Gibsons Garden Hotel

Friendly and helpful staff. Ideal location for our shirt stay in Gibson.

It’s an older hotel but well maintained. The flower garden with fish pond is very pretty and they have outdoor areas where you can relax It’s nice they have a hot tub, sauna and indoor pool. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. The bed was not very comfortable for us but maybe for others it’s okay. They have a grab and go in the morning with muffins, fruit and coffee which is a very nice start of the day! It’s located in the upper area which means you have to drive everywhere which is totally fine, the lower area is very busy and sometimes hard to find a parking spot but driving to other places is super easy and not much traffic. We enjoyed Gibsons a lot!

As said the bed was not super comfy they brought us other pillows which we very much appreciated but they were too big for us as well. I would bring my own pillow next time :)

Enjoyed the pool and hot tub

The staff were just wonderful - friendly and Not a bad location - about half an hour walk to town centre. Small little garden - pretty in this summer time.

I was really impressed with this hotel. Top of the list was the bed - great quality pillows, mattress, sheets, plus blackout curtains - I sleep sooo well! Other than that the place is very clean and well maintained. The gardens in the middle of the building are great. It's got a lot of charm. Nice to have the small pool and gym too. Location-wise, it's not in the centre of the charming part of Gibsons, but it is in the middle of the functional day-to-day part of town with some restaurants, grocery and pharmacy just a short walk away. The v cool local movie theatre is right next door. We got around using the bus - it was doable.

It's great that they offer some 'grab and go' food in the morning. Just know it's not breakfast! Consider it more of a snack. One of the dumbbells in the gym was damaged and taped up. It still worked, but it was a bit tricky to use.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and cheerful. Clean pool and hot tub. The jets on the hot tub felt wonderful on sore muscles from all our hiking adventures. The gardens are lush and lovely with sitting areas, a gazebo and a fish pond. Bed very comfy. I asked about laundry facilities and was so impressed with it!!! The light breakfast was just right (fresh apples/oranges and a selection of delicious muffins wrapped to eat in or take with you). Gibsons is a sweet oceanside town near the ferry. For sure visit the aquarium a short drive from the hotel (excellent staff and so many tanks of fish and tide pool species which made our exploring along the ocean more interesting)) So many restaurants, beaches (Secret Beach was our fav) and hikes nearby (like Soames Hill). One evening we walked to the "vintage" movie theatre a block from the hotel which was fun. I would recommend this hotel. And we would stay here again for sure.

My partner & I loved the large open space, the room was beautiful with excellent lighting. The kitchenette and the location of the hotel were very convenient for us, we did not have enough time to utilize the rest of the hotel, so we plan to go back and visit again!

It wasn't very clear where the other entrance to the hotel was, and the parking is a bit sqʷiči(annoying)but that's a pretty small downside...

Breakfast is terrible - no protein No coffee or water or snacks available in lobby during the day

overall the place and the room we stayed is very clean. i was impressed. and also the kitchen are complete if you want to cook. utensils and even dishwashing soap and sponge and paper towel. washroom is clean. the floor is clean. also we like is the smart tv that was in the room, we enjoyed watching youtube and netflix at night. pool is also nice. and the garden with lots of fish. the ambiance is very nice. and to go breakfast is good. close to places and gibsons landing.

Location was very central to Hwy and ferry. Rooms and staff were above my expectations.

Could use some sausages or hash browns for more options for kids at breakfast.

The parking

The staff was very helpful and accommodating! The hotel is beautiful, after-hours noise limits were respected, and it is conveniently located. The rooms were clean and well-put-together, and well-equipped; we used the ensuite kitchen including the stovetop and did our dishes in the sink, which helped a lot. Also, excellent value for money. Thank you!

We recently came here with our 3 grandchildren and were welcomed by the amazing staff. Our room was clean and perfect for our needs. The kids love to swim so we were in the pool twice a day and it was lots of fun for them. Also the hot tub was a nice addition for us. We all enjoyed crossing the bridge to see the koi fish. An added bonus was muffins and fruit and juice/coffee/tea in the morning.

All staff were super friendly and knowledgeable when asked about local activities. The room was very clean - not a spec of dust. The bed was very comfortable. The grab and go breakfast was so convenient, the fruit was fresh and the muffins were delicious! Super convenient location.

Das Zimmer war in die Jahre gekommen. Wir hatten das Zimmer mit Frühstück gebucht, es gab jedoch nur Getränke, Muffins und Äpfel oder Orangen - was ich nicht als Frühstück bezeichnen würde.

Great location, easy to locate, parking is good, accessible to amenities, quiet, clean surroundings, complimentary breakfast, swimming pool access, friendly, accommodating staff.

clean and comfortable. We did not take advantage of the pool, sauna, etc. The coffee/ breakfast bar was fine but it would be nice if it opened earlier than 7:00 a.m.

Clean and nice garden

Complain from the people staying downstairs and rude behaviour by them when kids were walking in the room. Room floors are very thin and hotel staff should mot give room in ground floor to families with kids . It would always be a problem . Kids are more excited when on vacation than adults.

We love the Japanese Garden in the courtyard. We were glad to see that there are many more Koi Fish in the pond now. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is very clean. We found out a beautiful lush park right next to the park, which is a great bonus for outdoor

We've been coming here every year for more then 10 years now, and we remember the beautiful breakfast in the past with the pancake maker, boiled eggs etc. COVID past but the breakfast never returned. Honestly the muffins from "Beahomber Caffe" were fresh and delicious.

Staff was super friendly. Swimming pool and hot tab was very clean. There were free coffee, fruit juice, muffins and fruits in the morning. Overall, awesome stay!!

