Quintas Papagayo

Post; The grounds are nice. Rooms are rustic and comfortable. It's next to Marina so we had cool view. The security guard at the front gate was super chill. Neg: The amount of rules they have are exhausting. I probably won't stay there often. You cannot even have any visitors at all. They didn't have the dish I ordered at the restaurant. They wanted you wear some paper bracelets like a club. No thanks! The wifi didn't work most of the time.

Cabin had a very distinct smell. Bathroom especially needs a touch up.

The grounds are safe and secured, Soriana is a block down the street & The main harbor and central Ensenada is about an eight to ten minute drive. Staff and restaurant were friendly and attentive. Thank you

Blankets and pillows smells, doble doors and principal door with just one unsafe lock, bathroom ceiling leaking, walls and windows not good enough to support the noise from outside, bad experience that I didn’t want to stay for the second night that I paid for it.

Las puertas de lso cuartos estan todas carcomidas, me astille abriendo el closet de lo vieja que esta la madera, la bañera esta manchada de tan vieja. Tiene mucho potencial el hotel pero requiere uegentemente remodelarse

Everyone was friendly, especially the guard at the gate (the entrance) Martin was very polite, friendly and helpful. Told me where the closest store was and how to get there, always with a bright smile on his face. Property is beautiful, comfy, quiet and close to the ocean. Reception was also nice and all staff, there are many home-like places to stay, it’s like a little town not a hotel. The only thing I didn’t quite like was the mattress, it was way to soft and wobbly. But other than that I give the whole experience 9/10, would definitely come back and also recommend it.

We arrived very early and they helped us find parking and we got our key later. Very helpful and beautiful spot. Greta service. Will definitely be back!

Great little homes on or steps to the ocean. The property is an experience by itself

We went for a getaway weekend and stayed at this property. It is somewhat old but in a nice location near a marina, highway, and restaurants.

Overall great. Only negative they tried to keep my deposit over a dirty towel with reception

La quinta está en buenas condiciones, nada extraordinario, entiendo que es temporada baja pero para que anunciar que tienen jacuzzi si no lo activan hasta el verano, chalet espacioso pero muy viejo , falta remodelación.

Always it’s pleasure stay on these place.

Place was great! Looks like they're making improvements on it, so I hope they keep the fireplaces and beach cabin feel.

Beautiful view of the ocean but the rooms need a serious upgrade. Also, it's listed that there's room service or stovetop in room, and that's incorrect.

Staff at front desk was courteous and overall good. I’ve stayed at this property a couple years back with a friend and remembered house to be nice. That being said, the OCEANFRONT CHALET that I rented for 4 people SHOULD NOT BE RENTED OUT UNTIL RENOVATIONS HAVE BEEN DONE. House is VERY OUTDATED and UNSAFE. Some of the “amenities” like a hair dryer have been there since Mexico was founded, it literally came apart when touched. Press 0 to call front desk they said, oh wait NO PHONE. You have to make an international call from your phone if you want to reach the front desk. ATLEAST 2 of the tiles on the floor are very loose. My girlfriend actually TRIPPED ON LOOSE TILE AND CUT HER LEG AND HURT HER HAND/BACK TRYING TO BREAK THE FALL. The shower is super small. If you’re a big / tall person, good luck. It was very cold nights, made that international phone call to reach the front desk, asked if they could bring more firewood and was never told there was an extra charge until the worker who brought it dropped it off. $120MXN which is not alot but front desk should at least inform you of these charges. And speaking of charges, IF YOU USED ANYTHING IN THE KITCHEN, MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN AND WASH EVERYTHING, even the stuff you didn’t use because they will CHARGE YOU $200MXN once you go check out if you don’t. Again .. was never told this before hand. GF went back go wash dishes and worker had dumped EVERYTHING (even unused) in the sink so she could wash it. 2.5 stars at best right now

Nice and comfy

The place overall is very nice. The personnel very welcoming. However, there is too much noise early morning in the surrounding areas. One of the lamps from the night stand wasn’t working. No too much privacy while in the room for there are people always walking along the beach.

Cute place. Nice views and the place was enjoyable. You may want to bring a mat for the floor or some slippers for extra comfort.

It just wasn’t the best experience. The WiFi did not work for the entire 3 days of our stay. It was confirmed it wasn’t working on apple products but we were told it should work on any other products. This was not true in our case. The display for the TV was static. The walls are paper thing in the cabin so I heard our neighbors TV all night til 12am and then early in the morning. Hearing them talk was awful when you’re trying to rest. It was truly the worst part of it. We had a fire place and we were given wood but the wood was damp so it took a tremendous amount of effort to light a fire. The pool was a nice touch but it was cold during our stay and we were hoping the jacuzzi would warm up. But it did not. The jets worked but the temperature stayed as cold as the pool. It wasn’t a bad place to stay it just felt like we couldn’t relax. The bed was also very soft so sleeping was uncomfortable. I’d sink into my spouse and I’d have to constantly move out of the sunken area.

