Location
Booked James suite was grubby, lots of things damaged, stains on furniture, carpets and worst of all the mattress.Hotel is not cleaned and maintained properly Not advised about noise from nite club until they have taken payment day before and let you kinda know on check in.. The volume was unacceptable and no soundproofing on back window facing niteclub .Should be adult only as not suitable for children who found a condom on the goodie tray !!
Friendly atmosphere, great location to access city centre, comfortable bed, strong shower, appealing decor, quality of fixtures and fittings, great breakfast in the rooftop cafe.
Lack of storage/hanging space, but I understand it's part of the simplicity of the design and small/mid-size room.
Amazing Receptionists , great room size and very clean
Loud noisy from night club below
So clean and so comfortable
Nothing
The breakfast selection was poor and not value for money. The location was not central therefore tram or taxi
The room view was poor and we were put in the annexe and there where no wardrobes for hanging clothes
Room was very spacious and clean. Bed was really comfortable and location was great
We got back from our night out, looked out the window and we could see straight into coppers outdoor area, hadn’t realised what it was during the day. The music was absolutely blaring, I can’t believe they even have hotel rooms on offer with that level of noise disturbance. Luckily we were drunk so didn’t affect us too much but if this was meant to be a relaxing night away chilling in the room it would have been a different story. It was mid heat wave in Dublin and we went to use the pool to find it was heated. I know the dean has heated pools normally but it was actually disgusting to get into when it was so hot outside. Such a pity, I was enjoying a cooling dip during the heat.
Légèrement en dehors des zones touristiques secteur calme hôtel moderne nombreux équipements disponibles personnel adorable Piscine extérieure chauffée super agréable
De devoir repartir !
Great gym - sauna was good too but needs to have a cold shower or a cold plunge. Great location right by the Luas and central
Very small rooms for the price
The decor was quirky and to my liking. Sophie’s restaurant was excellent with great setting, very friendly staff & superb food.
The facilities in the room were not of the 4 star quality that I was expecting. There were also some issues with the cleanliness of the room. Inadequate drawers and hanging space meant we lived out of suitcases. The cups for tea & coffee were paper. There were no ironing facilities in the room. The rooms were not made up or replenished unless you asked. The bed was comfortable with quality bedding. Overall, the experience was not 4 star and definitely not value for money. With so much choice in Dublin, there was nothing about The Dean that would make me want to stay again.
Everything
Stayed many times. Sometimes on the pricey side but I got a really good deal on this trip.
Everything was great.
Great location, walking distance to center Nice restaurant Helpful friendly staff Powerful shower
Excellent location at walking distance to the city centre. Bedroom was superbly decorated and comfy bed. The staff was very attentive to our needs.
None
Very nice staff
not specifically
Location
We stayed in the large corner room. Lots of light. Excellent. Hotel close Dublin City center. Gym, sauna and Jacuzzi a plus . The Sky bar food and view are great. Went many times
Nous avons eu une moitié de chambre Aucun espace Pas de chaise Espace plus qu exiguë Dommage
Staff was super nice, always fast reacting to any question. They gacve us a room in the silent part so there is really no noise. They have a hot swimming pool outside so in cold weather it is rather great. The restaurant on the roof is a separate entity so any breakfast is an extra and it is pay by portion/by meal, but they do have good coffee and good breakfast including a traditional Irish breakfast.
The location
The price and the renovations outside the windows at 8.30 on Sunday morning.
Clean, comfortable and easy access to downtown
The second room with three beds is really too small
Location was convenient to everything (maybe a 7-10 minutes walk to Temple Bar). Hotel lobby was classy and inviting. My single room was small, but it was perfectly adequate for 1. Comfy bed, decent sized bathroom, strong shower with lots of hot water, a/c was nice and cold to come in to out of the heat wave that was occurring. Great rooftop bar. The gym has lots of equipment to use and the little pool was heated and felt great on sore muscles. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.
Just a heads up that the elevator in main bldg only stops on the half floor, so you either have to walk down or up 1/2 a flight with your suitcase to your room.
Amazing customer service and room quality
Surrounding area is quite loud at night but this isn’t the fault of the property just a con due to the busy area
Location is good
Cosy room is extremely small for two people and for the price it’s just not worth it. Lift wasn’t working during our stay so had to exit the hotel to use pool facilities.
Location
Tiny room builders everywhere no privacy curtain had to pull the curtains fully builders outside leaning in window lest bottle there
Easy to get to everything
Nice hotel! Sofie’s rooftop gave a nice view and served good food and drinks. Hotel staff was friendly and the location was a walkable distance to various locations and sights. Premises were clean and the decor was cool. Nice bar in the lobby as well.
The AC was not ideal for the heat during our stay. It was almost uncomfortable to be in the room at times.