Wir hatten ein sehr großes Zimmer mit sehr guter Ausstattung. Obwohl das Zimmer zur Straße ging, war es ruhig. Einen Balkon hatten wir auch.

Biker friendly

We were informed that our room was ready and were given key cards at check-in. However, when we opened the door to what was supposed to be our room, we discovered that it was already occupied by another guest who was sleeping inside. This was an extremely shocking and uncomfortable situation for both us and the guest whose privacy was violated. Such a mistake should never happen in a hotel, as it raises serious concerns about guest safety, privacy, and staff procedures. When we returned to the front desk to report the issue and request a different room, the evening receptionist did not apologize for the mistake. Instead, she responded sarcastically, saying, "I can check whether there are other people in the next room." We replied, "Yes, please do." Afterward, she sarcastically added, "You're welcome." This attitude was highly unprofessional and made an already unacceptable situation even worse. Not only were we given access to an occupied room, but our concerns were met with sarcasm rather than an apology or any effort to make things right. Despite the severity of the error and the inconvenience caused, we were not offered any form of compensation, discount, or goodwill gesture. In our opinion, this is an inexcusable mistake that should be taken very seriously. We expect management to review this incident, address the staff's conduct, and consider appropriate compensation for the distress and inconvenience caused.

Clean

The “ queen” bed was really a double bed and front staff insisted it was a queen. Front staff checking us in were cold and unfriendly for a room over $300/ night. We felt like we inconvenienced them for basic questions.

Close to the ferry, ideal for a quick trip from the mainland. We swam every day and it was quiet so we had a private pool and hot tub. The garden is so lovely, it is well maintained. Staff is friendly. We stayed in the executive suite which has nice wooden floors mostly, a full kitchen, king bed, dining table, couch, etc. very spacious. I would stay at Gibsons Garden hotel again.

You can get unlucky with loud neighbours, as the floors are creaky, it’s not a new building. Close to the main road, lots of traffic. Shower in executive suite could be better.

Location, room and breakfast grab and go were very good

Beautiful garden. Bed was comfortable. Room was reasonably clean. The one woman on duty at check in was busy, but kind and pleasant. I really must compliment her.

Property advertised a view, but there is no view. When asked, staff explained that the view is of the Garden in the courtyard, which we could not see because our window looked back on the over flow parking. Black mold in the shower. Dated — however, it is obvious that someone is putting significant effort into the upkeep of the older hotel. Sheets were rough to the touch, but the bed was comfortable. In the scope of reality, this is still probably one of the better/more popular choices in the area, given that the line to check in was long.

The location is right next to the bus stop and to the mall. The rooms are big and the outside garden was very beautiful. The front desk staffs were amazing. They were so sweet and nice.

Zimmer schön und sauber. Doppelbett für 2 etwas klein. Schöner Garten. Pool haben wir nicht benutzt und der Hottub war außer Betrieb. Morgens Laffee und Muffins kostenlos.

I really liked that we had a corner room, quietest part of building. That means a lot to me. Beds were reasonably comfortable. I also liked that we could park right outside the front office.

Loved the pool, hot tub and garden area inside the hotel.

Staff was delightful except the fellow caring for the pool. He looked like he hated his job and seemed resentful of us as we used the pool at 0830. Everyone else was great.

Las habitaciones limpias, ropa de cama, frazadas, toallas y almohadas limpias y sin olores …algo que valoro ya que no siempre es así. Habitaciones de un tamaño y distribución más grande de lo habitual si comparó con otros hoteles del mismo tipo y si tu interés es salir en auto a recorrer más allá de Gibson está muy bien ya que no está en el centro de este.

El que solo exista la opción de café en recepción las 24 hrs y no del agua filtrada. Cuando consulte si era posible tomar de la máquina que está al lado del café, me indicaron que el agua del baño era 100% saludable , pero nadie quiere en un hotel ir a llenar al baño común de la recepción su botella

Everything , it was perfect for our overnight stay . We arrived in Vancouver from Australia very early morning and made our way to Gibsons . It was exactly what we needed .

Wonderful stay at this hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed a relaxing stay with pool, hot tub and sauna. Lovely garden grounds and we will definitely be coming back.

From the pictures I thought it would be closer to the water. However, it is in a very handy location (no view) close to good restaurants and clost to the waterfront, (don't try to walk there). The staff was very, very helpful and the place is very clean

It is not near the water and it is near a busy street, but it is not noisy.

The room had lots of space for our family of 5.

I was charmed by how pretty the courtyard garden was, as well as the interior.of the building. The room was very nice! We also appreciated the hot tub and being able to see if it was busy before going down.

We.didnt realize.the walk down to the town center was so steep! But that's not really anyone's fault... it just ended up being an unintended much longer adventure than anticipated.

I really liked this hotel. It was clean and you can tell that the property is well maintained. The staff were excellent and very friendly. Check-in was quick and smooth, which I really appreciated. There are also all the necessary shops nearby, which makes the stay very convenient.

The staff was great we went there right on the check in time & our room wasn’t ready but the gentleman on the front desk (sorry I didn’t catch he’s name) quickly found another room for us and it was a upgrade made our stay even better.

Friendly staff, clean and spacious room. Love the sauna and hot tub! The garden is beautiful. The muffins, oranges, and apples for the breakfast grab and go were great.

The low flow showers are so low flow that I spent more time in the shower than usual, so not sure if that's actually saving water. The hot tub was a bit dirty (lots of scum around the edges), but still great to have a hot tub.

We had a second floor room and the noise from upstairs neighbours kids/adults kept waking us up at night. The upstairs rooms need rugs or sound-proofing. Request a third floor room if you want a good sleep.
