Morgans Hotel

We were in Alpha, one of their Town House rooms. It was lovely & relaxing. My eggs benedict was freshly cooked and one if the best I have had. Perfect location to see a show that was 8 minutes walk away. Lovely staff.

Some might find the Town House/Georgian House concepts a little difficult, being set apart from the main building, but actually it's a lot of fun if you get into the spirit! Breakfast was first class - definitely one of the better options compared to what one can encounter elsewhere in other hotels. Great range of options and attentive staff. Plus a fantastic historical interior!

Potentially, getting to breakfast in the pouring rain from the Georgian House/Town House might be a tad difficult, but this was not encountered on my stay.

We love this hotel but we were disappointed that food isn’t served such as sandwiches. This can be off putting. I booked vacation a Booking.Com. It wasn’t clear that we were booking a town house room. Ideally we wanted to stay in the main hotel. This needs to be clear.

The bed was large and very comfy, good size room. Bathroom included toiletry items. Staff were friendly.

Only one hard wood chair in the room. Would expect at least one (preferably two) comfy' armchair(s) in a room to sleep two. Assorted coffee and tea offering only included two standard breakfast tea teabags so disappointed with that. Only stopped for one night so did not request more. Carpet had a few bits of fluff and dirt on it.

It’s an amazing Hotel full of character and style, staff are outstanding and couldn’t do enough especially Hayley and Carys, see you again soon!

Character and quality of service

It was mine and my boyfriends first time going away together, to celebrate our one year anniversary! Staff were so lovely and helpful and the location was perfect. The room was very clean and really nice. I’d recommend anyone to go here. We will definitely be coming back in the future !

Although the room was quiet, it was up a flight to stairs once you’ve got into the room door (Aventis ) which made me worry a little bit about fire risk and that room was a little bit on the stuffy side and some of the floor corners were dusty. I wouldn’t rush back for the same room even though the furniture and the layout was nice, it was just a bit too airless and with only one Window I did have a slight worry in the event of a fire even though a fire was unlikely to happen!

The Darwin room needs an easy chair or similar. There is plenty of space. Only chair is a hard chair at the dressing table. Not a major concern, just an even better if

Mold on window ledges, plumbing made awful noise when neighbour emptied their bath, water damage showing on celling and top of wall. And was kept up with the noise of slamming doors both nights we stayed - desperately needs soft close door closers.

I loved the hotel and the staff were incredible and so friendly and helpful. We couldn’t stay in the main hotel and had to stay in the townhouse which had lovely rooms but the entrance was like a hostel and had very strong air freshener which made you wonder what it was covering up! The breakfast was amazing and the bar served the best cocktails. It was an excellent stay and a lovely hotel. I just felt the townhouse let Morgan’s down. I would definitely stay again but in the main hotel and The beautiful red annex.

Having particularly booked up a room in the main building, we were surprised on check in to be allocated a room on the ground floor at the back of the hotel via an outside entrance across a courtyard ! No view apart from 3 large wheelie bins. Not my idea of a main building room. We complained and were given a proper room on the first floor and an upgrade on top of that. Excellent it was.

We stayed in the Cheriton room which was through the courtyard. Nice room, had to close the curtains as people were walking past the window on the street which made the room darker so had to keep the lights on. Nice little touches, coffee maker, biscuits and complimentary daily water. Lovely big bathroom, loved the shower, fluffy towels and dressing gowns. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. All members of staff were lovely and polite and went out of their way to make our stay accommodating. We will stay here again next time we come down but I think I will ask for a room upstairs.

First time staying in a room not in the hotel. It didn’t disappoint room was perfect

We had a room in the original building which was a good size as was the bathroom - but lacking any place to put toiletry bags, always a bugbear for me! Unfortunately our outlook was onto the back of a derelict /unoccupied building which was rather depressing. Although this old building has been renovated to a reasonable standard it was a shame the old sash windows had been painted shut, so we couldn’t open one and there appeared to be no extractor system in the bathroom so one cooler day bad condensation on windows throughout. Bed very comfortable, room spotless, breakfast had plenty of good choices, all staff pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our 4 nights here.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Everything was wonderful, from the lovely decor to the excellent service. A special mention must go to Hayley, who was incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel genuinely welcome. We were also so impressed by how friendly and welcoming all the staff were to our 9 year old daughter. They made her feel really special and included, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable for our family. A wonderful hotel with a genuinely lovely team. We would happily stay again and highly recommend it!

