Kokanee Glacier Resort

Our room was fastidiously clean with a new bathroom renovation and new bed.

OMG was I duped by the name, location and website photos! This is a very old motel (two star at best) that has reno'd bathrooms and new beds. But is purposely duping customers by removing the name MOTEL online. The accommodation is an OLD MOTEL NOT a RESORT. The room pricing does not fit the accommodation whatsoever. The rooms are the most depressing accommodations I have ever stayed in (please see my photos). We could hardly wait to leave. This accommodation was only $50.00 less than staying at the much grander Blaylock Mansion (accurate name and 4.3 star hotel) just a minute drive away. So glad we paid for a mountain view - NOT!

This is a family run property with a beautiful restaurant.

We liked the renovations to the bathroom. All the floors were new. All surfaces has been painted. New windows. New furniture. Brand new toaster and kettle. Nice dishes. Nice green area.

Space for food prep was minimal. When leaving with vechicle it is scary making a left hand turn out of the property.

We needed 2 body wash..the small...1 cannot be enough for 2 adults

Greeted by the friendly owner who was accommodating to our room request. Nice view from the outside. Had a fridge to keep our refrigerated stuff cold.

Not really a resort per se as there are no activities on site and access is set up like a motel. Not all the rooms are renovated yet and noise from outside could be heard.

The view was beautiful.they said that we didnt book a pet friendly room. So it was a extra 270.00.

The extra cost was unexpected. The air conditioner didnt work most of the time. There wasn't any outdoor activities.like horseshoes or lawn bowling .something for guests to do outdoors

Great view and location. Dined at the restaurant and had a wonderful meal.

The view of the lake. The gazebo. The front office staff. Ease of parking.

There was inadequate bedding for the sofa bed and some basic items missing in the kitchen, e.g. a tea towel. The place had a sterile feeling. It was a bit farther from town than I was anticipating. The food in the restaurant was not worth the cost.

Very clean and newly remodeled room had a ansofa and kitchenette with new appliances. Bathroom was clean and modern. easy off road parking. No road noise in our room 110. we didn't try the restaurant but menu looked good... Asian and seafood

Good location with lake view. Unit was newly renovated and very nice inside. Bed, linen, towels were all fresh and comfortable. Kitchenette was fully equipped, so convenient for family. Friendly and attentive staff, thank you!

It was advertised as a “resort” but turned out to be an above average motel. There was no access to the lake.

the accommodation was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable, and all worked well. The food was delicious, and we had a lovely chat with MeiMei who was interesting and very good company. We would happily stay there again

The bath was a little slippery!

Didn't know there was breakfast on offer. Not sure if you just made that up, booking.com. It was a charming spot with a great tub and nice little living room to hang in, great place to crash after riding bikes and hanging out in Nelson.

The porch lights were very bright and it would be nice to be able to turn them off. Was hoping to catch the stars.

The restaurant at the hotel was amazing. The meal was delicious and our server was great.

Location was very good. Room was basic and adequate. Great bathroom.

No clothes hangers in the closets.

Wow!!!!!! This is our new go to spot. MeiMei was amazing. 100% the best customer service we have ever had at a little family run spot. The room was new remodeled and super cute with everything you could want. We plan on staying for 5 days this summer. We love this place!!!!!! Thanks MeiMei for your hospitality.

The outside grounds, the amenities in the room, everything appeared to be brand new good value the on-site restaurant is excellent food and very Tastefully decorated All around A great experience and highly recommend it

Had a kitchenette

Not close to water or town. Pictures are not always what it really is. Killed at least 3 bugs everyday. Cobwebs in corners. Needs 2 night tables in bedroom Kitchen was ok. Recycling bins for resort right outside room.

The cabin was lovely, had everything I needed & was clean & comfortable. The lady who looked adfter my check in was lovely & really helpful. The location is stunning.

Owner was friendly and accommodating. Views were beautiful. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Pet friendly. Nice location.

No breakfast

Greet location. Enjoyed having an outdoor area to sit with a beverage. Restaurant on site was great.

Rooms were a bit sparse. Only one bedside table. No side tables next to sofa.

Bathroom was nicely renovated and bath soaps and shampoo were nice. Space was adequate. Staff was pleasant and tried to help when we had the leaky refrigerator.

Just because you bring your pet with you, You shouldn't be relegated to a unit that has ripped carpet and a leaking refrigerator. Room carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. When using the microwave for the first time there were moldy crumbs on the glass plate, Limited cutlery in the kitchen set up. The resort pictures showed several units that were totally renovated and we were placed in a unit that was not very nice.

Highly recommended. The room facilities are new, clean, and well maintained, and the price is very reasonable. The hostess was very warm and welcoming, introducing the surrounding area and local activities in detail, which was extremely helpful for planning the next part of our trip.

Kokanee Glacier Resort was a wonderful stay — clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything one could need. The Meimei was friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. Highly recommend!

It was clean

Facility is old and somewhat dated. Paint/finish was peeling off of tub. Bed was hard. It looked less like a "resort" and more like a hotel where monthly stays are common.

Great hosts and delicious food. It was easy to drive Into Nelson for shopping and convenient for walks along the lakeside.

This is a nice older property. The room I had would be great for an extended stay as it had a full kitchen. Not a lot of amenities, but this staff was great and very attentive to details. Would definitely stay here again if the price is right.

