Hotel Flower Garden

The whole place was not suitable for human habitat. It was really a construction site. Even the kitchen staff were carrying cement bags with their kitchen uniform. Pools were not clean and they simply cannot be used by humans. Old rooms with dirty linen and used furniture and used kitchen equipment are every where, Please do not get attracted to pictures on their website. They had the display of their rating which was dated to 2017. We cancelled our booking and found accommodation elsewhere. But it was total waste of our time.

Love this place. Great location with 2 sizeable swimming pools, very helpful staff and an excellent breakfast.

Flot have og skøn swimmingpool

Det var meget besværligt at booke en ekstra nat. Det tog 1,5 time at booke. Personalet var inde på vores værelse, uden vi ved hvorfor. Min søn var på værelset, da en ansat pludselig kom ind. Da han så min søn, gik han igen uden forklaring. Vores dør blev også låst, mens vi var ved poolen.

Шикарная территория, много зелени, ощущение, что живёшь в джунглях. Номера большие, немного уставшие, но нас это не напрягало. Хорошие завтраки, приветливый персонал. Однозначно рекомендуем.

La localisation

Personnel inefficace et très peu agréable. Douche n’est pas propre et le logement dans l’ensemble fait sale, surtout si vous êtes dans les chambres en face de la route. Piscine à nettoyer, odeur désagréable au sein de l’hôtel et personnel peu présent pour vous.

There were no easily labelled options for breakfast, even though we had explained that we were vegan so unable to eat most of the buffet items. The staff were friendly enough, although not compared to all the other places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The hotel itself has real potential but was a bit tired and could do with a deep clean to bring it up to standard

Мы жили в бунгало номер 9, в принципе все устроило. В номере все необходимое. Кондиционер, сейф, холодильник, чайник, чай, кофе. Уборка каждый день, полотенца меняют регулярно. Завтрак шведский стол. Приятный персонал. заселили раньше установленного времени. большое спасибо. Отличное расположение в начале туристической улицы. До пляжа минут 15 пкшком. Пытались заселить вместо кабаны в номер ниже уровнем. Но итоге, заселили как положено, в кабану.

Красивый ,уютный отель,живёшь как в раю.Единственный минус по утрам будят обезьяны-макаки ,устраивая игрища на крышах домиков.Жили в отдельном коттедже,номер большой ,удобная кровать с балдахином,хорошие матрас и подушки.Кондиционер и холодильник всё работало исправно.Территория очень ухоженная ,утопает в зелени ,2 бассейна, вода теплая,можно купаться ночью,по территории бегают пальмовые белки и черные обезьяны - лангуры .Дружелюбный персонал.Большое спасибо за гостеприимство!

1.Отвратительная организация завтраков вроде шведский стол ,но яичницу и кофе нужно заказывать через официантов, которые через 2 минуты забывают про ваш заказ. Блюда на шведском столе практически не пополняются, так что если вы придете через час после начала завтрака, то будете голодными 2. Отелю требуется организовать обработку территории от москитов, огромное количество комаров

Для своей первой поездки в Унаватуну я искала интересный, но не слишком дорогой отель, в пешей доступности от пляжа. И я нашла Hotel Flower Garden! Он просто чудесный 😍 Персонал милый и вежливый, встретили нас с коктейлями, всегда были готовы прийти на помощь! Номера есть на любой вкус и кошелёк - дешевле в общем отеле в несколько этажей, или дорогие виллы с несколькими комнатами для вашей семьи. У нас был отдельный чудный маленький домик, где кровать с пологом, огромная ванная комната, маленький холодильник, рабочий стол. Правда кондиционер шумел как бешеный, надеюсь не во всех номерах так 🫣 Завтрак стандартный, но всегда вкусный: фруктовый сок, разные фрукты, омлет или яичница, сосиски, помидорки, тосты с солёным маслом и ягодным джемом, кофе или чай на выбор. На территории два бассейна, правда из-за большого количества растений и деревьев в них часто плавали листья и семена. Но нас это не смущало, мы с удовольствием плавали и отдыхали на лежаках, когда океан штормило! Сама территория заслуживает отдельной песни 🥰 столько ярких цветов, обычных пальм и необычных деревьев я ещё не видела в одном месте!!! Рядом настоящие джунгли, поэтому бегает разная живность: мартышки, бурундуки, тритончики, тараканчики... 😅 До пляжа идти минут 15, но у нас с подругой обычно получалось дольше 🤣 Виновата в этом улочка с магазинами, бутиками, кафе и ресторанами, которая идёт к океану!

