Clean but very cluttered and the interior design is poor; black switches on black walls, and no separate bathroom. No space within the room and very cramped. Red light on window ledge that is impossible to turn off. Overall poor value for money.
Very small room - needed to keep suitcases under the bed since there was absolutely no room to keep them open anywhere in the room. The location is convenient, but the staff at the front desk was very unfriendly.
Great hotel, a bit quirky but a fun place. Excellent location and breakfast is above average.
Excellent location in beautiful Dijon! Close to train and bus transportation!
lovely hotel, great location in town, walking distance to lots of restaurants, bars, shops. & staff are friendly, and thank you to all the team for speaking great English, appreciated. I know it must be frustrating that the British struggle with a 2nd language!
We had a super time at the Vertigo and will definitely return. It’s a boutique hotel with great facilities. The rooms are cool and the AC was effective but not noisy (rare in France!). The seating areas throughout the hotel are very cool. The barmen made great drinks. The free candy bar is a cute gimmick. The pool and spa area is small but we enjoyed it. Best of all is the area - walk out the door and you’re in downtown Dijon which has a lot to offer.
Excellent location! Room - Regular sized bed & hot shower. Odd decor. Hotel Staff - Our experience with the staff we encountered were that they were not particularly friendly but just did the minimum Swimming pool - It was great that there is was a (small) indoor swimming pool and spa. Open till midnight. Nuxe Spa - Its great that there is a Nuxe spa directly downstairs; you just take the lift. The Nuxe spa workers were a bit inexperienced and I'm not sure if they had training in massage or beauty. Next time in Dijon I would try a different hotel as the cost vs hotel experience didn't match.
Great night at Hotel Vertigo in Dijon, and it was honestly a beautiful experience. My room was in the attic-style section, with sloped ceilings — very artistic and full of character. The interior design was unique and creative, with lovely details that made the space feel like an art gallery. After a long travel day, I was exhausted, but the reception staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. It made a big difference. I also enjoyed the design of the Nuxe Spa — calm, stylish, and a pleasure to enjoy and relax. Also Bar was one of the best in town, you have to try! — the hotel has a peaceful and tasteful atmosphere. Being alone in this beautiful, artistic space, looking out the window at the historic rooftops of Dijon, was truly calming. I felt like I was living in a little dream. Would absolutely stay again. Perfect for solo travelers, art lovers, and anyone who appreciates unique boutique design.
Location was fine and the cleanless Breakfast was very good, enjoy!
Loved this hotel. Every member of staff we met was wonderful. Thank you! We arrived very early and hoped to be able to just store our baggage, instead we were upgraded and given an available room. It was incredibly thoughtful. The room had a lovely view of Dijon and was so cute in design. We loved the quirky furniture, and really fun design choices. The minibar selection was so unique… things we have never seen before and the little mustard gift was just wonderful! All the room amenities were great. The hotel itself is located perfectly between Dijon station and main centre ville. We used the spa facility and had fantastic massages and relaxed in the cute pool… sadly they don’t seem to have the glitter balls anymore (we were disappointed). This hotel is incredible value and a joy to stay…m we were tempted to extend our stay.
nice location ! nice staff !
The cost on Expedia was only a total of 20 euro less than booking directly with Marriott..I would have booked directly with Marriott for my upgrade options and points if I had known. The 4 star property is pretty run down. The towels were well worn, the mirror in the bathroom I had had a giant crack at the bottom, and the shower smelled like mildew. The staff was friendly and helpful, the a/c worked, there was a Nespresso for coffee to use in the morning and the location was convenient to walk to everything central to Dijon.
I was hesitant on this stay based on recent reviews, however, everything about our stay was great! The hotel is very unique, comfortable and in a prime location. Highly recommend!
The only lift broke down and not working for at least 4 days, very difficult for people to walk 4-5 flights of stairs, especially for elderly folks and those with leg issues.
Need to vacuum clean all carpets daily- rooms and hallways!
Excellent hotel in a nice location with dining and shopping options all around. Highly recommended
Most hotels take an imprint of your credit card in advance for minibar usage. In this case our credit card was actually debited €100. Shower leaked. Difficult to regulate the room temperature. Great location.
