The view
Cold water, even to take a bath
Everything and the price
It was clean and that they had a gate

Two story place
bad pillows
Lovely premise. Nicely laid out with a beautiful view
After check out, we were not able to leave our luggage in a secure area. They told us we needed to extend our room for 370 pesos / £12 despite having no other guests and plenty of empty rooms that could have been used for this purpose. We therefore had to leave with our big backpacks and subsequently could not visit the cultural museum or any art galleries. This hotel ruined our Ajijic visit with this decision. On top of this, no hot water, ceiling fan did not work but we would have overlooked this if they were accommodating.
Everything!!!
The room and the privacy.
When we arrived the personal treated us into a really bad way and we can't pay with card because their terminal doesn't work.

It was very quiet and relaxing. We had a very enjoyable stay here. Everyone could not do enough for us. Would highly recommend it but you do need to rent a car.
Lake views were lovely. Clean, comfortable bed. Birds in the lake and in the garden were a welcome sight.
A tea kettle and some coffee would be a great addition. We arrived at 7:30 P.M., and nobody was available for check in. The problem was solved after a phone call, though. Be sure to inform the hotel when you will be arriving.
The hotel has very overall nice facilities right on the waterfront. The bad review I'm giving it is due to the fact that the shower in the bathroom didn't work. It had no pressure at all and the water was tepid or lukewarm at best. In January, Ajijic was kind of chili in the morning. We had planned an early rise to continue our trip, onwards with our drive through Jalisco state and to Leon, Gto. So we had to forgo our planned morning shower. The manager on duty assured us that we just needed to let the water "heat up" and to not mind the waste, it would all go to a recycling facility. But it was useless. No water pressure and no warm water. Definitely not what I paid for.
We could have used a working shower! nice enough staff. couldn't get the shower in our bathroom to work
Great location and a very pretty property
It took 15+ minutes for the hot water to finally work. No TV in main room, only in 1 bedroom
The view
Horrible. The kitchen ceiling has water damage and/or mold. Lots of it. And the upstairs sink and toilet have no water. This place is beyond horrible. While the front desk person was very nice, he claimed the credit card processor was down so wanted cash instead. The pictures are deceiving. Stay far away.
Very clean. Lovely vista. Our host was very nice.
Room wasn't cleaned during the day (this was a two-night stay.) Didn't mind, but I'm very coffee dependent, and the coffee was not replaced for the pot. That is really my only complaint, and it's a small one. On the whole, it was a very nice hotel.
Boutique hotel with fully equipped apartment. Very happy with our stay
Tranquilidad, belleza
Estuvo chido
Check in was great and staff was very professional
Special
Rooms are nice, right on the lake. Not much in the neighborhood.
No contestaron para poder hacer el check in
poor internet service.
Todo muy bien. Solo que no tiene restaurante
Bottled water was appreciated. Bed side table was dirty. Bedroom curtains were stained.
Todo excelente! El hotel sencillo pero todo bien
We booked a stay for 2 nights through Orbitz.com and upon check in we realized the pool was not working and was indeed a mosquito breeding pond. OK...I get it, sometimes properties undergo renovations but at least empty out the pool water? The biggest deception, however, was when we entered our room (2 pieces of large luggage, no elevator) and tried to work from our room on our laptops. No wifi. Guy at the from desk said wifi only worked in the common areas (they lie and say it works in the bedrooms but it doesn't) and well we deal with sensitive info/conversations so that was the deal breaker. Front desk guy spoke with the owner, who agreed to refund us all our money but now they are nowhere to be found by Orbitz to issue the full refund.
Extremely friendly staff. Very clean and amazing stay. Everything was on point, looked like it had recently been renovated. Amazing view, we had a car but there were two great restaurants 5 minutes walk away. I would definitely stay here again.
There’s no person to attend guests needs. Also no person to check you in after 8:00 pm.
Very difficult to find, not listed on Google maps under this name and front desk seemed unable to give any directions! The room was not clean especially the floor. The shower was literally just a trickle, you could barely get wet and I had to find a salon to wash my hair, and the bed was like sleeping on bags of concrete. They did NOT provide water for the room and when we asked they told us they ran out. There were not kayaks for rent as stated and no amenities were provided at all. Everything they promised in the advertisement was a lie. After 3 days of no sleep we ended our vacation early. We had to pay to change our flights so we are going to request a refund. I highly recommend you STAY AWAY!