I’ve stayed at Morgans a few times now and I honestly love this hotel. Every time I come back, it’s just as good. It’s elegant and beautiful, but without ever feeling stuffy. It’s warm, friendly and has so much character. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Swansea, and the rooms are beautiful and really well appointed. I especially love that they’re all a little different, with their own character and charm, which fits perfectly with the townhouse feel of the hotel. Everyone here is lovely and genuinely goes out of their way to make sure you’re looked after. They were particularly wonderful to us earlier this year, and Hayley deserves a special mention. She took care of absolutely everything we could think of. She is always kind, funny and warm, and nothing ever seems too much trouble for her. She really is a credit to Morgans. The breakfast is delicious too! Another absolutely excellent stay. It’s one of those places that just gets everything right, and I genuinely can’t recommend Morgans and the people here enough. We will definitely be back.

Haley on reception was great.Otherwise the whole experience was dissapointing.

The room was tiny , the bathroom was almost as big. The breakfast was poor, a tiny piece of bacon, mushrooms were not cooked, made to look as if it had been freshly cooked where it clearly had not. The air con in the breakfast room was so cold we had to go and get a sweater and the food got cold quickly. The bar man was very unhelpful. I ordered a glass of wine and he insisted on pouring the dreggs of one bottle first which I refused . Told me I could not have a glass from a fresh bottle.

The location is good and the room was clean and spacious. Staff were very helpful. The decor, for us, did not match the style and grandeur of the building and we felt breakfast was below par.

Bed was comfortable, and my wife enjoyed the Welsh Rarebit breakfast special. Also the main building where we attended a wedding reception is beautiful.

Shower faulty, despite numerous attempts, we could only get scalding hot water. I had to wash my hair in the sink. We were in Osprey room in the annexe building where there was an awful smell outside the door.

Room was lovely, roomy, clean and comfortable. Instructions for safe should be left in the room. As it was I had to ask reception to come up and provide guidance. I have a measure of success when travelling anywhere and staying for Breakfast. 'How good is the Scrambled Eggs?' After extensively travelling all over the World for work and pleasure, I have to admit 'Morgans' won the worst Scrambled Egg ever to have been presented. It was swimming in fat, grey and a concealed mass of yuk, truly inedible. So much fat making the rest of the breakfast float. I complained to a waitress who agreed and came back with a fresh breakfast with lovely poached eggs. I commend you on dealing with the issue promptly, however it should never have left the kitchen. No outside space, except a few tables at the front

Unventilated room with the same air since 1903 - no air conditioning and impossible to open windows. View of loading dock across street. We asked for a restaurant reservation, which they gave us. Only when we went to eat dinner, we discovered they have no restaurant! There are plenty of decent hotels in Swansea, avoid this one.

We booked an impromptu Sunday night stay here so we could have a night by the sea. Morgan’s far exceeded our expectations…both in quality of the hotel and the service! From the moment we arrived, Rhys on reception took care of us. A fantastic welcome followed by a fantastic suite. Parking was easy, furnishings and food high quality and the location is great. Brilliant job Morgan’s team - we’ll definitely be back!

Quiet, spacious room with comfortable bed and lovely large bath.

The in-room coffee pod machine was way too complicated for us, also the shower head was some strange convoluted system which was rather awkward.

Prachtig historisch oud pand ( havenkantoor) met veel oude details. Zo zijn de kamers vernoemd naar schepen en hebben ze geen nummer. De ontbijtzaal is echt prachtig net als de bar op de begane grond. Het hotel zit op loopafstand van de haven waar veel restaurants en bars zijn. Met de fiets kan je een prachtige tocht maken langs het kilometerslange strand.