Grounds were lovely and great for our dogs. Rooms were new and felt luxurious but bedside table and lamps would have been nice. Hall closet had no shelves and no coat hooks in rooms. Overall very comfortable and nice stay.

The new rom renovations were very very nice. Well done with nice decorating. The restaurant deck view is stunning and the food very good. Love the Asian flair. Great grass and yard area to throw the ball for my doggy. A lot of seating areas for a picnic too.

We were in a lower suite. Could hear the people upstairs thumping loud when they walked. I think the ceiling is thin.

This is a clean but older property it is good value, we enjoyed our stay.

Very clean, nice room. She gave us an upgraded room but we just needed a 8 hour sleep. Beautiful surroundings on the water.

200 a night is a little more than I would like to pay. We just needed a clean bed and shower.

This is a very pretty property. With everything modern inside and very clean outside. We found that our extra pullout bed was not particularly comfortable. But otherwise everything was nice.

Good location renovated rooms

It was a clean, comfortable place to spend the night while we explored the area. Proprietor was very pleasant and accomodating.

The view was great. It was pretty quiet, and the front desk gal was fantastic.

Parking, coming and going, and mattresses were a struggle.

Het lijkt op de foto's alsof je vanuit het resort zo naar het meer kan lopen. Dat is beslist niet zo! Eerst 5 minuten met de auto en dan pas toegang tot het strand.

Lovely family run motel. We were upgraded to a suite which I would recommend as the dining options are limited in the area with the exception of driving to Nelson. The on-site restaurant was lovely - went there for dinner on our first night. We'll be back!

Very welcoming and accommodating! Good parking, beautiful, spacious grounds with spectacular views; perfect for gatherings! Clean and comfortable suite. Very gracious hosts. Love this resort, we will definitely return.

Clean, modern room. Nice property and amenities (bbq, laundry). Well stocked kitchen for cooking. Very reasonable pet policy. The owner was very approachable and attentive to our needs. We really enjoyed our stay here with our dog.

The owners of this property are totally amazing,wonderful people. Very accomodating. The property was fantastic, extremely clean, and the restaurant on site exquisitely delicious. We are definitely coming back Soon ...:)

Absolutely nothing, This was such a pleasurable place to stay. Great environment ! I guess maybe one thing ......The restaurant is only open for lunch and dinner, (closed Sunday's and Monday's)....... If this restaurant was open 7 days a week and serving Breakfast as well, I would never want to leave..... Over the top Delicious food ....:)

The views from this property are incredible. The air and water here are amazing. Lots of dining choices. They are pricey but great quality. 9.5/10 for sure

The room was super clean, and set up just right. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We got more than we expected with this booking. Very quiet, and a beautiful view.

There was nothing we did not like

This is a laid-back, friendly resort that enjoys spectacular views of Kootenay Lake, and is home to a consistently delicious restaurant with an exceptional patio. Easily the most comfortable motel lodge I have ever experienced. Room decor is fresh and clean. My suite, which was at the center of the lodge, beneath the patio, and next to the housekeeping room, was nevertheless very quiet and comfortable. The entire suite was very clean. The bedding and mattress were very comfortable..The AC in the living area was very effective, enough to cool the adjacent bedroom. Low security lights surround the lodge, so it felt very safe, even during night walks. (Those on longer stays might consider bringing a blackout curtain if you need a very dark bedroom.) To my dog's great joy, the resort grounds include at least two acres of manicured lawns, pretty flower beds, a great tree house, a well maintained playground, and a covered patio with plush deck furniture and BBQ. Hotel management is extraordinary. They will care for you every moment of your stay, as well as before, and after! I felt like I was staying with good friends. I would highly recommend Kokanee Glacier Resort for a stay of any duration.. Families, couples, solo travelers, pet owners--come one and all.

I had stayed here 12-13 yrs ago so just had to go back…The owner was super nice and couldn’t do enough for us. Room was recently renovated and so was very nice. 15 min from downtown, close to free ferry to Crawford Bay and about 45 minutes to Ainsworth Hot Springs.Would definitely stay again, hopefully soon. Recommend highly if staying in/near Nelson.

The hotel room was very clean and totally renovated with a small kitchen area, sitting area and separate bedroom. The hotel has a wonderful area outside to sit and look out over the lake. The owner was very friendly and wanted to make sure we were happy with our stay. It is a very well taken care of hotel.

Great location, great amenities great kitchenette with fridge/freezer, stove, microwave etc. Nice, quiet, & very clean. Air-conditioner worked great. Less than 15mins from Nelson. 30 mins to Ainsworth hot springs & beach spots close by. I came to kayak & paddleboard & this place was perfect. I would definitely come back!

I could've used a hairdryer as i didn't bring one, but to be fair, I'm sure they would've given me 1 if I'd asked. The bed wasn't the comfiest, but i still slept fine.

We spent our 5 year anniversary trip at Kokanee Creek Resort and it was fantastic! From the service, cleanliness, quality, and food, everything was amazing. Right from the start we were met with friendly service and our room was beautiful and spotless. The restaurant is a hidden gem, beautiful atmosphere with some of the best food either of us have had in some time! Even if you are staying in Nelson, the 10 minute drive is worth it!

The view here is outstanding! And the customer service was fantastic. Very happy with our stay and we will definitely be back!
