Beautiful location, hotel lovely and cosy with beautiful outdoor area. Breakfast was delicious and breakfast staff very friendly and welcoming .
Welcoming member of staff and barman not very friendly, and room carpet in need of a clean.
Keine Beanstandungen.
Great staff great location good value excellent breakfast
Could have more choice evening menu
Earliest breakfast was 8am which is not helpful when you are on business and need to be at your first appointment at 8am
Breakfast was great and very nice complimentary drink in the room and nice big bathroom.

Great hotel. Helpful staff. Good food.
Nothing.
Rustic, natural materials which felt much better than modern plastic-type feel hotels. All the staff were so friendly, professional and attentive. Lovely food and a good selection of drinks. Nothing was too much trouble. The bathroom shower is the most powerful I have experienced in a hotel, ever.
Having to leave.
The inn was full of character in a great location and just a short walk to Burley village. Good breakfast and restaurant meals
Very bust restaurant in day so lots of visitors, hence no so peaceful but still good
A fabulous location for a couple of days away. Park the car and go walking / eating / drinking !
Beautifully clean
Location was excellent, we were visiting our son in the New Forest. Friendly staff, dog friendly and an excellent breakfast.
Great location, really friendly, room was really comfy and the hotel is very dog friendly
Good location, nice choice of food and wine plus attentive, friendly staff.
Location grounds staff and services accommodation
Because of disabilities access to first floor room
It was all lovely
The bed and pillows were very hard
Location, seclusion and very friendly staff.

Location and ambience
Food was mediocre and never hot
Beautiful hotel in a perfect setting, with some lovely walks through the forest right next to it. Food was good and the staff were also great. Would 100% come back.
Well maintained and cared for
Room was very dark
Ftiendly staff who were eager to please.Great location for lovely walks.
Too many things in rooms like chests, could become a hazzard at night.
Beautiful setting, lovely decor, friendly staff
The dinner menu wasn’t great, not much choice and a little plain
Amazing quiet & beautiful location. Friendly staff, good rooms with extremely comfortable beds.
Staff were fantastic especially Grace.
Relaxed and homely feel. Fresh produce.
An excellent hotel with friendly staff and in a very nice location. Food was very good too. I would certainly stay there again.
Nothing really.
Friendly staff very well presented clean tidy, little extras very nice
Lovely hotel in a brilliant location in the forest just outside of Burley, 10/15 minute walk to the village from the car park. Very attentive and friendly staff especially the breakfast ladies. All the food was excellent it definitely was the best food we had whilst in the new forest, we ended up having dinner here every night because it was so good. The rooms are clean and tidy with everything you would need, large shower tray with a powerful shower. Overall great stay and would come again.
The only gripe we would have was that being an old building you can literally hear everything above and below your room, other guests walking around above, the coffee machines going off 6am, conversations etc etc not so good if you’re a light sleeper.
Location, decor, outside seating, food and drink (both breakfast & dinner), friendly staff
In room - extractor above shower filthy and blocked, shelf above sink falling down, no hand wash (yet other non-essentials such as hair conditioner), glass in bathroom door too transparent
The property is in a wonderful location and very tranquil. The room was great, it had free slippers and a pillow mist too. Comfortable bed, good shower. Coffee machine with Nespresso pods, kettle, teas and biscuits. Fresh milk in a little fridge just outside the room. Great dinner at the restaurant and wonderfully tasting breakfast too. Staff a delight.

