É bem localizado e tem um bom atendimento.

O quarto é minúsculo, mal iluminado. Para o que pagamos esperava uma experiência incrível em uma cama grande, confortável e em quarto espaçoso. Mas não... cama pequena, quarto pequeno, pouco conforto. Esperava uma experiência de princesa, mas não vá esperando isso. É equivalente a um 3 estrelas bom. Com preço de 5 estrelas top.

It is of course magical to be in a medieval castle and to actually be staying at the main attraction of the charming medieval city of Óbidos. We will be returning there surely! But only to the Superior Rooms.

Superior rooms are wonderful. Standard rooms, not so much. We had one night in a standard room and were not exactly happy with the quality of the bed and the general feeling of the room. We asked to change rooms and the Superior room was truly a game changer. Now we know which rooms to book :)

The location of the hotel is perfect. It's essentially right next to the castle and in the breakfast room, located in the castle there is a large window that looks out over the area where currently there is a medieval market. Breakfast was lovely with oodles of options including plenty of coffee. The room is a nice size and the rainshower was delightful. It was really nice that the young men came down to the parking area outside of the castle walls to fetch me and my things and then took me back to my car when I left. And also when I departed I received a small bit of dark chocolate.

On my first morning there I wanted a cup of the coffee that was included in the room. But try as I may I couldn't get the coffee machine to come on. A nice young man came to help me but he couldn't initially get it to work either. At some point it did come on but then it wouldn't stop and poured water all over the floor. I had asked for a double bed but the bed I got was 2 twin beds shoved together which still creates a split between the beds.

The location in the walls & the welcome we received.

The room was dismal, tired & adjoined to noisy neighbours! The walls are so thin you could hear every word of their conversation & he has a loud voice! Also we had to ask for coffee pods for the coffee machine 🤷🏼‍♀️!

Local incrível, excelente pequeno almoço. Todos os funcionários extremamente cordiais e atenciosos, principalmente os meninos da recepção e o garçom. Vista maravilhosa. Lençóis limpos.

A cama extra realmente não deveria ter esse nome. Talvez um saco de dormir fosse melhor. Completamente em descompasso com a categoria do hotel. Precisariam rever isso urgente.

A pousada tem acesso direito ao castelo, alguns aptos ficam dentro do próprio castelo. Os funcionários são atenciosos e educados. Foi uma experiência inesquecível!

It was a magical place, so authentic and well kept. Everything was very clean and the staff were very service minded and helpful.

The rooms with the balcony was more with a patio and no view.

Rooms were great with renovated facilities, although the bathroom was quite tight. Breakfast was exceptional, and our stay was great with direct access to the town / castle walls. Transport direct to reception and luggage transfer was a little problematic, however the team were overall very helpful.

I don’t get the notice that they provide a transfer / the walk wouldn’t have been so bad except my uber driver dropped me off by a side gate - so it was cobbles and steps the whole 20 min up - if I had been left at the Main Street it had a flat 1 stone width path in the middle for easier suitcase moving - but it was a minor hiccup as the hotel and town is so beautiful

Único ponto de atenção é que não conseguimos falar com a Pousada por mensagens, eles demoram muito a responder e no WhatsApp, que seria mais prático, até pra reservar o restaurante, eles não respondem em momento algum.

Unique experience to stay in a medieval castle. Dinner in the Hôtel restaurant also great experience in grand old dining room area.

It could do with a bit of a refresh as rooms bit tired but didn’t detract from the experience of staying there.

Location, although hard to get to and having to walk up to the Castle for Breakfast was a bit of a pain.

No pool, plus the walk to breakfast every morning. Okay for 1 night. Also no Bar Area as such. Plus needs sound proofing. Also the musty smell in the Castle is quite strong.

Exceptional unique location, stunning historical interiors.

Dinner and construction works inside the hotel starting from 10 AM. Dinner: great interior, okay food, but super slow staff (even for Portuguese): 20 minutes to stay before they gave us a seat, 1 hour waiting for wine and 1.5 hours for dishes. You call yourself Pestana, come on, match this.

The breakfast was excellent

The advertising is misleading in that I thought we would be located in the castle in an ample sized room. We were located in a small building next to the castle in a cramped dark room. Furniture was tatty and the seat of the armchair stained. Workmen were occupied in the passage all afternoon.

Na chegada fomos recebidas com uma taça de ginginha e nosso check in foi feito no jardim, sentadas no fresco com uma vista linda, o hotel tem paisagens maravilhosas e o serviço é imoecalvel.. O pequeno almoço é enorme, com muitas opções quentes, pães, bolos, queijos, podem escolher que tipo de cafés quer, sucos e até espumante. Os quartos são acolhedores e fomos recebidas com um bolo de cortesia pelo Nosso aniversário. Tem sala de jogos e chás disponíveis nas áreas comuns, no quarto tem água e cafés nespresso. Recomendo vivamente, pois temos acesso a uma parte exclusiva do castelo. O quartos tem banheira. Um charme.

Na entrada ao restaurante tem um perfume muito forte.

Unique and stunning location. The experience of being in a castle. Proximity to old town and castle walls. Helpful staff.

Some improvements could include an upgrade to the plumbing as we could not get any hot water to shower on the first night. It was ok the second night. The air conditioning system is a bit clunky as it blew cold air onto our faces in bed but we accept that there have to be compromises in an old building and they didn’t have or even think of air conditioning systems when they built the castle! Overall a unique and enjoyable experience

Really excellent breakfast at the top of the castle. Room lighting was a little dark, but in keeping with what it would have been like centuries ago I guess! Comfortable bed. The staff were all really lovely and very helpful

It would have been good to know that they have an electric buggy to meet guests at both bus stops as it was a struggle to haul cases up over the sloping cobbles. This could be better advertised by the hotel and included in their arrival instrucions.