Шумный старый кондиционер, спать с ним было невозможно! На ночь, чтобы не помереть от духоты, включали вентилятор, который тоже не бесшумный, как вы понимаете)) Вайфай работает только на решепшн, до номеров не достает((( Хорошо, что мы купили симкарты сразу в аэропорту и у нас была связь.

Average hotel, no staff after 9pm and can't find help

Came for lunch friendly staff. Lalith at the restaurant was nice and friendly. Normally we stay here too but they were fully booked. Central place.

This hotel is amazing with two big swimming pools. The rooms are brilliant and each room has their own little garden with lots of wildlife like iguanas, ,geckos, chameleons and different species of birds and insects. The food is great served next to the pool with a nice calm atmosphere.The WiFi reach can vary but is strongest and most reliable at reception.The staff are very friendly,nice and helpful. Ciarán 10

Stayed here many time. Staff amazing and place really beautiful. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Unawatuna. Good Wi-Fi in communal areas (doesn’t quite reach all rooms). The eco friendly question hotels.com asks is difficult to answer. They give lots of bottled water, which I guess isn’t very eco-friendly - but that is what tourists want. I guess maybe if they had a large central water dispenser people could refill bottles for that would reduce plastic use. I think some tourists might complain though. It is a difficult issue for a Sri Lankan hotel

Lovely setting. Needs some tlc though. Rooms clean but pool areas need work and modernising. The bar is dated and breakfast was pasta, or mashed potatoes, which is strange. The only downside is that it is full of Russians and no other nationalities. The owner is lovely and friendly and most of the staff are nice. Added bonus is the monkeys that came to visit most days

Upon arrival the super deluxe room was dark, dingy and was across the road from the pools and restaurant. We were offered a different room by the pool which was cheaper and the booking.com booking was cancelled by the hotel and we were given 15 dollars off the original price as the room was cheaper. The new room had a broken electrical socket, broken wardrobe handle, broken light switch and the TV didn't work at all. Also there was no WiFi in the room. The light switch was fixed but we had no TV for three days despite repeated requests for it to be fixed and we're told that WiFi was only available in reception and areas of the pool close to that. My girlfriend slipped on a pool of water due to cleaning and a coconut fell from the tree on the pathway and missed my head by two feet (remove them if they are going to endanger your guests!). We asked the manager (let's call him Basil) to discount the bill due to the above and a member of his staff said he had agreed 13 dollars off the bill. We paid the bill with another staff member and got the receipt only for Basil to shout 'pay your bill' across the reception area half an hour later as we left but succeeded only in embarrassing himself. So Basil, two things, firstly sort your rooms out and if something breaks then fix it promptly and secondly try enrolling on a customer service refresher course rather than shouting at your guests. The other hotel staff were lovely and the pool was great as well as the food.

We were excited to return so booked our stay here for Christmas as the pools are great here. We booked superior deluxe room and were shown to another building. Empty and lonely feel 😔 We switched to cabana instead which was dark, had holes in mosquito net, broken plugs and wardrobe handle and tv didn't work for our full 3 day stay..despite asking manager several times. The staff here were really nice tho and were kind when I fell over on their wet floor as it had just been cleaned but not sealed off and my boyfriend missed a coconut dropping from a tree by a few inches (they should be removed for the safety of the guests if ripe)...a kind 2 out of 5 as we eventually agreed 23 a dollar discount for disappoint (they made this back however by cancelling booking.com and us paying directly with them).

Wonderful views of the jungle and tons of wildlife just a few steps from your room. Beautiful pools and area.

Great value for visiting unawatuna. Beautiful bungalows with all what you need. Good and healthy breakfast. Juices, coffee's, fresh fruits ,omelette and sausages . A lot of monkeys on the trees close to the swimming pools. Very good experience. If back in the area that's our hotel!

We stayed 3 nights and it was a nice experience. House keeping were really good. Mr. Lalith helped with food. Malith helped to clean the room. Kishor helped to move our luggages. All staff is well trained and clean rooms. Only issue was the breakfast didn’t had much variety. Every day same menu. It should have atleast hopper corner or string hoppers, omelet, waffles. But overall it was great

Two very nice clean pool and sunbeds always available. The downside to this hotel is in my eyes they don't cater for UK citizens. Breakfast is entirely for the many Russian guests.....everything with cabbage and as for the fruit juice....I would love to know what flavour it is supposed to be........ We were there for 4 days and never heard another English voice....