Everything
Nothing to dislike
The White Buck is a really lovely place to stay and the setting was beautiful and the rooms was very pleasant the food and service was absolutely amazing , The evening meals service was first class you was attended to very quickly and the food was not long in being served
the only thing was not really a dislike more of i wish this was different the breakfast was outstanding but the only problems is they do not open for breakfast until 08:00 and then there is a big queue that leads to a delay in service as the staff are not able to deal with the rush so as i was on business i9n the area this might not suit business travellers as it was all hands to breakfast service by the staff that was there and this left check in with no one present
good breakfast and great location in the heart of the New Forest, friendly helpful staff
it was all to the standard i expected
Lovely quiet location, good sized room, great breakfast, friendly staff. Plenty of easy parking
Very clean and welcoming Set in a beautiful country setting
Restaurant menu disappointing Not exciting at all and even less so for Vegans
Great setting Very clean and welcoming Looks amazing
Restaurant menu not exciting Definitely no wow factor
Geweldig kader, vriendelijk personeel, zeer kindvriendelijk, top restaurant, mooie locatie

Location great Lovely part of the new forest .Attentive staff
Our room was slightly tired. Needs refreshed in areas
Nothing was a problem if you needed anything
Location
Dirty bathroom doors and tired furniture
Sublime breakfast offering, service a bit slow.
Cute room but very very small - left with a number of bruises from navigating round it.
De ligging is prachtig! Zeer hondvriendelijk! We hebben genoten van de tuin. Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamer is netjes en ruim. De airco was superfijn! Ontbijt was zeer goed! De sfeer is heel prettig. Goede bedden.
Great location very clean and comfy rooms, easy to walk out into the forest. Staff young and helpful. Delicious breakfast.
At dinner starters were exceptional main courses good but a bit confused! Our bath was in our room not great for a mother/son combo!
Lovely setting, great rooms, delicious food and very friendly staff.