It was a unique experience to stay inside the castle, and the location is amazing. The room really captures the atmosphere of living in a castle.

The location was amazing, I love that it was in a castle. The men who carried my bag and drove me to bus stop were great. The pillow options, the bathrobe, the snacks, were great

The bed in room 103 was very uncomfortable, it was bent high in the middle and uneven on sides so I would roll to the edge. The bathroom was too moldy, and the ventilation didn’t work well. The bathroom heater kept shutting off (I thought it was the air vent at first), so it probably needs to be cleaned and I’m guessing is a fire risk. I was hoping I would be able to wander through the whole old castle, but it was more hotel like than I thought. It was way too expensive, especially for the quality of mattress and bathroom mold and I wanted to ask for some refund, but the front desk person didn’t ask how my stay was so I was too shy.

Everything. Dinner in the restaurant was exceptionally delicious. The included breakfast was also delightful, healthy and beyond expected.

History fairytale setting

The only negative is this is a walled City. You have to walk from the Transportation problem point to the hotel or arrange for a hotel to pick you up at the transportation point. I'm answering the survey

The pousada was a bit tough to locate . The staff drove around to where we parked the car and helped us transfer our luggage . We received a welcome ginja drink . They had treats in the room . Beautiful view from the balcony . Dinner and breakfast was to die for . My favourite was the royal cake . I still dream about it

Difficult to find … tight roads

Alex helped us with the luggage, he was so pleasant and helpful. Staying inside the walls was wonderful, you can enjoy the small town before and after the crowds arrive and dinner in the dining room of a castle was a great experience. Breakfast was great and the staff very attentive.

The standard room inside the castle is very small and uncomfortable. We were upgraded to a suite in the adjacent building which was very comfortable but full of bugs!!!

What an experience to stay in a castle! The staff was wonderful, especially Alex, who was helpful, knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our visit amazing. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and a perfect way to see Obidos. Stay here if you can.

Loved being at castle, very cool. Room was a bit musty but fine when you cracked a window. Loved the breakfast and staff was great. Traveling around the castle wall was fun and the shops adorable!

Die Musik beim Dinner in der Burg stylmässig zwar passend, aber für mein Gschmack viel zu lasch nahezu zum Einschlafen. Schade.

O fato de se hospedar num castelo já é por si só fantástico. Localização perfeita. A sala de chá convida a uma parada para apreciar o momento. O restaurante é incrível, vale muito jantar lá numa noite.

A acessibilidade não é o forte. Para mim não incomodou em nada, mas se você tem dificuldade de mobilidade ou bagagem muito pesada pode ser difícil.

Our room was too dark and there were several sets of stairs to get to the dining area

The location was the highlight of the stay — convenient, well situated, and ideal for visiting the city. We were also impressed by the gentleman who assisted with our luggage to and from the car. He was professional, cheerful, entertaining, and easy-going, and his warmth stood out as a particularly memorable part of the stay.

The biggest disappointment was the comfort of the beds. The mattresses were extremely soft and felt cheap, making it difficult to sleep and leaving me with backache the next morning. My friend, who was in a different room, had the same experience, which suggests this is a broader issue rather than a one-off problem. In addition, the room lacked even a basic desk for using a laptop, although there appeared to be ample space for one.

O atendimento é prestativo. São todos mto atenciosos. O café da manhã é excelente! Muito gostoso e completo. O room service tb muito gostoso.

As escadas são desanimadoras. Para chegar no restaurante onde é servido o café da manhã, precisávamos subir muito! Todo o espaço até lá, e a céu aberto, impraticável com chuva. O quarto que minhas filhas ficaram era muuuito pequeno! Nem a mala delas coube ali. Precisei colocar no nosso quarto.

The setting of the hotel in the old castle, at the top of a fantastic old town, is hard to beat. The room had good facilities. The breakfast room had great views over the surrounding countryside.

We had paid for a superior room and, while it had all you needed, it was windowless. I suppose this is to be expected in the base of a castle tower, but a little claustrophobic.

Experiência única de se hospedar dentro de um castelo. Staff muito prestativo; inclusive foram nos buscar no estacionamento na entrada da cidade de carro pois chovia muito quando chegamos. Café da manhã espetacular.

This is as authentic a castle stay as it gets! The hotel is set within the castle walls and the special suite is literally in the stone tower. The property is filled with antiques and armor. There’s a four post canopy bed, a beautiful old desk. The breakfast was wonderful with great variety and local dishes. The staff were very friendly and kind especially the guys who do the transport and escorting to the room. So sweet.

The suite is exactly as pictured with tiny tower windows, which is a minor issue only if claustrophobic and the narrow stairs upstairs to the bed are almost as steep as a ladder. Fun but just be ready for it. Cool experience and very unique!

Staying at Pousada Castelo Óbidos was truly magical. Arriving as the day-trippers drifted away, the village grew quiet and the castle felt wonderfully our own. From the warm welcome of ginjinha served in chocolate cups to candlelit dinner within ancient stone walls, every moment felt steeped in history. Our room overlooked Óbidos’ red rooftops, and walking the ramparts at dusk as the lights flickered on was unforgettable. The night was perfectly still, and morning bells and mist over the countryside completed the experience. This wasn’t just a hotel stay — it felt like living inside history.
