Perfect location, close to Swansea University Bay campus as well as not being far from Swansea city centre. Restaurant and Starbucks in the hotel. Also had a gym, pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna. We had a king room which was clean and comfortable. The bed itself had a mattress topper for added comfort. Room was large enough with a couch.
We decided to use the pool/sauna/steam room about 5 pm on a Thursday and it was very crowded. We weren't able to enjoy the hot tub as too many people waiting to get in. The steam room and sauna were over crowded with what seemed to be locals who had used the gym prior to pool use. Saying that if you go during the day it might be less crowded?!
The hotel had everything we required for our stay.
Nothing to dislike about this hotel.
Clean, and working air conditioning for a great night sleep
Great location, great facilities, breakfast was delicious. Swimming pool area was fun. Room was clean, had all the facilities that we needed.
Aircon in the meeting room, 1st night it was cold in the room, the next evening it was too hot and the staff couldnt change it, needed to be done by an engineer. It was also very cold in the Starbucks.
Location fab friendly helpful staff
Air conditioning did not work
It was boiling hot and the air con was not working at all. Fan provided was useless
Great breakfast, friendly staff
There was a fire alarm and no information given
Air con not working Rooms like a oven Ruined stay
Breakfast was good, the jacuzzi and steam was good, staff friendly and helpful.
Sauna poor shape, very male dominated facility, lots of shouting from rowdy guests until early hours
I thought the loc
Good location in relation to the rest of the city and the in built bar/starbucks was a great addition
One lift was a bit of an inconvenience at busy times.
every thing was good
there was no fridge at room.
To noisy has turned into a noisy pub not a hotel Choice of food more of a takeaway burger and chips Sorry has gone down hill
Room was lovely, sea view and large comfortable beds, staff very helpful
Pub downstairs is probably not my first choice of dinning but there are plenty nearby options for different tastes
good location for main city centre
charging for using pool, parking and any other extra when on booking.com it looks like all the amenties come with it for free since i paid almost 500 pounds for 2 nights
On arrival we were informed that the air con in the bedrooms was not working. the temperature even at night was very high and the room was very uncomfortable
Location is good, pub and starbucks on the ground floor, gym and pool.
Room was boiling hot. Literally. Not even a warning before you book or check in. Can open the window a tiny tiny bit and there’s a fan but mid-day i felt like being roasted.
Room freebies
Check in took ages as your system crashed
The property was nice, only chose the village for the swimming pool paid £5 on arrival to use and the pool was closed all of the sys we were there.
Was very disappointed with our stay as chose the village to use the facilities, pool was closed, hot tub an sauna were packed so unable to use which was very disappointing as it was a birthday treat.
I was disappointed with our stay, especially as a family with children. 1. The air conditioning in our family room was not working. We asked to move to another family room. After a lengthy discussion, the hotel eventually agreed to change our room. However, the replacement room had only one bed and one sofa bed for four people, which made sleeping very uncomfortable. 2. Pool access is not included with standard rooms. Unless you book a Club Room, you have to pay extra to use the swimming pool. However, children are not allowed in the Club Rooms, so families should be aware that pool access may mean an additional charge. 3. There was also confusion regarding breakfast and the Booking.com price. When I originally selected one family room plus one adult room on Booking.com, the total was around £556. I then selected what I believed was the option including breakfast, and the total increased to around £636. At the hotel, however, I was told breakfast was not included and that I would need to pay separately. I later checked with Booking.com, who also confirmed that breakfast was not included. Unfortunately, I did not take a screenshot of the booking page, so I cannot say whether this was an issue with the hotel or Booking.com. My advice would be to double-check exactly what is included and take screenshots before completing the booking, particularly if you are paying extra for breakfast.
The air conditioning didn't work, it was mid summer and roasting hot. I had to jump through hoops and lots of back and forth in order to get a refund from booking.com
Had EV charging facility, good breakfast and pool facilities.
Air conditioning not working for months and we were not told about it before check in.
Pool and food
Very hot rooms
breakfast OK, room clean and ok
i should have room with fridge.