It’s a beautiful place and the view to the ocean Amazing. Looks exactly like the pictures.

The price and the ocean so close

Few steps and you find the ocean. Very clean and comfy. Easy park. Very Nice tab restaurant. Great location. Great price for the benefits.

I just wish they could of given us a tour of the property. We didn't know it had a pool ,and that there was a heater in the cabin.

The property needs a major remodeling in the junior suites. Shower heads, sinks, and other furniture are old. There is still a nice view and very quiet due to the several rules they have, like no parties, which is great.

Quiet and secure place

We had never stayed here before, and since we were staying one night only, we opted for the junior suite. Finding the office after entering the property was a little challenging as there isn’t parking for the office. The junior suite was good size, basic room with nice view, but the floors were so cold we kept our shoes on and would not have survived the night without the little portable heater they provided, and that’s with wearing sweats to bed. We stayed Valentine’s Day. The property has great potential, especially with the mid-century modern cottages…looked like Bedrock or Palm Springs. However, it’s a mish-mash, with a variety of architectural styles and useless areas with so much potential. The pool was all made up for pics with towels and such but cold as ice. No spa. The bar seemed to be newly built but had no architectural commonality except for a pitched roof. We had 2 margaritas for $20 US dollars…way too much and way too small. Extremely limited menu. I did have a beer tasting which was good. Just a strange area, with 3 bottles of liquor shown and beer taps right in front of the sports tv. Maybe there’s a new owner? Or this place needs a new owner? It has potential and someone that knows what they’re doing with the property and defined goals for this place. I’d go back to stay in one of the cottages but nothing else. I wouldn’t go to the bar/restaurant as it stands now. Someone please come in that knows how to creat a successful resort. We have many ideas!!

Property was great. Rooms were pretty good a little bit noisy, but had to do with a car alarm going off. Wish they had more Mexican ions on the menu at the restaurant/bar. Other than that it was an excellent spot would totally recommend.

This place is very old and dated. The furniture is old and falling apart. The shower tiles were missing and just filled in with plaster, the rooms have no A/C. Obviously the owners are not trying to invest too much money in some of these units. I stayed in room 102. Beware of that building! Im glad i did not bring a lady here.

What i liked the most was the location, and surroundings were great.Also the beer at the bar is great. We did have to upgrade to another room for 600 pesos more due to us not noticing that the one we got only had a fan and no A/C and it was a hot room because the sun was hitting it on the front. When we upgraded the room it was almost the same, just this one had a Minisplit all the way by the bathroom and a fan on the ceiling (that did not work) but since it was small (Minosplit 1 ton i belive) it wasn't cooling the room enough so we called in to the reception and the night receptionist refused to give us another fan when there was others available and started questioning us in a rude way in why we wanted a fan when we already had a/c. (If they didn't have a fan i would've undestood and also if he would of kindly told us , but NO he was RUDE so that we did not like at all, we ended up having to sleep uncomfortable due to that so most likely this will not be an option later on. At least not for us

Don't like that you can't use jacuzzi Monday-thursday, no bathroom open or available in pool area or near. No regular TV channels in English. Too much construction on property moving dirt around near pool.

Rooms have a nice rustic feel, but a bit outdated. Shower is old with a door that leads to exterior being held by a small nailed piece of wood. Front and back doors need to have better locks. Feels insecure with only a sliding lock held by two screws on rear entrance near public walking path . Yet, views were amazing and property/pool area were very nice .Rooms and living room were very spacious. A slight remodel would upgrade and enhance the Casitas tremendously.

Its a very scenic property. The buildings are aged, built in 1947. The pool and jacuzzi were being remodeled. Room service could be better. The restaurant and bar are top notch.

The hotel is nice my room was amazing i have the garden area neer to the ocean view, like the restaurant too the service was amazing in the restaurant. Love my stay in quintas. I recommend a 💯 thank you.

Qintas Papagayo is a unique gem!

We really liked this hotel. Convenient location, on the water, just outside of town center. It felt friendly and safe, and we loved being on the shore. It's a little old-fashioned, even slightly funky feel, but we like that - it's not slick, no pool, but very comfortable and good-looking. We had a beautiful water view. Nice low-key walkway along the water, that starts at the hotel and goes south. Couldn't get wifi the first day, but that mostly cleared up and luckily we didn't care very much. The bar and restaurant - and wine bar - not affiliated with the hotel i don't think - are very good, which was really great one night we were too tired to go out and still had a great meal.

Great location right on water, our unit was a little worn out, could use an update. Just wear and tear from being waterfront. Several units were being remodeled.

