Majestic Mansions – Apartments at St Clair

Loved the location and the staff were wonderful, had a visit from Clive the cat, such a charmer. Really enjoyed the apartment, so much more convenient than a hotel/motel room. Very comfy bed, lots of space in the room, great outlook.

Struggled with the cook top in the kitchen, dim lighting made it difficult to the see the dial positions. Shower curtain in the bathroom is a bit inefficient, left water in puddles outside the shower area. Looking forward to seeing how the renovations improve the facilities.

Location was perfect for our latest stay in Dunedin. Although we have not stayed in St. Clair before we will again as we visit a few times each year

Bathroom shower was a bit challenging with circular curtain and water splashing. But we became used to this

It was clean and comfortable. Very close to the beach and an easy trip into Dunedin Quite a few local restaurants and cafes which were good.

No lift and a bit faded round the edges. Apparently it is closing in August to be refurbished.

The location and facility was perfect. Clean, warm and comfortable so close to the beach and cafes.

The water coming out of the taps was extremely hot and could have been dangerous for children.

The building is a gorgeous historical masterpiece, so it looks magnificent as you're driving up to it. Our apartment was well appointed, clean, comfortable, and with superb views of the city and the beach; it really felt like we were going back in time for a holiday to the seaside. The owner was so nice and accommodating - a real star.

The location is incredible, a short walk to the beach and restaurants, the view (sea view), the heritage features and size of bedroom and the apartment, the comfy bed, very clean, loved sitting in the enclosed verandah with sea view.

Most not a dislike just a please be aware there are lots of stairs to climb for the view (not a problem for everyone), sash windows can make a noise and difficult to open (part of heritage charm), the wet shower in the bathroom (pressure excellent but be prepared to mop the floor afterwards), TV is not a smart TV I don't think, sky channels have no movie options, no chrome castor so a bit frustrating - bring your own entertainment.

4 flights of Stairs were a tough surprise I was not prepared for and the windows were rattling.

Beautiful location and lovely building. Easy access. The heater kept us nice and warm.

As the rooms are only serviced every second day (which is fine) it would’ve been nice to have a bit more tea, coffee etc. Also complimentary shampoo etc would’ve been appreciated. TV in our room very temperamental.

Location right on the Esplanade, easy walking distance to restaurants. The apartment was well laid out and had everything we needed.

the staff were so lovely, we decided last minute to upgrade our room upon check in and she helped us make that process quick and easy - the highlight of our stay was in this hotel!

The shower is a little bit strange as the entire floor gets wet - otherwise no complaints at all :)

I thought the location was very good and once you know your way around everything is a lot easier

If your older there maybe issues with the stairs and getting your luggage up and down and you may not be able to park underneath

Second time on this trip we stayed here and loved it just as much. We canceled a different booking to be here because of the location and cleanliness.

The heaters were turned on and the apartment was warm and welcoming on a very cold day

The location was excellent. The rooms were clean. Parking was good.

Steps leading to the rooms were a struggle with the luggage. It would have been nice to see staff to give a bit of a human contact.

I really wanted to love the Majestic and we did pay the lowest rate so probably got the worst room but the traffic noise meant very little sleep and the TV kept losing all channels. We were exhausted after a few days on the road and really wanted a comfortable bed and to relax. Sadly we didn't get that.

Doors banging all night, people in the floor above walking round all night. Shower is a curtain and drain in a vinyl floor with lots of black mould above. No oven which was pictured, couldnt heat our pizza.

Spotless & good vibes. Close to restaurant & ocean. The facilities were perfect- washing machine easy to operate & drier beside it. My friend stayed in apartment next to me. Lovely kitchen & separate lounge.

All the concrete steps from the road up to front entrance( I have a sore back) Lugging the suitcase (cabin size) up 20 steps from the car was difficult.

Location is excellent. We were on the top floor with amazing views of St. Clair beach. It was lovely to have a drink in the 'bar room' and look out at the beautiful view.

Good location and we like an Italian restaurant near the apartment.

The apartment is very small not as described in booking.com. The reason for us to do the booking for this apartment in booking.com. is the room size 40m., entire apartment. But we have the room with private bathroom size about 25m.

Like: Location near the beach, restaurants and supermarket Dislike: Very old building, no lifts, but new renovation ancient style, small kitchen and bathroom - Bathroom, no separate wet and dry zones it is very slippery. - Small kitchen, not suitable for cooking
