Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Service was first-class. From front of house to housekeeping and everyone in between, all the staff were very attentive, courteous and efficient with a smile. The only things I can fault are the rooms being obviously dated, the open air side across the rooms which caused the rains to blow into the open doors, and the squeaky left elevator that scared me to no end. Taking everything into consideration, I would book this hotel again when chance permits.
Great customer service
Limited menu. I have a garlic/onion allergy, and could not eat anything on the m menu. Even the burger patties came pre-loaded with garlic.
Location
We absolutely loved staying here, the view overlooking Taal was breathtaking, both at bedtime and upon waking. It would have been perfect if there were stools and a small table on the balcony to fully enjoy the scenery, but that’s a minor detail. The staff were exceptional… always welcoming us with a smile, thoughtful, respectful, and willing to go the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. I highly recommend this place! Rooms on the 7th floor and above offer a clear, unobstructed view of Taal. We’ll definitely be back. The bathroom was clean and spacious, and we appreciated the mini fridge, microwave, and kettle. We even borrowed cutlery and small plates so we could celebrate my mum’s birthday with cake, such a nice touch! Oh and let me mention the Breakfast here- it’s worth the price. Delightful everyday with so much selection. It caters to both Filipinos & western taste. So close to great restaurants like BalayDako, RSM & the famous Starbucks overlooking Taal. The hotel itself has a passage to go to a smaller Starbucks & shopping mall beside it. So convenient. Loads of parking space. Highly recommend this place to family & friends
Area around it.
We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast buffet. Thanks!
Location
Had a wonderful stay at Summit Ridge! The staff were amazing—so friendly and welcoming! Check-in was smooth, and the front office team greeted us with genuine smiles. They provided helpful information about the hotel’s facilities and amenities. Since it was Holy Week, they also gave us recommendations on churches to visit around Tagaytay, which we really appreciated. The room was beautiful, and the view of Taal was the best I’ve ever seen—absolutely breathtaking! Check-out was quick and seamless. We will definitely be coming back!
Great views from the rooms. Which is what this hotel is all about. Room was renovated and great, but could do with new towels, etc. Similalry the lift carpet needs reneweing.
Nice
Staff was amazing, but the room was not totally finished at all . we dont know if there is some renovation going on. upon checking the ceiling i think the housekeeping forgot to check it there are some scotch tape from the previous guest that you forgot to look into it, but the frontdesk was awesome.
The hotel was very old need for renovation
Great!
As soon as we entered the room it smelled like mold/musty The towels were gray and wet and dust coming out of the bathroom fan exhaust The management needs to finish renovating before allowing customers in their property
nice
Breakfast buffet was not so great. Food ran out and took a while to refill. Room is old, dark and not welcoming. Hard to open the door. All doors in the room are old and dirty. Bathroom towels were very thin and looked brownish gray as opposed to white towels. We were given 1/2 roll of toilet paper per day which usually ran out by the end of the day. The lobby was clean and nice but getting off the elevator to our floor looked like it was from another decade, very old and floors were worn down. The room needs updating for sure.
The location is good very near restaurants and tourist spots. The hotel itself is old and not well maintained. Service is good.
Towels were old was not a good clean room. The inside of the lobby was nice but that’s were it ended. Was locked out of my room 4 times the shower was warm water not hot. The staff was nice and kind. Over all it was not good.
After booking this hotel on Expedia for just One night we got a message saying that it was under renovation. I messaged them afterwards because I have two small children that want a pool, so it's very important that the pool is open. I wanted to make sure that the pool was available so after attempting to contact them for 3 days there was no response. Not happy with the communication. Upon arrival, very happy with the look. Clean and modern. Our room was on the top floor with a fantastic view, we loved it. Nighttime showed the flaws: Extremely loud. Even on the top floor it sounded like people were right outside our window. One of our rooms smelled of sewage at night along with the bathroom. Very spacious bathroom but almost no hot water. We had lunch at the restaurant and it was okay, but overpriced. The breakfast was good and a much better deal. The pool was nice and cold and it had a shallow area perfect for kids. Overall, we may stay there again. I don't think we'd be able to put up with the smell in the room again and would probably ask to move. The view from the top floor was fantastic, and the room itself was really nice. It would be worth giving another shot if the price was right.
Nice place
Be careful coz they will housekeeping is a rip off. They charge a fortune for a simple stain on a hand towel. The only 4 star (upscale) hotel that ever charge this way.
Tv did not work room was small for the price... no amenities
nice place to stay
Great place to stay in Tagaytay. Close to everywhere. Staff are very friendly.
The property is in poor shape. The lobby looks nice but it stops there. I was on the 7th floor but can hear everything on the street. The wind and rain was coming in from the patio doors. The towel racks are rusted and the bathroom has a funky smell. The towels are so old they are gray instead of white. The air conditioning units on the lobby to the rooms are all rusting.
