This was my first time stay in Amaris. After 3 hours driving from balikpapan to samarinda, the receptionist says that our room wasn’t ready yet even though we had ordered the day before. First impression of the room, square one. Air conditioner needs time. No shower curtain. Sandals only one for both of us. And nothing special of the breakfast. I hope there’s an improvement for the guest.

This hotel is absolutely messed up, there was no shower curtain in the shower!!!! After calling front office still had to wait forever for the staff to come and install shower curtain in the shower. Unfathomable absurdity !!

Pengalaman 2 malam menginap di Amaris cukup nyaman, dekat dengan daerah strategis. Hanya perlu variasi dari sarapan pagi.

Cheap Budget hotel. Room was small and not many amenities.

This is the first time also to stay in this hotel First impress was for the room, A Square one, Oh ya i got an experience also when was enter the door, there was no one there to help to open the door because i carried with my luggage so it was quiet difficult for me But i do like the food in breakfast

I honestly was a bit disapointed with what the hotel offered at IDR 490k. This was the first time I stayed at Amaris. I wondered if it is standard service for Amaris not to include toiletteries at that rate, but I have no time to ask since I have to leave immediately, got back to the hotel late at night, straight to the bed. Lucky I got my own toothbrush and toothpaste with me so I did not bother asking. The variety of breakfast menu was too humble. The cleanliness was great though..

This is a hotel where i frequently stay if i visit Samarinda

Room rate around IDR 470.000 / night for standard room and clean. Breakfast menu and hotel facility very standard. No hairdryer inside small bathroom. Overall meet requirement as budget hotel in samarinda.

The hotel was quite good for the amount of money I spent. I spent a night in the hotel for business purposes. Most of the things are the same as other's Amaris Group standard, but the bathroom is rather dirty. There wasn't a lot of nice view outside too. The breakfast is quite good. Overall, I am quite pleased.

If you need a simple and comfortable hotel. Then i really recommended to chose this hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean with standing shower bathroom. There is a Wifi for the guest also. The hotel already provide the hot/cold water dispenser in the hallway. And serve free flow welcome drink at lobby. The staff is good, friendly, helpful. Breakfast not much menu, please making improvement with taste and others. I wanted to pass along my thanks to frontdesk staff named Lusi. She has had amazing effort in sending my ID card when I left it in the room after the checkout. Overall it was good place to stay.

The room is so small, the bathroom is narrow. Not so cozy. But it's okay 'cause its located near the city center, near a mall and surrounded by food stalls. We can stroll around by walking or get a public vehicle.

When i visited samarinda , amaris hotel has just opened there . I choose this because the price is same with average 2 star hotel , but the hotel is freshly built and location is near to mall and restaurant . The room is small, wifi is poor , nothing special with the breakfast . But this budget hotel is recommended because of the location ...

when I booked this hotel for vacation 2 days only. even I live in Samarinda too. This hotel is very strategic location close to the city center, access to everywhere else easy. The Clean room, nice decorated of minimalis, feeling cozy and have a good wifi in room. I think the price per-night is affordable. Its great to stay here. The staff serving with friendly and have a great service. Get your experince for stay here.

Room and cleanliness was at very good condition, great location. However, check in & out process might take a while as only 1 staff in the reception.

I stayed there more than once, almost once a week this month. Room service is good with sufficient amount of food options from the restaurant. Bathroom is clean and they even gone the extra mile by recently providing organic-based tooth paste. The soap and shampoo solutions are mounted on the wall near the shower, and at the sink you have to extend your arm to reach, but it is much easier than having to deal with only one small soap near the sink. Breakfast is neat for a local, but not many options for a foreigner. However, a staff is available always to prepare omelet. Also they have some jam and toast. In addition, there is hot and cold water, tea, coffee and creamer, which sums up my breakfast there. Best of all the reception staff; very helpful. It is almost one of few hotels that does the paper work for you and when I came the following time they recognized me directly and I was in the room within few minutes. They also care to help with any thing you ask. The room is quite standard and is surprisingly quiet. I really enjoyed sleeping there. The bed is comfy, but nothing fancy. The room not having a mini fridge is a setback, but not a deal breaker. There is a sufficiently sized desk and a wall mounted LCD TV.

Cheap and good value for money. No frills, but if its only room to sleep your after this is more than a comfy place to stay. The receptionist could have been more friendly though..

Pengalaman pertama di Amaris Samarinda, check in jam 2 siang ketika kami datang jam 2 lewat kamar belum siap, jadi menunggu sekitar setengah jam. Resepsionis kurang ramah,pelit senyum,kaku. kamar sangat kecil,ya untuk sekedar tidur aja ga masalah. Secara keseluruhan fasilitasnya sedang aja, tinggal resepsionis aja yang sekiranya ga pas untuk duduk di posisi front office mending diganti aja dengan yg sabar,ramah jd kesan prtama yang didapat adalah ini hotel yang ramah.,..bukan sebaliknya

Hotel ini kurang perawatan, kamarnya berdebu, sprei kelihatan bekas dipakai tamu lain. Tidak ada pilihan makanan untuk makan malam. Pelayanan kurang memuaskan.

