Grand Hotel Las Dunas, Autograph Collection

I had an amazing 5 day experience in the hotel getting a free upgrade and really being cared for. Everything in this hotel seemed to run smooth and the staff is very freindly. Excellent views from the balcony on the see, beach is 100m away.

Il posto ideale per una vacanza all'insegna del relax, con il suo splendido giardino dove godersi, a bordo piscina, vista mare, la piacevole brezza ed un drink servito direttamente al proprio lettino. Ottimo il ristorante sul mare. Posizione strategica per raggiungere con pochi minuti Estepona, Marbella ed anche Malaga.

Nous avons été accueillis extrêmement chaleureusement par toute l'équipe ainsi que par la direction de l'hôtel. À notre grande surprise, nous avons bénéficié d'un surclassement offert dans une superbe chambre supérieure. Le logement offrait une vue magnifique sur la mer et disposait de tous les équipements nécessaires pour un confort parfait. Cet établissement charmant et chaleureux propose une ambiance particulièrement détendue, idéale pour se ressourcer. Ce cadre fantastique a rendu notre double événement — notre anniversaire de mariage et la célébration du mariage de nos proches — absolument inoubliable. Un grand merci à tout le personnel pour leur attention et leur générosité tout au long de nos 4 nuits sur place.

Tout était absolument parfait, nous n'avons strictement rien à reprocher à notre séjour !

Beautiful luxurious Hotel. Very comfortable with high quality bedding and towels. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Gorgeous smelling toiletries. Loved the Nespresso coffee machine, fridge and kettle. Food was exceptionally good. Will definitely return and have already booked our next stay.

Unfortunately there were not enough parasols for the sunbeds although this was remedied immediately when brought to the Manager’s attention. The TV’s in the room were ultra technical and difficult to operate, although there was always someone on hand to show us the controls. The beach was unfortunately full of piles of seaweed. I understand this is out of the Hotel’s control but was disappointing not to be able to swim in the sea.

Das Frühstück und auch die restlichen Speisen im Restaurant waren hervorragend, man zahlt aber auch den Preis dafür. Wunderschön gepflegte Garten- und Poolanlage. Sehr nettes Personal.

Insgesamt hat mir der Aufenthalt gut gefallen. Als kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag: Teilweise waren am Pool keine Handtücher mehr verfügbar, sodass man warten musste, bis neue geliefert wurden. Das Frühstück beginnt erst um 8.00 Uhr. Für Frühaufsteher wie mich wäre ein etwas früherer Beginn wünschenswert. Schön fände ich zudem, wenn am Strand zusätzlich Liegestühle oder Liegen zur Verfügung stehen würden, um den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer zu gestalten.

All stuff members were very welcoming and nice, we immediately felt that we are in a good place. We got an upgrade for our room as well, enjoying extra space. The hotel is nice, small enough for an intimate vibe and well located at beach front.

A little isolated. Not many local amenities. You will need a car or taxi get to Estepona town or beyond

The staff in the restaurant and Paul area were very mixed - slow service and no service . The greeting and bell boy weee excellent .

O café da manhã foi bom. Podíamos escolher através de cardápio. Os quartos eram espaçosos, as camas confortáveis, banheiro grande... O hotel é aconchegante, ideal para quem deseja descansar.

Não tenho nada a reclamar.

Śniadania a la carte. Mogłoby być masło na zewnątrz a nie na zamówienie :) Reszta w porządku.

Pokój na parterze niestety słychać serwerownie ale personel zamienił pokój ASAP na spaniały.

Fantastic hotel with a calm and relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful building. It had just reopened under a new brand. Every member of staff we met were very pleasant and would do anything to help you have the best stay. Javier at breakfast was a real joy, nothing was too much for him or his team. He is someone you can see takes his job very seriously and wants to please the guests. We actually looked forward to breakfast because of him and his team. I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel had a large gym in a new building in the garden looking out on the sea. You can walk straight out onto the beach. The range of food at the restaurant in the evening wasn't huge, but plenty of nice restaurants in the area for variety.

Wenn man etwas nachsichtig ist, kann man das Hotel als gut bewerten. Da es erst vor ca. 1 Woche unter neuer Leitung eröffnet hat, herrscht noch die Findungsphase. Die Rollen und Kompetenzen müssen noch geklärt werden. Das ganze Personal gibt sich jedoch grosse Mühe. Die Anlage und die Lage sind einmalig. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und geräumig. Über falsch oder nicht montierte Steckdosen kann man hinwegsehen. Dennoch ist es sicher kein 5 Sterne Hotel. Es gibt zu viele Mängel. Kein Gepäckservice bei der Abreise, zu langsamer Service am Pool und auch kein Handpapier auf der Pool-Toilette. Es verdient 4 Sterne. Was jedoch äusserst frech ist, sind die à la carte Preise beim Lunch und beim Dinner ( notabene auch nur die Lunchkarte im Angebot). Und, das Essen war nicht einmal herausragend, was den Preis vielleicht noch gerechtfertigt hätte.

Not so much what i did not like but, in case theybwould have an opportunity to extend the beach to sandy beach with beds...that would create the perfection..

We had the most amazing day and night at our daughters wedding. The staff went above and beyond all our expectations. They really made everything perfect and a day that we will remember forever.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike. From the moment we entered into reception to checkout everything was just perfection.