I think it was in a great location and a unique hotel.
Bedroom is modern with updated amenities, the shower has great pressure and blow dryer is fantastic, bed and linens also very comfortable. Parking is easy and safe. Lots of restaurants and shops and lots to do is literally around the corner.
This was a great location for visiting Dijon. It is in the heart of everything but still peaceful and quiet. The decor was cool. We liked the bar and the breakfast was nice. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very nice and allowed us to check in early. I used the pool and sauna. The pool is a little smaller than pictured but fine. The sauna was great.
Good quality. Room was small but beds comfortable and TV integrated with mirror interesting. Service at breakfast was great. Breakfast was good. Loved relaxing Reading Room. 'Gym' needs weights Spa pool is more a wellness dip with integrated jacuzzi Overshadowed by its neighbour a little
Quirky hotel in the city centre. Our room was right at the top, the ceiling was worryingly close to my husband’s head when he got up in the night for the loo!!! But all good for the price and a stop over.
We booked Vertigo very last minute because our first hotel was awful. We booked because this was our only option. Amazing location safe secure parking. Amazing welcome at reception. The hotel is quirky and very contemporary. Only a one night stay but fantastic.
Overall very good. Great location. Rooms are small. Hotel is right in the center of city so it’s a very good location!
Small double bed room. Clean, mini-fridge, mini-bar, multiple TV channels (4 in English). Central location right near Darcy Park.
Whimsical and fun. Rooms are small but clean and space for everything. Location is great
We got what was surely the worst room in a hotel. Turns out most if not all the rooms are like this, even though it is a US branded hotel (Best Western). There were bright orange and green lights IN OUR ROOM! I kid you not. For $200 a night, we paid to advertise our hotel. Blackout curtains didn't help. And I stupidly paid $20 for a glass of wine at the hotel bar in a town where wine is $3 a glass. Bought a bottle at a local wine shop for $4 for the next 2 nights. Not sure if there are "dark" rooms. Didn't think to ask. Check it out.
Property was fine. Staff was great. A/C didn’t work well in first room but they moved us to another room and gave us a fan.
This Hotel rates as a 10 +++. I’ve travelled the world & loved this Hotel so very much! Friendly Reception, MarveLous EVERYTHING! Superb!!
Very good location for shopping. Quiet location.
Very friendly staff, amazing room, great location
Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good-sized room with spacious shower and modern facilities.
We stayed at the Vertigo for just one night, on a stopover on our way to Corsica. The design is fabulous - gleaming black glass and marble everywhere. Our check-in and instructions for the parking were very easy and the lady on reception spoke both French and English fluently. Once in our room, we were both impressed with how well the relatively small space had been laid out, so it felt airy and light, with beautiful design features like waterfall taps in the sink. We stopped for a cocktail in the bar, which was delicious, before heading out to find dinner. The hotel is well placed to walk to plenty of restaurants. After a good night's sleep on the comfy, seemingly floating, bed, we had a full breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausages in cute little pots, plus the usual array of pastries - before a quick, simple checkout. We completely forgot that Vertigo also has a pool, so didn't use it, but would definitely return next time and do so. Recommended!
Good boutique hotel within easy walking distance to the old town & all of its amenities
Fun and interesting hotel close to walking area of Dijon. Modern designs with good quality. Wonderful cocktail bar and easy parking.
We chose the hotel so as to have one in central Dijon with a swimming pool over a very hot weekend. In fact, the pool is tiny, but the hotel was in most ways excellent. Excellent service, all the facilities to a high standard. The only problem is that the designers have made it into a 'theme' hotel -- the theme being, it seems, to have everything in black: a Stygian lobby and reception area, a sepulchral lift and black-walled corridors. This pointless zaniness vitiates the experience of staying at the hotel but did not spoil is for us.
It was a great hotel, and the fact that the restaurant wasn’t in operation is due to Corona restrictions and not because of the hotel
The hotel is at a very good location and nice design. The room on the fifth floor was under the roof and very small. The ceiling is very annoying. Staff is helpful and kind.
Good value for money. We would stay at the hotel again.