This beautiful property has a very old country pub vibe to it while still having small modern twists to it. We loved it. The location is perfect, very secluded and quiet. The food was delicious and the staff so very friendly. Incredibly dog friendly and we got a little welcome pack for our dog which he loved.
Nothing.
The location on the outskirts of Burley with the New Forest right on the doorstep was fab. The general vibe and decor was inviting, and the staff were friendly and enthusiastic. We thought the doggy welcome pack was very thoughtful as was the milk fridge on the landing, demonstrating some great attention to detail.
Our en suite did not have a proper door! There was a saloon door with glass panes - and it didn’t even close fully. There was a significant gap between the two halves of the door. As much as the staff were lovely and helpful, service was slow, particularly at breakfast. The food was interesting, but lacked seasoning.
Location, character, staff
Our bedroom on second floor , badly designed, almost impossible to get into bed one side due to sloping ceiling. Would have been easy to move things around.
Great location, just a short stroll into Burley and very accessible to other parts of the forest and the coast.
Nothing to report.
Breakfast ,room ok for 2 nighs
The veiw .noise from air condirion unit at night ,made a weir sound now and then .
Facilities dog friendly
Stayed here once before and again would rate highly if travelling with or without a pet to explore the new forest area .. The classic rooms are a nice size and live up to the pictures ,friendly staff , breakfast was excellent and a nice evening meal menu reasonably priced. Lovely garden sitting/dining areas that on a nice day is very relaxing with a pleasant atmosphere , you can walk to the village of Burley in 25 mins. Overall the white buck ticks a lot of boxes for us would definitely return again
Second stay in 2 years and still cannot think of anything I didn,t like ......
Very dog friendly, very comfortable lovely room
Breakfast could be better
The Location and the food is wonderful
The room was so hot we could not sleep, the fan was useless
The breakfast is one of the best I have known. A buffet followed by a superb cooked menu. Included in the price - and probably worth £20 per head.
Access to our room was a bit full of narrow corridors and stairs. Even a few stairs to the bathroom.
Location is perfect for exploring the New Forest and nearby coast. Breakfast was good. Also had two members of our party in an accessibility room which was great for them and relatively cool in the hot weather
Unreliable wifi, frosted glass bathroom doors allow little privacy for occupant, dirty skylight windows, low water pressure, lukewarm shower. By far the worst point however is that in summer, the roof rooms are (or should be) unusable. We knew there was no air conditioning but we made the mistake of thinking a 4-star hotel would somehow be vaguely comfortable. The hotel must know these rooms are impossibly hot but they do little to mitigate, just a standing fan to blow the already hot air around. No fridge so even the drinking water can't stay cool. I get that you can't always put AC in these old buildings but the hotel should do much more to help for the price that they charge.
Very nice hotel in a lovely location. Excellent food
Super room and helpful friendly staff.
Unfortunately due to the heat wave the room was very hot with only fans to help. Not the hotels fault just bad luck.
Everything was lovely, a lot of attention to detail with things, ie fresh milk available all the time for coffees, slippers, pillow spray etc. they seemed to have thought of everything to make your stay as good as they could. Staff were very attentive and all very friendly and cheery despite the heatwave. We will definitely stay again!
Couldn’t be helped at all with this weather! But If I had to give one thing would just be in this heatwave loft rooms very warm, but was informed they will be getting air con in the future and we did have 2 fans in our room which made it a bit more bearable.
Beautiful and peaceful location with a great garden area for drinks and dining. Lovely historic building that has been tastefully decorated. Great breakfast menu included in the price. Great dinner menu and outdoor dining experience although in the very hot weather more lighter meal options would have been better. The food overall was good quality and good portion sizes. Good selection of wines and beers including low alcohol. Comfortable bed and nice room decor. Liked the coffee machine. Plenty of easy access parking and a definite plus was not being charged for parking. Friendly staff and easy check in and out. Excellent location for exploring the surrounding New Forest area.
Rooms were too hot in this weather and the fan provided did nothing but move hot air around so we didn't sleep well at all which spoilt the stay. Couldn't open the windows more than a couple of inches so no breeze to help cool the room. With climate change, this hotel needs to invest in better air conditioning for guest comfort at these prices. The bathroom was disappointing - shower was a dribble and one shower head kept falling over so couldn't use it, needed cleaning, mould in the grout, the sink wasn't cleaned daily nor the toilet. Worst was the glass door into the bathroom which meant you could see everything including someone on the toilet! Light fixture had not been cleaned and had cobwebs. Windows were filthy and covered in cobwebs. Breakfast took ages to be served despite few people actually in the dining room. The poached eggs were overcooked when the food did arrive.
We got a beautiful cottage room, felt so cozy in nature with the comforts of a delicious restaurant right at the property. So many lovely details, and the staff was amazing. Had a lovely stay with my daughter. As I really wanted to see a little of New Forest on our visit to the UK.
We had one night stay in a Classic double room. Having read reviews and seen photos I had expected a room with a decent view rather than looking over the car park. There was no comfortable chair provided in the room ( as shown in photos ) and the room involved a rather tedious access route up and down some steep and narrow stairs. The window frames were in a very poor condition and could do with a repaint. Apart from that the Hotel is lovely with nice gardens and excellent dining. The staff were all very nice and helpful.
As outlined above.
Small room , soft bed ,overpriced food
Lovely building, friendly staff. Excellent food.
Windows very cobwebbed and dusty.
Great location, staff were exceptional, very helpful
Stayed last year similar time of year, found it must more expensive this year
The location and the staff we friendly
The cushion on the bed was covered with dog fur the chest of drawers are broken on the top and the shower was coming off the wall and had a part missing and the towels were leaving fluffy stuff on our skin after having a shower
Situated in the heart of a forest 🌳 what could be better, nice view of garden, helpful staff and comfortable bed!
Only thing that was an issue was the dinner, starters delicious but main courses had to be sent back as steak and duck very over cooked. Staff were apologetic and a discount on the bill. All dealt with very well.
We were upgraded to a very large room with extras such as a free drink at the bar. Other little touches made a difference, such as bottled water in the room, fresh milk, bath robes, lovely toiletries. Great breakfast. Fantastic large outside seating area for eating and drinking. Great space inside in the bar and restaurant area.
Some fittings looking a little tired, bit pricey for what is basically a pub.
Location ,friendly staff ,good breakfast and airconditioned room .
Not a wide choice on the dinner menu and wine quite expensive
great location, lovely building
First staff meeting. We arrived a little early and were told tp go away and come back at 3.00 oclock. Fair enough though but no welcome etc!
Location, food and service were great
Room 11 needs the window which is painted shut to be openable and there needs to be more milk bottles in the communal fridge, minimum or at least 1 per room and the response that they do as many bottles as they can is a bit weak, easy to buy more bottles or use jam jars however this did improve on the second night. Small fridges in all rooms would be better, they aren’t expensive and take up very little room
Beautiful setting with a woodland walk nearby. The room was large and well shaded. Breakfast was very good with superb service.
Had character
No issues
Nice room, good dinner and nice breakfast
Service was patchy and in some cases careless. At dinner we were left for long periods without being looked after.
Room was brilliant, looked small from outside but was very spacious inside, good quality air van in room .
Messy grounds, tv WiFi didn't work.
Food and service was excellent
nil
Location and room was very good

