Centurion Hotel Ikebukuro

The location is very convenient for food, shopping and transportation. The hotel staffs, front desk very polite, friendly and helpful… housekeeping did a good job for cleaning. I certainly recommend this hotel to my friends.

Value for money stay, great location.

Perfect location for Ikebukuro, central but out of the main area. Very walkable and well placed for walking in several directions. Yamanote line was easily accessible. Lots of dining options. Staff were very friendly and helpful. 7-11 underneath was very convenient for grabbing a snack when leaving or returning!

Fantastic service by every single staff member at the hotel. Close and convenient to main train station. Rooms are on the smaller size especially if travelling with a larger family. There is only one laundry room and you might need to wait to get access to it. Lots of dining options around the hotel premises.

We really liked the proximity of the hotel to the transportation. We easily explored tokyo for a few days. The staff was very helpfull and bilingual. However, we found a cockroach in the hotel and there was mold in the washroom.

Nice location. A lot of restaurants and closed to train station. The hotel space is kinda small but it just okay for us.

Very close to ikebukuro station

Great location, 5 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station (2nd largest station in Tokyo). Quiet, could not hear neighbours or outside traffic (we were on the 13th floor). Air conditioning was awesome. Washer & Dryer available though it did get busy later in the evening and you would have to wait but there is a laundromat 2 minute walk from the hotel. The staff were very courteous and one of them was so helpful explaining how to navigate the subway station. Room was tight for 3 people but that's Tokyo.

The best location

I had a wonderful 9 day stay. Super convenient location right by the station and plenty of other shops, clean and comfortable rooms, kind and helpful staff. I’ll definitely stay there again. 9日間お世話になりました！ またいつか泊まります。

We enjoyed our stay at Centurion! The staff are very accommodating, free water/tea/coffee, and great location from the train station. The rooms may be small, but it met our needs.

The location and friendly staff are the key attributes of this hotel. We rented a room on the 5th floor with one queen size and one sofa bed. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Ikebukuro subway station, and there are many restaurants, and game arcades in the area. There is also a 7 Eleven and Denny's restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The room is fairly standard for Japan, meaning it is a bit small and cramped. It could use more lighting, new carpet, a dresser, a full size trash can (in the bathroom), and a safe. Wi-Fi was very good, as was the water pressure for the shower. Toiletries are free and available in the lobby. There is also a microwave, and beverage machine in the lobby for free water, coffee, and tea. Despite it's shortcomings there are enough positives that I would consider staying at the Centurion again in the future.

This place is centrally located right in the heart of anime in ikebukuro which we like. Overall the room is dated and the bed is soft. The lights in the room are rather dim. The washroom is standard but a deeper tub and greater amenities inside with lotion, face oil, face wash, cleanser, and your standard body wash, conditioner and shampoo. Overall the two day stay was good for what we paid. Second time was great, staff at front desk spoke fluent English and was easy to understand.

Staff were extremely friendly and pleasant, room was excellent. Breakfast bar was average. Communication was often a problem, with Google Translator used a fair bit.

Canadians here. I've been in Tokyo many times, in many hotels, this by far has been my favourite mostly because the level of service and kindness from the staff is amazing. The rooms are big by Tokyo standards but could use some upgrades (although that would probably impact the affordability of it).

I've stayed at this location 3 times now during my trips to Japan for work and everytime it's been great! I love the Ikebukuro area and Sunshine City mall. The staff was the same in 2024 as it was 1 year later and they even remembered me from the year prior. They were all so nice and very welcoming. The smoking section is nice and comfortable and has a covered section for during rain. The rooms are nice and big. It's also nice that there are 2 conbinis right downstairs. But the food options nearby are also very good. 10/10 on all 3 of my stays here.

The main plus for this hotel is the location. About 7mins from Ikebukuro Station. 7/11 right next to the hotel and many shops and food places within walking distance The hotel itself is very dated. Rooms feel small and dusty because of the room lighting and layout but it is actually clean. Staff are friendly and can speak English Stay here if you are not too fuss about the negative things and want to be in a convenient location

It is situated in a great area with a lot of options for dining and entertainment. The room was spacious enough and quiet but plugs were limited and the blanket felt cheap They provided shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. I found that it was expensive for what they provided and the kind of room it is, maybe it is because of where it is situated.