The restaurant staff was wonderful . They accommodated our large family group and made the evening special.
The air conditioning was broken only on our floor. We arrived early in the week before the air show and were not offered a differen room. They still Charged for parking and seemed to think this was okay . No compensation!
Good
The hotel knew that the air-conditioning wasn't working, yet collected room money and put us in the most horrible situation, sweating all night with family and no sleep on the hottest night in Swansea. This is very outrageous and outright disingenuous.
Staff friendly room superb
Honestly, over the days I’ve spent there over the past few weeks nothing. Shame I couldn’t get special deals to stay a month
Friendly staff Great facilities Great Starbucks Very clean
Lift not working when I got there, and I was on the top floor
We have been going there for years ,
Location
They charged me for the car park which was not advertised when I booked it
The beds
1. No air conditioning in the room. It was so hot we couldn't sleep. 2. Kids not allowed in the pool after 5pm, not even when accompanied by their parents! 3. Breakfast closes way to early at 9am. We arrived at breakfast at 09:10 to be bluntly told breakfast closed at 9am. We were not even allowed an orange juice. Terrible attitude by the breakfast staff and reception!
The location was excellent, within walking distance of waterfront, restaurants and shops.
Breakfast times finished too early, when you are on holiday you need to relax not have to rush to breakfast. On the second day we requested room refresh, but all that was done was fresh towels left, bed not touched cups and glasses not washed .
Size of the room especially the bed and shower. The facilities in the gym and the swimming pool were great and the bar area was lovely. Staff were all lovely.
Lots of stains on the carpet in the room looked like vomit. No air conditioning. No telephones to call down to reception. No room service. Television kept losing connection of signal so not able to watch consistently or comfortably.
Very good location and amazing sauna
Requested twin room with separate beds, unfortunately there was one double bed with one double duvet
Everything
Nothing
Tolles, sehr modernes Hotel in toller Lage.
Friendly staff, comfortable room, good choice of beers in the bar. Lovely breakfast. Good atmosphere
The hotel was great big room, well laid out
AC wasn't working. The entire wing had issues. And it was hot
breakfast was awful, staff not very helpful
nothing
Great location
Everything was really good no bad words here
My only discomfort was that a fitness session commenced at 6.30am in the gym/studio and the music was so loud it woke me a d probably other guests.
The pool and sauna were a bonus. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect
Leaving the hotel
Where do I start. Room dirty, holes in the towels. Hot water lasted for 5 minutes then went cold. Very very noisy with passing foot traffic.. Door to the hotel room did not close properly and the door would not lock, had to put the chain across for an added bit of security. No other rooms available so was not able to change. Awful experience. My advice would be to stay at a travel lodge or something similar.
The hotel layout bar and breakfast facilities were all adequate
The AC was not working in the room. Given I had booked this room and it did say it had AC i was very disappointed. I did not have a comfortable night sleep either night and was not given any other options to move room when i enquired. I have stayed in this hotel several times before and have never had any issue. I will certainly be looking at other options for my visit to Swansea later in the year.
The staff were great and there was a nice buzz about the place.
It was quite expensive with hidden extras to pay for like the use of the swimming pool and parking. They weren’t much but just a bit annoying.
Great location, I had a Club room which had a sea view! It was gorgeous.
Location Pool Gym Bar& grill for football viewing aswell as socialising
AC not working.warned too late fans given but hottest week.hence's a big struggle. If hotel garden is few days notice would have booked another hotel. We were informed enroute to swansea 3 hrs before chevk in.no accommodation available due yo graduation week in uni Room service did not attend.
Facilities
Location
Spacious room and location was good.
Air conditioning wasn't working in the room although the listing clearly says that the rooms are air conditioned. I spoke to the receptionist who was very rude and said that they will try to do a "reset" to make it work but it didn't work and he said nothing else he could do and that there were no other rooms to move us. Next day I spoke to another receptionist who said that air conditioning isn't working in most of the hotel due to a wider technical issue! So obviously, the other receptionist was lying to us about a "reset".
