SureStay by Best Western Smithers

Everything was quite good but the floor in the bathroom is old and the toilet area too cramped.

It's obviously an older building that could use some upgrading. The breakfast area may be too small - two mornings we found it difficult to find a seating place.

Friendly staff, clean room

Very tired, gym useless, 1 washing machine

Zimmer mit Küchenzeile ausgestattet, gutes Frühstück

Das Haus ist schon sehr abgewohnt und muss dringend renoviert werden. Die Eigentümer haben dies erkannt und sind dabei, das Haus zu modernisieren.

The property was good

No dislikes

Location, big room with fridge, lots of steaming on tv. Breakfast and super friendly, accommodating staff

Breakfast was good

Room smelt weird like from a strange cleaner

Quiet night, breakfast was good, staff was pleasant

having to climb stairs when i have a cane also they have Roku tv not cable

The location

The room had a musty smell, bathtub wasn’t clean

The sheets and one towel had yellow stain marks on them.

Enjoyed the rooms and the breakfast. Staff was amazing thank you

Preis/ Leistung ist sehr gut. Ist wohl hauptsächlich für Monteure. Trotzdem sehr sauber und funktionell.

Etwas lieblos, aber für den Preis vollkommen ok.

- pulita - camera spaziosa - colazione inclusa

Clean, nice, good breakfast.

Pet friend. I do not like dogs.

location was great had a beautiful completely renovated room

Our room was freshly renovated and the beds were clean and comfy. The A/C was excellent, and staff was lovely.

The exterior of the hotel made me worry we had made a mistake. The continental breakfast had nothing available for people needing gluten-free and the food was also very unappetizing. The bathroom in our room could use a renovation and thorough cleaning - the tub surround was stained and streaky.

Riesige Suite mit zwei getrennten Schlafzimmer. Ruhig und sehr angenehm. Frühstück etwas spartanisch aber gut. Ein paar Schritte zum Alpenhorn. Gesamhaft, sehr gut und empfehlenswert

Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very pleasant. Room was nice an the bed was very comfortable

Th signage was off looking for the Best Western and the name was Surestay. The outside of the hotel appeared a little tired.

Un alojamiento muy cómodo, limpio y bien ubicado. Tenía todo lo que necesitábamos. La relación calidad precio es muy buena y el recepcionista fue muy amable en todo momento 🤗👍🏽

Centrally located

Dirty room, especially the carpet.

This hotel is definitely subpar. The people try. I don’t know that I can say the same for the owners. The hotel definitely needs renovations. Everything is old. The rooms don’t have mirrors except for one small one in the bathroom. They advertise laundry and fitness centre facilities, but neither are operational. I noticed that they got the fitness centre fixed up a bit before we left, but I popped my head in the door and all I could smell was rubber. It was a gross smell that I will never work out in. Also to accommodate the dryer that was not working, they allowed us to use the commercial laundry dryer. So again, I know the people try to accommodate, but these things are not really fixing the source of the problems. We were staying on the second floor with my 84-year-old mother. She’s capable of walking, but I never thought I needed an accessible room. Given that the hotel has two stories and no elevator it definitely was a pain both for her to climb the stairs and also for us to bring in all the luggage. Further when we arrived, because I booked through CAA travel they tried to tell me that I didn’t pay, and I had to provide all the printed documentation that I thankfully brought with me in order to prove that. The room that I originally booked had three beds, but the toilet seat was broken. That gave me the creeps because surely if that toilet seat was cleaned, someone would’ve noticed and reported it. Also, that room boasted having a kitchenette. Well above that kitchenette, there was no light. I don’t know how they expect anybody to actually use it properly. When I pointed out that I was not going to risk my mother’s safety on that toilet seat, they provided us 2 queen rooms. Given the facilities - this was acceptable, but still too bad that our party had to be split while staying here. Hotels in Smithers are expensive to start with because there isn’t a lot of choice. I would suggest you look at other options if you can afford them.

Room was clean friendly staff and we got to check in early

It was all good.

My room was comfortable and clean

Staff was helpful and courteous. We checked in past midnight without issues.

it is saying it is 4 stars on booking .com but it is barely 2 stars

I didn't have breakfast at the hotel. However, the Indian restaurant next door was very convenient for my dinner.

None. Everything went well with good services.

Perfectly fine place...but a little pricey for what you get. Great breakfast. It is much as someone would expect.

It was easy to find

The bathroom was atrocious. Yelllow stains on the towels. Brown stains on the toilet lid and a dirty pair of underwear hanging on the bathroom door. They have bottles of Salon Selective products but they were definitely not. They also used body wash for shampoo.

Good location

Smelled old

Great helpful staff, breakfast exceeded my expectations, location was wonderful, gym could improve

Gym

Location and staff

Rooms were clean but the carpet was old, light switches were damaged.

The service was excellent. An employee even gave me his personal charger to charge my phone.