Small space. I would not chose to stay there again but it was sufficient.

It was a decent place to stay in Tokyo. Nothing special. Room was spacious for Tokyo. Easy access from the train station, decent breakfast / snack options available near by.

Really good location close to the station

Solid option, good amount of space for 2 people, super close to ikebukuro station, sunshine city is like 10mins away, eveything eas cool more or less but there was a horrible sewage??? smell in the bathroom. Literally the only drawback, and it would change depending on the time of day but yeah, having to hold ur breath when using the bathroom or dreading taking a shower is not ideal at all lol

First stop in Tokyo and this was a great place to stay while we adjusted timezones. Super Central, very close to ikebukuro station. Pillow is a bit stiff but otherwise great accommodations. Staff spoke excellent English so I can definitely recommend this place for those who are unsure of their Japanese skills.

Near to Ikebukuro station and shopping areas. Staff friendly and still give snacks sample to try & recommendations. If you coming by car service, please note that you will be alighted at the roadside along the hotel street.

If you travel with your young family this is a great option, a cross the street there is a park and aquarium, subway station also 5 minutes walk, dining, etc. Loved our stay, worth our money and would come back again.

The cabin rooms are small but good for accomodating 3 people in a tight space. Good for staying overnight in and spending the day out. Really close to the train station and convinient to get around sightseeing.

Best place to stay in TOKYO

I love the property the train station was walking distance.. All the staff was very friendly and helpful.. I will definitely recommend 100 perfect..

Even though the rooms were extra small, my daughter loved the bunk beds...the area near the hotel was buzzing with activity till late night. Lot of eateries and a 7-11 attached to the hotel. The Ikebukuro JR station and metro lines both were walkable distance. Plus was that there was Hindi speaking staff, which made communication at ease for us

So far, the best area I’ve stayed in while in Japan. So many things around the hotel, train station nearby and wonderful staff!

The location was at the heart of Ikebukuro, where nightlife and entertainment are at their peak. The room is spacious and clean, the washroom was very clean, and all the amenities that came in the room were great for any long-term guest. The included breakfast, if you choose to have this option, was Denny's and its offering was alright for the price. The Laundry room was okay, expect to do light loads for better results, every 1-2 for optimal usage. The beds were soft and easy to sleep on. Overall, the hotel is very reasonable in terms of price for location, amenities, and room size.

The highlight of the Centurion was the friendly, courteous, helpful, staff. Even with the language barrier they are able to anticipate needs. The hotel is well located in Ikebukuro, near lots of shopping and restaurants. Easy access to train lines.

Compared to other hotels in the area, the room was roomier. If you want a bigger room, get the 2 bed instead of the single bed. Most hotels dont have dressers, so you will keep your clotges in your suitcases. 2nd bed leaves room for the suitcases to open

Its about a 5-7 minute walk from the station exit. Area is clean and theres a 711 on the first floor. Staff was pretty helpful and kind

Good location with lots of eateries and shopping to do near by. Also close to the train station. The room we had was clean but small. We’ve stayed at many Japan hotels but this was one of the smallest rooms we stayed in. My husband is 5’9” and the width of the room was from his finger tips to his feet when lying perpendicular on the bed. The room we had was 150sf. Doable for a few days but if we stayed longer than 3 nights we would prefer a room with more a little more space.

The hotel was clean but a bit smaller than we expected. We would stay here again because of its location (access to the train station, restaurants and shopping). Our only complaint would be the comfort of the sleep. Specifically the pillows were very uncomfortable and the fold out bed could do with an upgraded mattress. The two standard beds were adequate and the sheets were fine. Also, I realize it's a hotel in Japan but I think it would better serve the guests if the A/C and toilet controls were in English. Every guest we came in contact with was speaking English and not a single guest we saw was Japanese.