I have very mixed feelings about this stay. Hotel is in great location near Darcy park in Dijon and walking distance to everything. Checkin was easy (was traveling with other family members). My room was on top floor and the architectural and design elements highlighted the quirkiness of the place. The room felt a bit tight because of the roof and hanging tv from the side wall. I kept having to duck to avoid banging my head. After a good night’s sleep but after waking up and pulling out the covers I realized my sheets had a smear of blood on them... I requested they be changed and to move to a new room. The staff was very accommodating and the new room was fantastic compared to the first one so I would recommend sticking to floors 1-4. The second morning I woke up covered in insect bites all over my upper body. Turns out a spider had made a meal of me during my sleep. I went back to the front desk and showed them my face and arms and asked that they take a look and kill whatever did that to me. They were apologetic and took care of it The third night was uneventful. I guess housekeeping is the hotel’s achillees heel. Better inspection of the sheets and rooms would have prevented both events and left me unscarred from the spider bites. The other two rooms that my family had didn’t have these issues so I was unlucky. The spa was a bit crowded but the fitness center was great with three brand new machines. The bar is fantastic with creative cocktails and friendly bartender.
Beautiful hotel, nice spa facilities and great location. Check-in was a bit strange because we were early and rooms aren't free until 3 pm (which is fine and clearly signposted on Expedia) but the result is we weren't given a welcome refreshment, weren't reminded about city tax until checkout and weren't told about things like when the spa was open upon arrival. Not a huge deal but did make the process feel very impersonal. Overall enjoyed the stay and it's a great experience.
Great location. Stylish hotel. Nice bar. Easy to park. Great service.
Only major disappointment was the advertisement that they had a pool. It’s more of a large hot tub. You cannot swim in their “pool”. They should have made that clear. Also parking leaves a lot to be desired. If you try to park after midnight, the gate is closed and no one opens it for you. You’re left to circle the streets to look for public parking in the middle of the night.
Weird weird hotel.
As you would expect from a chain hotel. All good no eve food but the town is less than 5mins and loads of options there. Private parking but additional charge and tight - no range rovers :(x
Very chic hotel. So many fun details. Will stay here again.
Room too small Staff not very friendly
amazing town and fantastic hotel
Stop by over night on our way by train to Paris. Cute town and very clean. We enjoyed our stay.
Very good overnight stay. First visit to Dijon
Cramped room. Fancy design, good looking, but impractical in many ways.
Excellent boutique hotel in a fantastic location
Great hotel close to town with nice pool and spa easy parking
It’s a great hotel, with a very modern take on a compact space. For a Solo traveler the rooms was great. The front desk, breakfast and bar staff were all engaged and helpful. The hotel is centrally located - it literally is 10 minutes walk from the train station and from there you can explore the rest of Dijon easily, Look forward to staying there again.
Great hotel for a 1 night stay in Dijon. Perfect location and very accommodating staff. They recommended a great restaurant nearby and called and made dinner reservations for us. We also thoroughly enjoyed the spa! Room was teeny tiny but was fine for a short stay.
Very well located and the staff is helpful and friendly. TV system needs to be more user friendly.
Very modern hotel, room was very clean, and the location was fabulous for our first time there. Close to the old town and restaurants, and we got to use the bicycles to tour the back country of Dijon. It was the highlight of our trip. Our only complaint was that the room was very very small. We knew that it was 190 sq ft, but what we did not expect was that they put this huge 6 ft tall tv in the room which took up the entire wall and stood a foot away from the wall. That was space that we needed to open suit cases and we did not need that big thing in the middle of the room ( and we were very cautious around it because we didn’t want to break it). We would stay here again but maybe a bigger room).
A very “cool” modern hotel. Very good location, walking distance to everything ! Good room for a solo night stay! Friendly helpful staff.
Good location, easy parking, perfect for our overnight stay
What an amazing hotel! We would book it again in an instant
Great location~ could walk to shopping area. Front desk was NOT helpful with spa reservations. Seemed to not know much about the spa, which was a reason I came, and it turned me off to trying spa, so sadly I didn't try.
Nice attention to detail. Location is good. Staff are lovely. Good beds. The gym is barely functional. Good breakfast.
Everything good except layout of breakfast room.