Great view of the Taal. Good food and shopping very close. Casino and amusement park 15 minutes walk. The hotel was very nice and the staff was great. Tagatay is a very noisy city, so be prepared for that. We would stay there again. Robinson supermarket and a small mall with good food right next door.
Poor customer service! The beddings are dirty, towels are very old, no enough tissues provided, there’s a kitchen but no utensils, the premises is not finish.
The bathroom had a clogged drain so everytime we showered it would flood the whole bathroom. Had hotel staff take a look and adter they said they fixed it, it still was in same condition. Also called for room service when we ran out of toilet paper and they never came until several hours later after we personally re-requested at the front desk. This is a supposedly "4 star" hotel that is actually 3 stars or less in actuality.
I was so thankful that i decided to stay in this place. We had an excellent stay . The view was amazing . Staff are friendly and helpful. Accessible to a lot of things to see and do in Tagaytay. Highly recommended!
The entrance and lobby is immaculate. The elevators have a glass window to see the lake view on the way up, but the window was not clean. The staff are top notch. They were all very courteous and helpful. The concierge arranged for a personal tour guide for us, the restaurant staff was attentive to our needs and the massage therapist was excellent. There was a mention that the hotel was going through renovation so I assume the cleanliness issues will be addressed. I will give the hotel a 3.9 out of 5 stars based on my standards with a note saying I will be back for a visit soon to see how the renovations are coming along.
Everything was fine except the younger staff in the restaurant were playing to much instead of waiting on people...the shower foor in our room was falling off...i think room service should of noticed thst and had it fixed before letting out the room again. Pool was to cold to swim..thats why nobody uses it.
Good
The hotel lobby was spacious. The staff was a bit slow but friendly. The rooms were large and clean. The pool was satisfactory, except that there was no shower, restroom, or even an attendant near the pool. You had to bring your room towel to the pool area. There was a small Robinson store that you could access by walking through the basement from the hotel.
The room we booked has a cockroach. Our keycards got deactivated twice. And tv internet does not work. We got the summit suite and it’s not even worth the price. The worst hotel i’ve been too.
Excellent
Check in was easy and no issues. Its about 2-3 hrs south of NIAA depending on traffic. Breakfast buffet was always good, rooms clean and always hot water in the shower. i would stay again pros wifi, location con traffic noise is non stop but not a deal breaker
The property is a bit dated. Our room was pretty dated and no safe Cabinets missing doors tile broke outside of entry door and very noisy. Lots of street noise.
It was an amazing stay.
Terrible condition for a 4-star hotel. Supervisor/manager did not even look up from the front desk when I was telling them about the bad condition of the deluxe king room that I booked. His answer to the staff is to give an extension cord for the refrigerator which did not have an outlet. Walls had peeling paint, bathroom had moldy grout, towels had worn edges, bare toiletries, no desk chair. Overall poor customer service and not caring probably because of attitude of supervisor/higher ups. Not reflective of Philippine hospitality.
Is good
Staff were nice and friendly but rooms are dated and run down.
Good stay…but a bit out of date hotel.
The service was great the place is really nice and the view was stunning. But the wind is so loud and the patio doors not sealed well to keep the wind out. So all the noise escaped into the romm kept me awake most of the night. And for as pricey as it is there it should have been sound proof. I ended up sleeping in the suite on a small bed.
I like how cool at night even without using the air conditioner but the downside you can hear the noise from the outside even in the 7th floor.
All rooms have the view of Tall Volcano and across the street Rosario Restaurant is a convenient, a little pricey but it has the same view as this hotel. The hotel is next to a busy street, so it’s a little bit noisy. It was so windy when I was there and there balcony door are making some noise especially at night. I have to struggle opening my door until maintenance guy changed the door battery.
There were no towels in the bathroom. The bathroom was dirty, the shampoo contsiner was just tackily placed. It felt very unclesn.
Room needs some update but overall still a satisfactory hotel with close-by malls and restaurants with good parking space.
There was a dirty rug left in the room. Not so clean unit. Has a nice view of taal from the 8th floor.
Perfect view of Taal lake and Sky Ranch is within walking distance. Lobby looks good but 2nd floor up is not well maintained. The gym looks abandoned. :(
Friendly and courteous staff.
Staff was great, nice lobby, but they gave us a room with molds in the bathroom and ceiling. I felt nauseous, I’m not sure if it’s from the molds. I heard they had storms recently but they should have use bleach to clean the molds. Nice view of the volcano. Lots of restaurants around including Starbucks. I’m not sure if breakfast was included, we didn’t eat breakfast there. Please clean your molds with bleach.
clean and safe
Very accessible to anything you need 😊
The hotel room needs updating. Property has nice lobby. Food is over priced. Hotel grounds are well kept. Close to restaurants and public transportation. Nice view of the lake.
