Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Beautiful and peaceful surroundings right on the river, and the staff are wonderful and very friendly.
the location is quite isolated. Restaurants, supermarkets and other amenities are around 11 km away, and getting a taxi can sometimes take quite a while. Unfortunately, our room had a strong damp/musty smell, visible mould in the bathroom and a very dirty air-conditioning unit. We both became unwell with severe headaches, and I developed irritated airways and a heavy cough. We suspect the damp conditions, mould and dirty air conditioning may have contributed, although of course we cannot prove this. Only afterwards did we notice several reviews from other guests reporting similar issues and becoming unwell, which is concerning. A real shame because the resort itself is beautiful, but the rooms need much better maintenance. In our experience, this was not the standard we expected from a 5-star property.

Les chambres sont vraiment agréables, spacieuses, lit ultra confortable, salle de bain super. Salon d'accueil exterieur très sympa. Terrasse pour petit déjeuner super. Massages de bonne qualité. Endroit reposant.
La salle de restaurant n'est pas très agréable et ne vaut pas un 5*. Assez bruyante et dans un style industriel, elle manque un peut de confort et n'est pas cosy. Pas assez de variétés "internationales" proposé au petit déjeuner : obligé de commander une des formules, principalement que du salé, à part la gaufre qui était très bonne avec les oeufs et le bacon, mais j'aurais apprécié de pouvoir changer de formule sur nos 3 petits déjeuners. Spa très sympa mais la vue de la salle de massage pourrait etre mieux aménagée. Manque une salle de sport. Hotel très éloigné de tout et leur service de taxi coute une blinde. Aucun grab dispo autour donc obligé d'utiliser leur taxi pour partir de l'hotel. je vous conseille de trouver un numéro de taxi en ville, de prendre son numéro, et de négocier avec lui vos AR sur votre séjour.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026The hotel is in a wonderful location, a bit out of town so you need a car, but quiet and peaceful as a result. The rooms are funky and fun. The restaurant was really great and the staff fantastic.
Our only gripes were the rooms were impossible to get really dark at night (but they did provide eye masks) and there are only 4 bikes and 2 kayaks, so if you want to go as a family cycling or kayaking you need to split up...

Reviewed Jun 29, 2026We had a wonderful 2-night stay at X River and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing break. The location is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind. The staff were amazing throughout our stay, very friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Before we arrived, I messaged the hotel to ask if they could arrange a birthday cake for my wife, and to our surprise, they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a villa. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made my wife's birthday even more special. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend X River to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back 🙏

Die Lage am Fluss bietet einen atemberaubenden Ausblick (mein absolutes Highlight), es ist super ruhig und entspannt hier, was nach Ausflügen in Kanchanaburi genau das Richtige ist um runterzukommen. Das Zimmer war großzügig und modern ausgestattet, die teilweise kostenfreie Minibar und der gratis Afternoon Tea waren ein super Plus, welches wir nicht erwartet hatten. Abendessen und Frühstück waren gut. Das Personal war sehr herzlich, fröhlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt und würden definitiv wiederkommen. Viele Dank an das Team für den schönen Aufenthalt.

اسلوب طاقم العمل حشرات وسحالي في الغرفه روائح كريهه في الحمام الحمامات غير نظيفة يوجد ازعاج من اعمال صيانة انصح بعدم استخدام قارب الكياكي لأنه قديم ويدخل الماء في القارب ليس لديهم منقذين في النهر وادوات السلامه صفر. المنطقه بعيده عن المطاعم والاسواق. ارجو بعدم اخذ بأقوال المدح للمكان لان المكان لا يستاهل الزياره.

The breakfast was delicious, with a chance to try excellent local dishes recommended by the waiter, and the sparkling wine at breakfast was a nice touch. Stylish interior, and a calming, meditative bathroom with soft ambient lighting.
The shower door was broken and kept sliding open. The bungalow we stayed in was slightly tilted, so we kept sliding to one side of the bed. The fabric panels on the roof had also faded.