It was a great stay. Attentive staff, clean room, hotel has a really good location - near to all remarkable places. But the most remarkable thing about this hotel is its design. Wow! You have to see this!
This hotel is a creative masterpiece!! Amazing use of artistic innovations. Hidden lights floating bed amazing bathrooms BUT.... the rooms are very small. A couple must stand aside to allow the other to walk by and in order to maximize the space, the toilet is on the opposite side of the bedroom from the bathroom. So in order to wash your hands, you walk around the bedroom to the other side. Not such a good plan! It the room was fantastic. !! The Ling full length mirror turned out to be the TV as well!! And art in the ceiling and glorious wide open window s overlooking gardens and the town of Dijon made it all worthwhile. Wonderful breakfast .... and the hotel was a stones throw from all the shops and the town square. We absolutely LOVED it.
Very easy to find and easy parking. Room was very modern and eclectic with a portrait fixed to the ceding and a floating bed. Excellent bistro nearby and close to Dijon’s shopping area and city.
What a lovely hotel! So well appointed and comfortable. Clean neat and just what we needed. Close to the centre of town so great for a quick visit. Would definitely go back ❤️
I would definitely stay here again. This hotel has the best designed bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel. The design made it very easy for two people to get ready at the same time. The next time I hope to take advantage of the spa. I loved the funky vibe of the place. I will be back!
Loved this place! Great amenities, conveniently located. Rooms were small, bbut beds were comfortable.
Horrible stay. “Welcomed” by a receptionist who seemed to assume we were criminals. Had a poorly heated dinner of canned chicken, touted as “farmhouse”. Not possible to get tea for my wife. Decor was deeply disturbing! At least the bed was comfortable but the hotel clearly does not merit its star rating
Very welcoming staff in modern hotel in a great location in the center of town. Rooms are small. The hotel breakfast offered an assortment of continual options with a surcharge for hot items - I liked both the eggs and sausages. Bartender was helpful with local restaurant recommendations. (Thumbs up for Parapluie) The use of bikes, e-bikes, the hotel’s electric car were appreciated during our stay. We rode the canal path west of Lac Kir and took the car to an interesting “gear head” museum : https://www.chateau-savigny.com/
Convenient and comfortable room Great service. Workout room- rare in Europe! Highly recommend.
The hotel is beautiful and so comfortable, A modern funky oasis in a beautiful old city
Very nice hotel in a great position. Very central. The room was very small but comfortable and well appointed. Staff were excellent and the breakfast had great choice. On the whole a very enjoyable stay. The price was correct for the level of hotel. Like many design hotels you do wonder if sometimes there is style over substance and with some of the details here that is the case. Serving some of the breakfasts in little pots looks great but the food inside was cold and they were not needed.
I'm the Gold member but I do stay pay 15E parking fee, I do not understand. But the rest things is very good.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one week and we were very happy. The location is very close to all the sights, shops, and restaurants. The room that we got was a bit small but had all the necessary spaces and amenities to make us feel comfortable. They have paid attention to tiny details and used very high quality materials, furniture, etc. in order to make their customers happy. Their service was excellent and The staff were friendly, courteous, and accommodating.
Overall, this hotel was a solid pick. We got one of the larger rooms and it was fabulous! Tons of room, great sitting / living room area and fabulous bathroom with whirlpool tub. We were also super close to the owl trail as well as all of the shopping and food. My favorite part was the candy in the lobby (large jars of it with to-go bags). It was the perfect touch!
Fantastic stay in Dijon - location great for train station and centre. Modern room with everything you could need and very well priced for our stay
Quirky design, excellent staff. Good use of small space. Parking at the rear of the building with discount reasonable day rate. Fun and a bit different.
Really cool hotel and a great location. Only bad thing was the prices at the bar, extortionate in one word. 8 euros for a bottle of Budweiser?? No thanks.
Hotel is very conveniently located close to centre of Dijon. Multi storey parking adjacent to hotel at reasonable rate. A particular highlight was the complimentary use of the hotels 4 e-bikes, which enabled us to spend a morning exploring Dijon.
Hotel Vertigo do things differently, but all excellently. Touches like bespoke furniture, DJ into the evening, potent cocktails with twists, designed spa area to serving hot items in cast iron pots. Would recommend if you want to skip the typical hotel room and experience.