The rooms are not well-maintained. I got a two bedroom suite for roughly 150$ a night (with taxes) which I thought was a good deal. As they say, you get what you’ve paid for, and I certainly did. Let’s start with the positives, the rooms (especially the higher floors) have a nice view of Taal lake. There are lots of restaurants nearby that are walking distance. There’s a strip mall right next to the hotel and owned by the same company that has restaurants, groceries, and merchandise kiosks. Skyranch is a walking distance. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was cost efficient. The lobby looks like it can be a luxury hotel. But there’s where it ended for me. The room I got was ok, not great. The room was outdated. Dressers and cabinets definitely had their share of wear and tear. The stove definitely needs an update. The fridge served it’s purpose. Bathroom is ok. Something about their balcony that water puddles in certain spots after it rains. The upholstery on the loveseat was stained. I just wish they would update/renovate their rooms.
What is dirty noisy and rundown
very poor service.they forget to give the bathroom mat everyday.you need to request and wait the whole day.they did not replenish our complimentary water and coffee, aircon in two rooms we rented are broken.phones not working, the rate did not include breakfast, our heater also is defective
we are satusfeif wuth our first stay in your Hotel
The location, view and price are the pros of this place. Within a 2 min walk is a grocery store, starbucks, Korean food buffet, BDO ATM, and a well known restobar. Traffic on the street is not bad in the immediate area so exiting the premises is not an issue. My only concern was the cleanliness of the place. It's not that it was dirty, but more old and needed attention. For instance, my room was clean, but the bathroom glass was just spotty with old water stains, the grout needed fixing, and mold in the corners. The rain type shower head was full of calcium buildup. All in all a great place with a top notch view. Will be staying here again next year.
The location, staff and facilities were all excellent. Really enjoyed staying here
Staffs service was great and professional, friendly,we enjoyed the atmosphere.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I arrived around 9 am and was not feeling well, from the flight. Check-in is 2 pm but they got housekeeping to clean my room early and I was in by 10. I will defiatly stay again
Hotel itself is good. Location is a little far from Ayala mall and fora. Bed is stiff and could definitely need an upgrade. Great view facing lake
The view and the staff were excellent. It’s just I’m wondering why there’s no enough towels to use in the bathroom they only provide 2 bath towels
Staying in Summit Ridge in Tagaytay City, Philippines is worth your money. It ha Beautiful View of Taal Lake and close to famous local restaurants. Rooms are big, clean and cozy. We’ll definitely recommend it to our friends.
Good view, near grocery, safe parking area.
First time to stay in this hotel. Services are prompt, fast and satisfactory. Location is excellent. Very near market, well known outlets and parking spaces and driver’s quarter areavailable.
The location is perfectly design for those who wants to see the view of Taal lakes...the ambiance so great and awesome.....
Room is nice and comfortable. * one of my issue is the breakfast, maybe add more option/other food for customers to choose.
Staffing are not that polite. The place itself is nice.
The zumba session is quite annoying especially in the early morning schedule, because of loud speaker perhaps.
Vey nice newer Hotel. The staff was very accommodating. I would skip the restaurant. Poor service and attitudes. At breakfast, I asked for butter three times for the buffet. I even took the empty bowl and gave it to the host. Still waiting on the butter to arrive.
Toilet n balcony floor water level poorly build ..breakfast sucks with limited chioce of selection..disappointing.pool was not clean by 7am when cistomer prefer a early dip. Overall place getting old..tv eeception bad with down satellite for whole day
Ver good experience. Everything is perfect except laundry and local phone service where you have to go down to reception area just to make local calls.
The staff is extremely helpful and professional. It’s like staying at the Hilton in Manila. They go out of there way which exceeds all expectations. 10 Star staff led by Chris. Breakfast is extraordinary and the group is motivated to serve a high quality breakfast but Dinner is the opposite. Fist meal a portion of my chicken well cooked but the other was uncooked and not edible. Second dine in experience was worse as I got sick but still charged.
The room is big, clean and with comfy bed sheets! For an affordable price!
In emergency cannot be change date
Location and view. The room and areas are very clean also.
Nice view from the window...clean and location is also good...good place to stay and enjoy the swimming and the food is good..buffet..lots of choices😊
Next to restaurants & grocery. Nice view of Taal volcano from the veranda of the room.
Nice property with great views. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Could use a bit of an update to the rooms...a bit bland. Shower was ok...again, an update would help. Restaurant dinner was very good, breakfast buffet was excellent. Would stay here again.
The view was amazing. Location was near good food locations and places to see.
