I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 night stay, it was very relaxing in beautiful surrounds and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Being mid week there were not many people staying but the On-site restaurant still had a full menu which was excellent. Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. While is was a bit rough to swim at the beach, the actual facilities for relaxing by the beach were fantastic and the pier was lovely for sitting on and relaxing. There was some noise from construction work occurring at the resort, however it wasn't disruptive in any way. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing stay

I would highly recommend for this resort the services for me is wonderful, all staff are very friendly and helpful.

This lovely place allowed us to truly relax in our great room (‘outdoor’ bathroom is wonderful!), the restaurant (breakfast particularly amazing) and the pool. The hotel also arranged drivers for airport, evening trip to Kampot, and a day trip to Angkor Borei/Phnom Da. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful too

Great place to go for stress release

We always choose to stay at Samanea Beach Resort at Kep and this was the 4th time. Everything was just perfect - the weather, the warm service, food, the vibe, the private space and private pier (best for sunset view).

Staff were excellent, food was amazing, spa was also excellentcouldn't ask for anything else to be more perfect!

Our villa was lovely and spotlessly clean. It was cool and spacious. The pool area was pretty and the restaurant food excellent with plenty of choice. All the staff were very courteous and cheerful. We really enjoyed our two day break here as we were tired from our travels and welcomed some relaxation. The only down sides were that the ‘beach’ was not really a beach… more a shingle area with a pier. We would also have like the hotel to provide a little more information about the local area and things to do/visit . Overall though, a great place for a bit of R and R.

We stayed at Samanea resort late December to early January, the resort has 15 suites .The staff were sensational nothing was ever too hard for them to help with, brilliantly led by hotel director Jonathan , we also did new years with the staff on their beach. the day spa is highly recommended I used it 3 times. The food at the resort was outstanding, beautiful sunsets over the Gulf of Thailand. Kep where the resort is Cambodia's seafood capital is a 15 minute drive from the resort . Nearby is Kampot this area is known for its pepper . In all I would highly recommend staying this resort , good value for money

I stayed four days in this little peaceful paradise. I highlight the quality of the service and the attention of the team to details, and their kind gestures. The location is very convenient. You can reach Kampot, the pepper plantations, the national park, the krab market very easily by Tuktuk. The hotel also provides bicycles. The pool is very clean and peaceful and the beach lounge area is private and cozy with a view of the sunset. I went to the Spa and was very satisfied of their professional services. The room I was in was clean, airconditioned and big (the half outside bathroom is a plus) and the bed is protected (bed net against insects). I warmly recommand! It cannot be a disappointment.

We stayed 2 nights at Samanea and it was great. The resort is superb with large rooms and lovely grounds. The service and food are excellent. Great place to stay in Kep.

What a fantastic few days we had. The professionalism and attention to detail were over and beyond exceptional. We practically had the resort to ourselves, the food, staff and cleanliness were fabulous. It felt like heaven on earth. Well done Johnathon for managing such a wonderful resort.

We stayed for 3 nights and this was a fantastic way to end our trip. We were really impressed with the size and quality of the villa which is one of only 12 in the spacious complex. There was an amazing outdoor shower and bath tub in the villa. There is access to a private beach, lounge and swimming pool. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant is great. All meals were freshly prepared and there was a good selection. The hotel organised a Tuk Tuk into Kep and we enjoyed a walk in the National park. We felt really rejuvenated when we left.

This is my spouse’s favorite place. It is absolutely beautiful. Walking down the pier feels like walking toward the most beautiful edge of the world. The cool breeze and the gentle waves feel like they are purifying my soul. We also had a wonderful time at the Kampot pepper farm, which is not far from the resort. This is the second time I have celebrated my spouse’s birthday here. I am so grateful to the staff for the birthday cake, champagne, and the lovely room decorations. Dinner at the outdoor table was truly memorable. Also, the electric car tour to the pier was a very special experience. Thank you so much to the manager and all the staff.

After a lovely warm friendly welcome from manager Johnathan. We found Samanea wonderful resort to unwind in after a week of travelling around Cambodia. The rooms are amazing, clean, spacious and have a feeling of luxury. The outside bathroom is a wonderful experience. The food at the restaurant was really good and at a reasonable price. We had breakfast every day and an evening meal a few times. Lots of choice available.The gardens and the pool area are really beautiful and well kept. The location is great for a short tuk tuk ride to Kep Crab market, restaurants and beach. A little further to Kampot but well worth a visit. What makes this resort extra special is Jonathan and his team. The whole team go above and beyond to help make your stay really memorable. Special thanks to Khy Pet who looked after us so well at breakfast each morning. We highly recommend this resort.