I would not stay here again, but it's not because it's a bad place. We took an Uber from the Guadalaraja airport, which is around a 40 minute drive. Unfortunately, Uber doesn't have this place correctly mapped. Which meant the Uber driver had to stop and ask about 6 different people how to get here. Which cost us more money since it took an additional 30 minutes to find the hotel. There is a sign on the left side of the road that says La Riberena, that's the ONLY way you'll find it if you've never been here. Or, in Google Maps, enter "Finca La Riberena". That takes you right to it. It's actually a former residence, and is nestled amongst other residences, right on the lake. It's also very out of the way, and there are very few restaurants within walking distance. When we finally found the hotel at 7pm, we were hungry but there were no Ubers or taxis available. Fortunately, the clerk that checked us in gave us a menu of a place that delivered. The hotel has tables and chairs, but didn't show any sign of offering food. The grounds are well taken care of. The room itself (#9) was upstairs on the corner, so we had a great view of the lake. The room was clean, the bathroom could have been better. Wifi was really good, so we were able to watch Netflix. We took a bus to Chapala, 9 pesos (50 cents). Next time we'll stay in Chapala, just because there is so much more within walking distance.
I would not stay here again, but not because of the place. First time for us in Ajijic or Chapala, we flew in to Guadalajara, and took an Uber to the hotel. Unfortunately, La Riberena is incorrectly mapped within the Uber app, AND on Google Maps. Which meant our Uber driver had to ask 6 people how to get here. The time spent trying to find the hotel resulted in a higher Uber cost for us. Plus it was dark, which made it even more difficult to find. The hotel is a former residence, nestled amongst other residences. No large signs. TIP: If you type in FINCA LA RIBERENA, Uber and Google Maps will be able to find the hotel. Next, there are very few restaurants within walking distance, and very few taxi drivers available (at least that was our experience on the night we checked in). Zero Uber drivers. We were hungry and fortunately for us, there was a place in Ajijic that delivered food. Now on to the room. They put us in #9, an upstairs corner room. Great view of the lake. The room itself was clean. Bed a little hard, because it sits on a concrete base. Wifi was strong enough to allow us to surf, and to watch Netflix before bed. Big shower, hot water (took a while to get hot, but once hot, had to turn it down). Nice, thick towels. I wouldn't stay here again because it was too far away from where we wanted to be. If you like super quiet and total relaxation, this might be the place for you. There are tables and chairs, but no indication that this hotel offers any food.
That is a nice a comfortable place, good clean room, our room had small kitchen. Secure, quiet, parking for a car on premises. Cons: for $114/night hot water was barely running from the shower head. No breakfast included.
The staff members were great. It was very quiet and relaxing.
Don’t come here. Our room was dank, the bathroom was dirty with mold, shower didn’t work, sink didn’t drain. No heat and weather at night is in the 40s. Left the next day. Manager said he would fully refund our deposit. We have not received it. He evades our Attempts to contact him...says he does not speak English ! He won’t answer the phone.
Our room was dirty with mold in the bathroom. The shower didn’t work. The sink didn’t drain. We were very cold in the night as the room is not heated. The manager offered us another room the next day. We just wanted to leave and we Did. The manager said that he would give us a full refund of our deposit..$570.00. We have yet to see it. Contact with the manager is poor as he is unavailable and claims that he doesn’t speak English. I am disputing the charge with Visa. Beware...stay away. Alan Mendelssohn.
Excelente atención, camas súper cómodas, ofrecen desayuno a precio accesible.
The lake view is nice. The grounds are nice. The apartment-like room is big. Nice hot shower and plumbing worked good. Front desk person was nice and helpful. The room was NOT clean (I wiped the stairs and floors down the first day--ended up with a very dirty towel.) We had to buy a no-stick pan, cutting board, sharp knife. We bought our own coffee. If you stay more than a few days arrange room cleaning with front desk person, as it won't happen automatically between 9 and noon, like you may be used to.
All of the properties and the staff was great.the view of the pool and lake was outstanding. The area the hotel was in was quiet and easy to get to.