This place has a nice location along the shore but no beach. I think at one time it was probably very nice but sadly it’s glory days are over. A lot of deferred maintenance that could make it a lot better. Ornamental planters but no plants, chipped paint, tile and unfinished repairs; pool area under renovation; jacuzzi cold; none of the room windows latched; kitchen stove that won’t light. Wifi was terrible with it not working as often as it worked. I finally resorted to going to Walter’s bar and getting better wifi. Also note that there is no central heat or air. This was January and outside temps in the high 40’s made inside temps in the 50’s. They did provide an infrared space heater but it didn’t heat it well. Still, the bed was comfortable and the room was large by today’s standards. I needed something last minute for several days and the price here was reasonable.

The view was amazing. The fire place was icing on the cake. Will definitely come back on our next visit.

This place has lots of potential. However, this with water leak, lights not working, one of the TV’s not working and the other wifi not working, I do not recommend. Express my concern to front office and they offer no solutions for us.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom chalet. Amazing time! Comfortable beds! Super clean! Fireplace. Walk to the beach. Restaurant on site has amazing food and drinks! Affordable prices. Staff was amazing!!

individual private stay, with security to property. very roomy grounds and cabins. Does need maintenance, cushions in rooms or pool area very dirty. the cabin needs full remodel. no bathrooms in pool area.

Great place to stay if you are not picky since it is a little outdated but they do have upgrade rooms that are the chalets facing garden they are slowly upgrading. Close to downtown about 3 min drive and there is a brewery and a nice little breakfast/lunch spots walking distance. Did not try the restaurant on the premises. There is beach access but you have to walk on rocks and there is a beachfront walk way

Beautiful location but broken bed and very noisy in the morning with construction.

I liked that the property was very close to the ocean. It appears that they are remodeling so I must have gotten one of the older properties. Other than that it was pleasant. If I was to go again I would ask for a newer one.

Near downtown but also right by the beach.

For the most part our stay was really nice. Our studio looked clean and nice. The part that we found unacceptable was that we arrived early and were told that we couldn’t check in until 3 which is understandable but then when we got there at 3 we were told the room was still not ready to go back at 3:30 or wait until they called us. We waited for an hour and no call. We received a key an hour later and to top it all off they gave us the wrong key. We started it off a bit rough but We really enjoyed the pool. Didn’t really get to go the beach. There are too many rocks.

I like the property

Incredibly beautiful area near the property and felt like a very authentic place to stay. The cabana with oceanside views was simply beautiful. Would’ve liked more smaller towels (only had one) and a hair dryer for the bathroom. It was nice to have a full kitchen but didn’t really make use of it. It’s close enough to town that Ubers back and forth were plentiful and only cost a few dollars, and there are some restaurants and other things in the immediate area as well. Would love to come back!

I loved this place. Great view, beautiful room and in a gated community. I will definitely be coming back soon.

the person on the front desk did not offer anything ask him a couple question about the motel very quiet did not answer if you do t ask he wont offer himself told him about the restuarant he did not know anything about it, no costumer service add all. needs coaching.

The moment we entered Quintas Papagayo I was already planning our return trip. This hotel is so beautiful and by far one of the best places to stay in Ensenada. We booked a room on the beach and were blown away at how huge it was! It even had a full kitchen with appliances and supplies had we needed to cook. The bathroom was also great, shower had excellent water pressure. Our view was insane and waking up to the blue water of the pacific was a dream in itself. We also felt extremely safe since the community is gated and guarded. Our next door neighbors were a little rowdy at midnight and I am not one to complain, however I did call after realizing it may not subside and security had them quiet down within minutes. The tiled floor was also one of my favorites and our deck/balcony was large and private and I was able to do some work on the chairs they provided. The beach access and pathways are well done and made exploring the property extra magical. It's an extremely clean resort. The gentleman who checked us in was extremely accommodating and let us check in early. I cannot recommend this place enough and will be sure that all my friends stay there when asking for Ensenada recommendations. Also- there is a great cafe around the corner La Flor De La Calabeza that is farm to table sustainable, healthy and affordable that is a must for breakfast. We unfortunately did not have time to try the restaurant on-site but plan to when we return.

The check in and check out was very quick and easy, the view of the ocean it’s pretty nice and the hotel inside and out was clean and decent. I would go back there again. Like my stay at Quintas Papagayos!!!!!

I enjoyed my stay at Quintas Papagayo. Check-In was easy, the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. I give extra credit to the room service folks, they work hard and actually ask you if you need anything during your stay, very pleased stay.

Great room #108 ... the veiw waa gorgeous ... I love and appreciated the kitchen. So beautiful and comfortable we didnt want to leave our room. The restaurnts on site are awesome!! Delish!