This was a beautiful hotel. Rooms are all in bungalows scattered around the lovely grounds. Our room was huge and very comfortable. Food in the restaurant was excellent and all freshly prepared. We ate dinner each night and had one lunch and all were excellent. Breakfast offered a great choice and was A La Carte and so everything was freshly prepared. Staff were all very friendly and anxious to please. I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautifull and discreet intimate resort . Everything you need to spend time to relax is there . The bungalows are very comfortable with amazing outside shower. The food is very well presented and has plenty to choose from the menu . The swimming pool is great …. Staff are very friendly, discreet and there to help If needed .

Chambre très spacieuse, très confortable, douche en extérieur magnifique. Les alentours sont très verts et paisibles. Petit-déjeuner copieux et vraiment très bon, beaucoup de choses faites maison dont le pain. Dîner excellent aussi. Service aux petits soins et chaleureux. Ponton très sympa qui s’avance dans la mer. Piscine simple mais agréable. Globalement on a adoré !

Nous avons fait 2 soins au spa (massage et soin visage) et pas pleinement satisfait du personnel et de la qualité des soins, en-dessous de ce qu’on a pu avoir ailleurs et plus élevé en terme de prix.

The sunsets here are absolutely beautiful, creating such a calm and peaceful atmosphere by the beach. The resort feels relaxing and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The staff are wonderful, friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. The food is also very good, with plenty of tasty options to enjoy, it’s a perfect place to unwind, relax, and enjoy quality time in a beautiful setting. I would definitely love to come back again.

We had an excellent stay at Samanea Beach Resort, a definite 5-star experience. The service was outstanding from start to finish, with genuinely friendly and attentive staff who made us feel very welcome. Aw-kun ch'ran! The premises are absolutely beautiful. The resort is set in lush gardens, and the large pool area is stunning and very relaxing. Even though the beach itself isn’t the highlight, it honestly didn’t matter at all because the pool and garden surroundings more than made up for it. Overall, a fantastic resort with great service, beautiful surroundings, and a very high-quality experience. We would happily return and highly recommend it.

Nous avons passé 3 nuits au Samanea Beach Resort & Spa et ce séjour a été vraiment super. L’hôtel est situé dans un endroit paisible et calme, idéal pour se détendre. Le personnel est adorable, attentionné et très professionnel. Le directeur de l’hôtel est particulièrement présent, toujours accueillant et de très bon conseil, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable. Les infrastructures sont très bien aménagées, de grande qualité, et comme il s’agit d’une petite structure, on s’y sent vraiment à l’aise, presque comme à la maison. Tout est pensé pour le confort des clients et tout est facilement accessible. C’est également un excellent point de départ pour des excursions, notamment le site de La Plantation, situé à environ 40 minutes en scooter par une route très agréable. L’hôtel organise d’ailleurs la location de scooters à un prix très démocratique, ce qui est très appréciable. Les petits-déjeuners sont exceptionnels, variés et de grande qualité, et le restaurant est excellent : on y mange vraiment très bien. Nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel et y retournerons sans hésiter.

I knew that there was not a real beach, so it was fine. There is a small private area , but the water is murky and it is not a real beach.

We stayed for a couple of nights as part of a vacation in Cambodia. The resort is beautiful, comfortable, quiet. Great pool, and nice private beach to hang out or view the sunset. The staff is very attentive, friendly, helpful. Great restaurant with great food. We had a great relaxing time there and would highly recommend the place.

Jonathon and his team provide a friendly and relaxed retreat. The restaurant is outstanding in quality and variety, rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff are delightful and caring. We have had the best 3 days of relaxation. The highlight was a low key New Year's Eve celebration around the fire pit on the beach, sending paper lanterns into the sky. But that was just the icing on a very special cake.