Lovely location. Lovely hotel. Breakfast is fantastic. Only improvement would be an open window in the attic rooms, it got very hot, even with a fan!!

This Hotel was beautiful without being to over the top, you could relax wherever you were in the hotel and the staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly. The idea of the two accessible rooms being ground floor with their own entrance was made so easy to get around, the room was very comfortable and beautifully set out to make getting around in a wheelchair very easy.
Theirs not really anything I didn’t like about the property, it would have helped to have a hand grip guard on one side of the bed to make getting in and out of bed a little easier, I did mange but it was very difficult indeed!
Honestly one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in! So comfortable, clean and thoughtfully done. I loved this place and am genuinely looking forward to returning
I thought the breakfast could use work. Found it a bit bland and cold, bread wasn’t great
Location
Poor choice for vegetarian in restaurant.
Great location and a very pleasant stay! Very charming and the food/wine are very good!!!
Nothing, loved it here
Nice place to stay
The hotel is nice, comfortable, and welcoming. The breakfast has many options and is delicious, but there's one thing I'd like to comment on: the cleanliness. I think it's not good enough. The downstairs shared bathroom for men and women was very dirty and smelly. My room in the bathroom on the first night smelled not very nice not clean properly , but on the second night was okay.
Great stay
The location is perfect to enjoy the New Forest. The staff and welcoming and friendly and the food is good too.
Had a great stay at the White Buck. Staff was friendly, loved their cosy traditional decor and their terrace too: perfect for an al fresco meal or drink. Their breakfast was very good too. Would recommend.
Great location in the New Forest. near burley - easy 15 min walk. Friendly helpful staff Actually dog friendly rather than dog tolerant like so many places. They have a dog wash station Breakfast included - and they actually cook to order not just a buffet
Ev charging was very limited. Otherwise nothing
Stopped there at least 10 times, and all the rooms are clean we and good size apart from this time room 12 in the attic is extremely dangerous getting out of bed the roof is at such a angle its at 5 foot so you have to be very carefull getting out if bed. As it's right on the side of the bed with a sharp edge running the length of the bed . On leaving the bed to go to the bathroom, you've got the same problem, only difference there is padding to soften the bang on your head
loved county setting, beautifully decorated with friendly helpful staff
Absolutely loved this property! It was beautiful and in such a lovely location. You felt properly immersed in nature. The staff were fabulous. The breakfast in the morning was delectable. There was a small buffet of pastries, cereals, yoghurts, toasts and more. Then you were also able to select from a large menu for items such as a full English or French toast etc. We also booked a Sunday lunch at the property and it was one of the best I have ever had, especially as a vegetarian! Overall, it was a perfect weekend break away!

Great location - you can walk into the New Forest from the hotel. Beautiful building and outdoor space. Professional and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

The white buck was in beautiful surroundings and the grounds really well kept!. They up graded our bedroom has it was my husbands birthday, which was a lovely thing to do. The staff couldn't do enough for you, you didn't have to wait very long for food and drink either. Asking any questions they would come back with a prompt answer. All in all a pleasurable experience..would definitely recommend
Perhaps more vegetarian options on the menu
Great location Lovely room Breakfast was delicious
The bed was a little uncomfortable for me
Everything! Lovely people, great food, cozy and full of old world charm
