No facilities except a vending machine, no kettle in the room. Our bathroom was distinctly odd, a partly converted kitchen , loo wedged between two kitchen cupboards, double sink as hand basin, a shower cubicle and a fridge included !

Reviewed Sep 15, 2026The 3 stars are only for the location and the historic structure and outside area because this is the weirdest place I’ve stayed due to the bathroom situation.
This is a former apartment so the bathroom is embedded in an old kitchen but the kitchen remains. They slotted a toilet between two kitchen cabinets and you brush your teeth in the kitchen sink. With minimal work this could be a cool space but instead it’s unsettling. We named it a bitchen, which is now an ongoing joke, but from a hotel perspective you feel like the joke’s on you when you’re staying in it. We all agreed we would not recommend it to a friend, despite the location.

The room could have been stunning if only a little bit of money was spent on it. The stone walls were beautiful but old,tired,dated wallpaper hanging of in the bedroom and bathroom really let this place down. Such a shame as its got huge huge potential for not much more than replacing wallpaper. no Air conditioning.. only 1 free standing fan . In 38degrees this waant sufficent .

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026Style of the premises - communal outside seating available. Suite with two basic but clean rooms and a bathroom, all in keeping with the style of the old town. Lovely authentic communal areas dotted around the premises. Situated right next to the Cathedral and all the old town tourist attractions. Very close to places to eat. Parking free (although a walk away). It is worth noting the fact that this is a pedetrianised area and unauthorised cars are not allowed, even to drop off bags - so its a walk to get there (took us about 15 minutes from the main car park with cases) - although it was well worth it when we got there!
Check in was a little up hill walk away from the premises - which with a case was a bit much after a walk from the car park already to get there. However - it was not too far, and knowing this in advance helped. A map of where to park the car would have been helpful, and how far this was to walk to the premises would have been good, as we tried to do this in the dark first time and I'm not sure we went the most direct route

Escaso menaje de cocina y amenities de baño. Apartamento en segunda planta sin ascensor con escaleras estrechas y empinadas. El primer tramo de escalera no posee luz pues se encuentra rota. Imposible acceso con coche al tratarse de zona restringuida. La ducha sigue rota y lanza agua fuera de la mampara...como informaba en sus reseña otro cliente.

Lo consiglio per chi vuole passarci una notte o due, non di più perché non c'è alcun servizio o comodità.

I cuscini non avevano un buon odore. Molto scomodo portare in salita decisa i bagagli all'hotel Historique per lasciarli lì dopo il check out.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026Hele goede ligging midden in de historische joodse wijk. Het is een prachtige locatie met een hele mooie tuin. Vele toeristen staan aan de poort om een kijkje te kunnen nemen in de tuin. Het is er groot, ruim, rustig en schoon. Het is fijn dat je gebruik kan maken van de tuin wanneer je maar wilt. Er is ruimte genoeg.
De foto's op Booking.com laten niet zien hoe mooi het werkelijk is. Ik denk als ze de foto's aanpassen ze nog meer bezoekers krijgen.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026Fantastic location in the heart of the historic area. Is very close to the cathedral. In a beautiful building with a great wee enclosed garden with tables. It was very reasonable cost wise, and the staff were lovely.
I had missed the fact it didn’t have air con when I booked it. We were there in August and the heat was very intense (35 with high humidity). The room had two big fans, but they just ended up pushing the hot air around. In all honesty you’d have needed three to cover all the beds. It was ok in the morning, but seemed to get very hot at night. The room is decent, in a lovely building but there are some loose tiles in the floor, and the balcony is very overgrown with plants.

Reviewed Aug 7, 2026We really loved the room we were staying in, it had a beautiful view of the cathedral out the window and the bed was really comfy. The location of the property is great, right in the heart of the old town and near a lot of little cafes and bars. Everything was very clean and the building is really well kept. It was a lovely stay.
There isn’t much we didn’t like, however the room would benefit from some air conditioning. But we understand that the historical aspects of the building might restrict this. I would also just suggest a hairdryer being kept in the room.

Hacía mucho calor y con los ventiladores no era suficiente. La ducha no tenía cortina y se salía el agua y a la terraza no te podías asomar porque las plantas estaban salvajes, sin podar.

En Booking pone que tiene aire acondicionado, pero nuestra habitación no tenía, solo un ventilador que ni siquiera era suficiente para dar aire a todas las camas. Hacía tiempo que no dormía tan mal en un hotel. El calor era insoportable.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026We loved our stay at Casa Cundaro. The location could not have been better, right in the historic centre and in the shadow of Girona Cathedral. It was the perfect base for exploring the city during our one-day visit. Check-in was handled at the sister hotel, where the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They even arranged a taxi for us to catch our flight very early the following day, which made our onward journey very easy. Casa Cundaro itself is full of rustic charm and character. We stayed in a huge family room with a private bathroom and a lovely balcony overlooking the peaceful courtyard garden. It felt authentic, comfortable and very special. Girona's historic centre is absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful streets, stunning architecture and a wonderful atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and are already planning to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming and characterful place to stay in a fantastic location.

Dual aspect and on a corner you feel like you are staying in the heart of the old town. Good aircon and WiFi. Fantastic private roof top terrace too. Staff on reception in Hotel Historic were nice and stored our bags on checkout day.
It was fine for us but the bathroom needs work. It’s an old kitchen. It is quirky and Loose floor tiles, peeling draw fronts a leaky low pressure shower head. Banged my head on the mantle as it is right above the toilet. The walls on the terrace are low - you would need to watch children very carefully.

Reviewed Jun 27, 2026Très bon accueil, chambre agréable, lit confortable. Très bien situé en plein coeur du vieux Gérone, à quelques mètres de la cathédrale. Le jardin intérieur est agréable et magnifique.
Circulation en voiture difficile, beaucoup de marches et montées/descentes dans le quartier: ne convient pas à des personnes à mobilité réduite.

The house is historic and features a charming inner courtyard with plenty of space to relax in the evening. The apartment and its furnishings are traditional and full of character, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate this style. The views over the city rooftops from the second floor add an extra touch of charm and make the experience even more special.

I think they really should switch the lights for warmer lightbulbs, it would be much nicer, but that's nit picking.