Flower Garden trully was stunning place. Hotel staff was really friendly and kind, breakfast was super large-scale, pools were fine and cleaning worked well. Whole are had many different wifi so it worked really well.

Obwohl fast keine Gäste im Objekt waren auf Grund falscher Warnung des Amtes bemühen sich das Personal. Ich finde die Situation in ganz Sri Lanka ist in keiner Weise als bedroht anzusehen.

We decided to have a nicer hotel for our last days in Sri Lanka. First night they put us in rooms which were a complete disaster! We couldn't sleep all night because the roof was leaking water. Water was dripping on us and all our clothes and bags got wet as well. Then in the middle of the night when we turned the lights on there were COCKROACHES in our bed!! That was just sick and this night was the worst accommodation experience that we have had in our lives!! Second night we got upgraded to a suite because we refused to stay in that room any longer. Althought it took us almost 5 hours to wait for the hotel manager and new room so our last day in Sri Lanka was ruined by waiting the hotel manager with our stuff in the lobby and no sleep before the last day.

Hotelli on rauhallisen sivukadulle varrella, hieman kaukana rannasta. Ympärillä on paljon rehevää kasvillisuutta, oravia, liskoja lintuja... Huoneemme oli mukava moskiittoverkkoineen ja siivoojamme teki todella hyvää työtä. Palvelu oli nopeaa ja joustavaa. Buffetaamiainen oli monipuolinen, söimme muutaman kerran päivällistä ravintolassa ja illalla palvelu oli hieman hidas, mutta ruoka hyvää. Lähistöltä löytyy kaikki tarvittava, mutta kapea katu, jonka varrella palvelut ovat, on vilkkaasti liikennöity, jopa hieman vaarallinen. Hotellia voi suositella lämpimästi. Rantaan kannattaa mennä tuk-tulilla, joitain paljon ja helposti saatavissa. Wi-Fi oli hieman hidas meidän huoneessamme.

We stayed for 5 nights. Generally the stay was good but the hotel was a let down a little by the cleanliness of the rooms and that it felt a little tired. Service was good and any issues we had (noisy room and broken bathroom door) were sorted quickly enough. Wifi only worked close to the common areas in the hotel, our rooms were too far away.

Dejlig roligt hotel tæt på både forretninger og stranden. Til trods for en del trafik op ad dagen kunne det ikke høres fra hotellet. Værelset var rigtig stort, dejligt med et skrivebord og køleskab (dette var dog ikke gjort rent for nyligt). Badeværelset ligeledes stort, men man skulle stå op i boblebadet for at bruse sig. Dette medførte en del vand, der løb under karret og ud over gulvet, så man skulle ligge håndklæder dels for at holde fødderne tørre, men også for ikke at falde på det våde gulv. Stor balkon de stole og lille bord. God plads til at hænge håndklæder og badetøjet til tørre. Hotellet har to fantastiske pools, som vi brugte rigtig meget. Den ende pool var lavt i den ene ende, som er godt, hvis man har mindre børn med. Gode liggestole med parasoller rundt om begge pools, flot beplantning rundt omkring. Morgenmaden var mangeartet og i rigelige mængder. Rigtig velsmagende kaffe, dejlig kolde juice, frugt m.m. Tjenerne meget opmærksomme og yderst venlige. Hjælpsom receptionspersonale. God lobby med behagelige sofaer, desværre kun fri wi-fi i lobbyen som virkede rimeligt. Rart hotel hvor der var plads til alle. Dele af hotellet kunne godt trænge til en opfriskning, samt udskiftning af bl.a. myggenettet over sengene. Dels var der huller i, men kunne også have trængt til en grundig vask. En del af håndklæderne var lidt for forvaskede efter min smag. A/C larmede en del.Den daglige roomservice var fin. De gjorde værelset og sengene helt fint i orden.

We booked the luxury penthouse suit only to discover it was across from the main hotel and up 2 sets of spiral staircases. The room was small and dark the bathroom has a terrible smell with the bath leaking everywhere due it having a crack. Asked for our money back after 1 night as we were due to stay 6 after standing my ground the gave a some of our money back .

The property is average but a crowded place with 2 swimming pools and littl garden. The room we booked, Super Deluxe Cabana, was a larger room the nect level down seemed better value. The WiFi is only avaalable around the pool and lobby area which was a bit incovenient. When we arrived the re was a broken chair in the room only one glass, none in the bathroom no spoon for tea/coffee making aircon ws note really big enough for the space. Most of this was rectified but needed the manager, who was not a very friendly sole and evasive, to intervene.