Absolutely disappointed in this stay at the hotel we still have currently one more night to stay and if I could I’d leave now but already paid a fortune 780 euro for mediocre service. When we arrived we were told we were booked into the separate townhouse apartment but not to worry it’s quieter, no wonder absolutely no staff to help with any kind of service. Opened door to the tiniest room I’ve ever seen it actually shocked me was more like a cupboard, bed squashed in corner with tv at bottom of the bed which only had three channels due to no reception. No cupboard to hang up clothes the toilet shower was even smaller to get into the shower you had to squeeze into a corner of the shower to try and get the shower door closed, paper cups instead of mugs for coffee and the stuff for coffee stuffed into the cup zero room to move. Zero staff in the building all day except a security guard when we returned that night, a bar in the apartments but that was closed completely. The rooms weren’t very clean dust along the paneling along the toilet sliding door zero privacy in a small space with this sliding door. Not to mention the noise from the street of taxis beeping horns all night. Then you have to leave the building in your walk few yards down to go into the main hotel to get any amenities like the pool which to be honest was the only good thing I can say about the hotel lovely staff there and lovely heated pool.then went to the rooftop bar on the first day and it’s filthy metal panels hanging off wires lying everywhere, bird poo on the seats and just very run down. When we walked into the smoking area we didn’t want any food just a drink and when my partner asked a waiter for drinks now considering the roof top was practically empty he was told you need to ask a manager can you be seated there and my partner said for what we are residents in the hotel we aren’t looking food, we just want a drink in the smoking area which didn’t require a reservation and it’s not like your busy. The waiter replied well you can’t have a drink you need to ask the manager can you sit there at this point we got up and left, totally rude and obnoxious attitude I would look over it if was packed out and we wanted food it was a smoking area with zero people sitting at it. When I went down to reception to complain the attitude we had just received, reception staff seemed more interested than the man in the moon, and in fact one girl actually said well maybe management need to know who’s coming and going, to which I replied it was a smoking area not a restaurant and it’s empty it’s not a big deal we paid more than enough to stay here and can’t even get a drink at the bar. I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had so far how they justify charging those prices for a cupboard room is beyond me and no staff to even say anything to in our apartment. You have to go to the main building for anything which in itself is total inconvenience. Have to get fully dressed to go and walk out down the street to use the pool facilities and no breakfast options in the apartment. Plus they also requested security deposit when we arrived which wasn’t stated anywhere when we booked god knows how long that will take for a refund. We also had to request a change of towels and bed cleaning as this isn’t a standard option in the apartment like it would be in the hotel lol considering the townhouse apartments are dearer than the main hotel no idea why as it’s sub standard accommodation. Never would i recommend a stay here and raging I still have to do another night here. Don’t waste your money here, better places which are cheaper across the street.
Everything from start to finish!
Excellent location Quirky style Nice food
Nothing
Lovely staff and clean
Nothing
Disappointing. Rooms are very hot and air conditioning isn't adequate, and the front desk comes up, and housekeeping comes up, all to say that it's as cold as it's going to be, and our two rooms are really hot.
Staff location and facilities were fantastic
There was a lot of dust on the furniture, the room is exceptionally small and the mattress was softer than a bean bag
It was so lovely from start to finish. The upgrade offer was such a nice touch and it made the stay that bit nicer. Gym facilities are great for a hotel and I loved the sauna and pool. Thanks for a lovely last minute getaway.
There was nothing
Hotel staff lovely location good but depending what your doing.
Wasn't told mini bar was not included. I didn't reserve breakfast when booking so had to pay extra for that. Next door to nightclub
Location
We booked a balcony room but where told that it was unavailable
We booked The Dean back in January for this coming week. We got an email on Friday saying they had to cancel our booking due to renovations and offered us a room in the docklands. I rang and explained why this option wouldn’t work for us, they insisted they did not have any other rooms available yet there was a room available on their website at the time. The exact room I had booked is back in sale for an extra €100 so the renovations must have been magically completed over the last 48 hours even though it’s a weekend. Very disappointing experience and will not be staying at a Dean hotel again.
Pool was lovely, comfy bed and bar was lovely
We were put in the townhouse when booking we were told we can get room service but we then couldn’t, staff in Sophie’s roof top were mainly nice the manager/ person in charge was very rude to the staff and rushed us out
The pool, the location, air conditioning.
Great location - lovely staff
It was very central to everything!
The noise at the night time.
