The parkland and walks.
The shower in the bath was uncomfortable/slightly dangerous. The food was ok; but not at the high standard it could be for such a remarkable hotel.
The grounds are lovely, despite the HS2 works the hotel was peaceful.
The hotel was virtually empty so not much atmosphere. They should have some background music in the public rooms/restaurant as it was far too quiet, it felt intimidating and not relaxed. We sat out on the terrace and would have sat for longer but no shade at all, need some parasols over the tables.
Beautiful hotel and location Friendly, efficient staff. Fantastic food a
That we couldn't stay longer!
Lovely estate. Love the heritage library and lounges. Nice little spa. Excellent massage. Good food but a bit pricey.
Don’t like the duvet blanket set up Special should change every day

Facilities very basic. Room had no A/C during v hot summer
The history of the place
Все было великолепно: место, здание, комната, вежливость и помощь персонала
Могло быть лучше и современен Spa. Спортзала, по сути, нет
Amazing building and interior. Staff were fantastic. Suite in Hartwell Court was incredible.
Not cheap and Grounds were nice but a little boring.
Stunning property and grounds
Dinner was decent but not fo that price. The slippy shower was a death trap. The TV was 20 years old and not sharp. Etc. etc
Hartwell House is just perfection. Old-fashioned in the best possible way: butter served in silver dishes at exactly the right softness; exceptional food; attentive, discreet staff, who will go to any amount of trouble. Ethan and Ben were particular stand-outs. Hartwell is such a refreshing break from corporate hotels -- it really is like staying in a very grand private home, with great staff. Imagine if your granny were a dowager countess. It felt specific, full of history, beautifully decorated, in gorgeous parkland. About half the price of Cliveden and SO MUCH BETTER.
There was a small kerfuffle with reception about changing rooms at the beginning, but thereafter people couldn't have been nicer. Just a superb hotel.
Everything - it’s a beautiful place to stay, room/suite was stunning, grounds, staff, food, service - not a detail out of place.
Nothing
Her şey çok güzeldi doğa muhteşemdi restoran kısmında Soner bey bizimle çok ilgilendi yemekler muhteşemdi
Beautiful historic house and extensive grounds in which to enjoy walks. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Lifts to upper floors. Service for drinks, tea/coffee etc available throuughout the day. Room was spacious, comfortable with view over grounds. Plenty of storage space. Bathroom had useful support rails fitted. Food was good although dinner menu rather limited. A very calming atmosphere throughout. In all a very enjoyable stay.
Perhaps more dinner menu options.

Alles bestens

This property is steeped in history. It was both a pleasure and a privilege to stay somewhere that has such stories to tell. The grounds are large and private. We stayed in one of the Royal bedrooms and also took advantage of the spa and treatments.
This is not a complaint but as someone who likes generous portions at dinner I feel the menu could be improved a little to allow more. The food was all of excellent quality and cooked to perfections.
Just the grounds were fantastic, beautiful building, but more than I think but the staff When we arrived, there was a bit of a mixup regarding the room I booked a Booking.com and what Hartwell house had arranged It was Valentine’s weekend and I was very disappointed that what I was expecting was not what we got I explained it to the gentleman who brought us to the room and right away he went to the Management and discussed it or I’ve got a call within minutes They explain that the building was fully booked and there was not a lot they could do. I explain my frustration. And I was disappointed The manager said to give her a few minutes and she see what she could do Again within moments, I got a callback and they rectify the issue No long waiting around No awkwardness No hassle Efficient, professional and how a facility should run I can’t thank them enough The room is spectacular and exactly what I was expecting I will be returning without shadow of doubt
Honestly Nothing
Staff were most welcoming and gave us a tour of the main building. Our suite was extremely comfortable and well appointed. Dinner was superb accompanied by a good selection of wines.
Nothing!!
Quietness, exceptional service, elegance and charm of English heritage
None
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house and grounds are wonderful. The spa facilities are excellent and the treatments were very good. We stayed two nights, had a little meal in the local pub (easy walk to the pub) and an excellent dinner at Hartwell House the second night. We will plan a second visit next year.
It would be helpful if the map of walks on the grounds was a little clearer as it seemed to show some walks that we couldn't do.
The hotel is steeped in history and well worth a visit. Ethan and Sonnel are great ambassadors to the hotel. It is a lovely hotel to escape for a break.
It is a bit pricey and lacks a selection of glassware for a 5 star hotel. The room did not have a fridge but Ethan kindly found a small one for the room. A five star hotel should have a fridge in the room.
Everything is superb and nice, have ever experienced.
Nil.
We loved that Hartwell was just the same as it was 28 years ago, when we last visited for our honeymoon. It has lost none of its authentic charm. It's just fantastic. Food was also delicious.
The spa was so busy, there was nowhere to relax by the pool. Could I suggest booked times as I was super disappointed. This was a big part of my stay and I resented that I had paid a lot of money to stay at a fabulous spa hotel and couldn't relax at the spa!
Stunning looking location, beautiful grounds. Very peaceful. Rooms have everything you need and are comfortable and spacious. Facilities are maintained to a high standard in keeping with the age of the property.
Grab rails in the bath would help people with less mobility.
Grand old property very stylish and well maintained.
£8.00 for a bottle of Peroni and £6.00 for a small tonic water extortionate.
breakfast was wonderful, staffs very friendly.
hard to reach location
Perfect in all respects
There was nothing I didn’t like
Historical and well preserved in beautiful surroundings
HS2 spoiling the area
Clean spa. Friendly and helpful staff lovely grounds.
Lack of food options - snacks or room service.
Breakfast good, although bacon and sausage had been cooked for some time. Scrambled eggs very good. Dinner very expensive - we went to local pub. Spa was excellent, especially swimming pool and Club Room.
Plumbing could be modernised. Dinner too expensive.
Stunning historic house and grounds. Superb wine and dinner. Staff absolutely top notch.
Breakfast was good and the house, gardens and surroundings were all beautiful. Big, comfortable bed.
Some of the staff were cold and overly formal - understand some guests would maybe prefer that style but it came across as unnerving at times. Spa staff were nice but again very formal - not allowed to take a sunbed outside despite it being 20 degrees - and the facilities could use a touch-up compared to some of the photos. Dinner was also overpriced and overly formal for younger people.
A beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds
Everything about this place was excellent! Professional and friendly staff, amazing spa facilities, beautiful house.
Everything was perfect!