Great bar
Reception staff couldn’t book me a room when booking.com messed up
Location
Bad parking by some visitors … one car, two spaces
Swimming pool gym sports bar was great rooms was clean
The 3rd floor had no working air con in the middle of a heat wave the room was like a sauna hardly slept a wink in my 3 nights stay
Liked the location and facilities
Very unclean due to customers leaving rubbish everywhere and it not being cleaned No hanging hooks in bathroom Very cheap toilet paper- horrible Two fights seen outside property Breakfast until 9am week days is to early when your on holiday? Missed it as a result! Flickering box on wall - annoying at night
Excellent as was the dinner staff
Pay for parking pay for swimming Starbucks and pub on the ground floor
We were incredibly dissapointed with the rudeness of the front of house desk staff when we arrived. We were not aware of an early check in availability when we had a call 3 days prior to our arrival. We were met with hostility and outright rudeness. Very disappointing.
I want a full refund, the air conditioning was broken and it was 27 degrees in our room..
Large comfortable room, well kitted out. Handy location to walk into central Swansea
Breakfast was awful. Orange juice watered down so much it was undrinkable. Sausages and eggs pallid. Coffee and toast were the only really edible things.
Room and bedding could be cleaner - old blood on the sheets and un flushed tissue in the toilet.
Good location Very good amenities
Diring my visit the weather eas very hot. Unfortunetly the air conditioning had broken down. As a result my room on the 4th floor was unbearably hot. I was given a portable fan but the flex was very short and its benifit was limited as it didn’t reach the bed. As a result, I decided to curtail my visit and left after one night. I must add however, that the staff were very aplogetic, and on my return home i was contacted by the manager who offered me a partial refund, which I have accepted.
Location
Front facing room that was like an oven. No air con in the entirety of the hotel. There was a fan that did a poor job of circling the hot air
The hotel's air conditioning was not working, windows were unable to be opened fully due to restrictions- staff rude and were not sympathetic. No fridge in room to keep drinks and food cold.
Location great and room nice and big
Signs of animals been in the room - I have allergies to animals and signs of dog hairs - don’t think village inn allowed animals - next time I shall Make a request
Location was amazing for the Ironman
No air-conditioning in the room the breakfast was terrible. The food was overpriced in the bar drinks were overpriced in the bar.
Good clean, brilliant for what we were doing
Thank you the village hotel was awesome will stay again
Clean rooms
Strange location
Clean and generally comfortable hotel in convenient location (near marina bars and restaurants). Car park with EV. Dog free. Friendly staff and decent breakfast and bar.
Aircon not functioning and although there was a fan in our room, the room was unbearably hot. If it hadn’t been for that, I probably would have rated it slightly higher because overall, the hotel is fine. I would use again but preferably not in hot weather
Feels relaxed and so convenient for time in Swansea
N/A
Staff were friendly, good location, had everything we needed
Paid for an upgraded room which we were really happy with but the air con didn’t work so we then got moved to a different room which wasn’t as nice, didn’t have a sofa and had two beds pushed together
The staff were fantastic
Ned was too soft
Location was perfect
Parking
Great location, modern, friendly staff, comfortable spacious rooms
Beds very comfy great location to walk round harbour plenty restaurants
Sink was blocked which was fixed shower head did not work and don’t pay for breakfast
The swimming pool/ spa facilities were nice. The rooms were spacious. Staff were friendly.
So we stayed for 2 nights and did not get room service even once. I put out the make my room door tag when I headed out the first morning but when I came back the room was still a mess. Complained about it to staff and they said we need to leave the door tag the night before, even though no one else had it on when I was walking through. They did offer fresh towels but we were only there for 2 nights and was never told of this rule to leave out the door tag the night before. We were there for our anniversary, and I had requested for some decorations to be setup (at and extra charge which I was happy to pay) but when we got there, the room just had a card, no decorations. So again was quite disappointed.
Location was great
Every time a guest opened and closed their door my door rattled in the frame it was very annoying
Ligging
Geen handdoeken, geen cleaning kamer
Everything
Nothing
There was no fridge in the room
Location and Pool
Air conditioning had failed.