A location that I have trusted before on several occasions to be on point and dependable
You ruined our day in Dublin. You first moved us by communication to another Dean location 2 weeks ahead of time. When we showed up there they eventually told us our original Dean location was still correct (no communication) cost us an hour all in. Then when we went to the original location they didn’t have our room ready (at 3:15pm) told us it would be “a few minutes”. After 20mins when I was standing 20 feet away the same girl who started out check in motioned me and told me to sit down. This was an appalling gesture and I should had walked out and cancelled right there. 15 minutes later, she told us it would be 15 more minutes and that they were cleaning the room. 2 of us left to park the car and when we were back (20 minutes later) it took another 30 mins to get the room. Some guy that we found out was the manager that was sitttng at a table on a laptop the whole time and said nothing to us finally came up at the end and gave us free breakfast passes (how magnanimous). We missed two events we had scheduled because of there “just a few minutes” choice of communication style. It squashed our day when all they had to say was to leave our bags and go, because it was going to take the 2 hour extra that it did. I’ve been to the Dean multiple times before over the last 5 years. I will never come again and ensure anyone I know does the same..shameful service both before and during.
Great location, comfortable beds, Sophie’s Rooftop has been renovated and was lovely! Rooms had been painted since we were last there and looked lovely.
Couldn’t sleep!! We’ve stayed in The Dean a couple of times before and loved it, but we’ve realised we have been lucky to be on the quieter side of the hotel both times previously. This time, we faced on to a night club and its smoking area and it was ridiculously loud music and people talking until 4am. Tried the cheap earplugs they leave you and didn’t work, so it was a night of zero sleep. Very disappointing when you’re paying £250 for a relaxing night away. This alone would make me never stay here again unfortunately as it’s a lot of hard earned money to waste lying listening to thumping music all night. Understand it’s a city and we live in a city too but it was ridiculously loud - literally below the window. We also had to be moved to a different room upon check in as the sink in our first bathroom was really dirty and stained. We noticed the bathroom even in the second room was worn and radiator covered in dust etc. Again, not the level the place was cleaned to previously. Won’t be staying again, sorry to say.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful, especially the night porter, who went above and beyond to assist us.
The room was located at the front of the building, so there was some noise from traffic and pedestrians, particularly during busy times.
I’m only leaving a review for the lovely lovely receptionist. Her name was Iulia and she made us feel so welcome, she was such a sweetheart. Such a good face to the hotel.
Breakfast could’ve been a lot better but I think that’s because Sophie’s was closed?
Great location and staff. Bed was very comfortable
Nothing but renovations ongoing
For a room rate of €250 for one night the breakfast was appalling! Granola, fruit, yogurt and stale toast and pastries. Very limited and no cooked option. Won't be back!
Staff were fantastic from check in to check out
Renovations. But not hotels fault
Central for our needs
We had our wedding reception in the Dean Dublin in May 2026. From the beginning the events team in particular Kaela was great and very responsive to any queries we had which made working with her to confirm details of the day easy. Although there was a change to our plans on the day due to refurbishment in the Hotel, Kaela & David (hotel manager) were excellent, offering a choice of contingency plans & working hard to ensure our day went ahead smoothly. We had our reception in the Townhouse/ Marshall Room which are both lovely spaces, especially if looking for something trendy & less traditional. Kaela ensured the set up of the room was appropriate for our numbers and was very flexible with changes. Food was excellent and a stand out with both ourselves and our guests, as food at weddings can be sub par due to the number of guests being catered for. We particularly liked that there was the option of steak for main course and that we could choose two dessert options. The staff on the night were amazing, ensuring everything ran smoothly and no request was too much. There were no delays or periods of waiting around, and the evening flowed perfectly from one part of the celebration to the next. Overall we had a great day & would highly recommend couples looking for a city-centre location with excellent food & service.
Location
Room very small . Lighting very poor in room. Breakfast very poor .
Disappointing. Rude receptionist. Also stated they dnt give receipts for luggage left despite checking in with my partner later and not knowing details of his company and how they do it she wouldn't let me leave luggage so told my partner to cancel as instead we will go to the many other wonderful hotel s with better facilities like Castlekock hotel
I loved the vibe if the hotel, the staff were really helpful. Unfortunately, we were only there for 1 night and didn't arrive until about 8.30pm and left early the next morning. I would recommend it and if I come back to Dublin ill stay at The Dean again.
The vibe, the rooms, the staff, location.
Really disappointing stay this time around. Shower gel bottle was empty, really weak power in the shower (presuming low pressure is due to building works), TV remote wouldn't work (batteries were held in place by tape!), and no hot water for a shower on the morning of check-out. I find it interesting that upon checking out, all I was asked was if I had taken anything from the mini-bar - no questions around how I enjoyed my stay or how I found the facilities. Not a great experience.
Great central location
Having to go outside to get to the gym and pool
Noisy, dark
Great location, Very clean
Tiny room for the price. Rooftop bar and restaurant closed for renovations and wasn’t notified.