The staff were very friendly and the spa facilities were very good.
We had the valentines menu for the evening meal. Everything was nice but on reflection we would have liked more veg (maybe some potatoes as well) with the main dish.
Enchanting, historic, unique
Some of the facilities are a bit dated but this adds to the charm in a way
Good details
Amazing location and beautifully place. It is a listed building that was a royal residence in the past.
I liked everything
The setting is stunning and the staff are lovely
I took my husband here for a night away for his birthday. The hotel is beautiful, very special with amazing rooms to explore and sit by one of the many fireplaces with a drink. We were allocated a room in the coach house which is closer to the spa but not part of the main building. The room was like staying in my grandmas house, clean but very old fashioned. I know that’s supposed to be the charm of a place like this but I think they can find a way to combine the character with a bit of an update. I would say the spa area is basic and the massage my husband got was underwhelming given the high price. The highlight was the breakfast which was very nice, although it was spoiled by the fact I was told off by the waiter for making a phone call. I’m all for rules, but there was no warning anywhere that mobile phones are not allowed to be used so I felt quite embarrassed. This was a night away without the children so naturally I wanted to check in on them in the morning. Anyway, would I stay here again, probably not, but maybe staying in the main hotel and not being spoken to like a child would change my mind.
An amazing break in a very special hotel. Staff were so helpful and friendly an the rooms felt like we were at home.
nothing, all was practically perfect.
Dry relaxed. Lovely burrito ding. Helpful staff. A lovely stay.
No complaints
Just an hour from London, Hartwell House is a hidden gem. The hotel boasts a perfect location with expansive grounds for leisurely strolls and breathtaking scenery. Once home to King Louis XVIII, it is steeped in historic charm and elegance. We had a lovely experience, particularly enjoying breakfast served by the very friendly staff member, Sonar. Every room is impressive, adorned with beautiful paintings and thoughtfully decorated. As soon as you step inside, it feels as though time has paused, making you want to relax by the cozy fireplaces scattered throughout the hotel. While I had some initial concerns after reading reviews about renovations, I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are spacious, and for a place with such historical significance, the hotel is in excellent condition.
The suite/small house.
Very hot room No fresh milk in the fridge or de caff coffee A tv didn’t seem to work
Hartwell House & Spa is a hidden gem - a beautiful estate full of history.
Everything was perfect from welcoming concierge; friendly reception; attentive staff and a breathtaking room with a beautiful view.
The hotel was so beautiful and comfortable. We also loved the breakfast and dinner offered in the dining room. It was definitely the best Spa hotel we have ever stayed!
Nothing
The most incredible experience from arrival to departure. I had a great tour of the hotel and a little history lesson regarding the historical figures who lived in the hotel ( I think the gentleman's name was Jacob, thank you!!). My room was stunning with a wonderful view of the grounds. The hotel decor is beautiful and very Bridgertonesque but also very comfortable with great spots where you can just chill and read a book. The bar is incredible, very cosy and British - definitely recommend. Spa was super chilled, not many people around. It was a warm day so I grabbed a sun lounger to soak up the rays on the patio. I also had an incredible frozen facial where the facialist treats your skin with - 200 degree blasts of air, I WAS GLOWING for days. Food is very traditional with everyone dressed well for dinner, I don't mind dining alone but did feel more conscious than I would normally, maybe because it was so formal but the food was beautiful!! On my last day I did a lovely walk in the grounds before taking a quick taxi and jumping on a train back to the big smoke, Thanks to everyone for my wonderful stay.
The perfect scenery of an English countryside house. Fabulous historic premises combined with modern day comfort.
Old world charm, comfortable rooms, staff interactions were fantastic, well done. The dinner and breakfast service were great.
The shower over the bath, we are sure the room on booking.com stated a walk in shower, stand to be corrected. It was not great. No fridge in the room for the amount we paid, very poor.
This hotel is amazing. We loved it. The staff are really great. The food was excellent. The service amazing. I would say that this is the best experience I have had staying in a hotel. We used the spa, and my partner had a treatment and came out saying how great it was.
Nothing
Breakfast excellent, All the staff friendly and very helpful
Happy as it was thank you
Location good. buffet could have been more extensive. coffee not great.
steam room not hot enough. Dinner overpriced and a bit pretentious.
We loved the convenient location close to major attractions". We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast in the morning". The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable.
