Stork Nest Inn

The breakfast is very good and it is lovely to have our eggs cooked just as we like them. We appreciate this part of staying here. The location is easy walking to the downtown area and access to restaurants. It is easy to find when you enter town too.

I think some upgrades have been underway here and our room was very comfortable and clean. Our bedroom door stuck and so every time we opened it it made a very loud noise. The carpeting could do with some changes, as it seems very tired.

Toilet 'ran on' every time we flushed and we had to jiggle a part inside the cistern. Tap dripped unless it was in a certain position. Funky smelling carpet in hallway.

The breakfast was a wonderful surprise. Not packaged muffins or rubber eggs. It was the real thing and made to order! Excellent all around. I would definitely stay here again.

Nettes kleines Motel, die Zimmer werden aktuell gerade renoviert. Wir hatten noch ein unrenoviertes Zimmer, welches ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen ist. Die Betten waren sehr bequem! Ein sehr gutes Frühstück ist im Preis dabei, auch wenn dies bei booking.com nicht angegeben wird. Sehr nette Betreiber, die sich sehr gut um die Bedürfnisse der Gäste kümmern. Grundsätzlich ist in Smithers nicht viel los, d.h. ab 21:00 Uhr werden die Bordsteige hochgeklappt! Einige Lokale sind fußläufig zu erreichen.

Great stay, easy walking access to the Via train, local restaurants, downtown, grocery stores. Breakfast was fantastic with eggs made to order! Property was very clean and staff accommodating. Tea and Coffee available 24/7 which is always great when travelling. Bed was a bit on the hard side for me, and although the room was cozy with clean pine board walls, and bathroom had been updated well with woodlike laminate flooring, the room still had carpet which can takes away a bit from the “complete cleanliness” feel. Overall, I’d definitely go back!

I was assigned an upstairs room; I had a 50lb piece of luggage. I am 75 years old and they have no elevator, just stairs. I was able to carry it, but was given no option for assistance. I was told I could leave it in a downstairs room, which meant I would have to transfer what I needed for the night and leave 2 thousand dollars worth of fishing gear in a room away from me. Not cool for a hotel costing $200 a night. Fix that issue and I would have zero complaints

We had a lovely room and the breakfast was exceptional! We had eggs cooked to order, and fresh pancakes. They put a loving touch on each step of the way, check-in, clean rooms, and great morning meal.

Cute clean building Breakfast consists of fried eggs, ham, sausage, hash browns and pancakes, dry cereal, yogurt, bread, coffee, tea, juice & water. Some staff friendly some not so much. No coffee pot or drinking water in room.

Amazing staff! I didn’t try the included breakfast but it sure smelt amazing and the dining area was filled. Next time for sure. Bed was pretty hard. I used an extra blanket for comfort. No coffee in the room, but it’s not a game changer since the amazing staff have it ready for you! I brought a bit of a bigger cup.

Mary was very helpful and friendly at the front desk. The room was very clean with a large bathroom.

Stork Nest Inn is well located, clean, well taken care of. A good breakfast was included. We found the bed too hard and it simply didn't feel like it was good value for the rate we paid.

Generally awesome. Prime location. Good water pressure. Spotless clean. Lights on when someone approaches the parking - feeling safe. Breakfast was included, average but still better than many room-only hotels.

Noisy neighbour may be a problem. Expensive. Toilet is smelly after flush, every time.

The Stork is just a place for an overnight stay in the travel to a vacation destination. Nothing Spercial. The cancelled having a shuttle to and from the airport so I will not be staying here again as there is only 1 taxi in town.

What a wonderful place for us to have stayed! We experienced car problems and the staff went out of their way to help us... They came and picked us up at 10:00 at night and took us back to the hotel so we did not have to stay with our stranded car. The next morning they let us stay in an extra room until our car could be serviced. The ladies who run the hotel were exceptionally nice and helpful. The breakfast was individually prepared and delicious. This hotel went out of its way to make us feel welcome and secure. A+++++

Unethical. The reservation defaulted to 2 guests as it does for literally every other hotel in the country. Because I did not change it to one guest they charged me an extra guest fee even though I was the only person who showed up. In other words, they stole from me, and basically said yes we are keeping the extra guest fee anyway. Simply unbelievable. If a bank mistakenly gives you $1000 instead of $100, you don’t just get to keep the extra money paid in error. That’s a crime and you go to jail if you do that. The rooms felt like a college dormitory. Not worth the price. They clearly hate Expedia and customers who use it. Ok. Fine. Then don’t accept reservations on Expedia. Blaming the customer and stealing from them is not acceptable.

Was in a great location, could walk to downtown. And many food options around. The staff are wonderful, and want to make your stay as good as can be. There is a continental breakfast that’s included ifs great, lots of hot/cold food always has coffee on and its self serve, its in the breakfast area, which is where we ate out ordered in pizza, and Cesar salad.

We love the staff! Everyone was super friendly! The location was great, with a short walk to the downtown area, where shops and restaurants abound. The room was clean and comfortable, but very plain and small. With a bed and two small night stands, a small table, nice refrigerator, and one chair in front of the door (getting luggage into the room was difficult).

Very pleasant, well cared for and comfortable old school motel very convenient to town and highway yet quiet. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable however it is an older property with dated furnishings. The breakfast was great, fresh made to order eggs, pancakes, sausages, fruit and yogurt. The people who work here are all lovely, friendly and kind. This was a sweet respite from the road in a lovely town.

I have stayed here before and wanted to re-book. The hotel is very comfortable and clean. They provide a lovely breakfast and the location is perfect. We parked the car and walked everywhere we wanted to go in town.

I can't really think of anything I didn't like. Overall, it fit my needs perfectly and I like staying there. It's lovely.

Location cannot be beat! Breakfast was fantastic! Bed was comfortable! Owner/staff easy to communicate with.i was able to open the window for fresh air and that’s nice. Shower was good.

Petty but I love coffee in my room as I prep for the day. There was no clock in the room. Price was a bit high. The soap/shampoo dispenser in tub area was either empty or I wasn’t pushing it hard enough?

What a great find. This well run inn is located in downtown Smithers, close to shops, restaurants and city attractions. There is adequate parking. Rooms are pleasant and clean with comfortable beds. I was impressed by the reception staff and the breakfast room lady. The complimentary breakfast was well cooked. I stayed here twice on the going and the return trips. I would definitely stay here again.