I stay 3 night at this hotel for business. Clean room, cozy bathroom. But too little bathroom. I like a bed a my room, very comfortable. Good staff. A price is good for business leisure. Location in center of samarinda.

I have never been stayed in Samarinda even though its my 4th trip there, i've always been stay in Balikpapan. When i heard about Amaris opening there, ok lah lets give it a try. For location, i think its not very central, its hard to find food around. Service is ok, i think all the staff willing to give their best. Room is a basic "kost kostan" type, they give very poor amenities and room size is small, even smaller than my studio apartement in Jakarta, but i think its normal for an express hotel, but compare with the price its not normal. Breakfast, there nothing fancy about it, just enough for energize my morning. Bottom line, if I get lower rate maybe i will consider to stay again but not for IDR 400k or more.

Another business trip to Samarinda. Came the day after Indonesia's Independence Day Celebration and our usual hotels, the Aston Samarinda & Swiss-Bel Hotel were booked by local dignitaries who had come in to mark the celebration and was quite packed. Was lazy to move hotel and got our folks to book us here during the whole duration we were here Pros : (1) Rooms Were Clean This is my most basic and important requirement. Refer to attached photo for shots of the room. (2) New Property The hotel had just opened in June. So everything was new. (3) Very Reasonable Room Rates So the rates here were very reasonable , IDR400,000 before tax or just above SGD$40 / USD$35. More than half the price of the Aston or Swiss-Bel. But bear in mind these two are more upmarket properties. More on this later (4) Fastest Wi-Fi Thus Far in Samarinda Hotels Of all the 5 hotels I have stayed in Samarinda, this place has the fastest Wi-Fi so far. Even faster and more stable than the more pricey and upmarket Aston or Swiss-Bel. Wi-Fi is complimentary and you can sign in multiple devices. Cons : (1) The toilet is small The toilet is small and can prove to be challenging to move around inside. A bit of an inconvenience. Refer to attached photos (2) Rather Limited Breakfast Buffet Selection The breakfast spread is rather limited. There isn't a dedicated restaurant exactly, but is served in the space in front of the front desk at the lobby. The spread is limited to about half a dozen local items and some breads and an egg station. Not a big deal if you do not mind local food. Points of Contention / Debatable : (1) Location Technically the hotel is in the geographical centre of the city. However many business are located nearer the bank of the River Mahakam. Not much of a hassle if you have a driver at your disposal, which was the case for me. Also unlike Aston or Swiss-Bel which is located right next to Samarinda Central Plaza (SCP), the largest mall currently in Samarinda. The nearest mall if you need one is Mall Lembuswana which is a short 5-minutes stroll from the hotel. So it depends your purpose here. Refer to photo titled "Map of Area", it is a cute area map by the hotel at the lobby. (2) This is Not an Up Market Property but a Basic Business Hotel So basically most of the guest here while I stayed and from what I hear from my local partners are here for business. The property is not an up market one versus the Aston and Swiss-Bel. It does not pretend to be and if you need the frills of a pool, gym, hotel bar/longue, extensive room service menu, and so forth. This might not be the place for you Conclusion : The rooms are clean and I am here on business always and hardly in the room much beyond it being a place to sleep at night. Seldom use any of the amenities at any other property anyway. Hence just based on the rates and fast Wi-Fi alone, I would not mind staying here again. But if you do need the frills, this might not be the place for you

Purely a business class hotel. Rooms are clean. Wifi facility is good. Need to have laundry facility. Need to increase some room facility. The variety in Breakfast is very minimum. Overall a good experience.

In the busy city of Samarinda this hotel just started this July. Friendly staff, not everybody is fluent in English, but the friendly manager is interested and he speaks English. Good breakfast buffet, nice clean rooms. No alcohol, so we went to the Aston Hotel to have a beer. We made a very interesting boattrip (no guide) to Muara Muntai and Macong, using the information in our guidebook. The capacity from desk to provide tourist information is limited.

Stayed at Amaris Samarinda during their opening week. We've been to 2 or 3 other Amaris hotels in Jakarta, and this one is easily the nicest looking one. Bright, spacious with a pleasing modern look. The room was clean and comfortable, the bedding was plush, the aircon was cold, and the hot shower was decent. Wifi signal in the room was strong and the connection speed was surprisingly not too bad. Breakfast was the standard, simple Amaris fare. The location is pretty central, near two major malls. Parking spots were plentiful. All in all, good value for money.