This place has a very special atmosphere and is a great base from which to explore Kep/surrounding area. We were here with our teenage kids for three nights as part of a bigger holiday exploring Cambodia. The staff were so attentive and thoughtful and our breakfasts were delicious. We ate supper here too and had excellent meals every time and top notch service. The rooms were fabulous; so spacious and with hammocks outside to relax in. Enormous swimming pool with loads of space and then the pier for sunset. It feels like such an oasis as there are only twelve rooms spaced out amidst green gardens. Whilst we were here we went by tuk tuk to La Plantation (pepper plantation) which was an excellent way to spend a day. Seeing how the pepper and spices are grown was a real highlight of our trip. We also did a walk round the national park seeing monkeys on the way and had a cold drink at Led Zep cafe at the end. We visited the crab market a few times to soak up the atmosphere and ate all sorts of delicious seafood and lots of pancakes. Jonathan the manager was extremely helpful and this whole place exudes a wonderful sense of calm. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Samanea Resort was fantastic! Firstly, the staff from the check in to the restaurant were very attentive and kind. Also, they remembered my coffee style preference each time. The food was very good, and the prices more than fair. The room was spacious, clean and the garden bathroom perfect for our family!!! Great location but staff need urgent training After reading previous reviews we were looking forward to the food. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. We ordered a starter and 2 main courses my asked her Salmon be cooked medium well… Our starter didn’t turn up . The waiter came and said sorry her forgot to write on the kitchen order. He said he would bring after main course we told him no thank you My wife’s salmon was undercooked and raw inside. When we queried the undercooked salmon he said that the chef had read it wrong and cooked it medium rare…… we were not offered compensation or a reduction in the price at anytime it should also be noted we were the only 2 people in the restaurant at the time. This was then compounded when checking out we were presented with someone else’s food bill added to ours.. again when we brought it they said it is ours and went and checked and came back very sheepish and said yes it was someone else’s food bill… Al in all very disappointing in a gorgeous venue and superb facilities

We have just had 3 nights here, unplanned as the troubles in Cambodia changed our route We received a wonderful welcome from Johnathan and his team This place is wonderful. A calm, clean environment. Big spacious rooms with great bathrooms. A lovely walk to a private pier for sunset and a quiet pool But top marks are for the bar/restaurant team. Very attentive (but not overwhelming), very friendly and great memories. You can tell they have been well trained and are a credit to the hotel It’s a must come place if you are coming to Kep Ps. Breakfast is great

We loved the location: the room is outstanding, the bathroom outside fantastic and we‘ve also enjoyed sitting after dinner in the newly built library. The restaurant offers a great variety of food which is tasty and well-prepared and breakfast is simply outstanding: Both, in terms of variety and quality. Not to forget the staff: incredibly friendly and decent - 10 out of 10!

We stayed 4 nights at the Samanea at the end of a busy trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. What a perfect spot to relax and be very well looked after. Our villa was beautiful, spotlessly clean and the outside shower was the icing on the cake, loved it! Jonathan and the whole team are amazing, always smiling and nothing too much trouble, thank you Nhan for our daily language lesson over breakfast! The resultant is great for breakfast and chilled area for dinner after the bustle of the cities. The hotel offers excursions, but were equally pleased to arrange a scooter hire for us, which was delivered to the hotel. It was my husband’s 60th birthday whilst we were there and we were given a bottle of bubbles, a birthday cake and Jonathan arranged for a private dining table in the gardens, which was lovely. The only problem with this resort is when we had to go home!

We spent six nights at Samanea Beach Resort and had a wonderful time. Our Junior Suite was immaculate and spacious and the grounds were beautiful The resort is in a great location - right on the beach a short tuk tuk ride to the crab market, pier, and Kep National Park. There are complimentary bikes you can use to ride around the grounds, a private beach and pier, expansive pool, gorgeous restaurant with a variety of local and western dishes, lounge with books, sporting equipment and games plus a spa. There is no reason to leave the resort if you don't wish to. The hotel manager, Jonathan as are all the staff. We will definitely be back.

Tutto. É pulitissimo. Arredato benissimo. Personale attento e gentile. Il direttore é un ragazzo tedesco, pieno di passione e gentilezza. Per andare alla spa si deve passare tra le mangrovie ( bellissimo). Il ristorante é eccellente, ( il migliore provato in Cambogia) come la colazione. Da non perdere assolutamente l' Amok di granchio. Una delizia. Le camere sono meravigliose e il bagno é il fiore all' occhiello. Per andare al mercato del pesce bisogna prendere il tuk tuk, ma bastano 2 dollari e ci vogliono 3 minuti.

Niente. É un posto perfetto... Se ci fosse pure la piscina in spiaggia sarebbe ancora più perfetto. Perché l' acqua del mare non é un granché, ma sarebbe molto piacevole stare inntiva sl mare.

Sehr lecker! Gemütlicher, schattiger Liegebereich am Meer zum Relaxen. Sehr schöner Salzwasserpool. Hängematte vor dem Bungalow, Mückengitter. Kep vor der Türe, Pfefferplantagen und Kampot nicht weit. Würden sofort wiederkommen!