Great Hotel with modern upgrades and very nice and clean room spacious, the staff were very helpful it is located very close to town center it takes few minutes to be there easy parking in hotel
One of the best hotels I have stayed in, in recent times. Anybody that writes a bad review on this place is jealous.
Quirky hotel, very comfortable but no restaurant for evening meal.
Loved it. Staff very friendly at this hip hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
Loved the hotel, interesting and comfortable decor, location was perfect for us - right at Darcy Place so easy access to the historic center, public transit and main garre - liked being in a clean modern hotel with windows that open. Great breakfast (though a bit pricey). I'd go back or recommend in a heartbeat.
fun, theme based venue, cute place, needs a source for room service
Perfect location in Dijon and a hotel that tries to be special to the minimum detail. It was really surprising. No doubt I will choose this hotel again if I come back. Only possible improvements would be in price of extras, such as parking the car or breakfast.
amazing! I live in hotels, Four Seasons, etc... Vertigo is exceptional. it is a high-end hotel for the price of a normal one. The food in Dijon is the same, top food for standard prices. I love this hotel, the management are really ding a great job. I love relaxing in the Hammam! Will be back for sure.
Absolutely lovely hotel in the centre of all you need. We live about 25km away and wanted to stay local for an evening so no driving needed.
I've now stayed at Vertigo twice. I'd start with the staff, who are uniformly excellent. If you have a problem in your room, someone will show up immediately and deal with it. The rooms are a bit small (it's a central city hotel after all), but well laid out. The beds are comfortable and the internet works well. They serve an excellent breakfast, much better than what passes as petit déjeuner in far too many French hotels these days. The bar on the ground floor stays open late, with music, so if you want to sleep I'd suggest an upper floor. The heavy bass created vibration in the whole building one night [I was on the third floor, French numbering, so a long way up from the bar]. The rooms are air-conditioned: irrelevant this time, but a God-send when I was there in June 2016 during a heat wave. Prices seem to vary a lot: I got reasonable deals online both times, but others have paid much more than I did. The hotel is a short walk from the train station, and, in the opposite direction, from the main sightseeing of central Dijon.
Great supply of towels. Room was very comfortable.
The room was extremely small and no place to put luggage except under bed.
This modern hotel was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and it is located close to the city center and the train station!
Very comfortable hotel in an ideal location. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which is great for a lone traveller. Breakfast was excellent.
Nice hotel and very nice design. We had a pleasant stay and it's very well located.
We stayed here for one night. I have never been so eager for morning to arrive so that we could leave (and never return). This hotel is a serious case of style over substance. Lovely old building, well located in centre of Dijon and clearly lots of money spent on the rooms, but, the styling is terrible (think of a seedy, ageing night club with very poor lighting). In the rooms nothing seemed to work and there was an awful smell from the drains in the bathroom. The parking is remote and the lift did not work. The staff were uninterested and disengaged (bordering on rude). When we raised an issue with our room the receptionist rolled her eyes and simply added the problem to her already very long list of reported defects. In the end we asked to be moved to another room, which they did, and the drains smelled in this room as well. I would strongly recommend that you avoid this hotel. Terrible.
We were only in Dijon for one night and decided to stay at Vertigo. A great decision as it's right in the heart of Dijon and walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The hotel has a great modern vibe and is very comfortable. The room could be little larger and the bathroom is an interesting set up. Fantastic service at reception and at breakfast. Wonderful spread and delightfully served. I would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers.
We booked two rooms at Vertigo for 4 nights. The hotel is exceptional inside and out. It has top-notch appointments and amenities, comfortable and quiet rooms, and a very attentive staff. The breakfast (not included but we were given coupons for 2 days) is exceptional and can keep you going until dinner time. The food choices are vast and the ambiance superb. As with any hotel in this class, it had free wi-fi and I found it must stronger than in other hotels. This hotel is very hip but really can accommodate any type of traveler. Its location is right next to the main city center, and is walking distance to nearly everything in Dijon. We never had the need for a car or tram except for our jaunts out of town to Beaune and some chateaus.
