Road Lodge Port Elizabeth Airport

A small, clean and tidy hotel well located for the airport. A manageable walk but a little tricky with a lot of bags and there is no lift. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Room is small and basic but clean and well presented. Would stay again.

There was no water to bath and the management did not do anything about it. They kept saying it's a municipality or area thing but did not show care towards customers. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very well located for hire car and airport. The room was very small and had no temperature controls. When we first turned on the tap in the sink the water was brown.

Hotel is convenient to the Port Elizabeth airport.

Liked: Location next to airport and car rental agencies. Nostalgia - been going to this chain since young. Disliked: Second room had mouldy smell - the odour you get from a cloth/mop that hasn't been washed properly. Was also promised I'd get to keep my first room from the Agoda booking. Had to switch over to a room minutes before having to leave to a wedding - the soul reason I was in PE. Garden view was nice for a change in this second room. Again, very nostalgic. Extreme noise for hours AFTER the rugby match was being watched by the public dining area - a staff member and what appeared to be their friends. During the rugby game is acceptable.

Incredibly convenient for our overnight stay to catch our 7am flight. The hotel is literally steps from the airport. We walked with our bags to check-in. Very nice staff. Clean room, comfortable bed. Hotel food good.

Excellent stop off. Reception staff were great. Room was comfortable. Shower hot and welcome. 2 minutes walk in the dark a little scary but easy to find.

The place is convenient especially in relation to air travel and car hiring. The price is also fair especially for a long term stay.

Highest recommendation for this property. Not only was this property very conveniently located near the airport but the staff always went above and beyond to make sure that their guests were comfortable and had anything necessary to make their visit the most comfortable

The place is safe, neat, and the staff was was friendly and very professional. I was not happy with the TV quality 2025 as well as content and a room without fridge.

The staff were wonderful. They were friendly and professional. The only problem was I can smell smoke in my room. I don’t know if the room next-door was a smoking room, but it drifted in my room a couple times throughout the night.

My stay was excellent, everything is neat, tidy and clean, the staff was dressed smart👍 Will definitely stay at Road Lodge anytime again.

Overall a good stay with excellent customer service from Sandile on Reception. He went the extra mile and even helped me order an Uber when my payment failed.

Could not find a lift, had to carry bags upstairs ourselves (2 pensioners). Very hot and aircon not working. Very noisy which we understood being close to airport, had to keep window open due to aircon not working. Mosquitos enjoyed the open window. Staff were fantastic at reception, restaurant great

Overall nice. Just that receptionists stinky attitude up on arrival. We approach the reception with a lot of luggage and al she brought over her lips: How can I help you? What a miserable welcoming, then giving us the wrong room category, luckily I have done her job and double checked my booking. Its just so frustrating. Everything is there in South Africa, but nothing really works.. Other than that they stay was fair and enjoyable.

Accommodation was excellent, as always. Room was clean and tidy. Almost like a second home for the weary traveler.

This hotel is incredibly convenient for the airport. The car rental companies are located only about a minute's walk from the hotel and the terminal terminal building is about another minute's walk away.

Everything was good except your beds are not comfortable, otherwise I've enjoyed my stay.

I was very happy with my short overnight stay. It was perfect for what I needed, and very convenient being in walking distance, with easy and quick access, to the aiport. Nice pool and outdoor area and the room was clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities. The best part and what I was most impressed with was the eco-friendly nature of the hotel, with minimal plastic packaging and eco friendly soap bars, among other things. They are also making a good effort to minimise water usage in the drought. Please keep up the good work :)

Hotel manager made my day so much better by taking the time to tell me the best route and what to look for. It made a real difference for the better. Also the croissants were excellent.

Very reasonably priced and considering this, met expectations. Extremely convenient location for those flying in and out of Port Elizabeth airport. A safe and clean place to spend a night. Staff were very efficient, pleasant and accommodating.

I never stayed and have to sleep in the car as the Road Lodge hotel I was confirmed booked at was full and have no space for me. Then I was given a phone to call you where you promised to call me back for relocation. The hotel was telling me that you wanted them to lay for the relocation. I left and never received no call from you except an email saying tried calling me and never seen no call from you. Can I please get my money back and I except a lot from you for this inconvenience

It was great, clean and staff friendly. Leaking toilet and we were moved straightaway to another room.

All the basics you need for a short stay in the PE area.

Very unique in that the hotel staff cleaned the wind screens of all the auto's parked at the property. Amazing!!!

Check-in was efficient and friendly. Will definitely go back sgain

1) In room 25 there was a big stain on the carpet which appeared to be blood 2) At room 23 and 33 Security guards stood outside near the room talking throughout the night and communicating via radios, preventing guests from sleeping 3) Breakfast was cold and incomplete and although an undertaking was given to bring the missing item it never happened. Still waiting.

