Newly refurbished accommodation fully met our needs.Food at dinner and breakfast exceptional.

Service at dinner far too slow. 40 minute wait before drinks and food order were taken.

The hotel staff were really friendly and very helpful. The food was really tasty and the helpings were large 😊

The only fault was that they didn't provide room service

For whatever reason, we thought it had air conditioning. It was a hot time of year, and where our room was, we didn't get any wind through there, so it was difficult to sleep.

Beautiful location, comfortable rooms with friendly staff & great food.

Perhaps more staff at breakfast time.

Hotel is gorgeous, room was lovely with sea view and balcony and very clean. Breakfast was fantastic. Very accessible to Killybegs town with shops and restaurants and the boat tours. We were booked on a boat tour on the Friday and it was right across the street. Pier Bar was also lovely, the barman was really nice and made us feel welcome.

No air conditioning in the room which made the room a bit uncomfortable during the night as it was very warm. Staff were pleasant but could have been a bit more welcoming at reception.

Jeg havde bestilt et luksus værelser med havudsigt og terrasse og det fik vi de havde dog glemt at skrive at vi skulle dele terrassen med 3 andre værelser det betød så at vi var nødt til at have trukket for Morgenmaden og personalet der var rigtig udemærket

Værelset var slidt og beskidt og virkede billigt med plastik vægge og gulv,der var ingen bløde klude som der er på de fleste hoteller her måtte man bruge toiletpapir hvis man skulle pudse næse Vi spiste 2 aftner i restauranten og første aften var egentlig ok Aften 2 var en fuser vi fik et bord med udsigt fra den ene side af bordet jeg bad om at få et andet bord fordi aircondition blæste lige ned på min ryg , tjeneren sagde at hun ville slukke så vi kunne blive siddende, det skete ikke og jeg måtte have fat i en anden tjener der fik slukket for aircondition i kort tid før den igen blev tændt, det var bare ikke i orden da jeg lige havde været syg og der i forvejen var meget koldt i restauranten

The total hotel experience, staff, restaurant, and bars were all fantastic. Excellent breakfast and dinner meals. Located on bus lines.

Brought my partner away for a night for his birthday and we had a lovely stay. Hotel is finished to a lovely high standard throughout. The pier bar was lovely and packed the evening we stayed, great craic in it. Staff were all lovely. Breakfast the next morning was very nice, however service was terribly slow. The three girls working were run ragged and found it hard to keep up. Perhaps we just hit a bad day, but I've worked in hotels for countless years and really felt for them. From sitting to leaving we were there nearly an hour and a half, which would be grand on a day we didn't have a tour booked. I would stay again, but shall make sure we are down before half nine for breakfast. A lovely hotel. Lovely that the bar was dog friendly, would love to bring my baby.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Tara Hotel in Killybegs and couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly, warm and welcoming. We were celebrating our mum’s 88th birthday, which made the visit particularly special, and the hotel went above and beyond. They surprised her with a beautiful dessert and a candle, and we all sang Happy Birthday to our mum. It was such a lovely, thoughtful gesture, and having us all there together celebrating her made it a very special memory for our family. We also had the pleasure of enjoying treatments in the beautiful new spa. We were lucky enough to have the half-price treatments, and the girls in the spa were absolutely amazing — so lovely, welcoming and professional. It was a wonderful experience and a real treat. The food in the hotel was exceptional too. Everything was delicious, and the whole atmosphere made our stay even more enjoyable. We honestly couldn’t have chosen a nicer place to celebrate such an important birthday. The Tara Hotel has everything you could wish for — wonderful staff, beautiful surroundings, exceptional food and that lovely personal touch that makes you feel truly cared for. A huge thank you to everyone at the Tara Hotel for making our mum’s 88th birthday so memorable. We will have such lovely memories of our time there and would highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Donegal. We can’t wait to return! ❤️

Fabulous stay at the Tara Hotel in Killybegs Staff are lovely Christine on reception could not have been more helpful We all had treatments in the beautiful spa that were the best we have ever had my therapist was Catriona so professional and expert in her treatments I had hot stone treatment and a facial both amazing Ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious We will definitely return thank you to all the lovely staff

Hadn’t been to the Tara in six years for food after a bad experience a long while ago and was continuously recommended by local friends to revisit - The food was Excellent! The service was also excellent and the decor wow - I couldn’t believe how much had changed, the gorgeous layout of the downstairs bar and upstairs restaurant of course. Staff were friendly and eager to assist but the star of the show was the food, the fish & chips was so fresh and a generous size portion. I got the fish tacos and cannot wait to return in august. I will highly recommend to all friends and family

As always at Tara ....**Never disappointed and always full** Our boys insisting on getting the kids pasta two days in the row. I loved the idea as I got to try the pastrami sandwich and believe me so should you 😀 perfect with truffle fries. And the pasta portions are generous so I got to try those to 😉....

A good pub with an excellent pint of Guinness. A great atmosphere and lovely views in the village!

Staff were amazing and very helpful, facilities where amazing.

To be honest we where very happy with the Tara suit room, and everything else.

The hotel has been refurbished to a nice standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is really good The breakfast is cooked foryou personally a good choice too. We had dinner on the first night and it was delicious so good chef. It was in walking distance of everything in Killybegs.

Little things that could be put right easily. The toilet seat was too small for the toilet and it kept moving our safe did not work either.

I booked into the Tara Hotel at the last minute as I had business in the area that required me staying over the weekend. I had a great stay.The room was spacious,comfortable and modern.Staff at reception were friendly. The breakfast was tasty(and what a treat it is to be served rather than the usual buffet) with lovely views of the harbour. The price was reasonable unlike many hotels which price themselves out of range. I don't normally leave reviews but I think this little gem needs to be acknowledged.

If you are looking for a place with exceptional service and a wonderful vibe, this is it. The staff truly went above and beyond; they were incredibly welcoming and unbelievably helpful throughout our entire stay. It felt like they genuinely cared about making our experience perfect. The atmosphere of the hotel is so nice—warm, inviting, and perfectly balanced. The highlight for us was the dining experience; every meal we had was amazing. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a flawless getaway!"

Was in the area and decided to stop here for some food, and it was a great decision! The chef Paul is doing an amazing job running the kitchen in the Hotel! Can I say the food was by far above and beyond Michelin quality of excellent! Really loved the atmosphere and the staff were phenomenal on the day especially Kevin and Erin! Definitely will be back visiting the Tara Hotel again, and keep up the amazing work Paul! 10 stars throughout 🌟😊

Absolutely everything, welcoming staff, beautiful from the second you pull up outside, lots of services and a beautiful tidy room with everything you need. Can't wait to book again. The bed was so comfy too we almost slept past check-out.

A little piece of heaven in Southwest Donegal. I had the most wonderful experience in the luxurious surroundings of the Atlantis Spa in the Tara Hotel in Killybegs yesterday. The therapist was amazing and the facilities were top class. The Infrared Sauna , Steam Room and Hot Tub meant that relaxation was complete. I really enjoyed the Afternoon Tea as part of my treatment. Thank you so much to all the staff at the Tara hotel .

We had a wonderful stay. We had a warm welcome from the front desk. She gave us great information about the area. The room was well appointed and clean.

The room was warm and not much air flow.

Centrally located and very clean hotel. The receptionist very kindly allowed us to park our motorcycle just outside the reception window. Beautiful view of the harbor from our room.

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent and served quickly, however no waiting staff came to us after that. After 40 minutes a waiter in passing collected our empty plates but never asked if we wanted any dessert or tea or coffee. This was quite disappointing.
