water running all night. 2) could not switch on the AC until the next day only to find out it needs a bit of a tap on the control panel for it to work.

Unfortunately we were based in a smoking rooms but later moved to nonsmokers

The room was standard with a few amenities to use, though it smelt of cigarette even though it was a non smoking room. There was no other rooms available to be moved to, so it wasn't such a pleasant night.

My only issue was that the non-smoking area was clearly not smoke-free but the property was otherwise good value for money

Friendly, clean, recently renovated. Walking distance to the Carnival City Casino via the car park. It is an affordable sleepover with all the basics covered. There is no dinner arrangement but with access to the Casino, you are spoilt for choice. They serve a continental breakfast for those who need to have a quick refreshment and go. Do not expect luxury and you won't be disappointed. Expect a basic stay and you'll be impressed.

It was not a pleasant place to be at in this hot weather without any workin aircon systems despite my request sent through I still experienced difficulty with no Aircon working

Everthing was fine, TV too small.Not full package. Tea coffee rashen too little . Should supply some milk. Other than that stay was ok.

We paid a month in advance for this. The toilet door was broken/stuck, and we were advised by reception to use the toilet at the lobby/foyer because the maintanance people dont work on weekends! The security guard was nowhere to be seen, drunken guests were making noise in the passage throughout the night. Night duty receptionists were just as noisy in the early hours of Sunday morning. If you are looking for a peaceful sleep, please try elsewhere!

TV REMOTES DID NOT WORK, ALSO EXTREMELY NOISY NEIGHBOURS AND LOUD IN PASSAGES. NO PLACE FOR BREAKFAST FULL AND MISMANAGED, SEEMED HORT TAFFED AT RECEPTION FELT A BIT RIPPED OFF .

Hi, me and my wife (it was her birthday) enjoyed our stay at the road lodge everything was fine!!! The only problem is the casino, you blow money there and hardly win anything!!!

Safe area and cozy. Located next to a casino with many amenities in close proximity. Very quick and efficient check in and check out.

Excellent Wifi

Don't book at this hotel! Very noisy! People calling for each other down the passages after 10pm! The security claim to not hear anything! Front desk take ages to answer the phone! Location is good for Carnival City but its a terrible hotel to try and sleep at. I was woken up numerous times by shouts outside my room. My advice, stay away!

Nice place to stay at, the bed was comfortable, quiet environment, friendly staff, clean and its a walking distance to Carnival city.

I booked my 74 year old dad and 71 year old mom into this hotel to spend my dad's birthday there. They were unable to stay on the premises due to extreme noise.There was a bus full of school children booked in there who made such terrible noise that they were unable to sleep. SO they just left. The guy at the front desk apologised and informed them to get a refund for the room, as they were unable to sleep there. How do I go about this process?

We were attending a local festival and last minute booked a room. Parking did not allow for double Parking that could fit the food trailrr aswell. During morning hours our gas bottle was stolen from our food truck. Were are security? Also had to ask for towels, since none was in room.

not happy at all the way they clean .The maid used the the cloth to clean the bathroom and toilet she used to clean the mugs and tumblers

The hotel is not clean, bed sheets are smelly, towels are not clean, very small bathroom, there is no place to open your luggage

Linen was dirty with marks n the air was not working. This is not my first time getting such a room at the hotel.

It was amazing, just make sure you have something to do because you literally wait hours for the room to be prepared in the morning. bring nothing to eat or drink later as there is no Fridge in the room.

THE ROOM WAS EXTREMELY SMALL. I COULD ALMOST NOT MOVE IN THE SHOWER. TV ALSO VERY SMALL. NO FRIDGE IN ROOM.

Hotel well maintained. Value for money. Breakfast is freshly prepaired with enough food to feed all, even latecomers!

Being part of a bigger group, the individual service is not as good at reception as can be but the level of service is not bad. Good quality rooms and clean bedding. High value that you pay for. This ideal for a business sleep-over and very convenient should you visit Carnival City.

Room 114, no hot water on 2 of the 3 days I was there, cigarette burn marks on the bedding even though I booked a non smoking room

A perfect hussle-free place to crash for the night after 2 days of cycling from Limpopo to Gauteng. The amenities are standard and service was great, comfortable beds and clean place. Within a walking distance to restaurants and entertainment area inside Carnival City. The reservation just need to up their strength on details of what guests have requested for their stay. We had small issue with claim that we didn't pay for breakfast, yet that information was provided in an email.

Just a quick in and out while visiting casino

I suggest that the wooden door leading to the stairs be fitted with a lock and only card holders to open the door after 22H00. We were woken up by lost visitors, first at 03H45 and then again at 04H15, after phoning the front desk, the security was send up. This is leaving guests open to any person just entering at free will to the rooms, and people can get killed, robbed and the Roadlodge would not know about it.

In the morning we were spoiled with a lovely breakfast before we went out??? will definately gibe them a YES FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVENT GOT A PLACE TO SLEEP WITH BED AND BREAKFAST?? Good friendly South African hospitality at its best. We had to attend a concert at the Carnival city. Easy walking distance. Breakfast was great. Front staff was supberb. Will definitely be back soon. Keep up the service

Overall very well. Just some hygienic issues here and there. Like floss on the floor and marks on doors amd handles.

The service received from the front-desk staff was very cold ans unfriendly. The door key was faulty and there was no willingness to assist.

This is just an average hotel without much expectations. Secure a booking here if you don't want to drive back out of town at night when at Carnival City Entertainment world. Staff aren't friendly and are picky on how and who to speak to and give the best service. One thing I like is the follow up on reservation prior to checking in to ensure if you are still travelling and need the booked room. very efficient on there.