The staff were extremely helpful. Although they didn’t provide dinner at the hotel they had an excellent system whereby we could order a take away from a nearby restaurant and eat it siting at their breakfast tables. We were able to drink our own wine there too whilst having our meal which was helpful as we were flying out the next day and couldn’t carry the wine with us. Could not fault the staff. The hotel itself was perfect for a short overnight stay before an early flight. Bed was comfortable , bathroom was clean.

The only reason we stayed in your establishement was because we had an early flight. I have to say in all honesty it ws one of the most uncomfortable and claustrophobic nights I have ever had to endure. I am aware this is a budget hotel. But I think you have taken budget to a new extreme. The least you can offer your clients is a fan, if you fell offering them an air-con is not financially viable. Our flight was at 06h:35, therefore we did not even have breakfast, nor were we offered coffee and a rusk. We did discover that there are many other hotels on the strip that are literally five minutes away; at that time of the morning there is no traffic and therefore getting to the airport on time is not a problem. We will not be staying in your establishment again and please consider supplying your clients with the very least in the form of a fan. I do not want to interfere in your business model suffice to say its not always about price but rather a combination of comfort and value

Everything was good except that you don’t have Mzansi Magic channel but Road Lodge Richards Bay have.

Easy access from airport. Walkable ! Very nice basic hotel and great value. Picked up our rental car the next day and drove to Addo.

There was a smell of urine in all three rooms, I guess it was from the carpet or the sofa, t(not from the bed wich was very clean).

I asked for extra coffee, thank you. I also asked for a soft pillow. I got the best, softest pillow in creation. I slept so well and it was completely due to my comfy pillow. Sadly, I left it in the room.

Can at least have 2/3 teabags and also more sugar available in the room. I had to phone reception to ask for more, just to hear that I have to fetch it at reception myself. By that time I was showered and in my nighty already and asked the last to rather leave it. About 5 min later, she was so kind to phone to the room and have arranged with someone to bring it to the room. Can also have a shower cap available in room.

Clean, comfortable and walking distance to the terminal

Staff were very friendly and happy to help with any requests. Rooms were decent although little soundproofing, so makes for a noisy visit as its a busy transit hotel. Shower was fantastic, always a relief after a long journey.

Easy check in and pleasant staff. Rooms already allocated due to advance contact by East London Road Lodge where we stayed previous days. Onsite secure parking. Rooms clean and well serviced. Breakfasts good and choices to suit most tastes. All round good value, thanks.

For what we paid it was good value. Room was looking tired and dated. AC unit was old and noisy. Was ok for an overnight before a flight. Can't fault the staff. Hopefully the hotel chain will look at giving this place a refresh in the future.

Convenient to PLZ but that's about it. Easy enough check in and out.

Missed plane and needed to stay over to catch next flight out next morning. Conveniently walk distance from airport saving transport cost and associated risk. Managed to do some work and had a good night rest - all quiet and comfortable. Everything I needed in a time of angst and after a bad day.

I am 70 had to carry my golf clubs and luggage up 2 flights of stairs had school children staying at same time running in corridors shouting knocking on doors even walked into my room from an interleading door

This hotel is really close to the airport. It is necessary only to cross the parking lot. Clean and cheap. I missed an elevator a lot because of the heavy luggage.

We had no complaints. Seeing that the hotel is located adjacent to a very busy airport we expected to have a lousy, noisy stay. However, we had a very good night's sleep, uninterupted by planes taking off and landing.

The Road Lodge provides a clean affordable place to stay overnight prior to an early morning flight from the airport, which is little more than a stone's throw away. No frills as you would expect given the price. Would highly recommend it.

Excellent location for access to airport.

It was what was expected, just stayed for one night, and for the price you got what you paid for, the receptionist were very friendly and welcoming

We stayed one night, after landing at the nearby airport. The room was small, but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good and so was the service. In spite of the location near the airport, we hardly heard airplane noise.

Very pleasant budget motel. - No airport shuttle as advertised - it is short 7 mins walk from terminal. Which can be a little risky dealing with traffic and location if arriving after dark. Hotel should fix this. - ALSO - three level hotel - NO LIFT, only stairs.

The breakfast was different from other Road Lodges I have used in the past. It had tomatoes and beans. It was not dry.

It is okay if you want to stay there for one or two nights.. but not more as it’s pretty basic. The staff were super friendly and nice.

Overall a good stay, but no towels or soap in the room. However, when reported was sorted out instantly.

If you are in business make it possible for customers to have food at theur convenience a d not the convenience of the management. Your location is a goldmine but you are too traditional and inflexible to customer needs. Also improve your customer service to create a better customer experience.