Bra läge och lyxigt hotell. Inte det modernaste men helt ok. Spadelen var helt ok, men kunde varit mysigare med lite smådetaljer som växer.

Top class hotel

The location was stunning and our room was absolutely amazing. The spa had a snow room which I had never encountered before and was fun and the staff at the spa were super helpful. The grounds of the hotel were also beautiful and when we wanted the hire bikes to explore the coastal path, the reception staff could not have been more helpful. Fabulous!

The service at the restaurant was a tale of two halves. At times it was exactly as you would expect from a 5 star hotel and at times it was not. On one occasion after waiting 20 minutes for a drink, we gave up and walked to the bar to get it ourselves. On another, the waiter referred to me (and I’m in my 50s) as “darling” - I put this down to a language difference, but it was still unwelcome. However, when I ordered a salad with a dressing and queried where it was on arrival, I did not expect the waiter to argue with me about whether the salad should have the dressing that was clearly on the menu. All little things but they added up to a slightly uncomfortable whole.

Breakfast, when it arrived was generally ok. Staff are over stretched and it reflects on their service But they all very nice and pleasant

Tbe pool, although perfect temperature, was a bit untidy, tiles missing Which made it look a bit shabby If the maintenance crew spent a day replacing them and the ones around the water feature, it would make a huge difference.

Location is fantastic. The 'Lido' restaurant is wonderful, dining at the sea. Everything was perfect!

Service in the restuarant was somethimes chaotic due to lack of the English language. If a traveler can speak Dutch, French, German and Englisch you would expect that people understand each other.

Room was superb, spa is sensational as well.

The breakfast menu is limited given breakfast was included at a 5* hotel. Also had an issue getting a drink from the restaurant in the evening with poor service.

I hate to leave this review as I gave the hotel staff every opportunity to make things right … but when I told them that a hotel staff member had entered my room at 4AM startling me and ruining any further sleep, that a water aerobics class was going on for an hour in the quiet spa area AND that driving directions on Expedia had been grossly incorrect, they did nothing. Very disappointing. Systems are broken which should ensure a peaceful stay at a luxury resort. Very overpriced for the experience.

Staff, location and room was lovely and quiet.

Most Spanish hotels do not have a make up or hair dressing table in the room. I like the magnifying mirror but bathroom was too dark to do make up in. Also we need a full length mirror in the dressing area.

The breakfast overlooking the sea is simply magical and the staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast in the lower bar starts at 09:30 but 08:30 in the hotel itself. The staff went out of their way to make my stay fantastic and even picked up a daily English newspaper for me from a petrol station. The gardens and ambiance of Las Dunas are fabulous.

Truthfully the Spa at this hotel is really amazing but the cost of even the most basic treatment seemed expensive (eg: Euros 130 for a 50 min facial), compared to elsewhere. But maybe this is because I do not normally use a Spa and am not up to date with prices. However a 50 min facial at the Danesfield House in Marlow (super expensive hotel) is £90.

The look of the hotel is beautiful. The staff were warm, accommodating and welcoming. The place looked and sounded very peaceful. Entering the room I had a welcome note and macaroons waiting for me :) Very lovely gesture. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable overlooking the sea. The toilet was huge and had all amenities available. The robes and towels were clean and soft. The bed was huge and the pillows were fluffy. It was a very comfortable mattress so I had a good night sleep. The pool was a good size. Not too big and not too small. It wasn't crowded which is very tranquil. The food I ordered was delicious.

Not really a big issue but the sound of the fountain outside my room was loud during the night so I had to close the balcony door and couldn't enjoy the natural breeze but definitely not a deal breaker :) All else was perfect

Wonderful hotel - away from the hustle and bustle of Marbella, but still easy enough to get to. Set in beautiful grounds by the beach, great spa and pool facilities and the staff were very professional and friendly.

The hotel could do with a bit of modernising.

Room and bed pool

Restaurant staff was very slow and hard to get a drink round the pool press the waiters button about 4 times it took about 30 minutes and there was nobody eating in the restaurant

The rooms are lovely & the setting is ideal, but that’s about it. The 1 restaurant (not 3) serves the same thing all day (same as a the room service menu) & is horrendously slow & over priced. The breakfast is slow & a very poor choice of options. The spa is fine if you like sauna/steam room but the pool/jacuzzi area is currently closed (they tried to deny it existed until I showed them the brochure from the room). For a mostly empty hotel the staff aren’t exactly jumping to help. Don’t bother trying to go into the indoor part of the restaurant - it’s empty & no staff go in there. It could be brilliant, but instead it’s a 3 star hotel in a 5* shell.

I was expecting a luxurious spa. Not up to expectations. The hotel needs some TLC.

The entire experience was exceptional. Gorgeous room balcony with beautiful view of the sea. Staff were friendly food lovely. We hardly left the property. We will definitely be back

The spa doesn’t open until 10am so I couldn’t get an early appointment to use the reformer.

the beach could have been better

Beautiful, well manicured grounds. Room was large and well decorated. It was a quiet peaceful location with every corner you turned being breathtakingly beautiful.

Pool doesn’t open till 11am, but Apart from that everything was perfect.

Nice oldfashioned hotel. Staff was not really doing much effort to make our stay comfortable. The hotel was almost empty, the breakfast poor. We will not go back.

We did not have the nice breakfast as promised. although the weather was fine, it was not allowed to sit outside on the terras to have our breakfast. Poor service.