The weather was windy at the time. We were located on a 7th floor room. We can hear the wind whistling through the gaps between the balcony windows and doors. It is slightly annoying but tolerable. Other than that, our stay was very comfortable and restful.
Room needs a little upgrade especially their bathroom which is clogged when we checked in. We requested for a late check out but they declined because the hotel is fully booked so we opted to check out at 12 noon and requested for a trolley for our luggage unfortunately the bellman went to us past 1pm due to the influx of guest. Staff were seemingly unprepared. Nevertheless, They have a good location and stunning view of the taal. The food in their newly renovated restaurant serves good food.
location is great like it’s near to tagaytay tourist destination. Nice that they have several parking slots for guests. Room is fair enough.
Location is great, problem is with regards to the room sound proofing. Very noisy at odd hours on vehicles passing the main road.. Seems the sound proofing not well made noises could still enter the room. did not sleep soundly and particularly well that night.
I booked two rooms for a two nights stay with our friends. The room where me and my husband stay was nice not until i checked the bedsheets, seems that it was not changed for a while, it has stains and is disgusting. I took a picture of it for proof. So when they came in to replace it, there were more stain on the lining and itvwas not only me who saw it, it was the housekeeping who saw it too...pls update the pool area too. Thanks
Loved the view. Stayed after Holy Week and it was a good decision because I can imagine the area being busy if it was during a holiday. Good service. Parking available even though my confirmation email and during booking stated that there was none.
It was a breeze checking in at Summit Ridge Tagaytay. Staff was nice and accommodating. Helped us with our bags. They were also honest to tell us that cable wasnt working that day and that the cable provider is handling the issue already. The reviews regarding the sound from the cars from the highway is true. We were checked in at the 8th floor and we can still hear the cars passing by late at night which made sleeping a bit hard to do. Do not expect that much on the wifi though. It works fine but it is a bit slow. The only problem I have was the key card. Upon check in, guests should be informed that the cards shouldnt be near or beside any electronic devices as it will deactivate the card. We had to go down the reception two to three times to have our card activated again as we cannot open our room.
One toilet paper a day. Poor facility and fitness equipment maintenance. But Staff are great and friendly.
It’s very noisy at night
Very friendly and kind staff. Room are clean. Need to check the lights to make sure they work for the next guests. Need new remote control for TV & air conditioner.
Stayed 3 nights. Enjoyed the hotel. Loved the balcony. Next to, or across the street from great restaurants and shopping. A nice walk to skyranch. Our only problem was on the last night. Hearing a bunch of banging at about 8 pm that had been going on a long time. Contacted the front desk to see off they knew of it. They contacted us a few minutes later and said it was construction and they noise will stop for the night. The staff was always friendly and approachable. We will stay there again.
Great location, amazing view! Nice to find that all the rooms face the volcano
The biggest attraction of this hotel is that all rooms offer a nice view of Taal Lake. It is also near restaurants and coffee shops, and is less than a kilometer's walk from Sky Ranch. The staff are polite and helpful. The downside is that the hotel restaurant has limited choices for breakfast, and seems closed at dinner time (which can be a problem when the weather doesn't permit you to dine out). The bathroom also doesn't have a bidet or a bath tub. I also wish the hotel has a view deck where guests can enjoy themselves and just take in the sight (right now the only way one can really enjoy the view -- outside the room -- is if you're using the function room).
This is probably the worse hotel I have stayed in the Philippines at a daily rate +Php 11K. Nearly all facilities were none existent, closed or not working.
The bad (getting it out of the way): - one restaurant that only serves breakfast - breakfast buffet is very limited and is always the same - house keeping was not very good. They never changed out the sheets. All they did was make up the bed and replace the towels - shower door wouldn't stay closed so some of the water splashed into the main area of the bathroom - the room was not well insulated at all so you could hear every bit of noise from the street, even from the 8th floor - there was no DVD player in the room. That's disappointing for a 4 star hotel that charges $80 per night The good: - the view of Taal Lake and volcano from the balcony was breath taking - the room was spacious and very comfortable - the location was fantastic. Right next door was the promenade which housed a variety of shops, restaurants, money exchange and a grocery market - walking distance of several very good restaurants - walking distance to Sky Ranch amusement park - short car ride (jeepney ride) to People's Park, Puzzle Mansion, the Casino, Ayala Malls, Residence Inn Zoo and Twin Lakes Resort - very friendly staff Final thoughts: Tagaytay City is a small resort town. There simply aren't as many hotels to choose from like there would be in Manila. That being said, the Summit Ridge resort was one of the better hotels in Tagaytay, although not worth the nightly rate nor deserving of a 4 star rating. Most of its value is in its spectacular location.
It was very good. The room is very pleasant and the staff are very polite. We will definitely comeback in this hotel in our next vacation.
Breakfast is not value for money. Food is so bland and less choicew