We were one of 2 couples, one stayed in this room which was lovely adjacent to main hotel. I stayed in a suite in the main hotel which was stunning High ceilings, air con, huge bed, beautiful architecture, individual styled rooms, beautiful bathroom and fridge - just a gorgeous hotel with exceptional character. Great parking and choice to pay for breakfast if required is a great option. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful.

Another great stay in Morgan’s Hotel; this time in the town house. Absolutely faultless, great staff, spotlessly clean room and splendid breakfast.

The staff were excellent, friendly yet professional and really helpful and considerate. The breakfast is delicious and the location is perfect for the city centre and the bay. The room was a good size with high ceilings, clean and air conditioned.

The location was amazing. Right in the heart of everything, but still quiet and peaceful. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere, everyone made me feel so comfortable. I travelled on my own and never felt awkward or out of place. The room in the main building was outstanding. Everything was perfect. The staff were friendly, helpful, kind and very professional. Breakfast was amazing, I ate like a queen. The building has beautiful architecture and decor. I honestly don't think this hotel could improve. Thanks for looking after me. I will be back!!

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Rhys at Reception was so helpful, bar staff outstanding and the ladies who served breakfast couldn’t have been more caring. Incredibly comfortable bed. For such a grand building, the hotel itself is very simple and it works that way.

probably one of the worst stays in a very long time. We stayed here last night, the hotel is in a good location and pretty well appointed. Could to with a bit of a refresh but really only in a small way. The room itself was large, well air conditioned and the bath room well equipped. The problems started as I went to bed. The room was next to a disabled toilet and a staff entrance to the bar. there was a good amount of noise during the night and the bed had seen better days. The air con was under the bed itself which created a lot of additional noise. Breakfast however was just a train wreck. we went in shortly after service opened, firstly you MUST remember your room name, we didn't and that was a whole thing, resulting in my colleague having to go back to his room to check! We waited some time to order and then simply sat.... and sat. The poor waitress tried her best to manage the situation by coming to us and apologising that the food was late. Telling us it would arrive in 5 minutes... it didn't. In all breakfast finally arrived just under an hour after we sat down. When it arrived it was really pretty poor (I say this as an ex breakfast chef myself). But the icing on the cake was the check out. this was really a shock. We explained the frustration about the delays and the person on checkout said " I checked the system and it was 9 minutes from the ticket being raised to breakfast being delivered". This, of course, insinuates that the waitress was lying when she said we would have our food in 5 minutes. When we said we had waited longer, he then said they would check the cameras.... CHECK THE CAMERAS!!!??? is it a police state??? I mean, I genuinely don't have a response to that... ESPECIALLY AT £330 A NIGHT!!!! As we were trying to discuss it with the "checkout control officer", he basically argued with every point we made, so we just gave up and left. This hotel relies heavily on technology, so much so, that seemingly, they have forgotten who pays for it. If you stay here and you are asked how the stay was, just "mumble" and leave. We just saved you 15 minutes of your life ;-) honestly, its a joke. being told that staff will "check the cameras" when we complained about the delay for breakfast is simply a unique approach to customer service!! As we race to the border, we wonder how the towel police act? Hopefully we will be in another country when they find that I didn't neatly fold them and place them back on the towel rail in size order!! Do they have cameras in my room???!!! for all I know they are reviewing the CCTV, I'm so glad I made up my address on the check in form.

Both the sink and the bath/shower had faulty plugs so one had to use ones fingernails to pry out the stopper to allow water to flow down plughole!

Buildings, location, decor, comfort, toiletries, staff, value for money ( exceptional with discount) - all excellent.

I could not get the coffee maker to work and there was no instant coffee or hot chocolate in the welcome pack as an alternative. The room was slightly dark with the curtains closed - which was necessary for privacy, being on the ground floor. My husband was disappointed there is no longer a restaurant on site.