It was amazing villa with a gorgeous look at the river.
I stayed in the villa without the lake view. Villa has a living room and kitchen downstairs, and bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Very clean with great wifi service. Property is lakefront and kayaks are available to use included with the price. Has a nice hangout terrace with large TV next to the pool. I stayed during a weekday so only 4 rooms (out of 9) were occupied. Very quiet neighborhood. Property is extremely secure. Downside was the parking. Extremely tight spot. The car gate entrance has to be opened manually by you. Oxxo store about 4 min walk but very dark after the sun goes down.
The hotel it’s nice but the bed was horrible. It’s very hard and you can feel the bed springs, couldn’t sleep and woke up with back pain.
It is a small, traditional charming and comfortable hotel
Quiet place on the lake, great price, loved it
The property is beautiful! My only complaints are that it is a long walk to town from the location. Although there are busses and taxis available. Also there seemed to be a lack of room supplies such as hair conditioner, coffee, tissue paper. The staff did however make us a pot of coffee outside on the patio.
The place is nice enough if you get a room with a kitchen. It is far away from the action and food. Spent a lot of money for taxi sometimes took the bus.Cobble stone road with no lights was too difficult to navigate at night. The room and bathroom were nice. However, the curtains were dirty. The bedding was old and had hair on it. And, the bed was hard as a rock. The bathroom was very roomy and nice and the shower worked well. The pool didn’t look clean enough to swim. The lake view and setting is excellent. The ad online said that breakfast was available for $6 dollars, but there was no food and sometimes no coffee for our room. Also, my room didn’t lock. The service people were very helpful and make it ok.
Beautiful place, but lacked personal attention, for instant, making sure our linens were free of stains and that we had enough toilet paper and coffee accessories. Nice and quiet. We wish there was a small bedside table and a garbage can for the room.
Place is a little far from town center and far from public transportation, but is good value for your money, i loved the setup of the unit, with everything you need, including 2 full baths, the hotel is not that big and it looked like we were the only people staying in the property, we got the town home unit good for a cuple with kids, the pool was ok, there was a playground for small kids, no food at the hotel, if you want to eat you need to drive a couple blocks from hotel, i really like the place, i will come back again in the near future
Nice two story hotel with lake view. Beautiful property, would definately stay again.
This property is small and very quiet, a sharp contrast to the last place we stayed in the area. We may have been the only guests the first night of our stay. Our room was very basic, fairly clean, with new bathroom fixtures. We did have to take the coffee maker into the bathroom and use an extension cord we had brought in order to plug it in. Housekeeping just rinsed our used cups in the bathroom sink. I know this only because they were left next to the sink on one occasion. There is a nice area with several tables and chairs and a large stainless steel grill as well as a tiny (3 stools) bar area. We never saw any activity there. The parking is quite tight, tiny cars only. The gate is manually operated and most of the time there was someone there to help with that. There is plenty of outdoor space, a pool and play area, as well as an up-close view of Lake Chapala. The wireless internet was good, the TV reception fair. Overall, a budget-friendly 'base of operations'.
Beautiful location! My wife & I truly did enjoy it & recommend it! Great little swimming pool! Attractive furnishings! The 24 hour staff persons were great! However housekeeping was a bit lax, and we had to ask front desk for things which should have been taken care of by housekeeping personnel. Sometimes they would forget to replace toilet paper or something. One day when we particularly requested room service we did not receive it. Only one set of keys is available per room.
great view of lake and mountains from room …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Nicely upgraded, modern rooms and suites offer quiet and peaceful sleep. The infinity pool is a pleasant way to relax and lounge chairs offer a view of Lake Chapala and some beautiful sunsets. Ten minute walk up the hill to the main road, buses and an Italian restaurant. Two miles outside of Ajijic so somewhat remote.
This place really is a hidden gem! I loved my 2 story, 1 bedroom villa, It is off the beaten path, and quiet, but there are restaurants within walking distance, and the bus stops right up the hill. I had a blast on the kayak, and the staff are so nice, and go out of their way to make sure you have what you need. Thanks Jose and Alberto!
Staff where friendly and helpful, room was spacious and clean with a patio and a lake view. Grounds were pleasant and well treed with secure parking.