Okay, from the outside the hotel doesn't look great. I was a bit scared when I arrived. But.then I got into the lobby where the staff was excellent. It was clean and tidy in the lobby as was.my room. Also, it was quiet. And the Roku TV system was was more user friendly than I am used to. And the staff was accepting of my dog which was great.

Clean, good location, friendly and helpful staff. Very good price.

The hallways weren't super clean or nice, breakfast wasn't great, gym was very disappointing.

The room was spotlessly clean.

The breakfast was not good. There was very little variety. Hot offerings included sausages, boiled eggs, and potatoes. I am vegetarian so I had the potatoes which were not hot at all. It would have been nice to have more than one type of fruit (red apples) to choose from.

Coffeemaker in the breakfast room was not working; washing machine was acting up and dryer did not dry - although the very helpful staff had solutions for the washer and dryer problems

Everything

Everything

Comfortable beds, spacious room. Some upgrades complete. Breakfast included and staff very friendly and very helpful.

Exterior needs to be redone and carpet in room. They are working on things, but still lots left inside and out to fix up/renew. We were a bit worried looking at exterior, but room was good.

Breakfast

Needs up dating

The property was unappealing, I had never stayed there before, and was nervous when I pulled up and saw it, the interior was extremely unappealing. All that aside, the room they put us in was nice, clean and comfortable. Unlike the rest of the property.

Beds were comfortable room was quiet

The location right off the Hwy was great and close to Downtown.

The room had two beds but I didn't realize that the second bed was super narrow, I called it my coffin 😁

They did have a room for pet availability

Upon arrival the entrance had a weird smell. The key card machine didn't work for at least the 1st hr we were there. They are doing renovations, which seem hurried or done cheaply. The windows had lots of overspray (can see where the tape was). The peep hole on the door was meant for someone over 6 ft, along with the towel hooks on the back of the bathroom room. The shower head on the other hand is meant for short people. The bathroom mirror was strange and you could see where the previous light and mirror were hung. The room did have newer carpet and clean linens. Could tell where most people have slept on the bed. For the value it was ok. Some of the hallway floor sounded hollow.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and very convenient to Highway 16. There were also good eateries in close proximity.

Great value

Sauber.

Direkt an Hauptstraße. Laute Eismaschine. Beste Zeiten schon länger hinter sich.

Conveniently located, breakfast was good

The receptionist charged me for the room even though it had been prepaid. I was able to straighten it out but it did seem strange he that it was not clear that I had paid

Nothing

I had booked a Best Western on the fact it is a reliable and clean updated venue. When we were pulling up to the BW here I was completely shocked as we had stay here before when it was the Capri and it was very poor and dirty, now is the BW. First impression not much change, went in to check the room, which had been slightly renovated, The bed was new and clean. The rest of the hotel, hallways , their laundry room was very dirty. Breakfast poor. I would have thought to advertise or get a BW franchise they would have to pass some kind of inspection.

The location is good.

I believe they overcharged me.. The amount that stated on booking online is not same amount that they charge me

Comfortable beds .Good blinds/ dark room . Great parking .Quiet location on edge of town but easily walkable to all restaurants etc. Included breakfast (05.50 until 0900) worked v well for early fishing trips. Staff all very helpful . Rooms and bathrooms spotless. Was great to have laundry facilities .

Poor initial impression as corridor carpets very stained and shabby and off putting .We know renovations are ongoing . Would have liked maybe a few benches/ seats outside property to take a coffee out and sit to enjoy fantastic mountain scenery from hotel

The beds were comfortable

The rooms were not as expected or advertised. The hotel was under significant renovation but not communicated to guests booking on line.

Emplacement près de la route facile à trouver.

Pas de rideau pour une chambre en rez-de-chaussée donnant directement sur les places de parking (manque d'intimité)

Emplacement près de la route facile à trouver.

Rien

Not at all what i expected from best western

Looked and felt like an old logging camp set up Could not get a paper receipt for my stay, was told booking.com would have it. Asked via booking website several times for proper documentation (email to site off booking.com) and still no proper receipt for my stay. Used a company card and needed proper documentation but brushed off after several attempts through web email / used company and also personal email and still nothing.

Location. Comfortable beds.

No hot water. No butter in breakfast room. Staff service was extremely poor.

Free breakfast was great.

Breakfast food was minimal. No scrambled eggs or potatoes.

This property was rated as a 4 star on booking.com and it was definitely not. We paid a lot of money for 2 rooms.

The staff was nice

It was old and having the best western im expected more

Friendly staff, location. Great value with breakfast included 👌

Fridge leaked and freezer didn't keep anything frozen 🙃

Central location, friendly staff.

Rooms were not clean, in particular the towels looked dirty.

Comfortable beds, good room amenities, good location made it easy to walk into town, friendly and professional staff, clean and quiet.

Everything was very good and I stay there each time that I'm in Smithers.