A 3* hotel that is comfortable and 10 min by walk from the beach. Nice restaurants in the area and good breakfast.

Kivat uima-allas alueet ja puutarha.Hyvä aamiainen ja illallisella hyvä ja edullinen ruoka. Illallisen hintaan sisältyi alku- ja jälkiruoka. Erittäin hyvä viinilista. Infossa makoili pahalle haiseva koira, joka oli hotelli väen hoidossa. Huoneessa oli kerran torakka ja parvekkeella muurahaisia ym. Kylkyhuoneen kaadot väärät, joten vesi jäi seisomaan altaaseen ja vedenpaineet heikot. Meidän majoitus oli perimmäisen talon 2. kerroksessa. Varmaan mukavampi huone olisi ollut oma bungalow tyyppinen huone omalla terassilla. Mutta kaiken kaikkiaan mukava hotelli ja ystävällinen henkilökunta.

I stayed one night there. Room was not the cleanest one but okay. Wifi does not work in the rooms, only in the lobby and (sometimes) at the pool area. Breakfast was clearly better than average in Sri Lanka. Staff was really nice and I got free late check-out until 6PM. Location is decent and many nice restaurants are close by and the beach is not far away either. They close one of the two entrances at 11PM and it was difficult to find the other one. Perhaps they should tell that during check-in.

Tillbringade 5 nätter på Flower Garden. De första två nätterna i en bungalow där badrummet sett sina bästa dagar, vatten läckte ut från wc, möss åt på vår tandkrämstub och en stor spricka i jacuzzin. De försökte fixa det men utan att lyckats, vi blev flyttade till ett liknande rum och hade en fortsatt bra tid på hotellet. Efter förhandlingar blev kompensationen en middag med vinflaska på hotellet. Restaurangen levererade kött högt över förväntan och middagen blev mycket lyckad! Stället ligger tyst bortom myllret och få störande ljud på natt eller morgon. 8-10min promenad till stranden. Glöm inte bort att besöka djungel beach som är mycket lugnare än stora stranden.

Good location within close distance to bars and restaurants. Hotel has lovely public areas - gardens are beautiful, 2 lovely pools with sun loungers and umbrellas, dining and bar area clean and welcoming. All staff were very pleasant and professional. Good choice of breakfast items and all very tasty. We only eat dinner one evening at the hotel but food was plentiful and well presented and good quality. We were early for check-in and were given a welcome drink and cold towel and the staff worked quickly to getting us in quickly, and we were given a free upgrade of room. There were only 2 downsides - the jacuzzi bath (with overhead shower) was cracked so you had to be careful were you stood when having a shower, and a couple of the room chairs were broken . Very small items and these didn't spoil the overall experience. Overall, it's a lovely hotel and very good value for money.

Mooie en nette bungalows gelegen in een prachtige tuin met 2 zwembaden op wandelafstand van het strand. Heerlijk ontbijt en lekkere keuken tegen een schappelijke prijs. Heel vriendelijk personeel.

First impression when we got to our room was not so good as we were in the main older building. We were upgraded to a super deluxe room which was huge with a kitchen and lounge area but it was very dark so at first we though not so good (quantity over quality). But, after all curtains and nets were opened and lights put on we realised how lucky we were. Our own massive private balcony overlooking one of the pools was great. Nice to be able to sit in the lounge part when the heat on the balcony proved too much. Two nice pools, nice relaxed atmosphere. Great breakfast, best out of the 7 other hotels we used throughout our tour of Sri Lanka by a good measure. Location is very good with lots of little and great restaurants on your doorstep. Short walk to the beach and nice bars etc there. Overall very happy and would return is ever back in the area.

Firade nyår på Flower Garden. De bjöd på fantastisk buffé och tillhörande traditionell dans. Kvällen avslutades med ett nyårsfyverkeri som vi sent kommer glömma. Vi försökte få tips om bra restauranger men upplevde inget större engagemang i denna fråga. Hotellets wifi var det sämta av alla hotell vi stannade på. Barnen var mycket missnöjda.