Reviewed Apr 19, 2026Extremely peaceful, we were at zone 2 (floating cabin) the view of sunrise is magnificent the rooftop on the cabin is 360 degrees you can see the river all the way in every corners. Food menu is variety and taste good. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They offered my grandma a ride free of charge to local hospital as she needs to get her wound dressing daily. 8 of us had the best time of Thailand trip here and my husband would love to comeback and stay here next time.

Reviewed Apr 18, 2026The rooms were amazing and spacious (could have fit more than 4 people), the hot tub was really nice, and the floating doughnut was a great addition. We could Kayak for free which was great and the grounds were also really spacious and clean to walk around in.
It's a bit far from the city so it takes more then 30 mintues to acess places in Kanchanaburi so i suggest coming with a car. Food was good but it would be nice to have the menu more diversified.

Reviewed Mar 15, 2026Een prachtig hotel, met een perfecte locatie aan de rivier, heel idyllisch en mooi vormgegeven. Het personeel was ook erg vriendelijk!
De locatie ligt zo'n 15 minuten rijden van Kanchanaburi, daar hebben we ons een beetje op verkeken. Er is niet veel te doen in de buurt van het hotel, dus 4 nachten was dan misschien wat ambitieus. Al hebben we wel heel erg genoten. Daarnaast kon de kamer wat schoner. De badkamer stonk een beetje, en er waren grotere schimmelplekken zichtbaar in de douche en wc. Dat had wat schoner gemogen. Ook was de douche de laatste twee dagen redelijk koud. Al met al heeft het ons niet in de weg gestaan van een heerlijk verblijf.

3 points for improvement: First the AC is very noisy, even in low speed. That might need revisiting as it is crucial in hot country like Thailand. Second, the waitresses at the Bridge aren’t very empathetic. Don’t get me wrong the food is amazing but not everyone can tolerate spice and when ordering the same soup that was perfect on Thursday, is now very different, much more spicy on Friday. When asked why, we were basically told it was the same maybe with a little more pepper and walked away… At this price point this is not acceptable! Not even offered to swap it… And third, please add a few kid dish, there is no kids menu yet the location has at least 1/4 of customers being kids… Again, a little consideration for spice level and allergies would be good. Not everyone is Thai…

Reviewed Jan 22, 2026We stayed in a Luxe Float Cabin. Words can’t describe the incredible location on the river. The sounds and sights were just so beautiful, relaxing, and special. We loved swimming in the pool. I had an incredible spa treatment. Yes it’s more expensive than most massage places, but the vibe and location was so wonderful. I could never get bored of just sitting outside and watching the river and birds. We also spotted a water monitor lizard, which was cool. All the staff were great and helpful and sorted out a special transport request for us.
The food could be improved. We stayed for two nights and ate every meal there. I think if this could be tweaked and improved it would make the whole place impeccable. Anyone with a heart and soul would be happy to spend all their days here, if the food was a little better. Flavours seemed to be a bit strange. Not terrible but just not great. And also we would’ve liked two beers in the mini bar - there was only one option of each drink. A small point.

Uns hat besonders der schöne Ausblick auf den Fluss und die Herzlichkeit, mit der wir empfangen wurden, gefallen. Sämtliche Zusatzwünsche (Fahrer in die Stadt sehr früh am Morgen für einen Tagesausflug, Wäscheservice, Nutzung der Spa-Angebote) wurden bestens erfüllt. Reviewed Oct 18, 2025Everything! We stayed at 2 bedrooms Water Fall Villa. It was superb for decoration & facilities. We also enjoy choices of breakfast. They have been served with good quality.
Should have indoor fitness as it sometimes raining outside & we couldnt got out for outdoor activities. Fitness could be a good option. No need for big one.

A bit far away, that was our choice to have a quiet retreat for 4 nights. Probably should have booked 2 nights here and 2 nights in town. Still a great place to stay.