We stayed for two nights at Samanea Beach Resort and truly enjoyed our time. The most important highlight is definitely the staff — from the gardener to the receptionist, from the waiters to the housekeeping team, everyone was welcoming, friendly, and always smiling. The design of the common facilities is very well thought out, especially the beautiful lounge and the fire pit by the seashore, surrounded by small cabanas and sunbeds — a perfect place to relax. The restaurant was also excellent, the rooms spotless, and the gardens beautifully maintained. Well done to Jonathan and his team for creating such a charming atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay — it was a wonderful escape in Kep!

Wow! This place is amazing- beautiful setting, lovely staff , immaculate bungalow style accommodation and delicious well priced food and drinks. Excellent value for money. Had the place nearly to ourselves. Didn’t want to leave!

This is a really lovely resort in Kep. The rooms are sizable and beautifully appointed, the pool is huge. The restaurant is really great. The breakfasts are delicious and huge, the dinner menu has something for everyone and the food is very high quality. The staff are lovely and very friendly, will be very sorry to leave!

I was a guest at Samanea in May 2024 and August 2025. We came back here (even though we decided to live in the area) because it was a magical stay. The management and staff has created this exceptional ambiance that gives you a ton of woooow-moments :)) The garden is one of my favourites. They recently improved the SPA that we tried. I can recommend it! Checkout the restaurant too, it's worth it! I really love this place and will come back!

Fantastisch. Kamer/huisje aan alles gedacht. Zwembad goeie kussens. Restaurant heerlijk ontbijt/lunch en avond eten en ruime kaart. Personeel stond altijd vriendelijk klaar.

Très bel hôtel, plein de charme, déco dans le stye colonial. Personnel adorable et très serviable. Nourriture excellente et plats copieux.

Seul petit bémol est le prix des boissons et la taxe de 10% qui est appliquée sur les consommations au bar / restaurant, la note grimpe vite. Il manque peu-être quelques transats à la piscine lorsque l'hôtel est complet (ce qui n'était pas notre cas).

Everything. The rooms are so spacious and comfortable, the pool is lovely and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The cabanas on the beach are a perfect place to relax and just read and listen to the waves. One of my favorite places.

That i had to leave it.

It was a wonderful stay. The staff was extremely friendly and Jonathan the hotel manager was very helpful and went out of his way to make our stay memorable. Our villa was clean and the outdoor showers were a really unique touch. The restaurant had great food. We were there in the off season so we had plenty of space at the pool and the beach.

Been once in 2018 and again, never make me disappointed. Staffs were helpful especially reception and restaurants. Room was clean and they said just renovated. Sunset pier is bigger. They should add more bycicles for guests cos when i were there, available only 4 bikes not sufficient for guests if they all want using it.

Tiny, dirty (plastics from the sea) and murky dark waters. Not usable at ALL. - else, I'm struggling to find any other negatives! Date of stay: April 2025, Villa D3 There's no good or bad villa - all the same. Get a motorbike and go to Kep, crab market, La Plantation pepper farm - go hiking.

Great service, wonderful setting and location.

When we first arrived we weren’t quite sure what to expect. The hotel is tucked away and doesn’t have a grand entrance. However, that made it all the more magical - a bit like stepping through a doorway into paradise! The staff were so welcoming and friendly, the grounds and gardens beautifully kept and our room was stunning - the novelty of an outside bath and shower area (obviously walled!) will live long in the memory. There’s a beautiful pier on the property from which you can look back at the hills behind the hotel or take in one of the stunning sunsets. The saltwater swimming pool was lovely and provided great relief from the heat of the sun! The breakfast selection was extensive - cooked fresh to order and served on the restaurant verandah under cover from the morning sun. We ate 3/4 nights at the hotel and the menu was fantastic - both Khmer and other regional and western cuisines. All cooked fresh, presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. Definitely one of the most favourite hotels I have ever stayed in during my life! Loved every moment!!!

I loved the vibe of the place. The rooms felt very well designed for comfort and luxury. Taking a walk around the property was such a joy as it looks so beautiful and well-maintained.

I wish the wi-fi extended all the way to the beachfront area of the resort, but I can see why that's not a priority of the property.

A very nice place, relaxing and quiet, exactly as on the pictures. Kep with crab market very close, 5 min by tuk tuk, very easy. The staff is very caring, doing everything possible for a perfect stay! I regretted not staying more than 2 nights.