Vi boede 5 dage med vores piger på 10 og 12. Vi havde et stort familieværelse med to kæmpestore dobbeltsenge og et stort badeværelse med spa. Det er et dejligt hotel med god mad. Vi havde halvpension og der var både pizza til børnene og gode curry retter. Vi var der juleaften og der var en stor buffet og underholdning med Kandy trommer og dans. Gode pools og meget serviceminded personale. Alle var søde og hjælpsomme. Det er 10 min gang fra stranden. En tuk tuk koster 8 kr. For os var det utrolig dejligt at trække os tilbage til hotellets have og pools efter en lang dag i solen. Hotellerne og barerne på stranden spiller tit høj musik til sent, så for os på familieferie var Flower Garden helt perfekt.

Siisti hotelli lyhyen matkan päässä rannasta. Huoneeseen ei kuulunut häiritsevää melua ulkoa. Hotellin toinen uima-allas oli likainen, mutta koska meri oli lähellä, emme sitä olisi käyttäneetkään. Hotellin sisäpihalla oli iltaisin kohtalaisesti moskiittoja. Henkilökunta hymyili jatkuvasti ja auttoi mielellään. Huone oli mukava ja ilmastointi pelasi hyvin. Henkilökunta siivosi huoneen päivittäin. Aamupala koostui tuoreista hedelmistä, kahvista, mehusta, paahtoleivästä ja vapaavalintaisesta kananmuna/pannukakkuruoasta. Pidimme aamupalaa oikein hyvänä. Muu ruoka oli keskinkertaista. Mikäli varaa hotellin kautta retkiä eri kohteisiin, kuten luonnopuistoon, kannattaa sanoa tiukasti, haluaako matkalla nähdä muita nähtävyyksiä. Nämä nähtävyydet ovat usein maksullisia ja järjestäjä yrittää väkisin viedä turisteja niihin.

This hotel was the biggest disappointment of our trip. The rooms were fine but a little dirty and the bathroom needed a really good scrub. The location was fine, facilities were fine but the pool was really cloudy/dirty on our 3rd day there and after telling staff twice they did nothing. There didn't seem to be a manager at this hotel and the staff are what really let it down...if this hotel was properly run it could have been great. The staff here just really don't seem to care about their guests at all.

HOTEL accueillant, et agréable, et calme en plus très bien placé à 200/300m de la plage. Je pense que c'est le plus agréable de Unawatuna, les chambres DELUXE, sont bien, mais quand on voit les CABANAS qui sont charmants très agréables et de bon confort on regette d'avoir réservé la chambre... nous avons prolongé notre séjour (réservé pour 3 nuits) de 4 nuits en CABANAS.... super! LA CUISINE EST DELICIEUSE inutile d'aller sur la plage manger du poisson grillé, on peut en 'avoir sur place et très bien présenté pour moins cher que sur la plage, de plus une salade en entrée et un dessert sont souvent offert. restaurant parfait.

A lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens . We had a lovely room with a large balcony overlooking the beautiful swimming pool. We enjoyed 2 excellent fresh fish dinners and delicious breakfasts. We look forward to coming back here one day and will definitely be recommending this hotel to our friends

总体来说酒店很不错，尤其餐厅，早午晚餐都很好吃，这在斯里兰卡很难得。房间什么的都不错，就是热水供应的不太好，隔音不好，晚上隔壁房间的声音听的很清楚，别的都不错。

Die Bezahlung des Zimmers erfolgte von uns an Expedia durch Vorkasse. Obwohl die Buchung bestaetigt war, verfrachtete uns das Management des Flower Garden in ein anderes Hotel. Mal eine Frage Expedia. Sind das Eure Geschaeftsgebahren, Hotelzimmer anzubieten, die gar nicht vorhanden sind?

Dejligt folkeligt hotel, beliggende lidt væk fra stranden. fin restaurant og god morgenmad samt dejlig pool. enkle værelser. en anden gang vil jeg helt sikkert bo i de selvstændige huse/bungalows. en fint 3-stjernet hotel med god valuta for pengene.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It is a little bit of a walk to the beach but wasn't, a problem for us. Lovely pool and we are in the hotel one night which had a good selection of steak options which was a great change from the norm and was very tasty. Also nice friendly service from staff

Hotel is set about 5 min walk from the beach and is nice and quiet away from all those beeping horns. 2 great pools to pick from in a garden setting. Rooms are bungalow style and could do with some slight maintenance. We only stayed one night and would have been happy to stay longer but they were booked out for 2 weeks over New Years.

Good rooms with comfortable stay. Had few ants and a large Spider in room. The hotel is not at the beach and is 10 mins walk away, which was a disappointment. Overall it was good stay with value for money
