Sandton Sun & Towers

Very nice property. The room was big and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. Location was excellent.

1. Our room door lock bolt was broken - door had multiple holes for the latch- indicating that somebody had tried to fix it before. After a couple of tries, the latch broke. 2. The hotel does not offer complimentary snacks with drinks. 3. Ordered a tea pot and English breakfast teabags since the teabags were missing in the collection period. I usually drink in which breakfast tea in the morning and even though I requested teapot and teabag to be delivered around 11 PM, the night before they were not. 4. Rooms felt smaller ! Good parts: Great gum and great location next to shopping center.

It was wonderful! Room was beautiful and clean, very convenient location and wonderful staff. Breakfast was wonderful too.

It is in a very safe and convenient location. A major shopping center is right next door. The staff are incredible and the facilities are good and well maintained. Meals are great too and they have a nice lounge and bar near the pool side that gets quite busy

Hotel is amazing and has finest interior design. It is super clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It is connected to Sandton City via Skywalk and very convenient and easy to access the shops.

First time staying at the hotel (although have been to the bar and restaurant many times before), and definitely the most convenient location in Sandton. The renovations have been fantastic, and have really modernized the hotel. The breakfast spread is amazing, and generally it is everything one expects from a hotel of this nature.

In Sandton city

Hotel was rather busy when we arrived and the entrance was chaotic but all the staff were very charming, efficient, welcoming and warm. Our room was spacious and clean. Service was great from all staff members at breakfast and in the bar in the evening. We had a great stay and would certainly return.

The rooms are old

This is what a 5 star hotel should be. Nothing is too much trouble, assistance and service on hand at every turn. We have stayed at other supposedly 5 star establishments but the Sandton Sun eclipses them all. Friendly knowledgable staff and superb facilities throughout. Some of the fittings are clearly quite old, hence my 4 star for that section but it has no impact on the functionality. What makes this hotel so special is the quality of the staff. They are clearly paid well and have a grace and genuine will to help.

Thankyou to all the staff for making our stay very memorable. Your service and hospitality is world class 👏 From reception, housekeeping , parking valet , breakfast staff - all superb. This will be our place to stay when we return to south africa. The rooms were super comfortable and so luxurious, and the ambience of the hotel very unique.

The old dame of.Sandton has had a good face lift. Sadly like Johannesburg in general the area is on the down.

Sandton Sun staff were friendly and helpful - this is big improvement from previous visits. They didn't make it look like it was a chore to be of service. Well done to management. What I didn't like: I ordered sole for dinner under room service and it was not hot or well cooked. Even the mash was cold... Other than that, it is a great hotel.

I had such an amazing time here. Thank you to all the friendly staff. Nothing was too much effort. I felt so welcome and pampered! The food was outstanding. Everything was a level up from what you'd expect of excellent. I am really grateful and will be staying here again on my next trip to Jhb.

I stay in a number of hotels around Mandela Square before but no one comes close to the value for money of the Sandton Sun.

The property was good, but the booking experience was poor, I had to pay an extra charge to relocate from the towers, which are different from the Sandton Sun Hotel that I expected as per my booking.

This hotel is aspiring to be upscale, and does so with it's service, but the actual facility is practically falling apart. The hotel room door would not lock, the drain in the shower was clogged, we only intermittently got hot water. The bed was very comfortable and the place was clean.

We enjoyed a lovely stay. Clean, comfortable room that contained everything we needed. Beautiful view over the swimming pool with a gym that we could visit even late at night. Rooms were serviced by well-trained staff. Thank you we loved our stay

The room was amazing. However the responsiveness of front desk was not professional. I requested for a technician to fix an issue with the TV, no one came until I called again the next day. I also requested a shuttle or transport to the airport and the gentleman at the front desk was not so pleasant and so wasn’t surprised the next morning when in fact there was no booking made. Not sure if he judged me as someone not fit for the hotel or not but definitely I am not amused . That being said , the gentleman who welcomed me on my arrival was very pleasant and professional.

Old rooms, AC not working- this is the Sandton towers side, maybe other building is more up to date

Excellent hotel with super helpful staff attached to a high end shopping mall. I would highly recommend this hotel. Just be aware that there are two separate hotels connected with an overhead walk way. Our cab dropped us off at the Sun and we were staying at the Towers. The staffs at both hotels took car3e of moving our luggage and guiding us to the correct hotel.

Great experience all round. Very well run establishment. Great hosts and excellent value for money. room well equipped with everything form a proper coffee machine to lindt chocolates. breakfast was perfectly prepped and served by an extremely well trained waitron team. front desk gents were helpful and tended to every need from parking requests to extended stay. will definately return.

Excellent location for Sandton City and walkable distance to Gautrain. Hotel staff are very pleasant and all areas very clean. Unfortunately the hotel is tired and the aircon in the bedroom very loud despite maintenance efforts (twice) to fix it. Breakfast very good and plenty of variety but service slow. Minor issues which would not prohibit me from staying again.

First timer! Stayed for 9 days. Staff and service was excellent. Loves they had breakfast daily with your stay. Rooms were a decent size wished they had microwaves in rooms or on ground to use. Hotel connected to mall, Woolworth’s has all essential needs.

I was part of a group who ended up staying at 5 different hotels in Johannesburg. They all had negative experiences. Mine at this hotel was excellent. Oh... Don't miss their breakfast. It is GOOD!

I have never stayed in a hotel that every box was checked excellent. The ladies in the restaurant were amazing to see every time I visited, housecleaning was first class, the desk people at reception from the time I arrived to the hotel until the time I checked out were first class. I have traveled to more than 100 countries and have never encountered this level of excellence. Our company will use this hotel for all of our teams traveling to this area. The last comment is the manager was engaged. He was making sure his customers were satisfied and was very pleasant to work with.

Shopping facilities are great. Staff is very attentive. Cleaning could be improved.

Air condition in the room did not work. Maintenance didn’t bother to come and fix…barely slept.

I have stayed there 3 times so I recommended it to my husband . The services were terrible especially @ reception . You call, no one answers the phone and they don’t I got the same experience when I stayed there in November

Phone charging/ plug inlets need repair

Moved me to different adjacent property as they were overbooked…..repeatedly telling me I had booked that particular hotel. Property was old, in need of renovation, poor service. Insisted I pay cash for room service, and could not charge to my room.

The food was very good and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

the property is good and staff are great but there is this silliness of booking three adults becomes 2 adults with 1 kid as a result you get this family room on the 10th floor right above their deck restaurant and each night there is booming music ... we did not sleep at all for the entire stay .. Beds are tooo small and two people cannot share easily, pillows are old and tired and soooooo uncomfortable All in all the place is nice if you dont want to sleep

I called in advance requesting a room with two queens got there and it was just not done totally ruined my 40th birthday

I liked the convenient location next to the mall. We had a great time moving back and forth enjoying the shopping, visiting the sites and swimming in the pool. The best thing about the property are the people who work there. They are helpful and work hard to make your stay pleasant. The wait people in the restaurants are fabulous. I highly recommend this hotel for weekend visits or for conferences.

The hotel is in a really fancy shopping and high end apartment area. Every thing is enclosed with guards to access luxery shopping. Good restaurants and excellent staff services.

This hotel has come a long way since covid. We stayed here during covid and again now after 2 years and we were extremely impressed all round. Service is 10/10, so is the food quality and variety. Enjoyed breakfast daily and everyone who works here are pleasant and go out of their way with a smile to ensure your stay is pleasurable and you get what you want. Best location in all of Sandton, simply stroll into Sandton City!