Pool was fantastic.
The room was lovely, spacious and clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
There was a few trays left on the landings with left over food/drink from other guests and the back my door was grubby.
Good facilities
Bedroom not cleaned for 3 days due to lack of staff, air conditioning not working
Nice big room, with good bathroom, comfortable big bed
The aircon wasnt working and we were in a heatwave. The windows only open a tiny bit, so it was extremely hot in my room.
When we arrived no one informed us about air-conditioning not working. I went downstairs to let them know. They told they had some issues on third floor and mechanics can't fix. Later I read reviews and apparently Aircon is not working on this floor since month. No one warned us. We waited for a fan few hours.
big car park and clean room, breakfast was ok lifts working all ways good when on the 5th floor, not much sound an good views from the top floor
coffee was very bad in the room was not good at all nor able to drink down stairs starbucks was not open and looked to be having a make over, was not made aware of this when booking
It was hottest day on June, Village hotel was what we needed, room was air conditioned and very comfortable. Slept like a baby 😜
Rooms were bit bare, no character!
Room very nice. Good location. Reasonably clean. Lovely friendly staff but the room had no air con and was sweltering all night. We were given a fan which improved things slightly.
No air con
Nice bar when entering the hotel . Room nice and clean bed comfy .
The staff wasnt that helpful. We came on Saturday for my bday and the air con wasnt working in our room . We asked if anything could of been done as it was so hot and they was not helpful . Thry gave my sister and her husband a spare fan but we wasnt even allowed to change rooms cause was non left . I thought £130 for a room with no air con and no help off the staff was alot of money to spend when your not given what you asked for .
Rooms were a great size, great location, walking distance into city centre.
Air Con was broken in our room, no attempt to move our room or try to resolve it
Room spotless. Everywhere was clean.staff friendly especially in the breakfast room nothing was too much trouble.overall a lovely experience.
There was nothing negative in our stay.
Staff
There was stains on the carpet a wonky chair and air con wasn’t working.
I didn't like anything nor the fact that they ripped me off and walking.com do not have a complaints telephone number
I would like to they said they had hair conditioning it was broke there was no apology known nothing when I was told to ring for a refund they fogged me off blaming go booking.com this is the worst group of hotels I have ever seen to their customers and it just wasn't me the full of the hotel was complaining everybody
Awful
Room was fab and the hotel was great.
The air con wasn't working, they provided a desk fan, but the room was too hot to sleep in. I needed another stay for 3rd July, but probs will try another hotel unless their air con on working by this date.
The Village Hotel Swansea & Booking.com team accepted bookings, knowing air conditioning in multiple rooms was inoperable. Obviously, this wouldn't normally be a problem, but the temperature was in excess of 30 degrees. The hotel room was sold as having fully working air conditioning. We cancelled the booking as it was a danger to our toddlers' well-being to be placed in such a hot room. I left The Village Hotel Swansea with written confirmation stating a full refund would be issued, only to find after we left that both Booking.com and The Village Hotel Swansea are no longer keeping to their statement, and we were left with a long, unplanned journey home, along with no refund. There are clear grounds within the Customer Rights Act that this situation impacts, which we are pursuing. Terrible service from both parties. I would avoid using Booking.com at all costs.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially at reception & restaurant.
Pool was q good, location ok
Lock on window dodgy which worried me, asked reception to have a look but he was busy and think he forgot The air con didn't work either No phone in room meant I had to go downstairs every time I had a question No menu or guide or anything in the room either Also disappointed Starbucks was shut as the website hadn't mentioned this was the case The price increased in the 10 mins I took to book
Friendly
Nothing
Quirkiness. Comfortable bed. Great air conditioning.
Dinner, not good at all. Only one chocolate between two guests, first night only. No replenishment of coffee pods for second night. That’s just penny-pinching!
Location is easily accessible.
The aircon system was not working during our stay. It was very warm in the room as it is hot summer time in Swansea. We did inform the receptionist, but he said no maintenance available to fix the aircon.