Everything, maybe breakfast should be included in the price tho

Bar drinks expensive

Stayed at the Georgian as we were completing a walk for Macmillan Cancer Trust. Loved the hotel ambience, the friendliness , the rooms, the lovely good quality robes and towels in the rooms and the food. The bar area was also such a lovely setting to sit with a cocktail. Loved it so much that we have booked again. Thanks to the lovely Hayley and Laura for helping our group re book and for their fantastic care and service

Beautiful hotel , this was our second visit, we have stayed in the Topaz and last night the Zeta, both Beautiful rooms, the bath in the Topaz is huge , .All the staff were welcoming and very pleasant even put balloons in our room as it was hubby's birthday. Can't wait to go back for a longer stay.

The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day exploring the city. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, providing excellent customer service throughout my stay. The hotel's location is ideal, within easy walking distance of the marina, city centre, shops, and restaurants, making it a fantastic base for visiting Swansea. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was warm and inviting. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend Morgan's Hotel to anyone looking for a stylish and comfortable place to stay in Swansea.

The location was good for Swansea city centre.

It is unavoidable with a property like this, but the breakfast room was very loud… the sound echos off all surfaces….. but still a nice period room. Apart from that. All was good.

Fantastic hotel and super service both at check-in and at the bar. Only issue was there was no restaurant to have dinner. We had to try to find somewhere outside and didn't plan to. Breakfast was great.

Full of kids drinking on a prom spilling drinks all over the lounge floor swearing and taking. Drugs in toilets also so drunk they were nearly falling over

Morgans Hotel has become our second home. Every time we decide to visit we'll only book this hotel. Not only is the hotel is luxurious in itself but the Staff are so welcoming and so very nice. We've stayed in every part of Morgans from the main hotel, the townhouses and the Georgian House and they're all wonderful in their own way but the main hotel will always be our favourite. The hotel is very near to the town and the marina which is great for us as we spend a lot of time around the Marina. The breakfast at Morgans is absolutely amazing too. The menu is extensive with lots of hot food options and lots of cold options also. I also love the waiter service part of brekfast which is a lovely touch. Parking is also included in the main hotel for 24hrs after you check in which we find super useful as we don't like rushing home after check in. I would not hesitate to stay here as you will not be disappointed. We don't like staying anywhere else.😁

This weekend we had our wedding at Morgan’s Hotel and we couldn’t be happier. Our wedding included 2 night stay for us, many of our wedding party, the ceremony, wedding breakfast & after party and the whole team at Morgan’s delivered absolutely everything for us 10/10. Nothing was too much to ask. Whenever we asked for was done within minutes and the whole day went without any issues whatsoever. The staff on our wedding bar that night were fantastic, great fun & amazing service. A special mention to Rachel & Sophie in events. These two gorgeous ladies are a huge asset to the hotel. They not only planned and hosted our whole wedding but they also had other events on that day that they were managing. We are so grateful and now Morgan’s will always be special to our family. We can’t wait to keep returning with happy memories of our wedding day. Thank you all!!

The hotel , staff and amenities were fabulous . The reason for the stay was a discreet family occasion . However when the staff became aware , an upgrade of the room was a wonderful and unexpected bonus . Needless to say the happy couple were blown away by the gesture . I cannot rate the welcome and service you receive highly enough ! If you travel to Swansea and you want a genuinely memorable and wonderful experience this is the hotel for you !

A beautiful characterful boutique hotel. Very comfortable bed. Smart tv, dressing gowns, and a complimentary box of chocolates as we were celebrating a birthday. We enjoyed coffee and cake in the bar before checking in, delicious and excellent service. All fantastic, would definitely recommend 👌

A very well decorated, hotel, if I'm being really picky, there are some signs of wear. But in all, its delightful.

Stayed in the townhouse section, in the Darwin Room. Lovely large room, great bathroom including bath and shower. We were really well placed for a walk into town via Wind Street and the location itself is nice and quiet. Only notes I would pass onto the hotel are that the shower head system and the coffee machine are rather over-complicated, plus a few more side lights in this room would be very useful as it is a bit dark. Otherwise really happy with our stay.

We were in Cambala room had a lovely Sunday evening stay with a great breakfast loads to chose from we love Morgan’s had our wedding reception here 11yrs ago since then celebrated my mum’s 80th and other special occasions Staff very friendly professional and always willing to help Will def be back
