Ubicación y el transfer al aeropuerto era muy simpático

Para empezar la habitación que nos dieron en la reserva no es la que nos encontramos cuando nos llevaron. Mala expereciancia en general. Nos llevaron a otro sitio en furgoneta porque el alojamiento tenía overbooking. El sitio parecía la casa del terror. Nos dejaron allí casi sin explicarnos nada. Las sábanas y edredones estaban sucios. Vimos cucarachas. A las 11 de la noche llego una pareja y los del alojamiento al irse nos dejaron la puerta abierta en una urbanización peligrosa, nos tuvimos que dar cuenta nosotras. Se escucha todo porque las instalaciones son muy antiguas.Les dijimos que nos vinieran a buscar a las 8:30 para el desayuno y nos escribieron y llamaron varias veces a partir de las 6 y algo de la mañana para que fueramos a desayunar antes, increíble. Luego a las 7 se presentaron allí y les dijimos que hasta las 8:30 no queríamos desayunar. Una vergüenza de sitio, no se lo recomiendo a nadie.

I was pleased with the room - it was clean and comfortable. I was even more pleased with the staff and the shuttle service to and from the airport. I arrived after hours and left again in the middle of the night, but I was in excellent hands. Thank you!

Tres bruyant. Les gens crient, hurlent, telephonent juste devant votre porte à toutes les heures du jour et de la nuit. Ca hurlait encore à 23h50. J’ai envoye un message whatsap a la reception (leur moyen de contact preconisé) en demandant à quelle heure je serais autorisee à dormir. On m’a laissee en « vu ». Un homme est venu tambouriner à ma porte à 2h30 du matin en me parlant d’un chargeur de telephone. A 5h du matin, ca recommençait deja à crier. Les robinets de la douche sont inversés donc j’ai cru un moment qu’il n’y avait pas d’eau chaude. Rien d’indiqué à ce sujet. Et le matin, la receptionniste a fait un gros semblant de rien et m’a demandee pourquoi je n’etais pas venue manger. J’ai quitte l’endroit 1 h plus tot que prevu. Le chauffeur de la navette qui prend son coup de fil au moment de mettre la valise dans le coffre. Donc c’est moi, solo female traveler qui, avec un sac à dos de 20kg sur les epaules, a mis une valise de 23 kg dans le coffre pendant qu’il retournait s’asseoir en mode princesse derriere son volant. Si ils avaient souhaite que je ne revienne jamais, ils n’auraient pas agi autrement.

ヨハネスブルクでなければ良い宿だと思いますが、セキュリティが不安でした。 部屋の入口が窓で割れば入れる。 ゲートが一つのみで、隙を見たら入れそう。 電気柵がなく、登れば入れそう。 金庫もなし 洗濯サービスはなし。 キッチンなし。 エアコンが無く、ヒーターも小さいため、冬は寒いです。 また2人目からシャワーのお湯が出なくなり、水シャワーになりました。

De hele nacht brandde er buiten licht, de gordijnen hielden dit helaas niet helemaal tegen (kieren). Daardoor de hele nacht veel licht in de kamer.

Dinner was great and staff are very friendly, wonderful hosting and shuttle services available that arrived on time for our flight without having to follow up. Hot shower available and heater for the cold nights.

Breakfast is very basic and you can't help yourself, rather they put the food on your plate (rationed). A drunk man banged at my door so hard at night it scared me.

Airport bus was on time and hostess, charming and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable, and personal helpful. Breakfast was plenty and delicious!

Maybe a bigger post or meeting point at the airport, to announce Dove's nest. We momentarily got lost and could not meet our hostess immediately after clearing customs.

It is a very basic, affordable overnight spot, great for one night if one needs to be close to the airport. The free shuttle service is ideal.

Shuttle didn't pick me up. The deadbolt and chain lock to front door were broken. Had to spend 274 rand for taxi. Tiny heater in room is useless. Room super old need's renovation. Didn't feel safe on premises. Contacted marketing director about problems never responded.

EVERYTHING!!! Especially the fact that their communication is extremely LOW. I had requested the shuttle to pick me up from the airport but that didn’t happen had to get a taxi, and all I got was “Oh those taxi guys are so greedy why wouldn’t they take you to our driver? This was the front office representative speaking like it’s the taxi drivers responsibility to push business their way. As hosts they really need to start working on pleasing their customers and fixing their place up. 1st incident is, the main French door to the room does not lock from the inside, one of the staff was of help as she helped me with this issue among others which I will not disclose but It’s not as it seems once you are in there, it’s clean but the infrastructure needs attention yet they say it’s a new unit. Also after requesting a fully functional shower I got the opposite a clogged shower! There are 2 bright lights outside the room (attached photos) and they were lit the whole night through and of course I didn’t sleep. They need better beds you can’t be laying in a sinking ship. Then in the morning just before the 5am shuttle I asked the driver to help me with my 3 big baggage’s as I was upstairs they have no elevator, and he says NO I need to ask the security personnel pointing in whatever direction in the darkness as he can’t do it now, mind you he only had one guest in the shuttle he had just one piece of luggage that was already stowed in - it’s the arrogance for me that irritated me the most and at 5am to a guest - Really? This review truly doesn’t explain the extent in which I had to just deal with this location after blind booking and not reading the bad reviews and the no refund policy. At this point I truly regret no going for my usual safe haven in transit - The GARDEN COURT they are professional and deliver what they promise no shuttle stress they will go out of their way to please the guest.

The only good thing was how close the guest house was to the airport.

I do not have enough words to express my disappointment. No hot water after a long flight, terrible staff, no amenities (not that I could use them with no hot water), dirty towels and beds, bathroom curtain was falling off it's rail, no in-room heating (I was given a tiny heater), no food unless you get there before the cafeteria food sells out (when?), no options for additional shuttles if you miss the hourly one (I had to pay for an Uber to take me to the airport to not miss my flight). Overall, would not recommend, go literally anywhere else, even if its more expensive, do not give this establishment your money.

Worst Bathroom, Noise with some construction work

I suppose it is cheaper than other hotels in the area, but then again, those are proper hotels. The shuttle is a perk, but I think the shortcomings of staying at this place outweigh the benefit it provides.

I didn't like the fact that the walls to my room were literally an inch thick, and I didn't like the fact that the geyser for my room didn't seem to be turned on. The water never turned on, and I was unable to shower. I also didn't like how, in the middle of winter, the windows don't actually fully close.

Room was in outside temporary building with an unstable floor. We requested a different room and got one in a brick building with proper floor. Staff was unresponsive. Heater looked like it was not safe to use. Door did not lock properly, only safety gate could lock. TV channels limited. Booked for 2 people, guest house thought it was only for 1.

Proximity to the OR Thambo airport - it was literally a 3 minute drive. Free shuttle and breakfast was provided as part of the cost.

The pictures of the rooms on the booking.com website do not show you the other not-so-great rooms that they put you in when they are fully booked. We were put in some rooms in the back made from cargo containers that were not very nice and not worth the amount we paid.
