Reviewed Sep 10, 2026I loved the comfortability of the bed. I loved the warm and welcoming hospitality of the staff from the reception area right through to house keeping. I appreciated the Indian gentleman offering me a juice as I was checking in, this melted my heart because I needed something to drink as I was not feeling well. Also appreciate being called in the evening just before bed to ask if I am okay and comfortable in my room.
Just a bit of water and toilet sound noises from the other rooms but occasionally 😅. My shower was also a little bit clogged especially when I opened the water a lot.

It was delicious indeed and had a variety of dishes. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who wishes for a comfy stay.

We stayed in room 205 on the second floor. The room smelt damp and muggy.. the cupboard of the fridge was swollen and damaged..the aircon didn’t work even after maintenance came and checked in. The parking is very limited and cramped. Safe jammed. It was ny first terrible experience.

Despite showing the lady at reception the booking confirmation and pin and the confirmation email from booking.com and 4 other emails from coastlands she could not initially find the booking. She was not communicating as to what the problem was and after telling her that we were late for an event we needed to attend then only did she apologize and say their system was syncing with booking.com. we were to wait then eventually told to take a seat when we kept asking what's going on and if we could fasten the process. The floor we were given was also very noisy. We could hear the people in next room the entire night, especially in the balcony singing and talking past midnight. The bathroom room tub shower was too narrow.

Room 118 was next to the spa quarters of the spa. The ladies spoke till late hours of the nite and early hours of the morning. The lack of natural light made the stay claustrophobic. Irrespective of me requesting for a room above 1st floor , I was given this room. Highly disappointed. Wont come back.

Room was not clean. Carpet was dirty, counters stained and tiny insects crawling on the bathroom floor. Standards had dropped significantly over the last 12 months. Bookings made through Booking.com result in a poorer overall experience in comparison with booking with the hotel directly.

My main issue was thr aircon in the room, which I was told by maintenance, only worked with the room card slotted in by the door. Maintenance was nice enough to provide me with an additional room card. The hotel apparently has control over the aircons and have them set to a low level. My room was too hot. The wait for service during dinner was extremely long, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. Room service didn't respond to me at all, even though I called several times.

Wifi access password should be in the room or given to guests when checking in. I had to call reception. Number for reception not clearly stated/shown in the room or next to the phone. Bottled water should be made available in the room on the house since durban water experiences sanitation issues. Per nightly rates are quite high. It doesn't make sense that guests need to pay for parking separately like one does at a mall.