I liked very much the homely feeling of this place: 9 bungalows spread around an immaculate and mature garden give you that feeling of being in your own home. The bungalows inside have a colonial feeling and are generous in proportions with everything you need, the outside shower and bath is a nice touch to keep you in contact with nature, the pool is very attractive and the beach cabanas just invite you for lazy hours. But the best thing is the service: people here couldn’t be more accommodating. Just to give an example: yesterday we sat down in the garden for a drink and while served our drinks of choice I was just mentioning to my fellow travellers that I forgot to use the mosquito repellent and I was too lazy to go back to my room to put it on…moments later the person that was pouring our drinks come back with a bottle of mosquito repellent…I mean: this is more than service! Well done to everybody you have made my stay so easy and comfortable.

Gorgeous little bungalow type accommodations! Different to other places we stayed, we loved the outdoor bathroom. The breakfast was varied and so tasty, staff so friendly and we ate dinner both nights in the cool bar/dining area and both were lovely.

We loved staying in Samanea and Kep. The tranquillity and peacefulness attracted us to the resort. Our host, Jonathan, the girls at reception, security guard, gardners and cleaners were all very friendly and helpful. We loved our room, it was spacious and our outdoor bath tub and shower was perfect. We have our teenage sons with us, who loves the pool, paddle boarding and private beach. We spent a lot of time inside the resort as it was such an enjoyable place to be. We will be back!!!

The property was lovely unfortunately we arrived on a day there was building works going on it was extremely noisy, however when we contacted the manager saying we weren’t happy we were moved to a different room and the situation was dealt with very quickly and a free evening meal was offered.

Beautiful small resort with very nice rooms, excellent food and wonderful staff and service.

The property is great, just a shame that around the resort there are a few buildings in progress…

The villa was very nice and comfortable set in a beautiful garden. Excellent and super friendly staff and service. The breakfast is a la carte and of high quality. The restaurant is the best of the area.

The only minor point is the seaside and beach area. Don't take the hotel when you are looking for the seaside holiday.

An other gem in Cambodia. A secluded location with only a handful of rooms. The staff are simply wonderful. Nothing g too much trouble. Near to Kep and all that entails and also a tuc tuc ride to the fabulous Bo Tree pepper farm and town of Kampot. Excellent restaurant. Wonderful Spa. Loved it.

This was a once in a lifetime stay. The property is immaculate - spacious, but very few rooms, so it feels like you're all alone in paradise. Best of all, however, is the staff. Top notch service from start to finish. Highly, highly recommended. We very much look forward to returning.

It’s a lovely property with very comfortable rooms and great staff.

For a solo traveller it wasn’t great. I was the only guest which felt a bit disconcerting at times. And there was no music or entertainment and as it was pretty remote maybe that would’ve been nice.

In my opinion Samanea is one of the best hotels in the world. It has everything you need and more! The staff is exceptional and the atmosphere is magical! You will - for sure - be relaxed and reloaded with energy after a stay there! We will return for sure! PS: Compared with other national hotels Samanea beats them by far :) Sorry

Very friendly and helpful staff and manager. Very beautiful and well maintained place. Good restaurant, breakfast is amazing, best I've had in Cambodia so far. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool is great too. We really enjoyed our five nights stay at Samanea, very relaxing. Would definitely go there again. Not perfect, but it's close to a 10 !

A bit pricey, as the beach is not as wonderful as the rest of the resort and that's too bad. Rocks in sand and a few garbages make it not that enjoyable for kids to play there and the sea itself is not very inviting. I suppose there is not much they can do about it though, and if you just want to have a walk there and enjoy the sunset it's fine. Also we tried the massage with my wife and while relaxing we thought it wasn't worth the price.

Mosquitoes zapper should be included in the rooms. Food menu should be updated, not much to choose from.

Everything about the Samanea Beach Resort & Spa was outstanding! What initially helped us choose this property was our contact with the manager, who assured us that the restaurant could cater for nut allergies. Jonathan and his staff are very attentive and we were excellently looked after during our stay. The restaurant has a very wide menu and the food is incredible! We loved it so much we even ordered takeout to take away with us when we checked out! We also enjoyed the on-site spa treatment. The pool area is ideal and has a lovely large pool in comparison to many hotels in Cambodia. We enjoyed walking down to the private pier to watch the sunsets each evening. The chalet/apartment was beautiful with very comfortable beds and sofa. The outdoor bathroom is a lovely feature and so spacious. We had an amazing stay and look forward to returning on our next visit to Kep!

The staff were very nice, welcoming, attentive. The place was exceptional!

Beautiful hotel. Loved the rooms and surroundings. The restaurant food and service was extremely good but also friendly. Would recommend a stay here and worth coming to Kep to experience.
